⭐⭐ Review

The location is great, right by a small beach and within walking distance of many places. Unfortunately, the service did not match the location.

I arrived on Friday at 7:00 PM and did not receive my room until 9:10 PM, even though check-in starts at 4:00 PM. Despite the long delay, no apology, compensation, or gesture was offered.

Throughout the stay, it felt like nobody could provide clear answers. Every staff member simply referred us to someone else. Breakfast at 9:00 AM was disappointing, with very limited options and no fruit available. When a guest politely asked if the sausages would be refilled since breakfast was served until 10:00 AM, the request was refused. Afterwards, staff complained about the guest to other guests, which was highly unprofessional.

Housekeeping was also frustrating. Dirty towels were provided, then taken away to be washed. Hours later, after returning from the beach, replacement towels had still not been delivered and we had to repeatedly follow up ourselves.

Overall, the location is the hotel's biggest strength, but the poor organization, lack of communication, and unprofessional service made this a disappointing experience. I hope receiving my security deposit back will be easier than the rest of my stay.

The pictures on Expedia are very misleading, and a misrepresentation of the property! First, before driving 8 hrs, I called and asked if the pool was in use, and was told yes! Upon arrival, the pool was closed, w/ a sign that stated it would be open the next day, but the pool was green! We paid extra for a bay view. Our view was the parking lot in between the bay and our room window. The are adjoining apartments with unsightly clutter for the pool view. The private beach is nice for relaxing, but water has thick sea weed and grass, and bc there is a boat rental operation, smells highly of gas and oil fumes. We were so disappointed!!

This place absolutely surprised us! I booked it mainly because it was right on the bay and had its own private beach & dock where you can rent any water craft you want. Pontoon, jet ski, paddle board etc. The pool is large, clean, and was so warm and nice unlike others that we’ve been to that are too cold to swim in. The room wasn’t the cleanest, but for the cheaper rate 100% worth it!!

The staff was friendly, kind, and very helpful throughout our stay. The hotel is in a great location, close to the beach, restaurants, and plenty of stores, which was very convenient.

However, there were a few issues. The elevator was out of service, which made carrying luggage up and down the stairs difficult. The lobby was very clean, smelled fresh, and the air conditioning worked great there.

Unfortunately, our room was a different experience. When we first arrived, it smelled like cigarette smoke, and later it developed an unpleasant odor, almost like spoiled food or something that hadn’t been cleaned properly. The air conditioning in the room also didn’t work well overnight, causing the room to become very hot and making it difficult to sleep.

The complimentary breakfast was also disappointing and much more limited than what we’ve experienced at other hotels.

Overall, the excellent location and friendly staff were the highlights of our stay, but the room conditions (smell) and lack of working air conditioning made the experience less comfortable than we had hoped.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. The hotel is very run down. While the bed sheets appeared to be clean, I pulled them back to check for bed bugs before settling in. The mattress protector underneath was covered in different types of hair, and one of the mattress covers had brown stains near the head of the bed. It was very unsettling and made me question the cleanliness of the room.

I tried calling the front desk, only to realize the phone had no phone cord connected to it.it was essentially there for show. When I moved the bedside table to look for the cord, I found dead bugs behind the furniture.

The front desk staff were kind and understanding, and the manager did everything she could to help. She canceled and released our reservation so we could leave without any issues. Unfortunately, because we booked through Hotels.com, the refund has been a completely different story.

A housekeeper was sent to our room, but she walked in, looked around, and left without cleaning or addressing any of the concerns. After waiting more than an hour with no response, we decided to leave. Every hotel within about an hour was sold out, so we had to drive even farther just to find somewhere else to stay.

The most frustrating part has been dealing with Hotels.com. Even though the hotel released and canceled our reservation, Hotels.com has kept our money and has been \"working on\" our refund for three days with no resolution. Do not use hotel.com for booking.

We didn’t sample the complimentary breakfast. If you’re looking for somewhere to lay your head this may be your place. This was the worst trip I have ever been on. From the moment I stepped onto the property the staff was as rude and obnoxious they could be. I reserved a bay view room (1150.00)and they stuck us across the hall from where we were supposed to be. Once notified of the oversight, we were told it would be 100 additional for that room stating third party booking as the issue. When I tried to discusss this with the manager I was told to get on my knees and pray that’s all it is! And in the end I was charged an additional 500! I will be disputing every charge and filing every complaint I can. Thank you Quality Inn and hotels.com for ruining our 20 year wedding anniversary!!!

The rooms were not cleaned we had to go and spend $40.00 on cleaning supplies and clean ourselves. This was such a damper!!! There was dirt trash and spider webs in the corners!! Dust everywhere , do not stay here do not stay here!! We paid almost two grand for two rooms and I felt as we stayed outside. Seriously they should shut this place down!! Do not let the pics fool ya!! We were given a key to someone else’s room!!! We changed rooms three times due uncleanliness and the fridge not working. The blinds were in bad shape and broken anyone could look into your room!! It’s an old badly renovated hotel that needs to be torn down and rebuilt! The ONLY great part about it was the bay in the back where the kids could enjoy themselves and you can rent boats there also!! Other than that don’t even think about it!!

