I don’t normally leave negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience.

Before booking, I specifically chose this hotel because the room was advertised as having a partial ocean view. While there is technically a small glimpse of the ocean, you have to turn your head to a very specific angle to see it. The actual view from the room is overwhelmingly a parking lot. The photos and description on Expedia gave a very different impression, and I felt they were misleading.

Parking was another frustrating issue. On two separate occasions, there were no available parking spaces for hotel guests, forcing me to park in the public beach access lot next door. I also observed people parking in the hotel lot after coming from the beach and leaving without entering the hotel, which made it seem like guest parking was not being monitored.

Housekeeping was also disappointing. When I requested clean bed sheets, I was told they would not be changed until after the weekend. For the price guests pay to stay here, I don’t believe that’s acceptable. The mattress was uncomfortable enough that I woke up with back pain, and even the toilet paper provided was extremely poor quality.

What disappointed me the most, however, was the lack of customer service. I sent an email to management during my stay to express my concerns. After receiving no response, I sent a second follow-up email. As of today, I have still not received so much as an acknowledgment. Breakfast 2/10

Our family loved this place. I would have given 5 stars, but somehow they missed emptying our trash and bringing towels the first 2 days, called desk on second day and they sent someone up in a little over an hour to take care of us. Breakfast pretty good, waffles, oatmeal, cereal, some type of eggs, and bacon and sausage, or Canadian bacon and regular bacon or sausage everyday Also had bagels and muffins. Pool great for kids and right on the beach with easy access. Definitely recommend.

When we arrived at 7pm our room wasn’t ready. After 45 mins waiting we finally checked in, but the elevators (Plural) stopped working. Had to carry all our bags up 4 flights. (Not fun) The Manager Anthony promised to comp us for the night. It never happed. He said he contracted Expedia to issue refund. We asked him to send us an e-mail stating he was comping us. Get what… NEVER HAPPENED. Customer service here is next to nonexistent

My family of 4 stayed here for July 4th weekend. I chose this property due to the closeness to the beach and pool. I liked how the beach was steps away, but it was the most terrible beach I’ve been to here in Florida. The water was brown and murky and the vibes were not it. Not to mention the terrible staff who were not help for anything and one elevator being down. It was fairly clean though and I give it that. I will not stay here again.

We had a great stay at Weecrest in Florida! The hotel was very clean, and the staff made our visit enjoyable. Breakfast was included with our stay, which was a nice bonus. While the food could have been a little more seasoned, there was a good variety and we appreciated having it available each morning. The only downside was a strong raw chicken odor when we first parked, but thankfully that didn't affect the rest of our stay. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely consider staying here again.

Pros: right on the beach and breakfast included.

Cons: our room wasn't ready 1 hr and 30 mins after check-in time, waited another hour after being told she'd check on it only to realize she forgot about my hsuband despite sitting in front of her (said she thought he was already a guest the way he was hanging out and later said she would've remembered him if our baby was with him), smelled weed in my room from another guest twice, the elevator stopped working as it came to our floor and the emergency call button was out of order, asked for towels and ended up getting them ourselves after waiting for 30 minutes.

I don't usually complain as I come from a service industry background and we're pretty laid back as it is, but this experience left a bad taste.

Discovered on our last night of the stay that our door would not lock. It would close but you did not need a key to open the door.

Let the lady at the front desk know. There was nothing they could do about it that night, was told there would be someone I could talk to the next morning, when I went to inquire, I was informed that there was still no one there to talk to about it.

Did not feel comfortable leaving our room unoccupied with no way to secure any of our belongings. And it was unsettling that nothing could be done about it, nor was there anyone I could talk to about it other than making staff aware. Great place, just make sure your actually locks

We stayed at this property back in 2018 when it was a Fairfield Inn and we had a great experience, however, it is no longer a Marriott property. We loved it for the location on Fort Walton Beach, and the fact that it's right on the water/Gulf. The beautiful sunsets were a huge draw and we were not disappointed. The property now is still nice. It's clean and the beds are comfortable. It was very expensive since it was during the summer months. Our only issue was the breakfast. Yes, it's complimentary, but it's factored into the price that you pay. It was bad. We even noticed that people tended to stay with the safer, store-prepared foods....packaged yogurt, packaged muffins, bagels. They do have a waffle iron station that looked good. The eggs were the texture of couscous...very small and grainy looking. The sausage and bacon were yuk. Anything that needed to be prepared by the kitchen staff was not good. And, everyone in the surrounding tables agreed. Coffee was good, though. Anyway, not enough to never go back, but they need to work on their breakfasts.

