Everything was great from the welcome greeting with tea to the expansive breakfast choices and response of the owners.

Lobby and restaurant were full of people smoking. The place smelled terrible and I couldn’t eat at restaurant. The listing said “smoking in designated areas” but I have never heard of smoking in the Main Lobby - which had No Smoking signs! Also the soundproofing was suboptimal. With all due respect, there is no way to sleep past the 5:00am Call to Prayer music coming from the nearby Mosque.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok, we stayed for dinner one night too which was pretty reasonable. Overall good value for the price. Only downside is it’s not an easy walk back up the hill after a full day at Petra!

Good option for Petra!

We were looking for an affordable stay near Petra and this one did the job.

Bed was comfortable and the front desk people were extremely helpful in organizing activities.

My only complaint is that the shower and bathroom area were smaller than expected.

A good option for your stay in Petra.

This is not a 4 star hotel at all . It’s more of a 2 or 3 star max . The pictures shown on the site does not reflect the reality of the place . You can hear everything that is going on on the room next door , the TV is side ways from the bad. The shower caulking and tile is all black with mold

We stayed at this property for our recent holiday, the staff is poorly behaved and wouldn't leave any opportunity to rip you off your money. limited and poor quality breakfast and rooms are tiny as well. Plug points do not work , notea or cooffee in rooms, they provide 2 little cups of water as opposed to standard 500 ml water bottles in other hotels. and above that staff is unfriendly too which is disappointing given they are in hospitality industry, will not recommend.

The Hotel is in old condition, bathroom toilets can't fit a person in it due to its lack of space and design, old furniture, Air conditioning is in a wall unit, overall should be considered a motel 3 stars, not 4, definitely a rip off for the price I paid

2/3 stars hotel instead of 4

We feel like this is more like a 2 stars or max 3 stars hotel instead of 4. It is an old style building with few pieces of new furnitures. We stayed there for two nights. The staffs were very nice and friendly. We even got our room upgraded as we’re on our honeymoon. The problem with the top floor panoramic room is that the windows can’t be closed completely. It was very windy and we could hear all the noise from outside. It also took hours for the heater to really warm up the room. Overall the room gave us an impression that it’s not very clean due to the stains on the bed linens and the condition of the bathroom. The breakfast was so and so, far from what you see in their photos. Dinner buffet was not good as the food was not fresh, a la carte was not too bad.

because he was two female companions, wife and daughter 😡

Beware of hotel's Turkish Bath!!!

After a long day of hiking I arranged a massage at the hotels spa facility (they called it a Turkish Bath) for my wife through the hotel manager.

This is a recount from wife of what happened:
We ordered a Turkish bath and the hotel staff asked if it was ok if it was a man. We didn't realize exactly what happens in a Turkish bath so I \"said not a problem\", as I have had lots of male masseuses in the USA and it was always very appropriate. However for this Turkish bath you go across the street and you are all alone with one man. During my bath I tried to keep putting the wet sheet to cover my private parts but I kept ending up completely naked. My breasts were rubbed and nipples pinched. My legs were spread and my inner thighs rubbed.The man asked if it was ok and I said \"yes, but I am very uncomfortable and it is strange\" to him. He told me \"just relax and it is only work\" for him.
I also was positioned facing the wall standing up naked and massaged from behind. At the time I thought it was normal for an Arab turkish bath and even tipped the guy, but later I felt very uncomfortable and violated. After the next few days I started getting more upset and I am mad at myself for not stopping him because it was very inappropriate and sexual.

The Hotel was in a reasonable location from the Petra visitor centre and close to restaurants.
The hotel condition was average with some old furniture and facilities (the elevator railing was broken, rooms had basic bedding material). The bathroom was small, but functional. The shower was dirty and had not had a problem scrub to remove built up grime and mould. The hotel is on a highway (slow speed) and the rooms did not protect from the loud noise of the road traffic.
The rooms on the fourth floor did have wonderful views over Petra which was a saving attribute, good air conditioning and a new television.

The property was in very close proximity to the Petra archeological site and a great starting point to explore Wadi Musa. The hotel staff and the manager Naheth was very helpful, they went out of their way to accommodate their guests. My room exceeded my expectations and the bed was beyond comfortable.

The staff were amazing, welcoming and very helpful, they went above and beyond throughout my entire stay.

