The resort was cleam and the staff were great. The problem with Sandy Haven is that the owner is not keeping up with day to day cost that keep a resort running smoothly. This is apparent from not having ice at the bar or even an ice machine (sometimes no red stripe), the front restaurant, Bongos, is closed and hot tub is covered up or out of service. The manager, Mr. Wright, is doing everything he can to make things work however with no funds avaiable to him that becomes impossible. The price should come down significantly. Not worth the money we spent.

Rooms were large with the attached patio, bedroom, separate basin area then the toilet and shower. Ours of course could use some updating but it was everything we needed. It was kept tidy by the staff.

Hotel is situated in the middle of seven mile beach which is nice and easy for walking either direction.

The biggest issue was the lack of food available at the resort. The breakfast was eggs on two days out of seven. Then just bacon and toast. Also they ran out of ice for several days.

Staff was friendly and attentive to our needs with in their hotels very limited services.

this was my second stay at sandy haven and I can't begin to tell you how fabulous it was. I had the best room at the resort \"111\", roll out of bed and the oven is merely steps away.
the staff goes above and beyond to assure you have whatever it is that you need. andre, our bartender makes the best Pina colada ever.
if you are planning a trip to Jamaica don't pass by the sandy haven you won't regret it..

We stayed at the property for a week in June. Let's start with the good. SH staff is exceptional, professional, friendly, and more than the ownership deserves. They did their absolute best under the circumstances. Special shout out to Edward, Ron, Raffie, Chantal, and Keon, but the entire staff was awesome. Ownership needs to step up their game as far as property maintenance. Especially considering the price point. During our previous stays in 2017 and 2018 the property was immaculate and fresh. Today, it is worn down.
Issues with the room(s). We arrived to a room with no AC in the middle of June. One of the double sinks was not operating correctly. Once Edward, the front desk attendant, managed to resolve the issue with the AC, we discovered that while it was functioning it would not adjust. The room quickly became the artic tundra. No hot water as the hotel was waiting on a gas delivery that day. Hot water was either non existent or inconsistent throughout our stay.
Day 2. Ron was kind enough to upgrade us to an ocean front room! He was attentive to our issues and incredibly responsive.
Room upgrade. Wifi on the TV was a constant struggle when it worked. The door did not have a door knob, so opening/closing and locking the door was another struggle. The AC while functioning leaked causing a bubble in the paint that eventually exploded all over my bed. The ocean front view was blocked by unkempt trees (so glad i didn't actually pay for it).

This was my first trip to Jamaica; therefore, I have no comparisons with other hotels. My stay was also during the off-season, so I do not know what would have been different. The staff were friendly and willing to address any concerns. I'm not a pessimistic, nitpicking individual, and I did not go looking for deficiencies or for everything to be as accommodating as in the U.S. I went to Negri and Sandy Haven Resort to enjoy the experience, my friends, and have a relaxing vacation. That is exactly what I did! I hope to return.

I recently completed my third stay at Sandy Haven, and while I’ve had great experiences in the past, this visit was unfortunately disappointing.

Previously, beach security—especially Sinclair—helped ensure a peaceful environment by minimizing harassment from vendors. This time, we were repeatedly approached while relaxing on the beach, and a simple “no thank you” was often not enough. It disrupted what should have been a relaxing experience.

Additionally, the included continental breakfast with mimosas was only fully available on three of my six days. No champagne was available on the other days, and no alternatives were offered.

While most staff were friendly, a few seemed disinterested or unhelpful when responding to basic questions. I understand it’s off-season, but the overall service felt below the usual standard I’ve come to expect.

I appreciate the experiences I’ve had at Sandy Haven and hope this feedback helps improve future guest stays.

But boy did she have a bad attitude. From check in to check out her attitude was terrible. She almost ruined an otherwise perfect stay.

The room is very spacious. From reading previous reviews, the hot tub has been broken for a long time, it was not working during our stay. the pool was dirty. The fridge in the room never was cold, which was another common thing I had read in the reviews that it commonly didn’t work. Breakfast at the sandy haven is mediocre. You are offered a continental breakfast, which is a small plate of fruit and toast. They also offer mimosas, but only had champagne one day of our stay. We didn’t spend much time at this resort. We had friends staying next door at coco la palm, we spent most of our time in their chairs and using their hot tub. The drinks at the bar of shandy haven are expensive. The sandy haven beach isn’t very big. If you just want a room to sleep in and find a different beach this place is perfect for just going to sleep. I suggest finding a friend at cocolapalm and hanging out on their beach.

I liked the quietness of the property. Rooms were large and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and polite. It is close to dining options within walking distance either from the beach or along Norman Manley Blvd. The only issue was the water availability, at times it took a while for the hot water to work especially later in the day and late one night there was no water at all. Otherwise everything else was very good and I would return to visit another time. Overall I recommend this property.

