It's a pretty old property and very dated rooms. The room was really dark too - definitely needed more lighting. The carpet was filthy. Walked around in my bare feet and they ended up black.

One very surprising thing was we got a smoking room and it didn't smell bad. It usually hits you in the face as soon as you open the door!

I arrived early, went on to let them know. Was immediately told by the owner, I presume, your check in is at 4, I said I understand, was just letting them know I was there… he told me to go get lunch, said I already did, next door. He asked for my cell number and would call me when it was ready. I went to another restaurant on the other side of the hotel. Walked over right at 4, since I never received a phone call, room was ready. Went to the room and it had the most awful smell, no idea what the smell was other than a smell from the carpeting. The bed was so hard and squeaked every time I moved and I was very disappointed in the pillows on the bed. I only picked this place to stay one night to be close to the airport. Earlier in the week, I stayed in Panama City Beach. I won’t stay there again. One of the restaurants next door, when they asked where I was staying told me I should not stay there…, a lot of trouble in the past, freaked me out… another guy said, new owners and they have been remodeling and trying to get a better reputation than the old owners… I was only there for not even 12 hours due to check in and when I had to leave for the airport.

When we got to our room, it smelled bad. It smelled like humidity and the AC was off, so the heat made the smell even worse.

I loved this place. However, there is no beach at this property, well, only 2 feet of sand between the property wall and the water. But you can access the public beach within 11 minutes, if no traffic.

Bed mattresses are worn. So worn, I woke up with a terrible back pain I've never experienced, and which make my trip miserable as my back hurt the whole time. I also tripped over the step going into the room because it's severely pronounced and not your standard step. A sign should be present announcing to watch your step.

All staff we encountered were capable and friendly. There are lots of great restaurants within walking distance, and many cuisines to choose from. The donut shop across the street is incredible! Overall, a great location and a great property for a great price!

I went during spring break so I am sure many people lie about the number of people in their party, but I was told at checkout multiple times ai would be charged $250 extra for people, pets and smoking..since I booked a non smoking room I thought that would be a no brainer. The gentleman that signed me in charged me twice and I had to have them cancel one charge. There is a live band in the restaurant next door that plays until 11pm/12am so if you are wanting to party I guess this is the place for you. I had to call the police to do a noise complaint per the front desk. The room was clean, but didn’t smell very nice ( sprayed my car freshener). The microwave and fridge were nice size and ice machine worked well. Good budget hotel for sure.

This was an economical hotel that felt well maintained by the staff. Keep in mind this place is in Florida and next to the water, so there is a musty smell in the room that hit us every time we came back from going out. There was a cockroach in the room. If smells and the sight of a bug really bother you, I would suggest paying more and staying somewhere else. Parking was easy and we enjoyed that we could walk down the street for coffee and lunch.

This was a great price for the location. There is parking across the street for trailers and larger vehicles. We working so we had a 40ft trailer so this was perfect to drop trailer and drive where we wanted to go. The boats and water were nice. There were some hut bars next to us with music that stayed lit until 2am so we could party and walk to our room. Restaurant on the other side. Plenty going on near you. We will be back.

The room was clean, staff was friendly and very accommodating to our needs with an early check in. The bed was comfy! It was a good experience, the only issue I would say is that when we first entered the AC unit front panel was broken and the room also smelt sweaty. Cons: 1. Staff requires a $50 early check-in fee. What happened to people just being nice since the room was ready and expenses were paid in full?
2. Noisy nights. The hotel is beside GI Jane, and honey, they party HARD. If you're looking for tranquility, this may not be the place. GI Jane started playing music from 7pm-11pm. 3. The traffic wasn't horrible, but expect delays during the weekend when trying to go to Destin or Ft Walton Beach.

First off, how close they claimed to be to all the fun stuff in Destin was a lie! Not that close at all. Second, the door looks like it has been taken off & refitted to the frame several times. Making me wonder just how sturdy it would be versus an intruder. The door had a horror movie vibe. third, Dirty looking pool. Fourth, even though we had the Do Not Disturb magnetic sticker, which is odd in itself, on the outside of the door, they came in & changed everything around. Not a great place, especially for a family. Maybe would work better for a couple college kids or single business man.. Majority of front desk workers not all that friendly either.

This was a last minute trip to see our kids on their vacation. We didn’t need a resort. We needed to be there. We got a nice room at a reasonable price, in season. A safe place to lay our heads, shower and go play on the beach ... or any of the other fun things to do in Fort Walton Beach ... easy hop over to Destin too. Sean, the manager, is a good guy and the team he's built are kind and courteous. Pretty perfect for what we needed. Thanks Sean!
