wonderful staff

staff is very nice and helpful. this, to me is the best reason to stay here. I came in with no planning and the staff helped my plan my petra outing and gave me suggestions. william, the gentleman at the front desk, even drove me to the entrance of the petra infromation center. The location is good, and the hotel is clean. so it is a good option for a budget hotel.

Decent option to rest after long days at Petra. It certainly needs an upgrade but it was clean and its location is convenient in terms of dining options. It is a bit far from the visitor center, so a taxi might be needed after walking all day long

Al Rashid Hotel is the best of all worlds--an easy walk to the main gate to Petra, very much a part of the living town of Wadi Musa, and an island of peace and graciousness that one feels as soon as one enters its doors. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful, and the hotel serves a delicious breakfast! I was traveling with my elderly father, and I was moved by how the hotel staff treated him honor, respect, and gentleness.

Stayed here after a long day in Petra. Hotel is located on the corner of a very busy intersection/roundabout, and parking is very limited. I had to drive around the block 4 times before someone finally left and I was able to take their spot. Hotel is a budget hotel and rooms are large. However, so not expect luxury! This is a budget hotel and you get what you paid for. Rooms are dated and carpet is severely stained. However, it’s very clean and beds are super comfy. It is very cold at night, but there is a working heater in the room, so all is good. Hot water was available and breakfast included the next day was really good. Room rate was about $45 usd including taxes, which is very inexpensive considering the area. About a 10 minute drive to visitor center of Petra, so technically you can park your car and just take a short taxi ride. There is also a ham man about a block away that cost 30 JOD, but if you show a business card of the hotel, it will only cost half the price. Overall good stay, friendly staff, and would stay here again.

We had a triple room and there wasn't much space and even the wardrobe was hard to get to. As we had a spare bed we used that for our things.

We stayed two nights but the room wasn't serviced.

Breakfast was included and was fine but the earliest service is 6:30am so if you plan to go to Petra when the gates open you will have to give it a miss. They will pack a lunch for you at additional cost.

Beware of parking. Hotels.com indicates that parking is available. This isn't the case, you have to park in the street. Twice we parked in the street and were moved on by locals who didn't want us parking there even though it was perfectly legal.

Having moved our car to a third parking spot we left our car overnight only to find that someone had scratched the bonnet/hood which meant we ended up going to the police station to get a report. The hotel were very helpful in sorting this out for us but one of the reasons that we chose the hotel was that Hotels.com indicated \"Free Parking\".

place was nice and the staff was helpful, we booked our next day trip to wadi rum at the counter and it was very simple. breakfast was uneven. first day we woke up early and it was great, next day we got in an hour later and although it looks like it’s served fresh for every customer it was dried up... still alright though. clean room, small but we didn’t need more. one king bed is 2 singles stuck together with the nightstand that’s usually between the 2 beds moved to some random place in the room. i go into details but honestly, the place was fine. most place in wadi musa are very similar no matter what you pay. This one has 2 great restaurants right next. the one that is run by the hotel and the one right in front. just don’t expect alcool :)

Very basic, bit pricey for what you get. Very simple Breakfast. Some rooms can be very noisy if they are facing roundabout which all traffic has to get through. Good location for restaurants, and walking distance from Petra Entrance (< 10 mins, downhill outwards)

Comfortable, functional and friendly hotel

The owner gave us a warm greeting. He easily gave us an early check in at 12:30 once the room was cleaned. The room was simple and clean. The mattress was firm and comfortable — we slept well. The shower was hot and water plentiful in the evening. The breakfast was a simple nice breakfast of scrambled eggs, ham, hummus, yogurt, cheese, honey and pita bread. The staff was friendly and helpful ... they even helped me to get a bag of ice when I had a foot injury and had a small packed breakfast when ready when we had to take a minibus the next day to Wadi Run. In the neighborhood, there was good easy access to restaurants, Arab bank atms and grocery stores. The owner has a casual inexpensive restaurant next door and the shawarma and lentil soup was very good. There is a higher end and more expensive restaurant across the street with excellent food, freshly baked bread and good service. For downsides there really isn’t any issues. There were very minor things like the shower booth was small and one side of the closet door didn’t open but it didn’t affect us in any way. We cabbed it to the Petra entrance. The taxi would try to charge us 6 dinar but we always managed to negotiate it to 2 dinars. We had a very enjoyable stay here and would be happy to come back again. Thank you for a very nice stay!

