Our stay was wonderful, the staff were very helpful and did all what they can to make our stay comfortable, they allow us for early check in and late check out although the resort was fully booked at that time. The breakfast buffet was generous, well diversified, and with excellent taste of food. The housekeeping service was excellent, the room was tidy, and well cleaned and maintained everyday. What can I say more about our stay other than it was excellent and joyful, I wished I could stay for a longer time, but for sure I will go there again and again. I recommend it strongly for a great and comfortable stay mixed with the original rich Jordanian culture and heritage.

The entire hotel -- actually a series of small courtyards with three or four rooms each -- is elegantly designed and beautifully situated on one of Wadi Mesa's hills. Away from the bustle of Petra's entrance, it's an idyllic place to spend your time here. Two pools, indoor and outdoor, plus Jacuzzi and sauna, help to unwind after a day of sightseeing. The breakfast buffet is excellent and the staff is wonderful. Two thumbs up!

We had a wonderful stay at Old Village Resort in Wadi Musa. The hotel is a perfect base for visiting Petra – located in a quiet, atmospheric area with beautiful views, yet close enough to reach the Petra entrance without any problems. After long days of walking and hiking around the ancient city, it was a real pleasure to come back to such a comfortable and charming place.

The resort itself is very well maintained and has a lot of character, with traditional architecture and a relaxing atmosphere. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the common areas – including the pool and terraces – provided great spots to unwind and enjoy the surroundings. The staff were professional, friendly and always ready to help with any request, from arranging transport to giving practical tips for visiting Petra.

One of the highlights of our stay was the on-site spa. After an intense day of sightseeing in Petra, we absolutely recommend booking a massage there. The massage therapist Aerf is outstanding – highly skilled, attentive and very professional. His Dead Sea Salt Scrub treatment helped us relax completely and recover after a long day in Petra. It was exactly what we needed after hours of walking in the sun and on rocky paths.

we had an amazing stay. this is an amazing property that is perfect for the occasion of visiting petra. everything about this place worked - large well appointed room, a great restaurant, top notch staff, an indoor pool and much more. our kids loved the place, including the charming location and “village” like feel. the only downside was that a number of the fitness room equipment weren’t working, but that’s pretty minor. overall, this was a first rate experience.

Quiet location and a great hotel

We arrived at 0400 and check in was no problem. The suite was large with a separate private patio, seating area and bathroom. We had buffet breakfast each morning which had a wide and varied choice. We sat outside on the balcony and were fortunate that an inconsiderate smoker only sat down once. In the evening we also dined at the hotel buffet which again was excellent and its unusual that we did this. The hotel is a 5minute taxi drive from other restaurants and it was easier to dine in as the variation and quality was superb. The pool area was clean and tidy and towels were provided. The outside pool was unheated i.e cold but this great after a hot day walking around Petra.
It is a dry hotel, and it seems odd to ban drink but allow smoking in eating areas. The orher added bonus is that it is quiet, no piped music except the call to prayer, which is great to listen to as it rolls down the hillside. We would return.

The hotel is a destination itself. It was a very antique olive oil farm and you can see ruins of the very old buildings under it. You feel like luving in a Nabatean village. The views are amazing.
But the best of the hotel are the people. Very welcoming and friendly, willing to do the extra mile for you. Special thanks to Baker and his family for taking great care of us.

Absolutely beautiful Hotel and grounds with very friendly and helpful staff.
Fabulous views down to Petra, and lovely sunsets.

Would highly recommend for a few days in the area.

This is a beautiful property. The restaurant is excellent and there is a nice store for souvenirs. It is about 10 minutes by car from Petra and a taxi costs around 10-12 Jordan dollars each way so not a big deal. It is truly a beautiful hotel.

Photos perfectly convey antiquity and the exotic. Staff bends backwards for your comfort. Do not expect sleek modernity. Rooms, beds, bathrooms are very comfortable, and clean. The buffet serves delicious local cuisine. If your from the west, please don’t be a Snob by complaining there’s not an omelette station. Your here for the history.
There are many photo worthy corners in the lobby. The bar serves great cocktails and wine. Wine from Israel is excellent. Be a good guest. Observe the golden rules. People and groups visiting from all over the world are fascinating. Please be open to socialize. Steel yourself with pushy cabbies and vendors. Don’t respond, just ignore. Easy walk from Jaffa Gate and everything you could hope for is walking distance. Wife and I will stay at the Gloria on our return to Jerusalem.

Hotel is approx 10mins drive to Petra site. Breakfast was fantastic with plenty of options for all. The bar area is pleasant too. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to use the pool or jacuzzi

I had to book the same day as an emergency because there was an overbooking at Mövenpick. The clients are SUPER difficult and they were not happy with the change. I think the hotel is pretty nice in its charming way but they were really dissapointed and said the bedding is old and yellowed. They are people who are never happy. I am super thankful because otherwise I would have had them sleep in the street.

