As soon as I arrived in the rental car, the Bell Captain (Jerry) immediately welcomed me and assisted me with my luggage, and parking the car, (I am slightly handicapped, with a cane...) and guided me to the front desk, where the gentleman who checked me in and got me my room key also helped me.

When I got to the room, (Jerry the Bell Captain helped me with the luggage up to the room and showed me the thermostat workings,) I was very pleased with the room and the upper floor I was on, and the balcony, along with the view.

The Breakfast was excellent and my stay at the Renaissance Tel Aviv was everything I had hoped for, and was not disappointed as what I had seen on the web when I booked was exceeded by the reality of what the hotel (and the helpful staff) actually was.

I will book there again, thank you.

The door to my room would not close unless you slammed it. I reported this to reception. Nothing was done. I left at 0830 and put the green light on to clean the room but at 1:30 when I wanted to rest the room still had not been cleaned. There is a piece of plastic forming a short of barrier to keep the water from the shower from getting into the rest of the bathroom. It has really gross mold growing under it and in general the shower is gross. Given the price of this hotel, this is surprising and totally unacceptable.

Overall, a decent 5-star hotel, located on the vibrant Tel Aviv beach promenade. Great sea view, nice indoor pool with jacuzzi and sauna. Very good breakfast. Paid parking is not always available. We enjoyed our 2 nights stay there for the New 2023 Year.

We were most impressed by the attentiveness of the staff at breakfast! Disappointment - resulted in initial room selection; that was corrected by the hotel. I forgot to forego the hotel selection, due the block of rooms reserved for Expedia customers which is always below being mediocre…won’t do this again. Our room had some temperature challenges, but we’re fixed immediately. My husband was stopped by security and he said, and I quote, “Can I help you and do you have a room in this hotel?” 5 of us we’re entering the hotel and he was the only one approached. Outside of these experiences…Overall, this is a great hotel!!

The location with direct access to the beach is priceless. Dining options around the hotel also very good. In hotel dining limited to the famous Israeli breakfast. But the hotel is going through renovation, so it’s noisy & dusty. Also, no assistance to help with luggage, no small fridge in the room to keep drinking water cool. Hopefully these are temporary issues bc the location is great and the rooms are spacious. The location will keep me coming back.

Great location. The hotel was in poor condition. In the process of pressure washing and painting. Noise, fumes, paint flakes everywhere. Unable to use balcony as filthy. Workmen going passed balcony in transport basket. Unable to order room service. Why? Manager says no. All in all the hotel and staff are worn out. Sheraton next door far better.

Renaissance Needs a Renaissance

The hotel is falsely advertised as a high quality/luxury hotel and does not warrant the added expense. Hotels of a similar state with far better amenities and services were priced far less. The 'Marriott' brand affiliation suggests that the hotel should be of a certain quality, but it's tired, old, and in need of renovation. The room I had, had weak air-conditioning, a mini-bar fridge that was discontinued use and no fridge, bugs were found in the room and bed on three occasions, and getting the service of the staff was hard. (Remember, when you're paying $500+ a night these are the things that matter ...). There was also a charge for an extended stay on the Sabbath for 4 hours, which other hotels waive with no issue. Other hotels on the beachfront (i.e., the Dan Panorama, have an outdoor pool, 24-hour room service, and other amenities that equal or are better than the Renaissance). I felt taken advantage of in terms of price for experience, particularly as a frequent Marriott customer and large conference manager at Marriott properties worldwide.

Very good in some aspects, unacceptable in others

On the positive side, the staff were all courteous, polite and helpful and always eager to help. The hotel is clean, tidy and comfortable and our floor (7th) appeared to have been renovated not long ago. The location of the hotel is very good, convenient both for beach (a few steps from the rear entrance) and city centre. However, there were some serious negatives. The minibar was out of commission, there was no fridge in the room (unforgivable for such a hot climate), there was no hotel services directory either in the room or otherwise available (\"Just ask whatever you want and we'll tell you\") and, worst of all, the sun deck was out of commission for our entire visit (in July!!!) with nowhere to sunbathe or relax outside. To be told that the beach was just on the doorstep wasn't good enough. There were also building works going on outside the hotel during our stay. With all that, the positives just about outweighed the negatives but next time we're in town we'll stay elsewhere.

Just had a one night stop over. The hotel would have been beautiful ‘in its day’. However, it’s been left uncared for. Maintenance was poor, cleanliness average. The room was baking hot, yet with the small window open, the noise from nearby bars broke my sleep. Wouldn’t recommend.

נהננו מאוד מהחופשה בת 3 הימים בת\"א. המלון היה מצויין, הוא ממוקם באזור מעולה מול חוף ים נפלא. החדר היה נקי מאוד, לצערנו המקרר לא היה שמיש אפילו לשמירת בקבוקי מים. השתמשנו יום יום בחדר הכושר המאובזר יפה, יש מקום לשיפור מבחינת הניקיון בחדר הכושר. חדר האוכל היה מצויין ומגוון המאכלים בו היה נפלא.

