Our bathroom had a terrible stench of drainage each time we ran the water in the sink and the room in general had a strong smell of humidity. Bathroom needs upgrading. Other than that the room was clean. Grounds are lovely and very well kept, breakfast was good and staff were very nice.

Although the cameras are somewhat outdated, the hotel is an excellent option. It’s located in a beautiful area, close to Porto Rotondo, Porto Cervo, and Olbia. The gardens are lovely, and the hotel has its own port, making it convenient to rent gommones or other boats.

This hotel is a literal dream! If possible ask for a room with sea view. The grounds are spectacular, the beach and pool are great, amazing service from all the staff and the location is ideal for exploring the nearby town. We stayed in three hotels in Sardinia and this was our favorite!

All about location not the hotel.

Our stay was average hence the average rating. The rooms are dated and the service in the restaurant was average we are sorry to say. For the price our expectations were higher. Few annoying items would be no cold tap in the bathroom and having to pay €20 per day for parking even though you are in the middle of nowhere!
The location is very nice with some amazing views.

Such a beautiful place to stay. The staff were lovely! It was very clean and comfortable.
I would suggest hiring a car as it’s quite remote although there is a beautiful beach in walking distance. Also the meals and drinks there are expensive (but delicious!). We definitely will come back!

Perfect for a short sunny getaway

The hotel is tucked away in a beautiful little Sardinian cove about 25 minutes from Olbia Airport. You'll need a car if you want to do any excursions or day trips but for a short stay it's perfect to unwind by the pool or the sea. The restaurant serves top notch Italian pasta and risotto dishes and the bar very good local beers and wines. Definitely recommended for a 4-5 day stay.

The don't necessarily need a car.

An amazing stay, with very friendly staff who were courteous and efficient with our needs.
Only bad things are - Dinner, you need to be there early or the appetisers will run low but it's a buffet style so there is always something available to eat.
A lot of talk about this hotel secluded. It is BUT don't be fooled. You can simply walk to an amazing beach nearby. The terrain is fun as it's walking on rocks and through shallow water and beware of the wasp nest who have held these grounds for centuries but they nest in the ground so they are avoidable.

We were in a room which had a drain in the courtyard it was dangerous and unsanitary and our bathroom had mould in the shower. Also cover charge is super expensive and food is average at best

Hotel Palambalza and the surrounding area.

Exquisite setting, lovely staff. Very professional, however a bit vague. Probably not their fault , my Italian is not exactly completely up o scratch.However the closest town / harbor is Porto Rotonno (2.5 miles away). This is the North East coast of Sardinia (Costa Smeralda). It's posh but not over the top. Stylish, but not South of France prices. It's still as expensive as central London so be prepared to spend plenty of cash!

Beautiful Sardinian Escape

Lucky last minute find online. Welcoming staff, friendly and accommodating. Just out of the way enough to encourage exploration of the area out and about. Definitely advise a hire car.

Short walk along the coastline - literally on the shoreline - to a wide open beach with good facilities.

Can swim in sea directly from hotel but will need shoes (rocky and sea urchins aplenty).

Great boat hire facilities on site!
Excellent breakfast. Good range of food.
Lunch and evening meals a bit pricey, and much greater variety available in nearby Porto Rotondo, which is only 5-10min drive away.

All in all an excellent stay.

Room with a view

Great location with a view over the bay from sunset till late afternoon, this is obviously more timeshare than hotel, but the breakfasts were great and the breakfast service very good and friendly. Facilities such as pool and private beach help with restaurant and boat trips on tap as required. Secluded private property well looked after meant for a relaxing 3 days before heading on to the last stop before the airport. Only blot on the landscape was the lack of blanket - yes was required at night, no glasses in the room and a fridge that needed a converter to be plugged in. No points to the housekeeping team on that lot. Would go back again, but would inventory the room before closing the door on entry.

Very pretty location & beautiful clear sea. Not exactly a beach (30m at most) no local bars or shops or transport, a car is a MUST to see any of the area & hire is VERY expensive. Pool FREEZING,! No other facilities.

You definitely need a car.

