This was a 5 star hotel 25 years ago, now max 3 stars. Overal a bit dirty, old material, just not what we expected. Also i asked a drink at 5h in the morning and this was not possible, so thats not the service you provide as a 5-star in Europe. They need do downgrade this hotel asap.

This is definitely not a 5 star hotel, after all stay of 1 week, a couple + 2 toddlers

The good: food- the chef is working hard to keep the guests pleased, salt water pool, proximity to the beach
The bad: the hotel is outdated. The rooms are very outdated and so is the maintenance- during shower the drain is overflowing and foul smell fills the bathroom(when I told it to the receptionist- the answer I got was that that’s the way the plumbing is and there is nothing to do about it), cleaning level is bad- I especially placed an empty cup under the table on day one and it was still there by the end of our stay, balcony had a wasp nest and nothing was done about it too. Absolutely no entertainment for kids, pictures of the hotel show a playground- IRL I would give them a tetanus shot after playing there- filthy and unmaintained. animation crew was non existent.

Bottom line- Lower your expectations before going there, we definitely won’t be back.

We arrived at the hotel and immediately they upgraded our room to a room with a private pool (very nice, but unfortunately not usable). Everything was perfect and appreciated. The food in the main room is excellent and with a wide selection, the chef is always there with a big smile. On the other hand, in the two restaurants, unfortunately, the food is not made on site, Just heats it up and serves it. It's a shame, because these are good quality products! Anyway, this is not a complaint, just sharing our feelings.
We definitely recommend the place, and of course we will go back there soon!

Hotel was really great but just lacked the extract something that would make it great. The rooms and facilities were reasonable but a little outdated.

Very nice hotel. The property is clean,not brand new, but they take care good.
Food was good to excellent. For what we pay you cannot fight the food. And the cookingchef is a friendly and person with many joke in body :)
Ouer room always clean and we have room with own pool, they take care all day and clean.
The personal is very friendly, most we say thank you to Evi ouer servicelady in food, she so friendly. And big thank you to Julia, she always give us good information, where can drive to nice locations in Kreta.
But all was very friendly in hotel.
Only the cocktails near olive tree not tasted really good but in main bar he make always very good.
We can say all in all excellent. If somebody want try we say must make

The only good thing about this hotel was the staff very friendly especially Soula in buffet. So the Room (343) yellowing sink and shower screen very noisy fridge. Public areas drab furniture needs updating food in buffet and snack bar barely warm usually cold! Drinks very weak! Spa had to pay extra for jucuzzi and steam room … really this is supposed to be 5 star!!! Entertainment involved making paper planes and seeing who’s flew further ! Karaoke! The one night there was a decent singer she finished at 10pm!!! I would struggle to rate this hotel 3 star.. in fact that’s being very generous

Plus points: Well laid-out hotel. Good spa service, including indoor heated spa pool, gym and jacuzzi for free. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food and drink plentiful. Lots of sun loungers. Optional organised sporting activities available like darts, table tennis, beach volleyball. Evening bar entertainment was good.

Negatives: Sink blocked in our room. Showers flooded bathroom floor because of a huge gap between screen and wall. Bath water emptied back up out of drain onto bathroom floor! TV mainly in German with some French and Italian - no English. Food very \"same-y\" despite themed nights, with both hot and cold food not kept at correct temperature in buffet.

We stayed at Bella Beach in October for my partner’s 25th birthday and had a lovely time. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating from beginning to end. They gave us an upgrade on your welcome which made our experience at Bell Beach even more better. Thank you to Katerina (Reservations & Front Office Manager) who communicated back and forth with me before my stay to make sure my requests were met.

There was entertainment during the day and evening but during the day entertainment were repetitive, so I think that could do with some adjustments to make overall experience better.

We would like to especially thank Chef Pedro for making our dining experience much better! There were a few dishes which were mainly pork which my partner does not eat, therefore, Chef Pedro did his best to accommodate to my partners needs and made some dishes for him when required. Many thanks for that, because not many hotels like to cater to your needs.