We overall had a nice time at the hotel, but the hotel itself was disappointing. The room was quite small, there was no fridge (we wanted to store milk and water), and the double bed was actually two twin beds joined together. Breakfast was also disappointing: a small selection of foods compared to a traditional breakfast at an Israeli hotel. On the plus side, the pool was nice and there is direct access to the beach. Guest services was helpful when we asked for more towels and soap.

Everything was perfect except for the food service. I realize this is the time of Covid19 but miss the old way food was served at the buffet. Also there is no lunch or dinner food service. The quality of the breakfast was not good. Serving many items like cheese and tuna in plastic tins was awful. Coffee bar was very good. I want my old life back again! I’m sure the hotel does too.

The hotel was under construction but no one would have care to tell me it.
The room was full of terrible noises like we are in construction site.
As a result, we decided to cancel the reservation and I had to look for other place for my mom (the room was for her, I just assist her in the check in procedures).
It's a SHAME for the Renaissance hotel and for hotels website that they didn't inform us that the vacation is going to be in a construction site !!

Nice as always - some points to think about.

Always my go to hotel in Tel Aviv when I want the feel of a proper hotel. Rooms and service are always good. It's an expensive option which give that they are renovating and there is some noise, they ought to think about the rates. I was on a lower floor above the offices and you can hear every noise that someone makes from the floor below, whether its moving furniture (which is quite often by the sound of things). I would also like better sound proofing in the rooms and corridors. You can hear every word when late arrivals come in or just those who have no volume control or thought/consideration for other guests.Apart from that - no complaints

The hotel is located right on the beach and has a very nice pool. breakfast was very good. We had an issue with tea/coffee but his was resolved quickly by housekeeping.

Building works were taking place which we did not know about. The noise began around 9am on working days and continued until around 4pm. There was no indication on the Expedia site that this work was taking place.

The bar was closed most nights even when advertised as open.

Nice location but everything else was a little of a let down. The service can be improved and it always take time to get help from receptionist staff. I stayed there for five nights, but the first couple of night I was placed to stayed on the floor that has some room renovation/maintenance work going on. Next morning after my second night (the morning of New Year, Jan 1) I was woke up by the sound of renovation works that keep going for hours. I had to ask to change the room to a different floor, which mean i have to repack and relocate all suitcases again... I which I could say I enjoyed my stay there but sadly I couldn't think of anything else to say beside a good location of the property.

location it was right on the beach. didnt like cleanliness. the first room had a dirty bath! when i called guest services all they did was call the cleaners to clean it. i had to call twice. eventually i had to call reception and they moved me to another room and sadly the shower floor had a yellow blob on the corner floor which was clearly soap scum. My room was very clean with a beautiful view, steps away from the beach. I only stayed a day but the staff was kind and friendly. My only issued was the blow dryer didn't work I felt I had some issues with charging my phone but they loan me an adapter for my phone for a small deposit they give back once you return it back to them.

The property is in the most populous as area, however nice the location to the beach is: the breakfast and the above average staff: that’s where the complements end. The hotel is dated from the three rooms I was offered to the overall decor. It’s has great potential and for the value it’s on par with what’s around.

The Renaissance needs a Renaissance.

The hotel is being refurbished and under construction. The rooms are damp and smelly. When one seeks to opens the window, one is assaulted by construction noise such as jackhammering, spray washing, etc. The staff is indifferent.

Renaissance Tel Aviv

The hotel is undergoing a major renovation. So, some parts were newly renovated which were beautiful and others were very old and run down including the lounge floor. I requested a renovated room with a sea view and my request was fulfilled which was great! The building was situated, which a lot of them are, where all of the rooms are on the sides so none have a full sea view like other hotels have further up the beach strip. Everyone working at the hotel was very nice and helpful. The only major problem was it’s at the far south end of the strip which has a lot of traffic passing by all the time to get around Tel Aviv so the rooms can be noisy. Because there is only one hotel further it was very hard to get a taxi if not almost impossible because no one stops. Surprisingly the bell man was of no help to get one either which seemed weird...not sure if the hotel has any connections or the taxis don’t like to stop there. Regardless, you can walk everywhere if you are up to it. My stay was very pleasant overall.

We will be back! The hotel is located at the North of Tel Aviv where the beach is most active and fun. I wouldn’t eat here in the restaurant but the facility is clean and well kept and the staff are very helpful.

stayed there 19 days , clean room only around 3h30 pm everyday , after cleaning room still dirty. balcony was full of sand after of week i could have build a sand castle, the balcony window stayed dirty through all my stay, left empty box of Kleenex , took 2 days to replace after asking for it. had to ask for towels after she had clean room several time , she forgets to put new ones, had dirty glass never replaced, they changed my pillow they smelled like gaz leak complained 3 times, i had to sleep on folded blanket , the carpet was filthy , left a chips on purpose took them 4 days to pickup. bottom line disaster. it is a motel but they charge you as 4 star hotel.