The rooms needed to be deep cleaned- splashed drink or liquid dried on the walls, paint splatters on the floor, walls and mircrowave. Furniture was damaged and dated and peeling. Updates and renovations in the room look like they were completed by someone who has limited maintenance experience. Gap at bottom of the door was at least 2 inches- they taped paper to the bottom to cover the gap. Unable to make room completely dark due to the blinds. Light in my eyes all night. Breakfast was mediocre at best- I went out for breakfast most days. I will say the front desk person Crystal was friendly, helpful and had lots of information. The gentleman behind the desk, I am not sure of the name, was much less so. When I was in my room on day he attempted to enter my room with no explanation. I told him not to enter my room and did not need any service for my stay. The situation felt off and weird.

Amazing Staff, Great Location, Breakfast ehh

This definitely could have been a five-star experience if it weren’t for the breakfast. Am I saying this is a five-star hotel? Absolutely not—but I base my rating on my personal experience, not just appearances.

From the start, the staff was incredible. The manager was attentive and professional, and Monique at the front desk was exceptional—definitely a five-star employee! She made check-in smooth and welcoming.

The location is perfect—close to everything you might need. While the property is older, the interior was refreshed, clean, and smelled great. My room was spotless, with a sparkling clean bathroom and no grime in the corners (which I always check!). I also had a room facing the water, which gave it an elegant, peaceful feel.

The pool area had a natural, earthy vibe thanks to the huge, beautiful trees, and you can even rent jet skis and pontoon boats right behind the hotel—huge plus!

Now, where things fell short was breakfast. It’s included, which is appreciated, but the quality was lacking. The waffle mix tasted like cardboard, the eggs didn’t feel real, and there was no protein provided—supposedly due to a delivery issue. And the coffee? Unfortunately, it didn’t hit the mark either. They really need to revisit their breakfast offerings if they want to elevate the guest experience.

All in all, I’d still recommend this hotel and would stay again. But with a better breakfast, this would’ve eas

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
This was our first time visiting the Fort Walton/Destin area, and we booked our stay through Expedia. Honestly, I don’t understand why this hotel has a low rating—our experience was nothing short of wonderful.

The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. There’s a nice outdoor pool and even a pizza restaurant right next door, which was super convenient. One of our favorite features was the small private beach with a dock, beach chairs, and picnic tables. Every evening, we brought our dinner back to the hotel and had a relaxing picnic on the beach while watching the sunset over the water. Our kids absolutely loved it—they said it was their favorite part of the trip! After dinner, they enjoyed playing in the sand and water while we relaxed.

Breakfast was decent, and I want to give a special shoutout to the tall gentleman with glasses (Boris)—he was always helpful and attentive. Christy at the front desk was phenomenal and went out of her way to help us with our late check-in. The new manager (Handon) was just as great during our checkout. Honestly, the entire new staff was incredible—welcoming, friendly, and clearly committed to making our stay enjoyable.

We’re a family of five, and we genuinely appreciated the warm and family-friendly atmosphere. This review is based on our real experience, not just a one-off opinion—and I hope it helps others see the value this place offers.

Could feel the dirt and sand under our feet in room. Floor hadn’t been mopped in a while. Pretty strong for in room -musty. No light for entire trip in elevator. Hall floors not mopped often as spills were there for days. Had to get towels every day. Despite asking for towel service. Staff at front desk super friendly though!!

Great location and convenient in location, but had key issues daily…frustrating to go to the office every day to get keys replaced. This was our third time staying here..and we like the area especially the small beach area behind the hotel…really nice chill spot.

I liked the location and staff in front office very friendly .I didn't like the fact that we had NO room service the whole 4 days we were there. No one even knocked on my door to ask if I needed towels or anything. I had to go to front desk and get my own towels.

Not horrible but come prepared…

Front desk/lobby attendant was fantastic… very friendly and accommodating. The room had a spectacular view of the bay and beach area as long as large service/work trucks were not parked all day. I like that you can rent boats and jet skis so close.
Breakfast in the lobby was non-existent and not refilled to accommodate the number of guests staying in the hotel. We ended up bringing coffee, donuts and danish into our room.
The bathroom was not clean, there was dirt and dust behind the door and in corners of the room. However, the cleaning staff was very friendly.
Our room faced the bay and when the blinds were closed, a portion of the blinds had been cut or broken allowing those outside in the parking lot to see into the room. I used a towel to hang between the blinds to close the space.
There was a dead cockroach on the floor in our room I can only hope came from the adjoining room as it was the only one I saw however, I pulled everything out of our bags to make sure we were bringing nothing home with us.
We did not go to the pool.
The location of the hotel is wonderful on 98 and we were able to get to everything very quickly. Not sure I would stay at this hotel again, for the price and condition of the rooms. Was my first vacation in over 10 years and I made sure I enjoyed myself.

Very dirty on inside and out. Building needed serious repair. We could hear everything next door.

We were there 2 days and the 1st day our ac went out, the blinds in our room were broken and let light in, only had 1 towel for 4 people. The pillows were way too soft and the pool closed too early/ the floor in our room was full of sand the 1st time we stepped foot in it.