Overall, our stay was lovely and relaxing. We enjoyed it✨

On arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff, and we were offered an upgrade to a room with private pool. It was very kind and it definitely made our stay much better, but...
- the grass was cut in a way that the cut offs were left there, so every time one got in and out of the pool, grass got everywhere
- there was no mat provided to dry/wipe feet before going inside
- the bathtub and showerhead were incredibly old, dirty and broken. When I asked reception to sort it out I had the sense that I wasn't the first one with the problem, and the maintenance person did not replace the broken showerhead, just set it so that it sprayed water differently
- playground has uneven flooring and no shade at all.
- food was way below 5* standards. The buffet was huge but for children it was always spag bol every day, twice a day. Often there would be a meat with sauce (like a stew or a curry) but without rice. Desserts were never cold, so the filling in an eclair or a cheesecake were always lukewarm. Names of dishes and ingredient signs were patchy.
- all inclusive cocktails: lol. Three tiny ice cubes sloshed into a cup of syrup based 'mojito' and instead of rum, they used a 'spirit mixer' (rum flavoured alcohol)

Having said this, the hotel is on the beach, with free beds and cabanas. In the room the beds are comfortable and for the price I paid I am content with my choice, especially with the complimentary upgrade, and I would probably return (but definitely not on an AI basis).

A really nice hotel, with excellent food, big clean rooms, and friendly staff.
Nice sandy beach, with some rock plates off to the side in the water, comfortable beach beds.
When it’s full, beach beds are very difficult to find, both on the beach and around the pool.
Pool, pool bar and beach bar close at 6PM (18h), with more than two hours of sunshine left to enjoy (in July).
Spa service is excellent! I can strongly recommend massage therapist Nick!
Not a lot to do for kids, and nightly entertainment is low key.

Stayed here end of July 2024, we had a room with a private pool it was lovely, staff friendly and really couldnt do enough, the private beach was lovely and literally right on the door step, food was really good too, we had a night flight the day we left, so i paid for a late checkout, unfortunately we were unable to stay in the same room but they organised another lovely room with a private pool that we could use until late evening, also provided some lovely fruit and wine on the house! Thank you Bella Beach we had a lovely holiday and will definitely return x

The biggest thing that stood out to me was the amazing selection of food! There was so much to choose from at the buffet and it was mostly Greek themed which is what you want when visiting Greece! The food at the restaurants were also delicious. The beach was another highlight- there were plenty of chairs and sand was beautiful. We visited the spa and it was really good, worth the money! The only downside I can think of is that there was a lot of pushing to spend more money. We chose the all inclusive resort because we didn’t want to have to worry about going over budget, but you really get the bare minimum for the base price. There was a small menu of free drinks at the bar, others that you would have to pay for. At the first restaurant we visited we wanted to have the free Cretan red wine with our food but the waiter brought us a white wine that ended up costing 20 euros (it might have been a language barrier issue). And the main bar said it was open until 1am, but when we went after 11pm they said it “costs extra”. It wasn’t a big deal, just something I noticed. The staff though were very friendly and seemed to enjoy themselves which makes it more fun for everyone!

This is not a 5-star resort! It is a 2–3-star resort. The rooms were not clean. The grass was not cut around the property. I have the room with private pool, which could not be used due to bugs and grass in the pool. The private pool is surrounded by grass and dirt and not tiles, just gross.

We had a wonderful holiday at Bella Beach. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and the vibe was friendly and relaxed. It benefits from being a smaller hotel, when compared with some of the adjacent properties.

We stayed in late October, so the hotel was naturally quieter, but there was still plenty on offer for guests, and particularly for families. A couple of the noted facilities (mini golf etc.) are no longer available on site, but that didn't detract from our stay.

The location is also good; 20mins drive from Heraklion airport and within 60-90mins of many of the popular attractions.

Our only observation is that some guests may feel that the five-star rating is misleading, but I think that's possibly a subjective point. This is a quality hotel, but it isn't the high-end luxury that some might expect of five stars. However, it is still excellent and, frankly, suited us better as a family just the way it was.

Decadent 3 stars hotel with awful food. Nice pool, but hidden from the beach. Nice beach, but not enought chairs. the room was good size and good bathroom, but sea view was limited. Don't pay extra. Several installations were broken and dirty. The kids club was a wood cabin with paper for kids to draw. Quite a lie. Swimming pool bathrooms were disgusting. There was 1 cm of dirty on the gym ventilator, that looked like was never cleaned.

