Not much shopping nearby except a women’s clothing store in the casino. We smelled smoke that must have been coming through the vents so it stank a lot even though it was a non smoking room. The room was nice and modern. No microwaves though.

We arrived at The Scarlet Pearl around 4 PM and had some initial check-in confusion through Expedia, but the VIP staff quickly resolved it and moved us to a non-smoking room on a different floor. The room was beautiful, everything worked perfectly, and the harbor view was amazing.
The hotel has a nice pool area, and mini golf is available on weekends with a free round and $20 slot play if you have a player’s card. Parking was easy and convenient.
Most staff were just “doing their job,” but the VIP desk staff and the casino desk clerk were exceptionally helpful. Unfortunately, the bartender at the bar was very rude and inattentive, which made playing video poker there frustrating.
Pros: beautiful rooms, great views, pool, mini golf, helpful VIP/casino staff, convenient parking.
Cons: initial check-in confusion, some staff disengaged, bar service very slow/rude.
Overall, once we were in the right room, our stay was enjoyable, though inconsistent service affected parts of the experience.

Room was excellent, I've stayed here 5 times this year working in the area. Wont be returning, getting to the room is luke Going through a military checkpoint. Cant take coolers, guests cant come to room unless they are registered. Wife left her purse in the room and even though we had been through the checkpoint numerous timesthey would not allow her to get on the elevator.
I have played numerous games inside the casino, very low win payouts. If you are ok with the extreme security measures go for it. If not i don't recommend.

The rooms here are beautiful and the views are absolutely stunning—definitely a highlight of the stay. Just a heads-up for fellow travelers: the beds and pillows are quite firm. On the gaming side, I found the slots to be pretty tight and didn't have much luck. I was also a bit disappointed that there was no 'birthday' free play or recognition during my visit, despite it being my special day.

Always like the Scarlet Pearl but this time was a little bit disappointing. I asked for a room that was away from the elevators and ice machine, i got a room directly across from the ice machine and jst around the corner from the elevators. The room was clean but I found a broken up ear ring on the bathroom floor and some hairs in the shower. The pillows in this room were so firm it made it uncomfortable to sleep on them. Overall I still enjoy this property.

The major issue for us was the heavy presence of cigarette smoke in our room. It is to be expected on the casino floor but the smell stretched far beyond that and seemed to be coming from the walls in our room near the bed.
