This elegant hotel is situated on the famous Negril Beach – a seeming endless line of pure white sand sprinkled with coconut trees to afford natural shade to the beachgoers.

 All the spacious, yet charming rooms are built around an inner courtyard in a Hacienda style, and open to a round freshwater swimming pool in the centre of the yard. The garden is almost like a lush tropical garden with dozens of trees and plants like hibiscus and night jasmine, where birds live and chirp merrily.

Overall after seeing such great videos and history about this property it did not meet my expectations at all. The front of house manager did acknowledge my concerns during the trip which I am grateful for however even the upgraded room that I was given had a urine soiled bed, broken iron and broken toilet roll holder and in need of a general upgrade revamp. I was not wowed by the menu options and even received a plate of food that had sauce smeared all over the base. I can see why it would be highly rated for some as i did witness staff give good care to some travellers and there were some pleasant staff onsite. I picked this hotel as I wanted an authentic experience of Jamaica, often not given in the resorts but for me it was very regrettable. I could not even get fresh mint or lime for tea in the restaurant when feeling unwell.

Lovely quite basic inn on best beach in Jamaica!!

It's a lovely little gem of a hotel, not really 4*, basic amenities and limited food and beverage options.
Same overpriced 'French??' restaurant menu for 2 weeks was bad, set a la carte at US$50pp every night terrible value.US$6 local Jamaican brand beer/stubby bottle too was crazy! Across the road,in the supermarket only $2!!!
Staff friendly and very helpful, Nadine and Carolyn especially and a great trainee girl who printed off our return boarding passes!!! ✅
Overall nice place to relax, beautiful gardens, little pool and on the best beach in Jamaica for a fraction of the big name hotels,great USP!!!

BAD : NO BLACKOUT CURTAINS!! This is what alarm clocks are made for!!!

The Charela Inn staff and the restaurant staff were incredibly warm and welcoming! We did have an issue with our AC unit going out but were quickly offered a second room and the manager helped us move our things. The property is well cared for and the beach front is ideal! We truly enjoyed our stay!

Decent smaller hotel on 7 mile beach in Negril. The room and grounds were very nice, beautiful beach with lots of palm trees for shade and lots of lounge chairs. We didn’t love the restaurant — had 1 breakfast there and chose to eat elsewhere for the rest of the time but there are lots of good options nearby, especially the jerk chicken place across the street.

Charela Inn is a private owned business, and staying there provides reseources to the people of the country. I loved tue services from the staff, very attentive and professional, yet warm and friendly. The rooms were well serviced daily and the food was on point daily. We stayed in the beginning of October and had a great time. Our family was catered to and we would definitely recommend staying here. Great location along the seven mile beach.

Just stayed a week here and it was amazing. Great property that is extremely well taken care of. Staff is very friendly. The beach area is one of the largest with plenty of shaded seating. Only thing that would have made stay even better is if the rooms had a microwave. So much good food available to be able to eat leftovers later in the room would have been great. The government also needs to fix the roads. The traffic can be bad because everyone has to slow down to avoid all the pot holes. Love the hotel!!

I loved staying at this hotel. My room was right on the water. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There was a problem with the air conditioner but they fixed it right away. It was difficult to do much sight seeing due to the distance from Negril and some of the activities as well as the expensive transportation in the area. I got two massages on the beach and was able to just unwind and relax after my mother passed away. I chose this hotel because it is Jamaican owned. The beach was perfect with enough shade and a peaceful area.

This was our second time in a row staying at Charela. We love the beach it is probably the nicest beach on seven mile. The rooms are clean and well appointed. What we dislike about Charela is the lack of friendliness from the staff, especially the female staff. The cleaning ladies are very friendly as is the doorman. The serving staff however is not. The women do not smile, the front desk ladies aren't overly friendly, restaurant service is poor, with the exception of one older lady, not sure of her name, she was awesome. Restaurant prices are far too high for what you get but there are other options near by. The beach is well kept and the beach security is on point! I would stay again, I'm just more prepared for what to expect from the serving staff.

on the beach. The staff are the best except for a few of the younger restaurant waitresses who spend too much time looking at their phones. Front disk staff great and very helpful. Our room housekeeper was wonderful. If we need to change while she was there never a problem.
The guys at the beach were always helpful and anticipated your needs.
Our room needed a shower update, several times the water flowed over the floor. it was a bad design. We needed more lights in the room there were two bedside and one in hall.
We had a great ten day stay I would strongly recommend it.

Such a cozy accommodation nestled in a safe, very friendly, accessible area. There are many options for dining along the neighboring properties. I received the best massage ever from the therapist on site at Charles’s beach front. I had no worries my entire trip. I have to rave about their immaculate, crispy white towels and sheets and very cleans rooms, an amazing diverse garden, and delicious meals particularly the Jamaican breakfast. Charela puts the LOVE in One Love!

First of all. The location is the best in Negril. Second. The service is five star. Friendly and attentive. The on site restaurant and room service is great. Last but not least. We go spend time here at least once a year & our other family members go 2-3 times a year . Everyone treats us so well , we kinda are like family when we are there . A lot of locals come to stay here as well bc not only is it the best beach spot for relaxing & floating the day away the food is awesome . This is by far the best option for proximity to the beach in Negril without the all inclusive ticket. It's a small Jamaican owned hotel with friendly staff and great food. We stayed in a Junior suite on the lower level that was about 20 steps away from the beach! You can see the famous 7 mile beach right from your bedroom and from the patio right out your room. They have shaded lounging on the beach which makes it convenient to sit out all day if needed. The staff will also serve you food right there if you don't want to leave the beach! There is also a pool if you want to switch it up. 10/10 experience for the traveler who isn't looking for a cookie cutter vacation experience. We didn't opt for the breakfast plan option, we paid each day for the meals. They have a wide range of meals from their a la carte menu and each night they may have a price fixed menu p/person as well. Just go. You will love it.