Good hotel with unlimited food and drinks! Outside of the two hours in the main restaurant there are snacks on the beach bar and the pool bar.
We got upgraded to a room with a private pool. It was very convenient with small children. Room is cleaned and bed sheets were changed every day. There was entertainment every night. The hotel could have better services like the near by resorts. Kids club is poor. There was supposed to be a program but in the end there was only mini disco at night.

The Bella Beach Hotel in Crete is a charming all-inclusive resort. Our family enjoyed the stay, making use of the main pool and beautiful beach with convenient facilities. The room's private pool was a nice touch, and the staff, especially at the reception, were kind and helpful. However, the hotel feels somewhat dated and needs interior updates. Our room felt small and wasn't cleaned daily as expected. While clean, it could use a refresh, and the noisy A/C was a downside. Unfortunately, the quality of food at the main restaurant didn't meet expectations. Despite these issues, it's a good choice for families, though I hesitate to rate it as a 5-star hotel.

My husband, 2.5 year old daughter and I spent 2 weeks at Bella beach. The staff was incredibly nice, the food was super good and the beach were great. It was very clean. The location is great with great kids activity options near by (dinausoria park, cretaquarium, water park, Knossos palace, Heraklion city centre, etc). We did everything with public transportation with the help of the front desk. I think the only negative thing about this resort is kids entertainment. The kids club was closed the entire first week, and open the second. It was not very entertaining for my daughter compared to other resorts we tried before. Mini disco was at 9 pm (way too late for kids). Oh and also, there is no airport transport included, you have to pay to use the room safe, and a few other odd things. But overall, we have a great stay at Bella Beach. I would just not rate it a 5-star hotel.

I really liked the friendliness of the staff. The food was good, plentifull and there was a lot of variety. However it is strange that the hotel could not provide a bottle of water for free each day while you could have as many alocholic drinks as you want for free. For an all inclusive hotel, at least a bottle of water each day should be provided free of charge. Also, there should be no charge for using the safe in the room. I hope the hotel will review its policy regarding supplying free bottles of water and charging for using the safe in the room. Otherwise, a very pleasant and enjoyable stay at the hotel.

Superbe hôtel pour la nourriture et ceux qui ont l’intention de visiter l’île ,sans trop prendre des vacances qu’à l’hôtel,nous avons louer une voiture donc c’était parfait, il a des hôtels à côté de Bella beach beaucoup plus luxueuse donc je ne donnerais pas un 5 étoiles mais un 4 , l’animation n’est pas super comme les autres mais parfait pour une famille qui souhaite sortir souvent de l’hôtel :)

DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE... they first didnt have our room... so they checked us into a temporary room for one night... next day we checked into a second room. Then the third day the AC went out and never came back till we left the day after... the service is ok... the staff is ok.. but the premises need a major revamp and OMG dont even get me started on the food... for 250 dollars a night I wasn't expecting any amazing food... but still it was way below expectation...

We had an amazing holiday. Firstly I want to say big thank you for all the staff, they are just fab, so friendly and helpful, secondly the food - so tasty 😋 and fresh, thirdly the hotel area very clean, room service every single day and the lady which cleaned our room so nice. The only small thing which I would improve - entertainment, but we didn't really need it. If you are looking for a quiet holiday with good service I definitely recommend Bella Beach. Forgot to say about the area we spent most of our time - the beach, it's just fantastic, the sunset 🌇 is amazing.

Wonderful week at Bella Beach!

We were upgraded to a seafront room which had an incredible view of the sea. It was amazing to wake up to the sound of the waves every morning. The staff were very helpful and assisted us with bookings for their restaurants. The food was truly delicious and they even had a fabulous birthday cake for my fiancé. We truly had a wonderful week and look forward to returning next year!

The hotel is quite old but, still in good condition and kept very clean. We liked the fact that everything, rooms, pool, restaurants and beach, were close together. Sunbeds were easy to get despite the hotel being busy.
A special mention should be made to the Guest Relations lady Erazmia who was absolutely fantastic. Any initial niggles we had were dealt with professionally and sorted out immediately. All of the staff were polite and attentive and we had 2 lovely meals in the Greek Restaurant where the staff were great. Our only criticism was that the music around the pool was too loud and also inappropriate for the clientele in the hotel.

