Reserved a pool view room and that was a mistake. Loud teens blasting rapper music after dark. If you want a quieter location, do not spend the extra money on an upgraded pool view room. Otherwise, hotel in general is just eh.

This hotel does not feel like a Wyndham. It’s old and it feels like they put lipstick on a pig. The staff at the front desk is very unfriendly and they give the feeling they don’t want to be there. NEVER AGAIN. While we were there, I checked other hotels around the area and they seem a lot better.

Water heater sounded like it was boiling the whole time so it sounded like it was raining in our room. When the air conditioner kicked on it sounds like metal rattling around in the vent. The roof structure above the patio had a huge crack in it. They have a laundry facility there's no explanation where it is so you have to ask, and they don't tell you in the laundry room or at the desk where you can get laundry supplies, you have to ask the desk.

Worst part about the whole experience, you would think being on the white sandy beaches of Destin Florida that the hotel would offer beach towels, but they don't, and you're not allowed to take hotel or pool towels to the beach. So if you're traveling from out of town, you have to go buy beach towels, because we all have so much room in our luggage to be able to carry beach towels!

We had a bad experience at this hotel. We arrived at check-in time and were checked-in about 5-7 mins later. Three rooms were booked; we were informed that it would be 30 mins. / hour before the other room would be ready. The clerk apologized for the wait. We checked back in 30 mins. The room still wasn't ready. I asked if the price could be adjusted some because the room wasn't ready at 4. I was informed the rooms aren't guaranteed to be ready at 4; check-in starts at 4. Also, I was told there were hundreds of people checking in and out and a lot of rooms to clean; they just hadn't been able to get to all of the rooms yet. I was told to check back in 30 mins to an hour. The clerk was informed I would be checking back at 5.The clerk called at 4:49 to say the other room was ready.
We stayed in section C. There was a strong smell of cigarette smoke on the first floor. The phone in one of the rooms didn't work. This was reported and the clerk said she was sorry it wasn't working. There was a roach in two of the rooms. The door to one of the rooms had to be forcefully pulled to stay closed when exiting the room. An alarm went off at 11:02 p.m. in an empty room. The front desk was called but no one answered. Eight mins. later, the front desk was called again. We were told maintenance was on the way. They arrived 2 mins. later and stopped the alarm. Water drained slow in the sinks. The elevators were slow. Breakfast and parking were extra. We won't stay here again.

On arrival at 5pm, check in at 4pm, they sent us to our room. Unfortunately the room had not been touched from previous renters. Unmade beds, dirty bathrooms and trash full of spit cups. Front desk said they would send someone to check it, no I am sorry, no I will get cleaned asap, no nothing. We had to take our luggage back to the car and go find something to do for two hours. Things happen, i get it, but front desk did not care one ounce. Having said that the cleaning crews and maintenance people on site where 5 star people. They were friendly, opening doors, they would get off elevators to allow us on, just very polite. Grounds were keep clean and nice. Day we checked out the front desk person was very nice, different crew than check in.

The staff was excellent. Every time I called about towels. They were quick to reply. However the property is poorly maintained. The rooms are very very old. My balcony door was jammed shut. To open the door. You would literally have to shove through. I broke my toe on the property. The main door wouldn’t close. It would just blow open unless you literally slammed it. The hotel has some hidden fees. For 3 nights it was around 1300$. Nothing in the arcade worked. The Hotel cafe was way way way overpriced. $50 for two people to have BLTs and a coffee. The hotel charged 10$ a day to park. The pool was absolutely disgusting. Next time I book, I will definitely stay somewhere else in Fort Walton. Traffic is a nightmare if you drive a truck. Parking is tight, and the roads are junk. I’d like to conclude by saying the staff were excellent, they can only do so much with a run down building.

The view of the ocean from our room was beautiful! From our balcony, we could see the ocean as well as the pool. I am attaching photos of our view. The room was a little smaller than I thought it would be, but it was still big enough for three adults. We had a double queen room. There was a microwave and a mini refrigerator in the room. Housekeeping was fabulous. Even on the days that we really didn’t need our room cleaned, they still came to the door and offered to empty the trash and leave more towels/washcloths. There are two swimming pools. One seems to be geared more towards kids, as it has a rock/waterslide. The other one is a no-frills pool, which seems to be more appropriate for adults. This one has a hot tub that was wonderful!! There are two routes you can choose to access the beach from the hotel. The one that we used had a lot of steps to go up and down, so if mobility is an issue for you, you might want to see if the other one has a ramp. We never did go over to that one, so I’m not sure if it does or not. They do charge $10 per day for parking, and they charge a $100 refundable deposit when you check in. Miracle Strip Parkway is literally right around the corner, so there are a lot of restaurants and shopping options. We were very pleased with this hotel.