Arrived at hotel about 4pm , chilled by the outise pool, until 6 then had coffee on the terrace just outside the resturant to watch the sunset.
Indoor pool was also very nice with an outdorr jacuzzi open til 9pm and gym .

We ate at the buffet. The food was excellent 20JD each
Wide selection of salads and all the Jordanian dips, wide selection of breads, and desserts, hot food included dishes of chicken , beef, fish , vegetables , rice, potatoes all very flavoursome and tasty.
There is also a pasta and pizza station all freshly cooked.
The service from the staff in the restaurant was friendly and efficient after a long day touring eating in the hotel was ideal for us , away from the main tourist area. Peaceful , relaxing and on the hill looking down on Petra town .
Breakfast plenty of choice , Jordanian foods, also bread station , plenty of pastries , yougurt , fruit , juices cereals and eggs made to order and other hot dishes .
I enjoyed my stay here
This is a dry hotel which didnt bother us

Was a great experience, staying in an old village style home. With the details in the room from the \"previous tenants\" . They have a heated indoor pool and sauna, as great to use at night in winter. Breakfast and dinner buffet was moderate.

Beautiful location, absolutely lovely accommodations, staff eager to please and gracious. The dinner buffet was more than adequate and very generous. The breakfast buffet likewise.

The morning departure felt very chaotic with many bus loads of tourists leaving at the same time. Despite our calling the front desk early, our luggage was not picked up from our room, and we were afraid it had gotten misplaced; in fact, it was still sitting outside in front of our room until we tried to hunt it down. The staff inside at the front desk didn’t seem able to help the staff outside with the buses.

Other than that brief SNAFU, all went well and we had a wonderful stay. I would go back!

The Jewel of Petra

From an upgrade on checkin to impeccable service and friendly, helpful staff, The Old Village can’t be faulted.
The room and facilities are clean, well maintained, very comfortable and quiet. Food options are extensive and good quality. Fantastic pools and outdoor areas.
The location away from Tourist St. is not an inconvenience with shuttle bus and taxis available and allows an escape from the hustle and bustle of downtown.
Mahmoud and his staff should be complimented on an outstanding product, would definitely stay again.

We had a great stay at this resort & Really enjoyed its location & Services. If you are visiting Petra then I will suggest this is best place to stay .
There are couple of hotels nearby Petra but just for £6 Taxi Ride will take you from hotel to Petra .
So you can enjoy a quality time at hotel by Enjoying outdoor Swimming Pool , outdoor Romantic Dinning with lots of options. So this one the best place 👍👍👍

This property is laid out in such a way that the place feels really quiet even when it is busy. The pool area is great to relax in after a days walking at Petra. It’s a big pool too which is nice. You can have a lovely bbq dinner outside or there is a buffet restaurant. I’d definitely recommend staying here if you are visiting Petra. The hotel has a shuttle bus to the gates of Petra park which goes and comes back twice a day. We had a car so didn’t use it. There is plenty of parking at the Petra visitor centre which is free. The hotel will also arrange lunch and breakfast boxes if you are leaving early. We opted for a breakfast box as we wanted to see the park before it got crowded. Petra opened at 6 and we got there just after. I’d recommend doing that as it meant we avoided the crowds and walking in the heat of the day.

Beautiful setting away from the crowds near Petra site. Good facilities.
Did not need clean towels every day for our 3 night stay. Sign on bathroom wall saying how Jordan has very little water & would we hang towels up if we did not want them washed. We did this and they were still taken away to be washed. A waste of water to wash them which was not necessary. No towels replaced until evening. System could be improved by replacing used towels with new ones at same time and hotel should be thinking of saving water & helping the environment.

This was an absolutely beautiful and unique resort full of personal charm. The service was amazing. We ordered room service because we were tired after spending the day in Petra and the food was outstanding. I would highly recommend this property. Overall had a lovely, two-night stay at the Old Village Resort. Our room was excellent, the service was great, and we enjoyed breakfast. Given the price, the bathrooms could be a little nicer (although they're perfectly functional), and it would make a huge difference if the outdoor pool were heated. (It was like dipping a toe in ice water.) But we would still certainly recommend this hotel. (The shuttle provided to Petra is very convenient.) We stayed with two children, aged 5 and 10.

A very welcoming and friendly staff. Wonderful breakfast and atmosphere. The sauna was great and stayed open until nine in the evening and opened at 7. I was able to get into the sauna and eat breakfast before heading out for the day. It is not a lush and luxury hotel as some expect with a five star. You will get a large and comfortable room, a large water, access to the pool, hot tub and sauna and a great meal in a beautiful hotel with a lovely view. This is exactly what I wanted.