Sandy Haven is a very gracious, appealing boutique hotel smack in the middle of Seven Mile Beach, Jamaica's finest beach. The hotel is small, quiet, clean, gracious, and well managed. It is steps from the beach, with ample public spaces: tables on the terrace overlooking the beach, pleasant waterfront bar, and adequate-sized (and clean) pool. The staff is pleasant and competent (special shoutout to Rowan, reservation manager, who provided expert help with all arrangements, such as taxis and restaurant reservations).
Two suggestions: upgrade the continental breakfast, which is barely adequate; and hire more staff: the present staff is overworked, which inevitably means service delays.

We had a very nice beachfront view. Daily housekeeping and coffee provided every day. Free continental breakfast very basic with juice, coffee, bread and fruit. Only ate lunch there several times. 45-75 minute wait for food, but that’s the standard on the island. Be sure to check your bill every time before signing. They had our room number wrong twice and when checking out we had a $60 charge not belonging to us. Management corrected that. WiFi extremely slow and no cable TV. Overall a nice place, but not 4 stars. More like a 3

We arrived on New Year’s Eve. The resort had nothing going and the bar closed at 9 . No one mentioned that the restaurant on site was closed bongos. We had no TV for 3 days even though we told them on day one we got the run around. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and every morning at 5:30-6 it was loud due to staff. The only thing we did love was the beach . I don’t recommend this resort to anyone.

The staff was great! Our TV didn’t work, we asked about it and never got a response. There is no Wi Fi at this resort. The hot tub doesn’t work and looks like it has been broken for awhile. The pool didn't look like it was working. The restaurant Bongo’s never looked like it was open and the food was poor quality. The owner of this resort needs to fix and update this resort. Also i like to have room service and I didn’t feel like it was available and i wasn't sure what i would be getting. The water in the shower worked most of the time but the hot water didn't always work. This was the first time we booked for 2 weeks and we were very disappointed that these simple amenities weren’t working or available. Will not stay here again!

The hotel did not have wifi but during checkin I was informed they did have WiFi. Waited forever to check in. The breakfast was literally bread and tea with a mimosa and some fruit. Stay at negril tree house it’s much better. The severs at breakfast and all the staff at the beach were wonderful, also the older lady who was the receptionist at night was wonderful as well. However the tall guy Edward lied and said they had WiFi. Having wifi is important as an international traveler. Ownership doesn’t seem to care about this hotel anymore so I would advice against staying here unless nothing else is available!

This was the worst hotel stay of my life! From check in, to nothing working, lack of service and rude staff the overall experience was more stressful and far from a vacation. There was no tv or internet for 6 days of our stay. No one had answers or was willing to help with the situation. As well when we asked for something or for someone to come help with something, the request has to be asked multiple times and still at times no one responded to the specific need. Lastly the hotel took it upon themself to charge my credit card when they wanted and when it was time to leave they held us hostage as they said we owed more money. This was the worst experience to date from all my travel experiences and I would never suggest anyone to stay there as they will only cause stress and trouble throughout the vacation.

We stayed for 1 week- arrived on Saturday. The wifi was out by Tuesday night. The televisions were smart TV’s and no cable so the remainder of the trip no wifi no internet in the rooms. During the day had to sit next to the adjacent hotel to pick up wifi. The management was immediately aware and acted indifferent as if they didn't care, suggested it was out on the entire island due to the service provider (Flow) which we discovered one of the workers suggested they didn't pay their bill. Each time we raised the issued they acted as though management was not aware - really?

A group of us went to Negril to celebrate my birthday. There were 7 who stayed at Sandy Haven. The property is lovely. Most of the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, advising on where to go (and not to go) and going out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. On my birthday, the owner gifted us a bottle of champagne and arranged for birthday balloons and decorations in my room. The hotel is located directly on one of the best beaches on the island, so a short walk from our room and we were right there. Perfect. The hotel provides beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels. There is a bar on the beach where you can order light bites. We really enjoyed our stay and should we find ourselves in Negril again, we will be going back!

It is quiet, safe and nicely situated to the beach. The food and restaurant is subpar. From the time the you place your order for food to the time you receive it, it is about an hour. The flavor and presentation of the food is very subpar. For all things considered, Sandy Haven is a great location, reasonably priced and safe. Rooms are clean, hot water for the showers and free towels for the beach. Staff is also very friendly and accommodating.

The first room they gave me the AC barely worked and when i took a shower it backed up and water started pouring out of the ceiling. The 2nd room they gave me stank of mildew. I had to bleach the entire shower because mold was everywhere. The towels were dingy tan and that was clean. The sheets were thread bare. The furniture in the room was swollen with moisture damage. The television didn't work and any time i opened my room curtain the workers at the bar motioned to each other to look. The worst part was we kept having to go out and move our car because there wasn't adequate parking. The pool was dirty the entire time i was there 7 days August 6-13th. The owner of this place needs to get it together because this could be a very nice hotel if they fix it up. The best part was it's right on the beach.

