Not a five star resort but the staff is definitely 5 star. Rooms are clean, but old Jamaica vibes. Shout out to the staff, Jennifer, Vanessa, Marie and everyone else in the bar area. Mike does an excellent job keeping the beach cleaned and organized. And thank you to everyone behind the scenes that we don’t interact with daily.

Resort was basic, clean, well-kept. No frills--tissues, hair dryers, bottle openers, but had good safes in room. I was unable to get smaller bills for a $100 bill. Seemed like a loyal following existed. Be sure to ask for ground floor if stairs are a problem, because second floor was brutal for a senior.

DO NOT STAY HERE! The pictures are taken with embellished lighting and angles, in reality the place vaguely resembles what is presented. Upon arrival the \"security guard\" stared at my daughters as he took us to our rooms. The wood door had been kicked in at some point and repaired. The locks were minimal with no deadbolt. Our upgraded beachside rooms were nothing more than ground level looking into the neighboring resorts restrooms. The pool is not much bigger than a large hot tub and the beach and ocean can't be seen from there. The common area space serves as the bar/ restaurant/ gift shop/ and only place to get out of the sun. The bar staff is not friendly and are doing you a favor when you want a drink. Shortly before meal time all of the guests converge on the corner of the main building. Meals are served at exactly the time that is noted by one server. There are a couple of options for the all-inclusive meals. If you aren't in line you will miss out on the better options or miss out all together on the meal. For breakfast, one cook serves the premaid breakfast items and also prepares short order eggs or omellettes. If you don't want the eggs you still have to wait in line for the other breakfast items. The beach is very nice! However, the neighboring restaurant owner will greet you to see if you want to vist his restaurant and will also get you anything you need, smoke, coke, hash, women, anything you want. We stayed 1 night and transferred to a restort.

I’m going to give a real review from a common American traveler. This resort is more like a 1980s hotel on the beach with little to no upgrades.

Pros: locals
Beautiful Beach
Close walk to fun bars and shops

Cons: Locals - they are VERY touchy and if you say “maybe tomorrow” they will be up at the crack of dawn looking for you.
Accommodations: we requested a two bed room when we arrived we were in a 1 king room which we were told was a double upgrade to ocean view. (Subpar to say the least) we did hear later these were triple the cost. They give you no beach towels and a lot of the chairs are ripped or stretched. There are limited beach spots maybe 30 chairs, get there early.
“All inclusive” - there are minimal food options (like a meat, rice, and a fried dumpling and garlic bread) you get only a set menu of drinks which does not include simple things like margaritas, wine, or Bloody Marys. Alcohol is only 10a to 10pm.The pool is small by the ocean but stuck in a hole there is a bigger one but you have to cross a very busy street. Most rooms are across the street as well.

We did witness the police arrest a local who was punched in the face and ribs by the next door security for being too drunk and resisting. The cops stomped on his face and tried were kicking him. Locals name was David and many people staying ran to help him because he was always singing on the beach. The cops were screaming if he didn’t stop they would make sure he didn’t live another day. Sad.

All inclusive did not include water!!! There was a charge per bottle, alcoholic beverage I could understand but basic water was excluded. Food on the first day not that great, I expected much better food over my stay. Hot or miss some meals. The hotel, location and staff was great. Had to go to the front desk for towels.

The employees of Legends Beach Hotel, are amazing! Before, During, and After Hurricane Melissa, our needs were exceeded every time. They even gave us room service for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner in the middle of a Hurricane. The rooms are clean, and spacious, the bar is stocked beware of the Jamaican Rum Punch, it's good but it'll sneak up on you. The food was hands down the best I've had in Jamacia and this is my 3rd time going, the beach is always beautiful, white sand, local vendors, and crystal clear water. For your money you cannot beat the location, lodging, food, drinks, and excellent service. Take the time to talk to the employees to get to know them and the area, they have a lot of good insight about the area, and they know where you should go and where you shouldn't go. Hands sown the best resort, service, and time I ever had, and most of it was during a hurricane, the employees put there guests before there families and ensured our safety and made sure we were fed. I cannot say enough about there integrity and their work ethic. Legends Beach Hotel is my spot from now on, I hope you get to enjoy it as well!