The owner off the place was very welcoming.resturant was very good however I was overcharged as they used the local currency and not USD.when I questioned this method I was told it was cheaper yet it was R300 Zar more. I showed the online hotels.com printout but it was disregarded. Waleed the owner was not there at this point.
Also the toilet door handle was broken

I left too early in the morning to pursue it..

Very friendly staff on reception, gave us lots of tips when visiting Petra (and told us what to avoid) The rooms were very basic, bed was fine. The water pressure was not the greatest and the hot water was not always hot. Breakfast was good, the scrambled eggs were very tasty. Great location about 15 mins walk to the visitor centre or a JOD2-3 taxi ride there. Lots of restaurants/ shops nearby.
Would stay again just for the staff, their hospitality was great and also helped us get a cheap taxi on our way to Wadi Rum (and also offered to call the local bus for the cheaper bus ride there but it is at 6.30am so decided to take a taxi)

Perfect location for visiting Petra! Reception was great. It is located at a convenient location near a bank, supermarket, post office and shops. We walked to Petra every day following a downhill road for about 1 km. The highlight of staying at Al Rashid is its restaurant located next door. They offer delicious food and great service at a good price. We liked it soo much that we eat there almost every single day. We also ordered to go food to take into the park, which turned out to be a great idea! Jordanian hospitality is great and Al Rashid exceeded our expectations. Thank you, we loved Petra!

Good accommodation. Petra ar night was great. Day tour was disappointing. Great historic and cultural site is overwhelmed with cheap souvenir stands. Every step of the way someone will pressure you to buy something for 1JD, from young very rude boys to old ladies.
My family and I will never visit Petra again. It was waist of time and money. Looks much better in magazines and photos then in real.

Budget option in Petra, but not very clean

The staff were wonderful at al-Rashid, but sadly, the room was not very clear. The room was very dusty and had bugs. The bathroom had some mold, and overall the room did not look like it had been cleaned in a long time. I wanted to give this hotel a higher rating because the staff were so lovely, but the room was not great. However, the hotel is a very budget friendly option for Petra, very conveniently located, and close to a few great restaurants!

The owner and staff at this restaurant are absolutely amazing, the few problems we had they dropped everything to come and assist us right away. The location is a bit far from Petra if you wanted to walk to the entrance, plus it is at the top of a long hill. There is a great, affordable restaurant that serves some great cheap shawarma if you are hungry! Our room was clean, however the bathroom did not have a shower curtain, and the shower head was broken making bathing difficult at night. There was AC, but the room overlooks a very busy and loud street which made it difficult to sleep at night. Breakfast is a pretty typical middle east affair with flat bread, and an assortment of toppings.

Pretty hotel located in downtown

The hotel is located in downtown close to restaurants and shopping areas. staff is very friendly and willing to help you. We had a problem with reservation dates (my mistake) and the administration helped us to find another hotel.

Me and wife stayed there for two days and from owner to staffs all were very warm hearted, cordial and always smiling. When you are in a foreign country, you want to know about there life, mixup and pass some leisure time with local. This hotel staffs know how to own the heart of there guests. I would love to recommend this hotel to all, those who ask for medium budget hotel with value for money.

A hotel that’s trying but not there yet!

The hotel is in the centre of wadi musa about 1 km from Petra entrance. They are clearly trying with friendly customer service, but that is undone by the room. There was hot water in the shower but it was hard to adjust. The shower leaked onto the bathroom floor. The sink had no hot water no matter how long you ran it. And the bathroom door handle was falling off.
Breakfast was so so at best.
They are trying with service but you have to have a product first. Rooms have to be better.

The staff of Hotel Rashid were constantly and genuinely happy to help me throughout my four-day stay. I most enjoyed just sitting and speaking with them. The traditional breakfast spread (comprising olives, bread, labna, hummus, scrambled eggs, biscuits and more) is delicious and served promptly (between 7:00-10:00am). I was able to visit other places of accommodation in Wadi Musa and found Hotel Rashid's facilities to be better value than other higher rated places.

