The property and location were decent. There were a pair of shoes left in the open in the room and hair on two of the beds indicating the room hadn’t been cleaned well. Dinner was offered without mention of payment, then when we sat down to eat we were informed there would be a charge. Overall it was a decent stay and very quiet.

Parking was very easy, and it’s about a 10 minute walk to an area with lots of restaurants. Less than a 10 minute drive to the Petra Visitor’s Center. Clean and comfortable. Good value for your money. The best part was the staff. So nice and they gave us a great restaurant recommendation!

Great location, rooms and manager

Stayed here one night before a day in Petra, Mohammed was very welcoming and so helpful with Petra tips. It was a good location, near restaurants, bars in Wadi Rum. The room was spacious and clean, no complaints whatsoever. The breakfast was a little basic for the price so you might want to give it a miss - plenty of better options in Petra itself, with a much better view!

Mr Mohammed and his family were the perfect hosts! We enjoyed our stay immensely and would come back. The rooms were spotless and comfortable. Mr Mohammed was efficient and knowledgeable about the area. His wife and daughters cook a traditional Dinner that is absolutely delicious, it is additional, but you definitely don’t want to pass it up!

We loved everything about our stay at Petra Guests Hotel. We were traveling with our 3 children and loved that the room was spacious enough to accommodate us all in one room. The hotel had an amazing view from the mountain overlooking the valley and is only 2 minute drive from Petra. The breakfast was delicious and we also decided to stay for dinner one night and they cooked local cuisine which was delicious- would highly recommend! Mohammed the owner went above and beyond with us and our children; it felt like family. We would definitely go back.

Simple and clean

The hotel was rather basic for western standards but the room was clean the the manager catered to my every wish.
The views from the room window was amazing.
I recommend it for a budget trip.

Best value in Petra

Hotels in Petra tend to be very expensive, but this turned out to be an absolute bargain and I can't recommend it highly enough. Our only issue was that it was cold at night and we couldn't work out how to put the heater on in our room. Everything else was great, and I would definitely stay there again.

Muhammed, the proprietor, greeted us like we were long lost relatives. His small hotel feels more like a home, with a comfortable living room and a large dining room where he served us delicious Jordanian foods. He gave us excellent advice about navigating the ruins of Petra and provided us with maps showing us trails that would not be swamped with tourists. We stayed 3 nights and would have like to stay longer - maybe next time!

Basic hotel walkable to town centre

Basic hotel. My room was shared toilet/bathroom. Mohammed at Reception is very friendly and helpful. There is no air conditioner or fan in the room but the weather was not too hot so it was not a problem. There is no drinking water in the room. Room is clean but basic.

Very hospitable host

We did not feel like we were staying in a hotel but we were guests in Mohamed’s home. This place feels more like a bed and breakfast because Mohamed will make sure you don’t just come here to sleep but will fill any spare time you have in the hotel with showing you around, conversation, and teaching how to make local foods. If you are looking for a very personal and local Jordanian experience this is the place to go.
The rooms were also very clean and comfortable and the food was very good.

Overall it wasn’t too bad , location is up on the hill so a short taxi ride to the Main Street and Petra (2JD)
The food was average. We came back from Petra the first day and the room hadn’t been cleaned, but this was soon rectified. Also the doors are paper thin, we had noisy people staying next door and you could hear everything The killer was the welcome tea drink which the owner charged us for on checkout, a bit tight I think.

The Hotel is spotless, cleaner than most 5 star hotels. I couldnt recommend this hotel highly enough.

We (four friends) had a lovely stay at Petra Guests Hotel (Guesthouse). The 4 person room (2nd floor) we had was spacious and extremely clean and offered a good size ensuite bathroom and comfortable beds!

The breakfast was simple but provided many options and for an included price was a nice addition. The drive to Petra entrance is 5-mins and the guesthouse offers secure parking.

Mohammed was very helpful, kind and responded quickly to any requests we had. This is a good option for and overnight stay while at Petra!

Pros: Very close to Petra (not walking distance, but 7 min drive), very affordable for such a location, great host and nice breakfast. Cons: this is definitely not a 3* hotel, it's a hostel. We booked a twin room with a shared toilet - there's one Western-style toilet for the entire floor of at least 5-7 rooms (with at least 2 people in each room), which was clogged in the morning. The hole-style toilet was working, but it wasn't clean, didn't have a flush; it was full of flies and looked absolutely apocalyptic. The showers are right opposite the hole-style toilet cabins, so you can enjoy the lovely smell, while waiting for the water to heat up. Also, there is not enough hot water for all these people on your floor. Add 100 flies flying around and a couple of sinks where people clean their teeth and you'll see the whole picture. If you book a room with an en-suite bathroom, you'll have a totally different experience though - similar to what you see in the hotel photos! So unless you're a seasoned backpacker that is used to any conditions and no soundproofing at all, book the room of the highest category.

Sorry, nice people but this is not a hotel. It's an old school being converted into a hostel. Shared bathrooms on each floor. Showers were hideous and dirty. Almost all toilets are squat style.