The location is very near Petra and is an easy car journey in and out which the hotel are happy to provide.

The only downside is the noise of the traffic at night as the hotel is on a main road and had thin windows whereby you could hear everything.

This didn’t detract from a lovely hotel ran by fabulous people who treated you like a friend and not s customer.

What a view!

We had a top floor room and what a view! To watch the colours of the sunset over Wadi Musa, followed by the nighttime lights of the town, was fabulous. This hotel is located on the Kings Highway on the outskirts of town. Easy to reach, no town centre driving, and the view! To walk to the ticket office of Petra is all downhill, about 20-25 mins. We walked down our first night & then took a taxi the rest of our stay (4JD each way). The staff were friendly & the room was nice. Definitely get a town view room, it does have some road noise but it is worth it. We choose hotels for all sorts of reasons and this one we got right for the view. We had a pleasant stay and would return.

On arrival the staff were welcomin, friendly and helpful. There was a short delay getting our room but we were well looked after. The room was comfortable with a great view. Breakfast is from 6.30am and there is a pretty good selection.
It's a good location about a 10 minute walk to the centre which is a steep climb back.. That feels steeper after a long day in Petra.
To visit Petra itself is walkable just but its much better to drive.
There is there own restaurant and Turkish Bath opposite. The restaurant does a good buffet after 6.30pm.
We stayed three days and it is recommended.

Grossly over priced. Never use price as a benchmark when booking this hotel. Expect a small room - which has a few steps of walking space, an even smaller washroom - where u can touch the tap on the sink sitting on the commode! Avoidable... Unless selling for a less than USD 100/- per night (including taxes).

This property was 5 minutes from Petra and perfect for an overnight stay. The buffet dinner wasn’t the greatest but it was decent. They also, for an additional price made a to go lunch for me for the next day in Petra. Overall it was clean, quiet and convenient.

The hotel staff was great. We had low air in one of our tires on our rental car, the hotel staff went with us to get that fixed and we were on our way in less than 15 minutes. Otherwise, that low air would have been a flat tire on the way to Wadi Rum

The hotel is clean, welcoming and comfortable with great amenities. The staff is outstanding, especially the guides.

My first day I had an afternoon tour of Little Petra, Shobak Castle, Moses's Spring and the sunset over Petra. My guide, Shaadi, was super kind and made me feel very welcome.

The next day I had a full day, full tour of Petra with Naheth who took great care of me. I waited 30 years to visit Petra and I couldn't have asked for better company. Informative, fun and kind, the day was extraordinary.

As a woman traveling solo, all I want is to feel comfortable, but this place went above and beyond.

The whole staff will make you feel like family, but be sure to ask for these guys to make your time in Petra even more fantastic.

We got there at 7pm and they gave away our room. So they made us stay in their sister hotel which was dated. Didn't get money back either, and it obviously was a cheaper hotel. It was however, clean.

Lovely overnight stay in Wadi Musa

We spent one night at Petra Sella Hotel. The staff were very friendly, and the rooms were spacious. We had our two children with us so we were given connecting rooms, one with a king bed and the other with two twins. My kids thought it was so cool to get their own room (but we did leave the connecting door open the whole time). The bathroom was a bit small, but the shower was great after a long day exploring Petra. There is a small convenience store across the street where we stocked up on snacks and water, and we had a very nice dinner and breakfast at the hotel with traditional Jordanian foods. Would definitely stay here again if we're ever lucky enough to visit Petra again!

Nice and comfortable stay at Petra

It is a very nice hotel at Wadi Musa. We stayed there for 3 nights. The rooms are excellent. make up We booked a room with twin beds and it was most comfortable one. Spacious enough for two of us. Clean and comfortable beds, very clean toilet and they used to make up our room everyday. The fornt desk people were very helping and were always ready to serve our needs. The front desk manager suggested us to take lunch packet with us for our whole day tour at Petra and he arranged two nice lunch packets for us with choice of sandwiches and fruits. The breakfast buffet is moderate and choice of items are limited,but that is same in other hotels too. We took the dinner buffet one night and it was a fabulous one. It was a nice spread of foods and the cooking was very home style. It tasted so good after a whole day of treking and walking. I will recomend this hotel to every one.