I really enjoyed my stay here- I did have a minor issue that was resolved quickly so no details needed. The front desk staff were awesomely welcoming and friendly. They even brought a snack necessity bag room to room right before we left-right before hurricane Melissa. Marie @the bar was very attentive and provided great customer service. Now, Vanessa-waitress@the restaurant if not a manager- she needs to be promoted. She needs to be a trainer in Customer service for some of the others-she remembered things we liked-she was attentive and was always smiling and welcoming- we appreciated that with good tips. Overall, nice stay- would stay again. We do need to be able to charge food/drinks from the bar/restaurant to the room when not all inclusive. Security was great as well. One complaint which is out of the control of Legends-loud-booming music from another location going on until wee hours of the morning.

Their beach area is small, but as you are free to roam the whole thing to your heart's content, I don't see this as a huge issue. There are not as many fancy amenities here as in a larger pricier hotel, but you get a lot more local culture & authentic experience staying in a place like this, so I think it's well worth it.

This was my 5th time staying at Legends! Lets just say it is right where you want to be in Negril. Everything is within walking distance and besides a little hustle, no problem ever!

All staff were great EXCEPT the girl at the front...my stay with with a friend i booked 2 beds...she didnt give one fffff and i had to show my reservation to prove it...then when we went to shower only gave us towels for one. Piss poor didnt even go out the way to make it up the me. Oh then i was told on the Saturday they would have a room on Tuesday lol we settled in and moved on but it is well worth saying front desk service was just nasty to me because i wanted what i book! Side note i had another room booked for my daughter coming in, i spent money.

With that said i will stay there every time just dont expect 5 star service at the front, but all other staff i have no complaints!

I did not like this property
They charged over 1000 usd for a two week stay and they did not even provide a mini fridge in the room. You have to oay extra which is stupid because every hotel room should come with a mini fridge.
The first night we saw roaches in the room and washroom and the shower was not working properly. The toilet keeps overflowing and there are mosquitoes in the room.

This walls in the rooms were covered with dust, bathroom window had cob webs, refrigerator smells old and musky and on top was dirty. The coffee pot was filthy as if it was never washed. TV has white streaks on the large area. Hair was also found on bathroom floor with spots. Also, the white sheet has a reddish/brownish spot on it. There was no way we could have stayed in that deplorable condition. We took pictures and spoke to the front desk clerk, she then gave us a email address to upload the pictures. We had to leave and book at another hotel as one of the guest has asthma and the dust started triggering a flare up of her asthma.

They don’t keep staff on the company to assist with any issues and I was sleeping with ants all over me and getting into my stuff. Did ask if I can relocate and I don’t why I couldn’t get a simple switch and I had to wait for the next day and after 3pm to even speak to someone about the issues. Paid for protection and still didn’t get accommodation at all. Was force to stay with a friend I met there in that country and had to make it work out. Eventually I got moved then was told that I wasn’t cover for the days that I was there and needed to check out. Then was called back and said that I could stay I explained what happened then they apologized for everything. No accommodation or anything for the inconvenience at all. Now I know next time what to do. Expedia didn’t make it no better forced me to stay and couldn’t help me at all I been dealing with them for a long time now. Never ever got treated like this at all. I was told I would get a credit that couldn’t even help me right then. I am so upset about my stay I couldn’t wait to get back home.