This place might be ok for some budget travels but does not live up to western standards. I don't know who's writing all the positive reviews.

Best Hotel in Petra!

We loved everything about this hotel.
From our warm and genuine welcome after a long trip from Australia Mohammad made us feel so at home. We were greeted with a beautiful and enormous meal of chicken, rice and salads.
The hotel is in a great location, it is safe, clean and really well run.
Mohammad is a really genuinely nice guy. He said that he wanted us to feel at home, and he meant it. He did everything he could to help us with our stay in Petra, even arranging a gentle tour for us on our first afternoon (we had just travelled for 24 hours) and our journey to the Aqaba border including a little 4wd tour around Wadi Rum.
We loved staying at Petra Princes hotel. We heartily recommend this hotel to you if you are a practical traveler looking for good value accommodation that is comfortable, clean and safe.

Almost as memorable as Petra!

We stayed here for three days, and when we left, it felt like we were leaving our long-lost Jordanian family.

Mohammed, the hotel owner, is one of the most genuinely hospitable people you’ll ever meet. It’s not an act or a sales job: he’s just endlessly warm, and bends over backward to take care of his guests.

We’re traveling with our 1-year-old daughter, and Mohammed treated her like his own grandchild. Whenever he thought something would make our baby’s stay better – a room with a larger bed, some extra blankets, milk, fruit, a home-baked cookie – he offered it without hesitation.

Our little one became pals with Mohammed’s own granddaughter, and spent plenty of time in the kitchen with his family – which gave Mom and Dad some extra time to enjoy our meals.

And the meals were the very best we ate in Jordan! This is homemade food, prepared by Mohammed’s wife and daughters – maqluba, mansaf, fresh falafel, home-baked cookies and cakes – and it’s MUCH better than anything you’ll eat in a restaurant.

(If you manage to finish an entire dinner, send me a message, and I’ll fly to wherever you are in the world to shake your hand personally. I’m not even kidding.)

So if you want a sterile, fancy hotel, I’m sure that several exist somewhere in Wadi Musa. But if you want to experience life with wonderful Jordanians who will make you feel like family, come here. I promise that you won’t regret it.

Wonderful stay in family owned hotel. Amazing food

Mohammed went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcomed! The rooms are very spacious, and the shower has very hot water which we did not find in many places in Jordan. Definitely have at least one dinner there, the food is amazing local dishes freshly cooked at his hotel. We also enjoyed little home made cakes and sweets in the afternoon. We couldn’t have imagined a better stay near Petra!

I booked this charming hotel at the last minute based on the outstanding reviews I read online. The reviews didn't lie, my stay at the Petra was amazing. The owner, Mohammed went above and beyond to ensure I had a pleasant stay. The hotel is beautifully decorated and extremely clean. I was shocked with how large the room was and the gorgeous modern bathroom. I truly felt at home. There was a heater/AC in the room and plenty of hot water.

The hotel is about 15 minutes walking from Petra. I was concerned about it being too far. However, once there you appreciate the quietness and away from the hustle and bustle after sightseeing all day. The views from the room were picturesque during the day and night.

I enjoyed my best meal throughout my travels in Jordan at this hotel. I started with this delicious soup that warmed my insides, lol. The main dish I think was called, \"Madi.\" It was chicken, rice with herbs and peanuts, wow wow wow so flavorful. I had my meal delivered to my room because I was exhausted from my day out at Petra. For breakfast, I had a traditional Jordanian spread which was way too much for me to eat. Muhammad provided a complimentary snack pack for me for my day trip to Petra. I just can't say enough about the hospitality. I was treated like a queen, shruka Muhammad. :-)

We have just stayed here and it is lovely! The hotel is very clean and Mohammed is an excellent host! He went above and beyond what was expected of him. I would highly recommend staying in the hotel, on arrival we got a room upgrade and Mohammed made some lovely food for us and brought it to the room which was much needed after a long day travelling and visiting the Dead Sea! Breakfast was amazing with so much choice of food. Our second night Mohammed made us a traditional Jordanian meal for guests, which again there was plenty of food and it was delicious. The view from the hotel over Wadi Musa is one not to be missed, through day and night.
Overall we had an amazing stay here and will be returning in the future

Cancele la reserva con suficiente tiempo, en razón en que en Petra se inundó y estaban evacuando los turistas. Y aun así cobraron la reserva sin utilizar el servicio. Me parece no adecuado ese procedimiento.

Unforgettable holiday.

We felt as if we were visiting family, Mohamed welcomed us in such a warm way, like long time friends, food was amazing, unbeatable location.
Mohamed gave us incredible tips to enjoy Petra and Wadi Rum desert.
He arranged transfer from the airport and it was very convenient after a long flight and also from Petra to Madava with a short stop at the dead sea.

L’accueil est fantastique, le petit déjeuner très correct...
Mais nous avons été logés au rez de chaussée avec des sanitaires communs plutôt sales et basiques (wc à la turque) et une chambre très limite et froide ..
Les chambres des étages semblent d’un meilleur confort.
Évitez donc les chambres du réz de chaussée