The locale is close to a number of good priced restaurants and money changers, however it is a 12-minute walk downhill to the Petra Tourist Centre. I personally enjoyed the walk, though it might be better suited to twenty-somethings.

Excellent Hotel Close to Amenities and PETRA

We stayed here for two nights during an exploration of Petra which is a 3 minute drive away! There was parking on the street and plenty of restaurants and facilities close by!
The hotel staff were super helpful and accommodating! They guided us in our exploration of the area, especially Petra! Their tips and ideas were insightful and made our journey across Jordan smoother! The hotel owner and staff answered so many of our questions and helped us plan our trip to Petra and beyond on our road trip across Jordan! Not only was the hotel clean and comfortable, the staff made our stay very pleasant and enjoyable! I highly recommend this hotel!

Stayed here for only one night between visiting Wadi Rum and Petra. The staff is great and hardworking. They also did not mind us arriving 6 hours after our check-in time. All the beds had various stains (permanent, so nothing dangerous— they had clearly been washed), the towels were crispy, the bathroom was moldy, and the WiFi was very weak in our room. The shower however was strong and hot and the breakfast was plentiful. It is worth the 20 something JD for one night only to rest up, but you certainly get what you pay for.

This is an incredible hotel for the price with staff who make you feel at home. Anything you asked for they were right there to help out. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was filling. It is located in the centre of town so easy access to some excellent restaurants. Would definitely recommend this gem to anyone.

We staid in Al Rashid for two nights with my wife during low season and would definitely go back there on our next trip to Petra. Service was great! Very kind, helpful and attentive; they even prepared us a takeaway breakfast because we took an early morning bus to Wadi Rum. Breakfast was typical Jordanian style and it was good and plenty. We liked the area. There are many restaurants around and a good bakery for traditional local sweets called Almond Sweets. Also, it only takes 5 minutes or so by taxi to Petra visitor center (we paid 3 JD/direction). This hotel is for sure good value for your money, after all, you don't go to Petra to spend time in your hotel.

Nice little place to rest after Petra

This is a small hotel in Wadi Musa. It is a short 5jd taxi ride to the gates of Petra. The rooms are very small but very comfortable. This is a simple budget friendly hotel that is adequate for an overnight stay. Very clean place also.

You do not need to pay high prices to be next to the gates of Petra. This place also has lots of shopping outside the hotel that is walking distance. Save some money and stay in Wadi Musa rather than Petra

The rooms were quite basic, but the helpful staff got us what we needed. We were able to park right outside and get to shops and restaurants nearby. We were only staying a short while, but we found the rooms stuffy and the bathroom damp and mildewy. Fortunately there was a nice lobby we could relax in.

The hotel is close to Petra and the staff is wonderful. They were able to arrange guided tours with an excellent guide. The price was reasonable. The room was adequate although the door didn't close well and the shower needed some work done before we could get hot water. They did fix it immediately. The only really negative was the driver who picked us up at the Amman airport. He was tired, and drove quite unsafely.

Hotel staff went out of their way, much appreciated. We arrived after a long drive and in the morning found we had 2 flat tires. The manager not only told us where to get the tires fixed, he loaned us the spare from his car so we could drive there, helped put the spare tires on, drove to where the shop was and called them to make sure we were properly taken care of. They also found us a great guide for Petra.

This hotel was recommended by tripadvisor and I was disappointed. We saw only one other set of guests and their complaint was the same as ours- the hotel was frigidly cold, and the room heaters were inadequate.
The hotel was very helpful arranging drivers for us.

Nice friendly hotel, convenient for Petra

The hotel was having work done to add a restaurant but the reception staff were super friendly and it was the most comfortable bed I had slept in, in weeks! We were given complimentary Turkish cofees when sitting in reception and the breakfast was a huge feast. Only negative was that the wifi was not working properly, as seemed the case for every hotel we stayed, in Jordan...

This hotel was okay for the price. It felt like the hotel was in hibernate mode until tourism picked up. One of the staff member was quite helpful and friendly while the others we found rather apathetic. The hotel was pretty tired and worn down but for the budget price it was reasonable.

