Clean, smells good, nice staff.
Negatives: you will need a taxi or hotel bus to get to anywhere interesting. Nearest main areas are Shinagawa and Meguro Station.
There was a popping noise on our window periodically. Sounded like large insects or birds hitting the window. But no insects. I am guessing this is the sound of heat pressure from the hot weather on the windows. And it did make sleeping difficult. Yes, it is that loud.

This hotel is in a very safe area
It has a beautiful walking area within the resort with amazing trees and beautiful scenery, staff has been excellent, the dinning options are excellent, very clean very spacious. Highly recommend you stay here if you come to japan it really is amazing.

The facility is old and the floor where my room locates smells very bad like a cigarette room.
Gym equipment should be upgraded.
Staff was kind but lack of explaining. Ex. They didn’t want to provide stays credit and never explained the reason why.
Next time I might go other hotels if I pay $200-300 per night.

The gym is not adequate as there are no weights. The washroom in the room is very out dated. There are very few ac charging outlets in each bedroom and nothing next to the bed. This hotel needs to be updated very badly.

Our frequent go-to hotel in Tokyo because it is close to Haneda Airport and easy to access by JR or subway, and in a quiet residential neighbourhood if one wants to avoid the madding crowds.

Beautiful hotel. Great staff. Only complaint is that Marriott did not recognize this stay because we booked through hotels.com. Most disappointing as we’ve never booked any other way than through the Marriott site and didn’t realize Marriott would not count these nights towards our stays. Not a very good policy from a company that’s usually so very accommodating.

The club room was very spacious, beds super comfy and bathroom clean and plenty amenities.
The Japanese Garden was an added bonus.

One of the best hotels stay. Love the cleanliness and food especially. Also enjoyed the garden around the hotel. There's also free shuttle to and fro Meguro station, so prettt convenient.

The swimming pool is not free for guest though, and it's pretty expensive.

Other than that, love the quietness and ambience of this hotel. Will definitely come back again.

One negative - I would have to pay to use the gym if I wasn’t a Bonvoy member. Luckily I am however if I’d paid to use their poorly equipped gym I would not have been happy.

Very nice hotel. Check in quick and efficient. Very nice comfortable room. Used lounge twice for meetings, Manager and staff very good service. Dinner at Chinese restaurant, food excellent. Service not. California for lunch, food good, service not.
Definitely would stay again, but will think about using dining rooms if if same management team is there.

The Sheraton Miyako is a very good property. The staff is friendly and helpful. The recently remodeled rooms are appointed well. The pool is great for lap swimming; the fitness area is adequate but not great. It’s as good as you can usually expect in Japan. The club lounge is worth getting. The local area is nice and they have a shuttle to the train station, from there you can get to anywhere in Tokyo. The hotel has a nice garden area.

I didn't like the hotel was in the middle of nowhere. I did like the hotel shuttle took you to the nearest train station for free. I also didn't like haviing to pay for a taxi from the airport to the hotel.

Nice large rooms (large by Tokyo standards; standard by non-NYC American standards); in-room WiFi was fast and easy to use. Location not so interesting (appeared to be a business district), but useful frequent shuttle bus to Meguro station makes that a non-issue. If you do want to take the shuttle bus, exit the East Exit of Meguro and stand on the street slightly to the right of the exit and wait for the bus which comes every 15 minutes or so. Don't cross the street. (There's no signage, but if you're unsure, the police officer stationed right around the corner can confirm the location for you.)

A wedding-related regret... The front desk staff was extremely dismissive and rude, and for someone who lives in Japan and is used to Japanese omotenashi, this came as a shock. I chose this hotel for my parents who took their very first trip overseas for my wedding here in Tokyo. When assisting my senior citizen mother and father, who have trouble seeing and were exhausted after a long flight, with the hotel check-in process, the staff were not welcoming or understanding in the least. It was as though my parents were \"low level/low priority\" guests on the basis of using Travelocity. The front desk staff tried to prevent me from filling in paperwork for my parents -- despite the fact that I was the one who paid for everything. Other interactions during their stay were also negative. Upon checkout at the front desk, no thanks, kind words, or goodbyes as is the norm at other hotels in Tokyo. The Grand Hyatt Roppongi has become my hotel of choice for business meetings, guest stays, and other activities since this experience, and I highly recommend it (or others) versus the Sheraton Miyako. Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts.