There was no security at the gate for the garden property but a camera was pointing to the room balconies from the property beside them.
Loved the large pool but not the bugs at the bottom.
Didnt like that the rooms had no fridge. You would have to rent one at an additional cost. Of course, if you need an iron, you would need to request it from front desk.
The showers are too slim. If you are large in body you might not feel comfortable. Hot water was there, which I appreciated.
Overall it was okay. Just a place to rest. The quite environment was lovely.
Housekeepers need to learn to knock and state that they are coming in before using their key. They did this twice and the last time I ensured the door was bolted.

Don’t waste your money! Go somewhere else. On arrival to the property the first impression was that it was old and tired. The bedroom and bathroom were poorly lit, and not what I’d describe as clean. The towels were threadbare and desperately need replaced. The pool in the picture is across a main road, both pools are in need of an update. The evening meal was served at 7:30pm, not a buffet with options as you would expect from an all-inclusive hotel. A simple meal of chicken, fish and rice with a slice of sponge cake as dessert. No snacks were offered throughout the day, just a simple lunch. The alcohol was limited and bottom shelf. Breakfast was also very limited. One night of entertainment and the bar closes at 10pm. The only good thing I can say about this hotel is that the beach is beautiful. We only stayed one night at this run down aging hotel. The pictures online are old. We booked this hotel
thinking we were getting a boutique resort experience. Such a disappointment.

Only a few staff were friendly. Vanessa, Karri Anne, Katie, Melissa and Jean were amazing. Tried to book a massage and asked 3 times and just gave up. All other staff basically ignored us. We tipped well, especially considering we were all inclusive so self serve for the food.

This was my 3rd stay and I won’t be back because of the unfriendly staff. We are friendly and respectful, use manners when speaking to people but being ignored by staff is not a welcoming experience.

We booked this property years ago and the vibe is different! The check in with Angela was great. Jennifer was the bartender that was a server at the property years ago. She made a comment that was a turn off about being an All inclusive guest. I would have given a 5 star if not for that comment. I personally would put her working in the kitchen away from the guest. Kerry Ann and Sasha was the best servers and staff between Legends and their sister resort! THE BEST! Charles made the best breakfast and Channel made our check out easy. I want to send a very special shot out to MAMA! My heart was heavy when I learned that she was no longer with us. SHE WAS AND STILL IS \"LEGENDS\"! We love you and you will be missed! For the rest of the world, when you visit Jamaica, bring some $1 dollar bills and TIP these beautiful people! They work hard to provide you TOP SERVICE!

Loved the location and staff was wonderful. Had to wait 4 days for our king bed we reserved and they seemed put out by it. Front desk people were rather curt when asking information but rest of staff great. Beach there is good and umbrellas there IF you get up very early to get one! Hotel food was ok. We did not use the all inclusive as so many other places to go to. The late afternoon music at boat bar and drifters entertainment was wonderful fun music!! A traveler from our hotel was robbed by knifepoint at Bourbon beach. This place was once the best spot but changed and looked shady. All in all I love Negril and will be back soon. The sunshine, the afternoon showers, the people, and the casual lifestyle is great vacation mode!!

This is my second stay at Legends and will certainly not be my last! Please understand you are getting what you pay for and it is worth taking the chance. The property is perfectly situated for everything I need as far as food and sundries. I stay garden side and all the rooms on the property have large covered balconies or porches to hang out on. Neville the groundskeeper keeps everything looking so nice! The rooms are ultra basic, decor is dated, but they are clean and the sheets and towels smell fresh. Access to hot water is consistent, though the shower head this stay was not the greatest for hair washing- I just made use of the outdoor rinse by the pool to get a head start lol. A/C works great and kept me cool. I didn't access the beachfront much as I chose to go down the beach daily…it is smallish and gets packed up quick as the resort was busy, plus others coming from Samsara for the day. There are also tons of spots along 7 mile to hang out if you like more space.
Some have said they can smell the garbage on garden side as it’s near the entrance. I did only one day as I stayed up front, but sure enough the truck came and cleared it that day and it was done.
Rooms are cleaned and swept daily. Big shout out to Ms. Denise…I knew when she was working and when she was off because she kept my room tip top!
Also massive thanks to Cesar for keeping the property safe and helping with road crossing. Such a friendly man! Thank you, can’t wait to come back!