When I arrived at sella hotel I was welcomed with open arms and a glass of tea. Although I arrived earlier than my check in time, Naheth kept my luggage while I went out siteseeing . which was great because I went straight to petra instead of wasting time waiting to check in the hotel. When I arrived in the room everything was Amazing. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable (big plus) the bathroom was clean and it had toiletress (soap and shampoo). Also the room was a great size. I didn't have a itinerary planned when I went to Jordan but Naheth and help me planned my WHOLE vacation in 1 day. From organizing tours, transportation etc. I'm so glad I decided to stay at this hotel. I recommend anyone to stay here if you're traveling to petra. The staff, the hotel , the location, the restaurant inside the hotel were all amazing. I can't wait to return to petra. I will definitely stay here again.

Convenient hotel for a day visit to Petra

If you're looking for a hotel to set up base for Petra - the Petra Sella hotel is right for you. It's nothing fancy. The rooms are a good size for a night or 2. The bed is very comfy and big. The shower room is also a decent size with a good powerful shower. The breakfast was okay, nothing special. It has free parking outside and is 3 minutes drive away from the visitors centre to Petra. I would recommend this hotel for a short stay to visit Petra.

Best deal in Petra

We were a group of 4 (three Americans, 1 French) and were all very impressed with this hotel. We heard that hotels in Petra are not very nice but this hotel is the exception. The staff is friendly and efficient. The rooms are very clean, shower pressure is amazing, bathroom is modern, AC works very well, and the beds are extremely comfortable (the linen is all white, soft, and you sleep like a baby). After a long hike in Petra, I'm very happy that we came to this hotel for a much-needed rest.

I did visit Petra & stayed at Petra Sella Hotel on 20th of April 2017,

Good things -
1) Reception Welcome was good (received a Welcome Drink, which was really nice).
2) Wifi was provided as listed on the Invoice
3) Timely response @ Reception desk for queries
4) Room was Neat & Clean

Improvements -
Dinner Buffet was very poor. Not much dishes and they charged 24D's (12 x 2) for both of us. When requested for a small bottle of drinking water they asked for additional 2JD (4JD's for 2 Small Bottle of water). For a 12JD buffet, if a Drink is not included then its not for customer satisfaction - It's just Business.

There was no 24 hours Check-in/Check-out. I checked in at 2pm and they asked me to check-out at 12. When requested for additional time they asked me to pay the full RENT. I offered upto 25JD's for 4 hours as my Bus was at 5pm they did not agree to Half rate and asked me to pay full rent.

There was Shampoo and Bathing Soap in the Toilet. Requested for a sample Tooth Paste and the response I received was please buy it from the next shop. Suggestion - Please add a sample Tooth Paste and an Ear Bud in the room, so that the Guest wouldn't have to go a store searching for tooth paste for the next morning.

Overall I would give 3.25 out of 5.

Nice hotel wiith a good quality / price ratio. Close to the Petra Park and in the middle of the city of Wadi Musa. Rooms are well decorated with a modern style. Staff is friendly. Did not have the chance to eat at the restaurant as I was in begining of low season and there were not too many customers in the hotel. Preferred to eat at a local restaurent in town.

Petra Sella's service was absolutely amazing. They did everything I could have asked - gave me good recommendations for a cheap but good lunch, told me how much I should be willing to pay for a cab to Petra, found me a ride to Wadi Rum, supplied me with a quick sandwich when I was short on time while checking out - you name it, they did it. In fact, I think I was the only person in the hotel in the morning, yet they still made all of the dishes in the breakfast buffet just for me. An all-around amazing job by the staff at Petra Sella!

Good value for money hotel...despite some downside

Overall, a good hotel. The newly refurbished rooms look quite good (funky) and are well furnished. In particular, the bed quality is really nice. The hotel staff is courteous.

On the downside, the rooms are small in size. In particular, the bathroom is VERY small in size...and drainage is bad (causing water pools in the bathroom after a shower). The location of the hotel is not great - being located in the upper Wadi Musa means that there is nothing (no decent restaurants, etc) around the hotel, and you must take a taxi everytime to go down (or back from) Petra.

Despite all the deficiencies mentioned above, the rooms were at a very attractive price/night, which makes up for the downsides. So a good hotel for the budget conscious, family traveller (particularly if you don't plan to spend too much time in the toilet/bathroom).

