Great stay, great location, good food.

From our room, there was an amazing view of the beach, easy access to main areas and the beach, buffet breakfast had many options. Wifi was generally OK and could be accessed from the rooftop pool area, that also had plenty of shade to avoid the hot sunshine.

Over the past 40 years I have stayed at the Grand Beach Hotel on numerous occassions and have always returned because I have found it comfortable, convenient and the kosher catering has always been good. The hotel rooms appear to have recently undergone redecoration though the furnishings are unchanged and a bit worn. On this occassion, I found that there were a number of new younger staff members at reception who I found to be very impersonal and less friendly and did not seem to take interest in the guests. The one older gentleman in reception who I have come across on previous visits was friendly and good mannered as previously experienced. I am not sure whether it is because the hotel caters to many organised tour groups which only stay for a day or two, but I still feel that the reception staff should pay more attention to friendly good manners and be more attentive to guests, especially recognising those like myself who usually stay for a week or more at the hotel

The hotel was nothing like the pictures. I expected for it to not be the BEST but it was awful. very outdates, not clean and the staff was not friendly when I tried to upgrade my rooms for a better quality. We ended up leaving and finding another hotel because we were so disappointed.

Rooms are nice! Bathroom is small! Pool deck and pool area needed cleaning and updating. Buffet was okay! But not worth the price they charge. It is better to eat out. Dining staff is very friendly. Very noisy at night on floor 6. Running and yelling 12 am and 1 am in the morning.

The location is the most ideal. Beach view, beach across the street, close to the park disengoff food and fun. And it’s israel so lots of points from the get go just for that. Everyone is great and it’s great to be among it all. As far as the hotel, the rooms are small. Cute, but occasional bugs incl little roaches and that’s a hard limit. Most of all Wi-Fi in the rooms is not good - and that’s a big one. Had to go to the lobby for any kind of good connection. This issue should be immediately fixed - good Wi-Fi should be a given, full stop.
So, not bad, and also good price. But could be improved.

I was trying to cancel and refund or postpone my reservation at the Grand Beach Hotel but the published number was not working. Expedia didn't bother to ask what they are able to do for me. I knew if I take the flight from Toronto, on arrival I was to stay in quarantine for 2 weeks.

We had a two-night stay at this hotel - one night before our wedding and the day of wedding. It was after long 12 hours of flight. With a hope to get a good night sleep, upon reservation we wrote an email requesting a king bed (online search showed they had the king beds) and nice pillows. When we arrived, the staff was very rude during our check-in. They seemed bored and had no initiative to help us resolve the problem, which was our request upgrading to a room with the queen or king bed instead of two twin beds. The rooms are tiny. Not worthy the value paid. Room smelled cigarettes.
When we went for breakfast, we felt like we were at the take away place. Lack of nice design, organization, cleanness, and food looked either undercooked or overcooked and no taste at all. It was loud and mostly from people working there.
I can't give it even a two star.
The hotel rooms and hotel itself could use a lot of remodeling. Quite outdated and smells old.

Okay, and reasonable value. It certainly doesnt quite come up to the other big hotels near the beach front but you don't go looking for a beach front hotel and then just spend your day in the hotel. Certainly far from luxury but good enough to feel comfortable.

It’s a good place to stay at, it includes a complete, delicious and nutritional breakfast with your stay. Dinner is quite expensive, it’s $50 per person, I suggest you walk outside and eat locally. Their first aid kit needs to be updated, only bandaids and eye wash available, they have not had time to refill as per staff memeber. Other than that it’s a doable place.

The room was clean, if a bit frayed around the edges. The air conditioning was just okay, and didn't really get cold. Also the vents looked dirty.

The bedspread was worn.

But the absolute worst part was the swarm 18 and 20 year old zonta cleats that just took over all the facilities in the hotel. Maybe I just came at the wrong time, but those kids are terrible.

The lifeguard Chezi was a dream... every day he would talk with us, give tips on where to go and was very friendly and helpful. He made our trip very special.
The security manager however was rude and there was an incident when he wouldn’t allow our friends who travelled from Jerusalem to enter the hotel and he was very aggressive.

We ended up leaving before we could check in. We walked into the smelly lobby to find the one desk attendant with his feet on the desk. As we proceeded to check in, the printer wasn’t working so he didn’t know what to do. We then pointed out a second printer and he said that too was broken. We told him he could copy our passports in the business center and he said he couldn’t do that. 20 minutes later a manager who was just as incompetent came by and wasn’t sure what to do. At that point we asked them to cancel our reservation and we booked elsewhere.

This hotel is big but certainly not grand. It is outdated, both in appearance and service. It is reminiscent of a former soviet block. It mainly caters for large tour groups and American student groups and thus resembles a large dormitory where the youth run amok and the staff couldn’t care less. Our first night was a disaster with us and other older guests complaining to reception to do something about the noise and the havoc these young adults were causing. Eventually after no action from the reception staff we went to speak to a security guard in the early hours, who used a fine/ or calling the police tactic. This did the trick Initially . We asked the receptionist to move rooms out of desperation, but found out it was the same on that floor! We were shattered by now and told him we would speak in the morning. There was no manager on duty and the next day when we went to complain was told as it was Shabbat, there was no manager. Shabbat is not an excuse for shoddy service. The staff might want to remember that guests are also on “holiday” and have paid a substantial amount for the pleasure. We were repeatedly fobbed off by the receptionist Anton. Even on checking out we had still had no word from the manager or anyone in authority with an apology and Anton didn’t do much as raise a thank you and goodbye. Very poor show. On the plus side and I’m digging deep, Stav arranged late check out and the bed was comfortable.

Front desk manager was extremely mean and rude to us upon check in. I was traveling with my mother and she can't walk up stairs, so she wasn't able to use the rooftop pool. We were very disappointed about that, but actually the pool water was extremely cold anyway. On the up side, beds were comfortable and air conditioning worked great.

Can you believe that you could wait five minutes or more to go up or down in the morning. You would have to get on going either way to eventually get up or down. Poor choice for a hotel in Tel Aviv.

I love this hotel...

I love this hotel, the staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast is plentiful and tasty and the WiFi is free and not horribly slow. The rooftop pool is closed in the winter, which is a shame, and the room are more functional than fancy, but there are plenty of places to charge your devices and decent products.

We had a very unpleasant stay at this hotel .The hotel staff not friendly,rooms carpets are really very very dirty even a 3* would have better maintenance.The. Hairdryer didn’t work had to change the room ,key fobs didn’t work ,security safe didn’t work and staff not helpful.
Only good comment I got is the breakfast was ok.

The hotel is very close to the beach and restaurants. If you are taking the day tour to Masada and Dead Sea which it is the pick up and drop off point which is very convenient.

Great location, but a little shabby.

The rooms were worn and dated, with stains on the carpet.Upon our late-night arrival we immediately changed rooms as I didn't feel like sharing the room with the large resident cockroach. (Not as large as the cockroach I took a shower with in the Western Desert in Egypt a few years ago. :-) ). The new room had a much better view, looking down the beach.The breakfast was fairly good. It was a great location. We really enjoyed renting bicycles from the bike rental place around the corner. We biked down the beach to Jaffa and beyond, as well as up to the port and to a really great park.

Hotel could do with an upgrade a bit tired looking. Breakfast could have been better. Not enough fresh fruit only apples and oranges. Staff were friendly especially the pool life guard on the couple of days we went up to pool and great view. Very disappointed that the hotel bar was not open as it did not specify this on the web site.