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Front desk staff is friendly, There is no garden view, the room has air condition, blankets are dusty, furniture is out of a horror movie, the closet was old broken dusty and nasty, the bathroom was awful no face towels and the mat in bathroom was old and moldy, the room was damp and moldy, The bar was disgusting, dirty, moldy and ants everywhere, marie at bar has a nasty attitide acting like we were obligated to her she left the bar about 5 times of us being there, we had to keep calling her back there were other customers at the bar that were also frustrated. The beach is nasty the pool stank of chlorine, full of leaves and debri like it hadnt been used or cleaned in weeks. I took some picture to upload on platforms that I can upload photos for others to see this place is very decieving, the all inclusive package I paid for is a SCAM, I had to buy a bottle water for $5, breakfast was the worst I checked out next day. Chill but two properties, one not on the beach

Great location with a relaxed atmosphere. Note the property has two buildings and one is across from a very busy highway. This is not apparent when booking the room and while I thought I would be right on the beach, I was actually roomed in the back property. There is a security person that helps you cross, which is helpful. Food was very good, beds were comfortable.

Liked everything (area, staff, transportation, beach and food service)
Did not especially like having to change our king size bed, room 504 to 2 double beds, room 501, due to several floor tiles popping up. The steps to our room need replaced as they are not even and difficult for older / handicapped adults. We WILL come back but to a garden view lower level...thank you for a great time...

What it shows online was not the same when you get there in person and when I was booking it said the room come with a fridge when we got there we where told there is a $13 daily fee, and the rooms only comes with 2 towel no face towels

My family enjoyed staying at Legends and using the free shuttle to their sister resort Samsara, it only comes at 10 am and returns at 4pm. For a family of 5 it was easy to have the all inclusive meal plan so that we didn’t have to worry about where to eat and how much additional it would cost. The food/buffet was plentiful with cole slaw, bread, soup and 4 other options. Dessert was a basic cake. Meals are at set times, so this may be harder for some. I felt comfortable walking off the resort both on the beach side and the road side. Bring beach towels because you only get 1 towel per person. This is a budget hotel with budget amenities (such as 1 towel per person, older furniture and chipped dinner plates, but the staff were nice, the rooms clean and food decent, drinks plentiful and you can ask to have fresh fruit blended in if you purchase peeled fruit, they will keep it at the bar with your room number. Our family had a relaxing vacation. Remember this is Jamaica and there will be many entrepreneurs selling various items at the beach, just say no thank you and they will move on. The beach was lovely with beautiful sunsets.

Legends is the perfect fit for us as we come to Jamaica to do some mission work and cannot justify a high end AI. It is clean, right on the beach, safe, and the staff are fast friends as they are so sweet. Big up for Caesar the guard, Oneill and omelet lady, Vanessa, Nicholas, and Kerry Ann the best servers!
Great prices especially as a package.

Nice size ro,oms and steps away from the beach. Breakfast was good. Loved the free shuttle to the Cliffs. Spent 2 days over there snorkeling in the caves from 10a-4pm. They dont like to give you face cloths. No Frig, but I think u can pay daily for one. Will have to ask for a iron and hot water maker. No coffee or tea in room. Other than that, it fit my budget as a solo travel for 7 days. I would stay here again.

After my 3rd trip to Legends I will surely return. Mike the security guard is the absolute best. If your looking for a fancy property, this is not for you. If your looking for small and authentic, book it. Great location surrounded by resturants, kikis coffee, small convience stores and a duty free mall, all within a short walk. Beach is crystal clear and beautiful.

My overall stay was very good , one of our rooms #301 toilet needs to be fixed flushing was not right and the one chair on our porch had a few broken pieces that need to be fixed , door drags when shut or opened