The hotel was clean and the staff most accommodating. The accommodation was not bad (the twin beds were very small), and the bathroom was extremely small and not well laid out. There was no brewed coffee available at breakfast, and they charged me extra for a small Turkish coffee, which is really not acceptable. They do not have any room service. I asked for them to arrange for transport from the airport in Aqaba to the hotel, and this did not materialise, neither was this omission commented on. The hotel is very average.

Petra Sella hotel

I picked the hotel because of what it portrayed on the website. Half of the information does not even exist. There is not Terrance to view sure set of Petra, the Turkish bath spa is a rundown building that is not opened. Their tour page does not work in advance so they bait out you upon arrival and what you get is not what you paid for. They use professional tour operators but they do not pay them what we paid. It felt like we were scammed. I will not stay there again.

Great staff and great choice.

I can't say enough about how well I was treated by the manager ( who has a great sense of humor and who gave me a refund for my Petra at Night ticket, even though he didn't need to ) and the staff. The room was perfect, the location was good, and the price was very reasonable. The breakfast came with about a dozen dishes and was excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Petra.

Modern clean hotel -terrible restaurant

Unfortunately all the good things like the most beautiful duvets and pillows,the wonderful clean rooms with high pressure shower and friendly staff that go out of their way to make your stay an enjoyable one. Is outweighed by the extremely poor breakfast and dinner. When I say bad I mean really bad. The hotel in not located in the shopping area so not possible to just nip next door for quick dining.

After my complaint on day one the manager prepared breakfast food and bought from the local shops himself. The food is an embrassment to what otherwise would be a loverly hotel to stay in.

Good hotel with in a quick taxi ride (2JOD) to the entrance of Petra. Restaurant in hotel is descent. There is a small store across the street and a sandwich shops down the hill (10 min) to put together picnic supplies for your day trips.

Average Hotel

Petra Sella is an average affordable hotel. Staying overnight for a visit to Petra is fine - beyond that not much going for it. Previously my room was on floor 1, this time floor 2. The shower really sucks at floor 2 as it has low pressure and it was impossible to get a constant flow and temperature.

The reception is friendly and welcoming. The hotel itself very average, nothing special. I have no idea why most people would rate this hotel this high. The room is too small for a king size bed. The shower has great pressure but the water goes hot and cold which makes adjusting it a problem.

Petra Sella hotel is a fantastic place to stay near Petra in Wadi Musa. We really loved the hospitality and how Mohamed, the manager, went to great lengths to assist us. The food was great, view fantastic, location perfect. My group really enjoyed being there.

The Petra Sella provided comfort and warmth.

The rooms are very clean and the beds comfortable. I found the showers provided on demand hot water with great water pressure in the shower. The Hotel offers a Turkish Bath experience that is unique, and the Hotel is minutes away from the sights at Petra. Rooms were reserved for a reasonable price and I left Petra feeling very satisfied with my stay at the Petra Sella Hotel.

Great stay. Great location.

I was very pleased with this place. It is only 2.2 Km from Petra so that's about a 5 minute drive or a 25 minute walk (we walked every where). It's also very close to the bus station so when we were ready to head back to Amman, the ride was only 2JD and about 4 minutes away. The room was very clean and he hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. I would come back.

Definitely worth a stay

This was a great find for us. Compared to the price of other hotels closer to Petra, this was a steal. It was clean and very comfortable. The staff was very nice. I think we may have been one of only a few people at the hotel because they asked us when we wanted breakfast and then had it prepared and brought out to our table (instead of the typical buffet-style). It was way more than we needed, though probably not a bad idea to have a nice big breakfast before spending 5-6 hours walking around Petra.

As a side note, we had hired a car, so it was very easy for us to get to Petra in the morning. If you're planning on going early, this is helpful as finding a taxi at 6 or 7 a.m. seems like it would have been difficult and you're about 2km away from the entrance. Parking is pretty easy.

Great place near Petra!

Great place near Petra! Parking available. The beds were huge, soft, and plush. The hotel was stylish and well maintained. The staff was helpful with suggestions of things to see and do. They even had sunscreen delivered when we realized we had forgotten ours.
the kids loved the mood lighting in the rooms. Wifi was good but only get 1 hour for 2 users. Would definitely stay here again.

Overnight in Petra

Very nice, clean hotel ... quiet despite its location on a main street. Staff was very helpful in booking a bus ride to Amman for 7 JD ($10) versus 100 JD a taxi would have cost.
