The room was clean, but the sink didn't drain. Bed was not comfortable, you could feel the springs. An hour prior to checkout a staff member opened the door, did not knock, and said hello and the left. I went to look who came by and I could see the lady walking down the hall. I wasn't about to shout down the hall to see what she needed. They also tack on an automatic charge of $16 per day at checkout. I've stayed here before and after the renovations. The cleanliness has not changed, but the character is gone. Honestly, it just felt like a standard chain hotel. I like to stay there because of the security, but after a staff member opened my door without knocking, I'll try a different hotel next time. I did notify them at checkout and about the sink, the response was dismissive.

Our stay overall was great, and Alvin truly turned our experience around.

Prior to check-in, I called the concierge to ask if there was anything I could arrange to make my husband’s birthday a little extra special. I completely understand that enhancements come at a cost, but the tone of the conversation felt unexpectedly uncomfortable. I was repeatedly reminded of charges (such as $60 for prosecco in the room), and the interaction left me feeling as though I was asking for complimentary items rather than inquiring about available options. It simply felt off.

That said, once we arrived, Alvin delivered exactly the kind of hospitality I was hoping for. He was warm, kind, and solution-oriented. He suggested a room upgrade, which I happily paid for, and helped make the celebration feel special. He also provided drink and breakfast vouchers to help us celebrate, which was such a thoughtful touch.

Alvin was 10/10. If it weren’t for him, I’m not sure we would have chosen to return — but because of his service, we absolutely would.

Only reason I'm giving 4 stars is the bed was so hard I just couldn't sleep very well. and that aI asked for a couple of pillows and had to call and remind them to bring them after waiting 1.5 hours to receive them. Otherwise, this is a beautiful hotel and people were wonderfully welcoming.

This was my first stay at the Royal Park Hotel, and they by far exceeded my expectations. I truly felt the royal treatment from start to finish. The room was immaculate, the front desk staff were welcoming and professional, and the valet service was excellent. The overall ambiance of the hotel was exceptional.

All the handicapped parking was blocked off and used by the valet for two groups / parties at the hotel. This is unacceptable. I have a heart condition and made the valet move a car so I could park up front. To add insult to injury I was charged $30 for valet parking overnight. This was not my first stay at the Royal Park. But it may be my last.

Our room was fantastic. The renovation is stunning.
We have stayed at the Royal Park Hotel more times than I can count, in fact our daughter’s wedding and reception were held there! Our only complaint is the ridiculous fees added when you checkout. There is a $20 nightly fee to SELF park and an “amenity fee” of $15.90 which covers virtually nothing other than 2 “free” bottles of water. We always leave feeling buckled and dimed. The hotel is quite expensive, so these added charges feel unnecessary

My wife and I loved this hotel! We stayed in the Park Suite, and the aesthetic—both in the room and throughout the property—was meticulously designed. You can tell every detail was thought through.

Every staff member we interacted with was helpful, professional, and attentive. I couldn’t have asked for better service. Room service was quick, and the hotel amenities were excellent.

We’ll definitely stay here again on our next trip to Michigan.

An unexpected deposit/hold of $1,100 was due at check in without any prior notice to my trip. In my experience with every hotel I’ve used this has been $100-$200. This was not planned for and I had only brought a majority of cash on my trip. This was embarrassing. I had to sit there and make transfers from banks to cover this outrageous deposit in front of my date.

Check in staff, one African American man in particular that checked us in was beyond unprofessional. All he did the entire process was insinuate reasons why we were staying at the hotel. Making remarks that were SO offensive. Me and my husband were so uncomfortable. For a high end hotel, we expected high end service. Sadly we won’t be coming back or recommending and it’s a shame because the room was beautiful and clean.

The hotel is beautiful, in a quiet location with lovely views. Everything was beautifully decorated for the winter holidays. My room was spacious, elegant and very comfortable. The staff was friendly and efficient, and I especially enjoyed the welcome cocktail upon arrival. Parking was a challenge, as there were two large weddings happening in the hotel the evening I checked in. I didn’t expect to need to valet park my car, but nearly all of the available parking spaces were reserved for valet parking, and remained so for the weekend. However, the attendants were quick and efficient. Overall a very nice stay; if ever in the area again I would return!

The staff, the dining, and the accommodations were all first class. My wife and I celebrated a memorable anniversary at the hotel. One of the staff members, Laura, made the stay especially memorable as she had a special surprise waiting for us in our room. I would not hesitate to stay there or dine there again. The hotel overall is spectacular especially with the newly updated rooms. Most staff were good, but one front desk staff was not friendly at all. We also ordered mimosas with our free drink tickets and we’re told they’d be sent to my suite and they never came. Other than that, amazing suite and hotel.

The staff is really terrific. Would like to call out Rebecca at the front desk for being a true professional, very helpful, positive and a good presence to have at the front desk. Struggled finding a hot cup of coffee. The staff was very accommodating to my need but never did feel satisfied with the coffee I received. Nice health club. Very quiet property, which is nice. My lone request would have been to have a feather pillow. In the bedroom. Every thing else was perfect : check-in at 3:00pm, dining room at 5:00 pm. I can’t remember her name but the check-in person was gracious & informative. For dinner the young woman couldn’t have been more helpful, ant at 9:00 am Elle & Jjasimin ( I think) were helpful and efficient. Thank you for a lovely stay🤗