Beachfront room - on the pool as well.
Room was damp & the cable went out for days.
They are strict with their check in time - we didn’t realize the time zone (1) hour difference and sure enough, had to wait until 3:44 pm.
No problem- just drove here from South Florida
(10) hours to be denied a from until 4 pm, when I could go online and book a beachfront room that was readily available. Just think they could do better.. the bathroom was really clean and the hotel was nicer than most in the immediate area. So pick your poison I guess.

Cons:
•The “Gulf view” room we paid extra for was largely obstructed by the pool, making it feel more like a pool-view room. We were disappointed that we couldn’t relax on the balcony and enjoy the ocean sights and sounds as expected. We spoke to the front desk and they took our contact info and said we would get a call from a manager to see what they could do. Call never came. Very disappointing.
•The room was extremely humid despite the AC cooling the space. Bedding felt damp throughout our stay, and the humidity even affected paper items, food, and medications. We’ve stayed in other Florida beachfront hotels and never experienced anything comparable.
•The room and floors had noticeable sand upon arrival, and it was constantly all over our feet. Even with housekeeping and our efforts to manage it, it often felt like there was sand in the bed.
•Onsite laundry was inadequate. One laundry area was closed, and the other had only three frequently occupied washers, forcing us to use a laundromat.
•The mattress protector appeared to have mold and blood stains on it.
Pros:
•The hotel’s location is excellent—just a short walk to a beautiful, uncrowded beach. Chair and umbrella rentals were available at reasonable prices (~$50 for the entire day for 2 chairs and an umbrella).
•The onsite food and drinks were delicious and fairly priced. Slow Wake Coffee and Donuts served excellent coffee and an amazing breakfast burrito, while Manatee’s Tiki Bar offered an enjoyable lunch.

I hate to give a negative review, but the Management was really terrible. We had paid for a late checkout because we were celebrating a special occasion with family who flew in from out of town. We even paid to guarantee the late checkout so we could have time with them. We received a confirmation number and confirmed with their staff the week of. Then the night before, they revoked our late checkout and the manager, Morgan, offered zero help and zero desire to be of assistance.

Again, I hate to give a negative review, but it was just really poor business practice and customer service.

Right away we noticed broken glass on our floor and the floor was not clean, it had sand on it, we had just checked in. They did send someone right up who did sweep the floor very good to make sure there wasn't anymore glass. The bathroom door didn't latch, I shared the room with 2 boys. The exhaust fan in our bathroom didn't work so It got pretty warm in there even taking a cool shower, so we had to open the door some to dry off and get dressed. The main door was very hard to shut and latch. When we went to the beach we found out we had to pay rental to sit in the beach chairs with the umbrellas. We were on the 7th floor and the only ice machines were on floors 1 & 2. I found out when I checked in there was an additional charge of $10 a night to park my car in their parking lot where I was renting a room for almost $300 a night! But, having said all that, we had a gorgeous view of the Gulf from our room, lots of beach access, and the pool was nice and the area around it clean. The entire area was really nice and clean. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Anytime we called the front desk for towels, they brought a bag of towels, hand towels, wash rags, and a bath mat right up, no waiting. All in all, none of the above stopped us from having a great time there.

The room was very clean and cockroach free. The pools are very nice but I with they stayed open till 10 pm as listed and not around 9-9:30 which was a bummer. The beach itself, is nice. In the future I will spend my money at a different hotel. There was a bloody pair of underwear left in my room from the previous people I assume. Either way, it was not cleaned up. The hotels answer to this was to just me to another room 3 floors up which was not convenient. Nothing else was done. It needs updating majorly and cleaned. The cleaning staff allows all the doors to just slam behind them every morning when they clean. It’s very rude and unprofessional. I asked them several times to not do that. I stayed for a week so every day my son and I got to listen to doors slam continuously throughout the morning and afternoon. Definitely not staying there again. At first my daughter and I were ready to leave regardless of what the penalties were going to be. The room is a bit dated, smelled funny, felt muggy, and the blinds had to be forced down, BUT, we decided to stay a night and if we still felt that way the next day, we would find somewhere else to go. We went to the beach which was just across some stairs, a super quick walk, and it was beautiful. There are chairs and umbrellas for rent and food/bar nearby.
The bed was very comfortable and had good pillows. The TV does not have APPS on them like Netflix or anything and when we tried to set it up to be able to cast, it locked us out and maintenance had to come reset it. Oops. But because of the beach and comfortability of the bed, we did end up staying another night. It did seem to be the best bang for your buck on a tight budget and still be ON the beach.

Overall, will stay again.

I asked if there was a potential discount that I could receive for my experience and the guy that worked there named Jacob attempt revoked my request for a late check out after giving it to me simply because I asked for a discount for the phone, not working..
Definitely not a four or five star experience I would say three star at best.
If it weren't for the fact that the room was very nice and the view to the beach was great. I would not go back because the front desk does not have customer service experience.

Dated hotel with poor management. Do not ruin your vacation by staying at an old hotel with many issues and a management that does not care about customer satisfaction.