The resort is nice, we liked the stone houses; would have loved to have stone walls also in the rooms instead of painted. The rooms are large and confortable. The sleeping quality is good.
The hotel seems a bit old though, due to some items that are overused, like towels. The spa/ pool area and also the bathroom could get some improvements as well.
The reception staff was not very friendly and unable to support with some Petra information, disappointing I would say. The shuttle service for the city center is very nice and the price is low. The transfer to Petra visitor center is free, a plus for the guests that do not have a rented car.

The resort is beautiful and reminds me of a Scottsdale Arizona resort just due to the spread out layout and use of golf carts to help people to their rooms. Our room was huge — comfortable king bed and separate sitting room. The resort really does feel like an old stone village (apparently its built on the remains of one) — the rooms feel almost like separate residences.

Breakfast was great — a big spread of many different foods both local/Jordanian and international. You can also get an omelette or egg cooked to order.

No alcohol on the premises, FYI, but we were able to bring our own for dinner. And there’s a charming man making sand art souvineers in the lobby.

Not walkable to Petra but honestly I preferred that because it’s nutty down by the Petra entrance. This was a pleasant change of pace after a day at Petra.

This place is lovely, essentially a collection of buildings so you have your own little cottage. Food was good, we had both dinner and breakfast. Pool was lovely and there was a warm, huge outdoor jacuzzi which was amazing!

Only issue really is that they say there are free shuttle buses to Petra. Whilst this is true, they only run twice per day, leaving the hotel at 7am then 8am and returning at either 12pm or 4pm. This means that if you want to go into Wadi Musa any other time you need to pay for a taxi. The hotel is up a steep hill so I doubt many would walk it. I expect this encourages people to eat at the hotel rather than in the town, so you can see why they do it.

Charming hotel with some shortfalls

There are some pros and cons worth being aware of. The friendly service was fantastic. I know everyone says that but it was really true here (and it seems to be true of most places in Jordan). The hotel has an individual charm with an interesting history and archeological features. It is too far to walk to the Petra visitor centre but offers a decent transport service if you don't have your own car. It is well run and generally good quality but well below the standard of a modern luxury hotel.

The room, though large, was quite spartan with a hard bed, and the toilet drain was smelly. Some of the design features were lacking e.g. lights you can turn off in bed, and the bathroom door knob made your hand scrape against the wall unless you were careful. I wasn't impressed with the cafes or the gym. I was impressed with the restaurant. The buffet was up to the standard of the other 3 Jordan hotels I stayed in, all of which were top end, and its desserts were the best out of all of them.

Quiet Oasis after the crowds

Excellent hotel! Super friendly staff. Even got an upgrade because of our anniversary. A 5 minute car ride to Petra visitor center but we did not mind as we had a driver for our Jordan trip. A perfect place to get away from the crowds once you are done with Petra. You walk so much during the day that we were delighted to find the heated indoor pool and outdoor jacuzzi. It was a perfect way to end the day.

A great getaway

The hotel is situated outside the hustle and bustle of the centre of Petra, so it's nice to get away to. The front desk staff are very welcoming as are all the staff in the restaurants.
The bathrooms could do with updating , however they are very clean. The towels are a little worn especially the ones for the swimming pool.
The food was very easy and had a very good selection and the views from the restaurant are incredible.

It is a beautiful luxury resort in the outskirts of Wadi Musa that is in a 400 year old group of buildings with a swimming pool, spa, outdoor and indoor restaurant and just 7 minutes from Petra. The staff is amazingly attentive, kind and helpful Very highly recommended!!

Great views good stay

Lovely hotel situated in a privileged area with an amazing views of the valley. The hotel is built in an old village with well decorated and furnished bedrooms.
Just take into account this views come with a price and that's to be bit far (10min ride) to petra visitor center. However the hotel provides shuttle service that can be handy if their schedule suits you, otherwise a driver will be required.
As a soft feedback, I'd like to mention the reception could improve communication upon arrival. For example we were not informed about Petra at night shuttle bus which we discovered by accident.

Despite that I would definitely go back to this hotel and we really enjoyed the service and care the personnel took of us.

This is a beautiful property with really great service and staff. I stayed there with family and we all really enjoyed it. The staff are very kind and helpful and the property itself is really well maintained and set up. The setting is beautiful and they have done a great job of creating an atmosphere that fits into the natural surroundings.

Transported to Another World

This was one of the most unique and phenomenal stays in a hotel that I have had. It really is an old village that has been reconstructed as a hotel. The room (or really an adorable stone home) is gorgeous and quite spacious. The staff is so sweet and accommodating; always going out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and everything is as perfect as possible. The pool area is HUGE and beautiful. The gym was a bit tiny and disappointing to me but everything else was great. Especially the food!!

Zimmer war toll und sauber, der Pool war super, das Resort auch sehr schön, Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich, nur das Essen würde ich bemängeln, hatten dort einmal Dinner und 2 Mal Frühstück. Wenig Auswahl, vor allem für 5 Sterne und geschmacklich war es auch nicht so toll.