We stayed 1 night at Al Rashid, arriving quite late at night and leaving in the morning to explore Petra. It was nothing fancy, but served its purpose by giving us a comfortable, clean place to spend the night. The staff was helpful and friendly, and breakfast was pretty good though simple. Wifi did not work in our room, so I had to sit in the stairwell for a while to check in with people and confirm our plans for the next day, but at least they had it working and it got the job done. My one complaint would be the lack of hot water for showers, which was not mentioned. I don't mind cold showers in tropical climates, but having to take a cold shower in Petra, where it gets quite cool at night, was not fun! If they don't have hot water that should be mentioned in the listing information, or if there's a way to turn it on & off (like we found in other hotels in Jordan) someone should explain that when they show you the room.

Distance from Petra visitor center to hotel in Wadi Musa is over one mile and uphill. Taxi should cost no more than 2 JD but many drivers will ask for 5. Hotel looked empty when we stayed there at end of Eid Al Adha. No breakfast buffet. Instead, we had a breakfast made for us which was fabulous if you like the local food, which we did. Looked like they were serving for 4 but we ended up eating over 2/3 of what they placed on our table. Owner gave us tips on eating out at nearby restaurants. Hotel was value for money so consider this when seeing our rating which is relative rather than absolute.

This was a clean average hotel. It was in a great location. Staff honest. Rooms are dated but had a firm bed and hot water. No view. No amenities. It was quiet. Breakfast was basic but enough with hard boiled eggs hummus pita yogurt. Coffee tea. Biscuit cookie. I would stay again for one or two nights.

A good budget hotel!

We stayed for two nights when visiting Petra. The hotel is right in the city center and convenient. There are restaurants, cafes and stores nearby. But the parking was challenging as it is a street parking on the busy and narrow street. The room was smaller but clean, and included good Arabic style breakfast. It took us a while to connect to the wifi, but after a few attempts it worked fine. The staff are very kind and friendly. It was a nice stay!

Good for the price

The room and facilities were quite basic, but clean and well-kept. The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast quite good (they will also pack it for you if you're heading out early). It's about a 10 - 15 minute walk from Petra's main entrance. It's not the best place to stay, but I was very pleased with what I got for the price I paid.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Ask them for info about Wadi Rum tours!
After some effort by the staff we finally had hot water. The same goes for the heater and the TV.
Room was clean at first sight. However the floor was vacuumed rather poorly..
Overall we think it was a bit overpriced.

The hotel is a great value for the price you are paying. The staff is great and very helpful. If they know you are leaving early to sight see in Petra or go to Wadi Rum they make you a takeaway breakfast. The breakfast buffet is not bad either. We really enjoyed our stay there and are really thankful to all the hotel staff for being so patient with our questions and for helping us.

Easy to find, great staff

Booked two rooms for one night. Had no problem finding the place as it was directly on the marked route to the main entrance of Petra, which we drove to in a few minutes - probably would have been a 10-15 minute walk. Staff were amazingly kind and helpful. Breakfast was simple but tasty, standard local fare. Everything in the room (A/C, wifi, hair drier, hot water, etc) worked well. It wasn't a \"fancy\" room, per se, but was clean and well worth the price. Would stay again or recommend to others.

I and my boyfriend stayed her for one night ,the hotel and the room were so clean, comfortable, new bathroom, A/C very good, staf speak English and friendly, and very nice breakfast.

Nice hotel, great staff.

Staff spoke excellent English, were very helpful. Breakfast was much better than we expected. We would stay there again if and when we visit Petra again. Petra entrance is about a mile away, staff explained how to get there, where to park, etc. Assuming you have a rental car - you will want to drive over and park (free) at the Petra entrance, buy your ticket there at the Visitor's Center and have a great time. They only take cash for the tickets, but there is a no fee ATM in the Movenpick Hotel right across from the Visitor's Center.

Surprisingly clean and quiet

In my previous visits to Wadi Musa/Petra, I used different hotels, and this was definitely the best experience I had so far. The hotel is located in the center of Wadi Musa, a decent 15-20 minute walk to Petra entrance. There are quite a few options in terms of dining and shopping in the area, and the hotel is very clean and offers a very good breakfast. Parking is a bit of a problem due to hotel's location, especially in the peak season, Wi-Fi needs improvement, but other than that, no complaints whatsoever for the budget. Obviously, at this budget and star rating, you can't expect an elevator in the hotel (you have to walk up to the rooms), or a spectacular VIP-type of service, so you can't raise the bar too high.