Looks are deceiving at the Sheraton Miyako Tokyo

First, the service is great! Staff was always attentive. Used the restaurants and the food quality and presentation were impeccable.
Now, the bad news...the hotel was in dire need of room upgrades 3 years ago during my last visit. Old 80's fixtures and furniture. Desk chair and sofa were worn, stained and you could feel the coil springs through the worn out cushions. Room safe located at the bottom of cabinet with old LED screen with black numbers against a grey background required a flashlight while flat on the ground. Hotel information book by Miyako Hotels is circa 1980's. Bathroom was in bad shape with broken grout and mildew. Shower curtain had a dank, mildew stink. Toto toilet 1.0 with what looks like the original control device. Interior room lighting kept the room dark. Went to the exercise room and found 1980's workout equipment. Looked at the indoor pool that appeared okay. If this property remains on the SPG and Marriot reservations, they had better push management to upgrade for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics or pull the Sheraton name.

Make sure you get a refurbished room!

Was put in the worst 1990s style room even though a Platinum SPG member. Eventually got to see the room services manager who changed my room to a refurbished one which was substantially better. This should not have happened in my eyes. There were a number of other minor issues to which the answer was always ‘no’ unless I persisted. I have lived in Japan for 12 years and know there are much better experiences to be had in Tokyo.

-A big thumbs up to the Hotel Staffs! Very friendly and approachable!
-Cleanliness of room is GOOD! Everything looks as good condition as new
-Hotel Shuttle to Meguro Station is a great service. Especially when you are going with parents, or maybe young kids. (Polite and helpful Drivers too!)
-Donki, Drug Stall, 7Eleven, Family Mart etc are witching 5-10 mins walk

Once you are familiar with Tokyo's public transportation, you realize that it is centrally located, not far from Shibuya.

Excellent hotel to stay in Tokyo. Well connected to Meguro and Shinagawa station through 15 minutes shuttle bus. Staff are really nice and efficient. Airport limo is also good initiative. Available from Narita on an hourly basis.

Highly recommend. Our family loved the beautiful spaces, the convenient location, the shuttles to the train, but above all, the customer service is phenomenal. Check in and out were fine and accommodating to all our needs. Lastly, I dropped my Kindle e-reader in the lobby and didn't realize it until I was at the airport on the way home to CA. I emailed them and the housekeeping staff found it, and arranged with me to put it into Japan Post and despite my requesting to pay for the postage, won't charge me (for my mistake!). Above and beyond.

Pretty, but let down in key areas.

My family of four stayed here for three nights, we were provided two single beds and a single fold out couch. We only ordered room service once, $50 for a 8inch cheese pizza, a dozen chips and 4 pieces of fried chicken. Their shuttle bus drops you off at shinagawa station easy enough, but they don’t tell you that it only picks you up from Meguro stn.

Cafe closed at 1500.- despite a beautiful day where it would have been great to sit outside with a beer.

Shuttle to JR station is great. Didn’t have coffee in the room. Overall, great stay. We will definitely be back. Found out at the check-out we could have asked for a room with coffee instead of green tea! Getting a couple of small coffee to-go cost us 1400 yen (over $12)! We decided to walk 5-min to 7-eleven to get great coffee for 150-yen per cup. Also, you can get a nice breakfast for under 700-yen at Jonathan’s across from the 7-eleven, instead of paying 3000-yen at the hotel, if you are watching your expenses.

Tokyo Hotel with its own Japanese garden

Love the hotel facilities especially the buffet breakfast, the room is ok but not that big but it’s clean , the only English tv Channel is dubbed over in Japanese so we gave up using it. Although it’s not in the city centre it is close to a subway station and they have shuttle service to the Shinkansen station. Next time I go to japan I’ll stay in the city centre to save the journey time.

Compared to most sheratons this hotel is out dated. Hallway on our floor smelt like smoke. Hotel isn’t around much. They do offer a shuttle to meguro station and shinnigawa. I would not stay here again simply because of the location

Western style Japanese service - ideal combination

Stayed here for 8 nights while in Tokyo on business. The location was perfect for me but it is farther away from the downtown office area and the main touristy area. That said, it's right near the train and the hotel offers a shuttle service, so it's really not an issue.
The hotel is definitely upper-class with Western amenities, while at the same time the staff offers a superb Japanese level of hospitality.
Free wifi in the room and the lobby.
Will absolutely stay here again.

From the receptionists to the concierge team, the breakfast team to the shuttle drivers, the chamber maids to the rest of the staff, you will experience Japanese hospitality at its best! I couldn't fault the Sheraton Miyako. And I stayed at some of the best hotels around the world from the Four Seasons to the Mandarin Oriental. Thank YOU for making our stay a pleasure.

Good value for money

Hotel location is a bit remote from active areas, but shuttle bus to Meguro JR station is excellent. From Meguro station you have easy access to Tokyo. Also Metro station is close by. Breakfast is good, service friendly and excellent, rooms are large and clean. Hotel is not very new but it is in good condition. Overall we were very happy with our stay.

Stayed there before, will stay there again. Just hope the rates wouldn't change so drammatically from one day to the other. That is the only problem. Once day the rate is as low as $ 140.00 and the other day as high as $ 921.00.