Our stay at wavecrest was disappointing from the moment we walked in. We arrived 2 1/2 hours after check-in and still had to wait in the lobby for a hour while our room was still getting cleaned. Our room was so cold you had to sit under a blanket or turn the air off. Only one elevator worked for days then the second elevator broke down on our last evening and we had to take the steps to the top floor and down. Our main light was out in our room. And not to mention the pool closes at 8:00 pm every night. So as I was checking out i spoke to the manager, he was most concerned with the light being out in our room. Overall there was alot of issues for this high priced hotel.

Staff at the front desk was EXCEPTIONAL.
Enjoyed a King Mini Suite with apparatus living room & office area, so we didn't have to conduct all activities from the bed.

Really could use another elevator bay. Flooded beach rinse area was a bit gross.

Breakfast was fine, typical for included breakfast.

Ice machines worked. Another bathroom in the pool area would be nice. Some people hogged the only bathroom for 20 minutes doing god knows what. Also, wish you didn’t need key to use elevators at all times. Maybe just 8pm-6am would be better.

We had a great stay. Thank you Wavecrest!

We'd been here a couple years ago when it was a Marriott. I do like the cheaper price for the exact same experience. Basic store for emergency items or sodas or whatever, very convenient to the beach. However, they don't have any chairs or umbrellas so if you're out of towners, you're kinda of on our own. Same for any food options.plan to do some walking, most places are within 1 mile either way. Also, you can walk down the beach a hundred yards and rent an umbrella and two chairs for like $32 for 4 hours. Frankly, 4 hours under this sun in June is plenty for us Minnesotan's 🙂 As for transportation, if you don't have your own vehicle, plan on Uber or Lyft as there is no longer any public transportation. Overall, a pleasant experience.

The room service was poor. Gym smelled like it had not been cleaned for a long while. Customer service was really bad. Reception desk was dirty, I complained about it but they never bothered cleaning it till we left after a stay of 5 days. Imagine housekeeping not taking a it trash after dropping new towels. For few days they didn’t change the sheets they only tucked it and laid it again. It was not a nice experience.
We tried to cancel our reservation same day we got there but were not allowed to.
I will never be staying there again and don’t recommend it to anyone.

The room was really clean and sizable. We had the king bed with partial view. You had the bed area and a sitting area with an additional tv. The facility as a whole was clean and nice. The breakfast was ok for a continental breakfast, can’t go wrong with waffles. The only negative was the pool was really small but we knew that ahead of time based on pictures. Our little still had the best time in it. We LOVED that we were directly on the beach making the trek from our vehicle to the sand with all the things super easy.

Key security access for elevator use is good. Room was nice and comfortable. Upholstery needs some attention. Breakfast was good. Vending machines were iffy and front desk purchases are $$. Parking is easy and its a short walk onto the beach. I'd definitely stay there again.

Rose and Cindy were amazing- very personable and take such pride in their work - upon arrival - we noticed that the room was absolutely spotless!!! We booked one of the ocean view rooms and the ocean view is a bit obscured on the sides. -although the weather did not cooperate the way that we had hoped - it was still a great few days. The hotel is a bit set back - so if you want an oceanfront property with a panoramic view- this would not be the place for you. The heated pool- though smaller in size - is an added bonus - also the staff kept all of the breakfast items well stocked and the area was always spotless - even when there was a bit of an issue with the Expedia booking and the payment from Expedia - - Anthony was so kind and did not make us feel like we were a burden to him. Great value for the money- 100% would recommend