The two best things about Sandy Haven Resort are its location and the staff (outside of the beach bartenders). Geographically, this hotel is located in a great section of Seven Mile Beach. It's within walking distance to many of the larger and more popular resorts as well as a couple of great food spots. The staff are also very kind and helpful. Everything else about the hotel is pretty solid; clean (albeit slightly outdated) rooms, no pests, and easy beach access. The buffalo wings were not great but the mimosas and rum punches were good.

Overall, I would stay here again but as a heads up to future guests, beware of one of the young bartender's scams. If you do not watch him make the drinks, he'll try to charge you (in cash) for double shots in single drinks that you didn't ask for. Would have reported it to the manager if I had more time but I had to leave for an event. Terrible on that bartender's part but hopefully one bad apple doesn't spoil the bunch here.

The best thing about this property is the staff who work daily to provide excellent service to the guest from front desk staff, house keeper, food service staff, beach security and a special thanks to “Pops” and JD who help keep the guest from receiving excellent service! The room is nicely decorated however some amenities in the hotel such as the pool and hot tub area could use some TLC. TV in the room could also use some upgrade. The beach chairs and umbrellas are excellent and beachfront is amazing. My family will definitely consider going back to this property as we enjoyed our stay on our first visit in Jamaica 🇯🇲.

This was my 2nd stay at Sandy Haven Resort. I was treated like a queen once again. The staff cared for me like family, Breakfast omelets and banana pancakes are outstanding and the lovely waitstaff even more so. As usual, Rohan, Pops, front desk, security, bartender and housekeepers were awesome. Chris is the best chauffer in all of Jamaica. Thank you all for the wonderfully peaceful stay.

Sandy Haven is a nice place to stay on Seven Mile Beach it is conveniently located to many restaurants and other attractions. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms come with a mini fridge which was nice to have. The breakfast which is included is very simple fruit, toast, juice and a muffin. It was very tasty. Nice but Not Nice Enough

The air conditioner wasn’t working properly and the amount of moisture and humidity in the room after leaving out for the day was overwhelming. I made a request for the air conditioner to be looked at and nothing was done. I mentioned it again…nothing done. We eventually realized we needed to sleep with the balcony door open in order to have the room cool enough to sleep.

Additionally, we asked for a taxi to take us to another location for the day with a pick up later. Driver came, was paid for the drop off and pick up. He never returned even after multiple texts and phone calls from us. Two hours after the time he was supposed to come back for us he text informing us he was on his way to pick us up. We had gotten another taxi to take us back to the hotel. So we basically paid out funds twice and were taken advantage of. I did alert the front desk of this situation.
I also made it clear that the air conditioner still wasn’t working and it was day 3 of my 4 day visit. I received an apology for everything and an offer to move to another room. I declined as we were staying another day only. It would have been nice to have been offered some sort of compensation for the taxi situation and lack of air conditioning.

Room was very clean, shower was amazing. The management very nice but other than two wait staff remaining staff were unfriendly. Beach area, lounge chairs were a mess. Bar and staff were not prepared until after noon and were not friendly. We wound up going next door to sun beach and boat bar for drinks and food. I would not stay here again

Beautiful property with pristine beach area. Loved our quiet breakfast outside in the morning with the ocean view. Staff was super friendly. The rooms were clean and spacious, though the mattress was thin and firm. The meals at the beach grill and Bongos were great, the barbecue on the beach was OK.

The staff is great. Many thanks to Andre; Chantal; Pops ; Ms Sinclair. The reception staff were very nice. The manager was always trying hard to make sure you were happy. All the staff were good. Can’t remember all the names. Room for improvements but a great time

We had an ocean view room but there were so many palms in the way that there was no view. Rooms are supposed to have safes but ours had been removed. The front desk was supposed to have a safe for use but they wouldn’t let us use it. Our room was clean and comfortable. Service was great. The beach is beautiful and area felt safe. Walkable to restaurants, bars and grocery.

Hotel has really fallen below standard. Tv did not work and a/c and fan did not work and nobody cared to rectify this for us nor had courtesy to update us on situation. Great shame as used to love staying here but this will be the last time

The hotel is pretty but very very dirty bar. So filthy it smells like feces but it's just that they've never cleaned it. Almost smells like vomit. We mentioned it to them daily and still no one cleaned it. There's also no staff cleaning the beach area so there's trash and towels thrown everywhere that sits there all day, no one clears dishes when you eat. No service on the beach either.

Just ok; probably won’t return or refer…

For all three of our nights we had no TV. On last night the maintenance came and gave us something, but we relayed it’s not that it’s remote batteries. He said he would go get some, but never returned; so all nights no tv. Also, could never get tub properly cleaned, after relaying to front desk man twice, so we couldn’t enjoy that amenity either.

Probably would not return or refer, especially since nothing was done about it when relayed upon checkout.

Very dissapointed! Television didn't work & eventually had to be switched out, mini fridge leaked, bathroom was not properly cleaned. The gazebos are nonfunctional, the beach umbrellas are molded and torn. The pool area needs a complete renovation. The property has potential but needs a lot of updating. The staff was friendly & helpful. A special thank you Sinclaire, Enrique & pops.