Wow, I’ve never stayed somewhere that values customer service over money so much, Amazingly courteous staff, who can’t do to much, remember your names, has tea on the breakfast table for you knowing you’ll want it. Very relaxing hotel on the beach! The food is buffet style in the main restaurant and was very well prepared. The other restaurants were closed due to our stay not being during the high season. The breakfast and dessert options were our least favorite. The main dishes for lunch and dinner were superb. The evening entertainment was good for the most part. Karaoke and the Greek dancers were our least favorite. The DJ and music duet were very good and BINGO and Trivia night were enjoyable. The room was very clean and spacious. We really enjoyed the Spa area. The Jacuzzi and spa cost extra but were well worth the price. We enjoyed both a couples Swedish message, hot stone message, and pedicures. The Spa staff was very friendly and very good at what they do! Overall staff performance was above and beyond. The airline had troubles getting my bags to the island but the hotel staff were well prepared to follow-up on my behalf and the situation was resolved with little to no effort on my part. I would definitely recommend Bella Beach for a relaxing couples holiday!

Nice Hotel near the beach, very good food. We felt welcome and comfortable. Extremely friendly staff. Family room was a bit too small for our family with 3 kids. Modernisation/innovation will be necessary within the next 2 years in order to stay attractive. Thanks for everything!

A Great Place To Get Away

Super friendly place to get away. The staff were great and very helpful. They had many activities, which you could participate in or not. The outdoor pool area was great and not too crowded; the indoor pool was very calming. The spa was top notch. I did have to call down because the bathroom wasn’t 100% cleaned when I arrived, but it was remedied immediately. Overall, and excellent value for money.

The food, pool and staff are great. Good location close to beach and plenty of sun beds etc. Slight criticisms are that bar in hotel main building not open in morning for coffee etc. Also loos in public areas need checking and cleaning more regularly. I don’t think facilities are 5 star, there are a few issues ie rooms slightly Spartan, toilets at pool area dated and not able to shut doors, many of pool umbrellas broken and public areas not ‘luxurious ‘. However it’s a very nice hotel and the friendliness and good attitude of the staff more than make up for these minor issues.

This is a hotel with a private beach.
Food is superb, with lots of varieties for any taste. It is fresh and well presented.
Staff is exceptionally good. It would be unfair to name one as I would classify all of them as the best.
The atmosphere is always friendly, joyful and welcoming.
I would definitely come back.

Lovely resort, friendly staff, very relaxing stay

My partner and I had a great time at this resort where we stayed for a week in August. Besides a spacious and comfortable room, there were lots of lovely little touches - a spa and indoor pool which was divine, the fact they put a topper on our bed so it felt like a double bed not two singles (the bane of my life in hotels normally!), they even had a pillow menu by the bed so I was able to select a special pillow to support my sore neck at no extra charge. The hotel even offered us a complimentary shoulder massage on our departure day. Staff were very friendly and kind. One thing I'd say is there are a lot of kids - I guess that's normal for the area and season. All the entertainment at the hotel was focussed on kids - there was very little on for adults. The area in general is all resorts, there is not really anything to do unless you want to get a cab into town, but it's quite far. The only other cons were that the gym is very well equipped but the air con is way too low and it's BAKING in there! I've never sweated so much for a 5k run. Also the wifi is quite weak in the room and a bit hit and miss if you want to do anything more than light browsing.

Great resort, wonderful beach

This is a truly wonderful hotel/resort. The staff were very friendly, and always available. The food was fantastic, and we were offered alternative vegetarian dishes when the regular menu was a little short on vegetarian options.
The beach was right up close to the hotel and had private beach beds. Cold drinks were on tap.

From the moment we arrived at Bella Beach there was a feel of relaxation and comfort. It is brilliant for a holiday where you want to eat good food and fully immerse yourself in relaxing. The staff at check-in were friendly and helpful. They were very accommodating and left a gift in our room for our anniversary which was very kind. The room was clean and had all that we needed. The staff are very friendly, Maria, Poppy and Lazarus were lovely. All the waiting staff were great.
The beach was the main attraction for us, which really did not disappoint, there is a section of private beach, which is sandy. The coastline has a few rocky parts but these are clearly demarcated so its easy to avoid these bits when swimming. The sea was beautifully calm and clean all long the beach. This beach is great for families as the sea bed is shallow and great for kids with weak currents whilst we were there. Although during the end of our stay the sea became choppy and there were appropriate signs of where is was safe to enter the water and where it was dangerous which we found very good and the lifeguard was very friendly.
We had an all-inclusive package, which did not disappoint us. The food in the three restuarants was great. The selection and choice in the main restaurant on a daily basis was excellent. We went to the seafood restaurant twice whilst during our stay, on our anniversary day they made a special effort with the decoration and gave us a cake for dessert which was very nice.

