The location of the hotel is great and the sea view is very nice (for sea view rooms).
Furniture and rugs need deep cleaning.

Must read before choosing this place. Sorry.

Unfortunately, despite the good to excellent scores on many sites, our experience did not meet our expectations. The building is old, the Elevators are tiny and scary, and one of the two was out of order nearly every day. The rooms were dirty, the Carpets were old, and there was dust everywhere. When we moved a sofa to pick something up, it was obvious that the area had not been cleaned in many years. The air conditioning, although cooling, was not removing moisture from the rooms, and everything that was not closed in the suitcases was moist. We rented two rooms, and both had an issue.
The first room that we received, the toilet was pouring water on the floor from the wall connection, which they had to move us out.
We stay in Prima Raanana many times, it is 100% better than the TLV one, except for the Beach proximity.
The continental breakfast at the hotel is not close in quality and variety to the ones in other hotels that we stayed in Israel in the past.
Other hotels that seem to have lower ratings in Tel Aviv with similar price ranges are much more accommodating.
Live and learn! We paid in advance as usual for Hotels.com; otherwise, we would move out after the first day. In the end, our vacation was nice, but we returned with one sick kid and most of us not feeling great due to the hotel.
One thing that I must state is that the Hotel staff was fairly reasonable and responsive during the stay.

Great location but…..

We returned to stay at the Prima Hotel as we had good memories of our previous stay 10 years ago. The room was small and slightly neglected but with a magnificent view of the Mediterranean. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful.
Can’t beat the location.

I had a great stay at Prima Tel Aviv. The room was small but comfortable and clean. There was some road noise from the busy Tel Aviv streets but it quieted down. I paid for breakfast, and while the selection was not as extensive as at some of the larger, more expensive hotels, what I had was delicious.

Comfort and Friendliness with a View

My sister and I were in Israel for 24 days, and we came back to the Prima Tel Aviv twice. We paid a slight upgrade so we'd have the incredible view of the sea and some extra seating to spread out over 3-day weekends. The staff was terrific--they greeted us like old friends on our second stay. The buffet breakfast is wonderful and delicious. The location is within easy walking distance of restaurants, shopping, and of course the beach and the promenade. It's a fairly small hotel so it feels very homey--the lobby is comfortable and always offers hot coffee or tea. We loved the Prima and will surely come back again.

Wonderful location, comfortable bed, and fabulous staff! They were very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again. The breakfast was fine, albeit a bit short for us vegans.
The only negative was the elevators, which were quite small and didn't have automatically opening doors.

Poor value for money - stay away

Definitely not a 4* hotel and the level of cleanness and maintenance is not even meeting the expectations for a 3* one. Everything in the room is in a dire state - soiled and dirty sofa, missing lights, dirty air conditioner and vent, windows have apparently not been cleaned in this century. There's no iron in the room and you need to go to the basement where there's a dirty iron with a broken power cable, so use it at your own risk of electrocution

Two cons - one is that beacuase the windows are not sound proof, and the location is very central. there is lots of noise from the outside during the night.
The 2nd is about the misleading information - the ad shows that the hotel provieds parking (there is a P symbol), in actual life it doesn't.

There is a very popular Greek restaurant located on the ground floor called yassou. At night starting around 9pm the restaurant begins loud thumping vibrating disco music that amplifies through the walls, even to our fourth floor, and just doesn’t stop until 1:30 am. In spite of calling desk multiple times and their repeated apologies nothing is done and sleep is impossible . It’s really a shame since otherwise the hotel is great. But being unable to sleep due to incessant bass is just not feasible.

Overall disappointed about my stay in this hotel, although the location is very good and the staff was friendly, the Wifi doesn't work well which makes it hard for business travelers. In addition, the windows are not noise proof and it was really noisy from the street, the air-condition and ventilation system needs attention as well, as it brings bad smell to the room. I would not recommend at all.

The location of the Prima is absolutely fantastic. It is so close to the beach - Frishman Beach. The breakfasts are very nice in the mornings. Great service at both the front desk and for breakfast. We got a sea view room so our room faced directly onto the beach which was amazing. Every afternoon, they have coffee, tea, water and snacks available for free in the lobby which is really nice after taking long walks or going to the beach. Good proximity to restaurants and bars.

The Cons - if you are sensitive to noise at night - there is a bar downstairs facing the beach and they play loud music until about midnight. Luckily we tended to go to bed after midnight but it is definitely loud. Also, the beds could use some replacement - not very comfortable.

