I was very lucky with the hotel as they gave me a free room upgrade. room was spacious overlooking the river, 15min walk to shatin metro station. staff was friendly and helpful. I also liked that they don't provide plastic water bottles but rather installed water filter so you can have as much water as you want. Bring your toothbrush thou. Thanks for the great stay

My room was much smaller than I imagined. It basically had a bed, shower and toilet. For the price I paid, the rooms are way too small. I loved the location of the hotel and breakfast was great. It was also decorated very nicely for Christmas.

Originally, this is a good hotel but after so many years, they need to upgrade their rooms.
Just take for my example, all the decorations inside the room were getting old or worn out. The toilet bowl were so dirty, a yellow mark can be seen around the top of the toilet bowl. The room was used to greet handicap customers but inside the room, you cannot find a hand rail around the bathroom. NO chair nor working table inside the handicap room.

Very rarely can find room that has 4 single beds in HK nowadays. But overall facility is dated n old. Need renovation n refresh. I can tell it used to be a 5 stars hotel in the past, it has lots of facility, but need to be renovated to give it a fresh look.

Run down hotel not worth the money

This hotel is very old. Some upper floors rooms had been renewed but it’s still worn out and the rooms are very small with strongly smell of cigarette. The older rooms are bigger but very old and worn out, showers they still use old curtains and water will splash everywhere.The bar and restaurant are very expensive in this hotel. There’s only so much the reception staff’s can do..as this hotel is literally worn out. Also it was not cheap, had to pay £92 for a smelly cigarette small room. The MTR is 15 minutes walk away, very inconvenient as you have to catch a bus there or walk 15 mins. I will never stay in this hotel again.

I booked this hotel because it is closest to hospital to visit my relative. I saw the photos and it looked decent. However, when I arrived it was totally different. First thing I spotted the white balloons as decoration on the ceiling in the lobby was so dirty and it appeared to be grey. When I got into the room, the toilet water was black and I already felt the place dirty. The temperature control looked like it was from 1972. There was a sign in the shower saying close the door when shower otherwise would trigger the alarm??? Some part of the carpet was out and some type of wire was totally exposed. I decided I couldn’t stay there and booked the nearby courtyard Marriott even though it was further away from the hospital. When I checked out, the same lady at the concierge knew I had booked 4 nights but didn’t even ask why I wanted to check out the same day. Talked to Expedia and still waiting for possible refund. First time in my life telling others don’t book a hotel, this one is the first.

Water leaking from bathroom and poor maintenance

The bathroom was in bad condition. Water was leaking from there to the door entrance and the bed adjacent to the wall. The carpet was wet and even the bed skirt was wet. There was water wet stains on the wall outside the bathroom. Air conditioning was put on while we entered the room in first time, and apparently the housekeeper department realized the room was not in good condition so it kept the air conditioning on at all times. We noticed the leaking status on the second night and requested to move to another room ( #749 to #758) The agent commented and admitted this is an old hotel so it is not common to have such worse conditions! location wise it is closer to our friends nearby, but to pick this hotel is one of the worst experience in hotel staying of east Asia.

Besides a bed and bathroom, not even a desk nor a bench for suitcases. Doesn’t matter a chair nor a closet can fit in the belongings for one person. My backpack, hand carrying bag and my suitcase are all on the floor. I can only place my laptop on the bed!!

The room is really small but clean . We are both small and short , if you are bigger and taller , it would be difficult to move around . Tha cleaning ladies are nice . The main desk , they are efficient but seem a little abrupt when we ask questions . It is quite convenient .

Facility is a little dated with a minimalist lobby and reception area. But it is very convenient .there is a direct bus to airport A41 if you don't want to use hotel shuttle. two MTR stations are within 15 min walk. There are lots of eateries within the hotel and in the neighborhood. The hotel is next to a river and a bike lane...good and inexpensive place to stay
It is also easy to get to border crossing to mainland. Room size can be average to roomy. It looks busy in the lobby, but it is not noisy once you are at room floors.

The property is very old and lack of maintenance . We found bed big in our room and they switched room for us. The toilet tank has overflown and toilet water flooded the washroom floor.
The walls are dirty and wall papers are ripped.
The water kettle is dirty and we did not want to use it and had to buy bottled water.

The hotel upgrade from a three people room to a four people room for us without we requesting when we checked in. Housekeepers were friendly. The room was very roomy unlike other hotels in Hong Kong. The only thing was the room was kind of old but that didn't affect the overall staying experience.

It is a clean and quiet hotel in a average neighborhood. How ever it is very close to Sha Tin center and most can do a lots like shopping, dinning and be able to connect to Metro transportation system. The front desk and other staff are very friendly. It is not a upscaled or fancy hotel but it is the top at its charged room price.

We try and stay at this property each time we visit HK as it is central to the new territories and family.
We were given an free upgrade which was very much appreciated. The extra space and extra bed was very welcoming. As you know, pounding the city every day takes it toll, so having a comfy sleep is great!
Staff were wonderful and helpful. Check in and check out was very easy. We ate breakfast around the back of the property. Plenty of different cusine to choose from. See you again next year!

Almost all staff didn't speak or understand English. Toilet plumbing wouldn't flush and even overflowed onto the floor. Told front desk and they left it flooded until our checkout. We told them 10 hours before checkout and they said they'll fix after we leave. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!

The room I had in the hotel had a nice river view which was amazing especially for the price, some of the room was a little worn but not an issue especially for the price.
The location isn't bad and is just a bus stop away from Shatin which is a great big shopping centre. There are lots of transportation. I went in Feb 2024 and there were a few days which the weather was cold and the radiator was used.