It was a fantastic holiday. We stayed there for 5 days and everyday was just fantastic. The staff there is super wow starting from reception , bars, restros, beach, pool everywhere. Our 5 year old daughter had thoroughly enjoyed the mini disco & other activities for kids. Lots of entertainment activities every day starting from morning, afternoon and night like - beach volley, pool gymnastic, water polo, karaoke night, live music, dance night etc etc. There was not a dull moment in the hotel. Also the staff makes sure that guests participate in all activities. My daughter was in love with Eva ... they all were super friendly with kids too.
The hotel is just in the beach with lots of sun beds. Food is good and evenings are formals that means all dressed up people around.
We loved the property and would definitely recommend it...

We absolutely loved our stay at Bella Beach - the location is stunning, right on the beach with plenty of sun loungers to use. Also, the food is unbelievably good with lots of variety. We particularly loved the fact that there was a lot of varieties of fish and that the menu changed each day. The room itself was spacious and very clean. And the bed is very comfortable, and different types of pillows to suit your needs.

One thing we want to emphasise is how LOVELY the staff at Bella Beach are. The animation team are always smiling and chatty and they work so hard to make guests happy and entertained - they have activities like volleyball, darts, waterpolo and karaoke. Also, the bar staff are lovely. Shoutout to King George and Popi at the bar for looking after Jay and I - we love you guys! Also, thanks a lot to the reception and office team for being very helpful when we make our booking and checked in. George at reception gave us a warm welcome when we arrived and for that we are very grateful.

In short, this hotel is a lovely place to relax and recharge. Great food, great setting, great staff. Im sure we will be coming back.

Lovely break, great staff, beautiful rooms

A friend and I went for a 3 day break. It was right on the beach, had a lovely pool area, the room was fantastic and the staff were really friendly.
Due to its location, if I was there for longer than a week, I would hire a car as there wasn't much else close by.
The only improvement I think they could make was on the food front for dinner. The starters and puddings were lovely but the main courses were a little bit disjointed and you almost couldn't make up a complete meal. That being said, breakfast was fantastic, and lunch and snacks provided and the booze wasn't watered down like I have found at other all inclusive resorts.
Overall, it was a great holiday and I would return, the negatives were very small.

Bella Beach Delivers

This was my first time staying at an all inclusive resort in Europe. I have stayed at several other all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean . . . Mexico, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic. To be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect from this all inclusive experience in Greece. It was wonderful! From my first contact with the hotel to arrange transportation from the airport to the moment I left the resort, I received five star treatment. Each time that I asked a question or needed something, the response was immediate. I haven't stayed in any hotels rated five star and I doubt that it would be a five star hotel by American standards but the facilities were beautiful, clean, and well managed. I find it hard to believe that I was able to stay at such a beautiful resort that included food, entertainment,and incredible service for the price of a mere room in a chain like Comfort Inn or Hampton Inn in the US. I was especially touched by the thoughtfulness of robes,slippers, and plates of food waiting in my room after a late arrival (nearly 1 am). I would definitely recommend this hotel and Crete!!! Bella Beach truly delivers.

Hot food overcooked at buffet; salads very good and I recommend them as alternative. Mosquitos a problem you will definitely need a good repellant. Incessant loud music very intrusive if your room is anywhere near the pool and you want a siesta after lunch. Staff however are delightful and very .helpful

Really good hotel. The reception staff were amazing and always ready to help out. We received a bottle of wine when we arrived which was really nice. The room was reasonably clean, however there was sand in the bed. Food was amazing and the chef helped out as my wife is a coeliac.

Pleasant, relaxing hotel with friendly staff

Enjoyed a pleasant stay. Friendly, hard working staff, comfortable clean rooms. Dining in the main restaurant never felt crowded unlike some larger resort hotels. Decent enough variety of food with the fish in particular being of a good standard. Nice sandy beach although sea was too rough for 2 of the 4 days for swimming. The in-house local Cretan wine provided as part of the all inclusive package was drinkable unlike other all inclusive places i've stayed at before.
Hotel a good base for exploring central, eastern Crete by car and very convenient to get to and from airport.