This place was great for an affordable option by the sea! Our room was just as the picture on Orbitz shows. The staff kept it absolutely neat and clean for our whole stay. The front desk staff were always helpful. The daily happy hour had a nice selection of breads, cheeses, veggies, cappucino and etc. The location is perfect - literally out the front door and 2 minute walk to the beach or a 10 minute walk to the shops, restaurants and nightlife on Dizengoff. The only drawback is the traffic noise which does go well into the night. If you're a light sleeper bring earplugs and you will be fine.

A Pleasant Stay in Tel Aviv

I stayed at the Prima Tel Aviv hotel for just a few days but really enjoyed it. Walking distance to some places of interest, like the Old Town of Jaffa. The promenade by the beach was delightful and few steps from the hotel, the complimentary afternoon snacks was a lovely addition, there was cappuccino, croissants and other goodies. My room was comfortable and clean. And a friendly staff to boast.

I had a great stay there my 1st 2 days in Israel. The bar in the basement is a bit noisy and can be loud for 15-20 minutes when they let out at the end of the night. But the room was great (although small by American standards). But the morning breakfast buffet is off the charts, and a 2 minute walk(depending on the crosswalk lights) to the beach is a definite plus. I would (and have) recommend(ed) this place to all my friends! Well worth the money spent!!!

Loud music until 1am, not recommended!

Just stay one night for business trip, had a sea view room on the 1st floor, all was fine at check in and room just as expected. However when we got back after dinner at around 10, realised that the hotel restaurant was playing very loud music. The restaurant has a balcony also by the sea side hence my room is right on top of it. By 10:30 i wanted to sleep so I called the reception to tell that the music was too loud. The guy that answered the phone said he can come to my room and check, I was like so you don’t believe me?! Anyway I told him do not come but please do talk to the restaurant. Half an hour later at 11pm no improvement I called again and then a girl answered, I repeat my complaint and she didn’t even sound empathetic. I was very tired and then fell asleep anyway, but woke up around mid-night and music was still very loud! I called again and found out that restaurant closes at 1am and that’s it! The next morning my colleagues and me all make a complaint at check-out, finally they gave us each 10% off, but really they don’t even seem apologetic. If it is more important to run the restaurant then they shouldn’t sell rooms by the sea side a a higher price, we all expect a nice stay by the sea but not to sleep on top of a night club!

An unexpected treat.

A little hidden jewel that was totally positive in every way. I had no idea or expectations but couldn't ask for more especially when considering the price. This hotel's location is terrific - about a 100 feet (30 meters) from the beach and a walking distance to many points of interest. The management provides a pretty elaborate daily snack and beverage spread, and there is a very cozy terrace on which to enjoy it. The rooms are modern and clean (some could be a little larger, perhaps). The beds are comfortable. The staff is very helpful and polite. Our stay was certainly good enough to plan another visit. Thank you for a very pleasant experience, Prima.

Ear plugs essential!

This is an excellent hotel for people who are planning a beach holiday - the beach is a couple of minutes walk away and, even though I had a room on the side of the hotel, I still had a nice view of the sea. However, my main criterion for a hotel is whether I can get a quiet room and a good night's sleep. This hotel has an extremely busy road both at the front and back of the hotel with heavy traffic day and night. That wouldn't be a problem if the rooms had soundproof double-glazing but the windows in this hotel have a small opening which the manager said was for drainage. This meant that the difference to noise levels was negligible whether the window was open or shut. I barely slept at all the first night and went out and bought earplugs the next day which I don't like to use. They helped and I got some sleep the second night. The staff do everything possible to look after the guests with lots of little extra touches but, in my view, I don't see how this hotel can call itself 4* until they replace the windows.

On a smaller point, as one of the other reviewers pointed out, the sheets used for the single beds are too small and can't be tucked in - they just sit on top of the mattress like a table cloth. This added to my discomfort on the first night as the sheet gradually rolled itself up into a ball. They changed it for me on the second day but as it had already been mentioned on here as a problem, why do they continue to use sheets that they know are too small?