Loved this place!!

I can not say enough good things about this hotel! The staff was amazing, the break was not a buffet but was a table meal with more food than we could eat. The bed was the comfiest we had during our travels in the Middle East. Again the staff was awesome. Wish we had stayed more than one night! Telling everyone I know if they go to Petra... Stay here!

The hotel was excellent. The owner is very friendly, the air conditioners work extremely well, and the internet is decent. You are in the heart of midtown Wadi Musa (the town by the entrance of Petra), with plenty of shops around.

Great stay near Petra!

Outstanding staff with great hospitality, very friendly and attentive, they made for a comfortable and easy stay here. Check-in was a breeze and the hotel definitely exceeded our expectations: very clean, comfortable bed, great location with dinning options, bakery and ATM super close by.

Breakfast was a delight, with a whole table of small plates guaranteed to fill you up before starting your adventures in Petra!

Al Rashid - the top budget hotel in Petra

I don't see how this hotel can be beaten for quality at the price we paid. A sensational breakfast daily, welcoming, helpful staff and a clean room with good shower and bed along with some local colour and a walk or 2JD taxi to/from Petra - we had a great time.

Reasonably priced

The Al Rashid was a nice budget friendly option for our stay in Petra. It was very quiet while we were there, so the staff were incredibly attentive. The breakfast was lovely and they had a very reasonably priced laundry service. My only complaint was that the room was freezing! We slept in pants and sweaters, but the shower was lovely and warm. In a town that is extremely overpriced, the Al Rashid provided us with a clean and comfortable place to stay. We would definitely stay there again. Good value for money.

Clean simple hotel for a good price

Simple but clean hotel. The rooms have everything you need, but there is for example no hotel bar. Breakfast was very nice.
Very friendly staff that helped us arrange tickets for 'Petra by night' and a taxi.
Only downside is the poor wifi (free though).

Highly recommendable place for this price!

Great location and value for Petra

We arrived here during the low season in February, so the hotel was pretty empty. The hotel staff was fluent in English and very helpful overall. The facility is within 15 minutes of walk to Petra, 5 minutes driving. It's easy to find, with the facilities, while not 4 or 5-star, are nice and comfortable. For a quarter of what you could be paying at Crown or Kempinsky's, it offers great value and comfort on your trip to Petra.

Petra vacation

Happy with our choice! We stayed 2 nights and had a very comfortable king, along with a single bed that was our suitcase 'table'. Service was excellent/ English spoken; arranged mini-bus & 'to go' breakfast on final morning/ no charge. Location is away from main Petra gate; nearby ATM, markets & restaurants were helpful for us & can bargain for a taxi (2JD will get you to or from Petra/ just say \"Not far, you'll walk\" & mean it!).

Al Rashid, Aqaba - a bit tired but good value

This is a rather grand hotel (big marble lobby) that has seen better days - it is in need of refurb in the rooms and public areas. The bathroom was very badly designed, for example the shower spills all over the floor! Also they charge extra for wi fi which is a big black mark. The hotel was fairly empty in late January but Aqaba as a whole is busy with tour groups from other Arab countries and there is a young and vibrant feel - plenty of good restaurants (though wine or beer very expensive and hard to come by). The front desk/reception is far from slick but very helpful and friendly (nice elderly Palestinian man). The bottom line is that we we got a decent clean room, quiet, with a reasonable breakfast, at a good price The location is close to the sea front.

You get what you pay for. This is a budget hotel so I guess it was fine for the price. We did not feel a 100% comfortable. The hotel is small, rooms are a bit gloomy and the fittings are a bit run down. The location is very close to the town centre which was a bit dirty. The staff service ranged from average to good.

A wonderful hotel

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room seems to have been recently remodeled and is in great shape. And the price was low for the value we got. You can walk to Petra from the hotel. A bit of a long walk, about 20 minutes, but it is all downhill. In terms of value for the money one of the best hotels I have stayed in.