The room is so small that if your on the toilet your knees are in the shower. NO JOKE! Staff was not friendly, requested towels because the shower is set up where water goes everywhere. Guest Services argued with me and told me they can't give me the amount of towels I wanted. This has never happened in any other hotel. Very beachy vibe which was nice. Breakfast was ok, food was as cold as the people serving it. No good morning or anything. I could understand food being cold on Shabbat, but why no stereos during the week? They said a snack would be served daily during happy hour. I was there for 5 nights and saw it being done twice. If your looking for a five star hotel keep on looking.

The hotel is small lots of construction nearby and missing a friendly vibe. Smelled smoke from a cigarette both nights of our stay and staff did not seem to address the matter. Also had very loud neighbors.

Disappointing. On a busy street, very very noisy rooms ... if you stay here you will need ear plugs to get to sleep. No sea view from the room. Only goods points were a very nice front desk guy and it is a block from the sea. I would not recommend this hotel nor will I stay there again.

Worst stay! Management is not customer friendly.

Having stayed in over a 100 hotels world-wide. This has to be the worst experience!
1) We arrived at 10:30 PM after a long day from Jordan, hoping to get some rest before our tour the at 9AM next day
2) We had booked Superior rooms (Sea-View). We were allocated two rooms on the 1st floor.
3) After more than an hour of running the AC, the rooms were still very hot and uncomfortable. We complained and were informed that the AC system had been shut down for the winter. They did provide us with a pedestal fan. It still made for a very uncomfortably hot night.
4) To mke things worse, at 545AM we were woken by a very strong chemical paint thinner smell coming from the vents. The windows were sealed shut, we opened the front doors and the smell was everywhere. It was so bad that my wive's eyes were watering and I had a headache. The front desk informed us that it was due to construction in their basement. They suggested we come and sit in the balcony by their lobby at 6AM!!!???
5) We suggested that they move us to rooms where we could open the windows. They did that and we were moved into smaller rooms without a view where the windows could open. We packed up our stuff and moved rooms. We needed to rest.
6) The open windows made the air breathable but the loud street noises made rest impossible.
7) We left for our tour at 9AM and we left a note to the management to provide a partial refund for the extreme inconvenience. We received a curt decline 3 days later. Ugh!!

Good location, good staff, but not unique

The place was decent, and the location is very nice. Most of the staff are also friendly.

However, there are certain problems, notably the thin walls, certain cleaning staff who didn't clean up my room too well, very slow wifi, leakage of water into room etc.

Therefore, I would say the place is alright, but definitely not great.

Overall Hotel is nice and in very nice location. Though price doesn't match the service and condition of Hotel. From burnt Iron , to no toiletries(No Dental Kit) though was written in Bathroom that you get any anything you forget. Room was not cleaned properly everyday, there was dust on table and Bed. Any used coffee , tea bags were not usually removed. There was water leakage in the room , so they kept towels on the floor close to the wall. Location was good. Once in a while free snacks/coffee was good. Breakfast was the best part of the hotel.

I had a very comfortable stay at Prima Tel Aviv Hotel. I was with a group tour to Bethlehem and Jerusalem. After the tour I spent two days iin Tel Aviv for R&R. I opted to go solo on my hotel accommodation. The room though small is very clean. It is very close to the beach on the Mediterranean Sea. I chose breakfast in the hotel for extra $10 and it is well worth it with wide buffet selection. If you enjoy sun bathing and taking a dip in the sea, this is the place to be if you are on a budget. There are pubs close by for beer or drinks. I give it a 4 1/2 stars.

Great hotel, open bathroom

Great stay! :) The only weird thing was that the bathroom had a door which didn't shut off the bathroom completely. Doing a number 2 was a bit annoying with the other person in the room.

Get the Sea view- Worth it!

Overall my experience was great. The staff was helpful, but I wish they had been more friendly and open to accommodating small requests. It felt like they were annoyed with simple questions and guidance on the area, etc. Additionally, as a frequent traveler, it is important to have water in my room. They only offered two bottles for the entire stay (two days) and you had to pay for extra. I had a double bed room, so it should have been four bottles as per standard hotels. I highly recommend getting a room with a Sea view. Worth it! Overall, great area, nice and comfortable boutique hotel.

Breakfast Buffet and View!!!

This is my second time staying at Prima Tel Aviv. It is in a great location and the hotel has everything I need. I LOVE the breakfast buffet. It is over looking the Sea and is absolutely beautiful!

Great place!

I would stay again in this hotel. The location was excellent, the room was spacious, the mid afternoon snack was nice to enjoy. The only negativity was we had to park a car in a lot next door and pay for it daily in local cash.