There is no where to walk to so you need a car, no bus nearby and taxis come from Olbia so €50 to get to you then on to wherever. Taxi from airport €50 20 min journey, driver spoke English and have lots of advice. Hotel staff speak little English so this was a bit difficult. We had to eat at hotel as no transport and car hire v expensive so book before you go. Food very often just warm and cold on one occasion so was sent back. Lacked 'soul' a bit lack lustre really. Two nice little beaches but not like the ones you see in brochures but the ones on hotel website were accurate. Situated on a nice bay where numerous sail boats and cruisers would moor up so we would watch this as only thing going on but that was about the total of any excitement! I would only return if there was a car and or a bus service otherwise choose somewhere else.

Very nice hotel with amazing views to the port and the beach and good amenities for families but far from everything and not great access to the beach. Not entertainment at nights for young people and going out will cost you 20€ just on the taxi. The restaurant was very good and the surroundings too. Staff were very friendly and helped with everything we needed

4* hotel in beautiful location though hard to get to and navigate from if you don't drive which I ddon't. airport transfer was 45€ in metered taxi (hotel transfer 50-55€). You can get coach transfers cheaper but need to be prebooked 2 days in advance (Hoppa)

Just managed to get wifi from room 1.204 (it's only in reception area)

Most staff nice, some could be nicer. Small touch ups would have made it 5* rating all round

Quiet hotel, but we went at the end of the season. Grounds were very well maintained with daily attention. Staff on duty at the pool and beach present at all times.

The hotel is in the hills above the town of Porto Retondo and is looked after very well with fabulous greenery. The facilities are basic but fine with a nice pool which is unfortunately salt water but there is also a private little beach which was great.

Plenty of sun beds and even towels for the beach hich was a surprising treat. Good in the hotel was also very nice.

Whilst I would recommend this hotel as a place to relax I mist emphasise that a car is needed as if you don't have one I don't know how gou would get around as I only saw one bus in nearly 10 days there. Whilst the town is only a 10 minute drive the walk would take at least 45 due to the hills.

Lovely getaway

My husband and I stayed at the Domina for our summer vacation. The hotel was lovely and had beautiful views of the sea. Because of its location you really need a car to get around to see other parts of the island and we would recommend hiring one. There are two restaurants but we mostly ate at one as the other was quite expensive. The staff were very helpful and did what they could to make sure we got a good service.

Great hotel quiet and peaceful retreat

This is a great hotel that is well worth the money. But don't be fooled by the Porto Rotondo location because it is ten minutes by car up a sharp hill and will cost you 20 euros each time. That's not a problem because the hotel is in a lovely secluded spot; but if you're expecting to spend the day / evenings in Porto Rotondo, that's more tricky...

Die Ankunft war sehr schlecht - am Empfang kein \"Herzlich willkommen\", Infos zur Anlage und zu den Abläufen, sondern nur gelangweiltes \"Hallo. Ihren Pass bitte. Hier der Schlüssel.\" Wenn der junge Mann keine Lust auf Service und Gäste hat, soll er halt nicht an der Rezeption arbeiten.

Das ursprüngliche Zimmer war leider in einem sehr schlechten Zustand. Dunkel, es hat im Bad geschimmelt, das ganze Zimmer hat gestunken und war ein finsteres Loch. Komplett renovierungsbedürftig. Nachdem wir uns beschwert haben, bekamen wir ein Upgrade auf ein Zimmer mit Meerblick. Das war dann ganz nett, auch wenn es im Bad etwas gerochen hat und das Haus insgesamt sehr hellhörig ist.

Die Anlage an sich ist sehr schön, gepflegt und gut organisiert. Das Personal war größtenteils auch freundlich (außer im Restaurant, wo wir nach Ankunft Abendessen wollten. Der Kellner war so abweisend, dass wir direkt wieder gegangen sind). Insgesamt hatte man teilweise das Gefühl, dass die Leute zum Ende der Saison hin ausgelaugt sind. Nicht alle, aber einige. Ich habe persönlich Verständnis, aber als Gast nervt es trotzdem.

20€ für Parkplatz grenzt an Nötigung, im Fitnessraum gibt es keine Wasserspender. Man soll im Restaurant Wasser kaufen. Hab ich so auch noch nie erlebt. Die Chefin gab mir dann aber doch eine Flasche Wasser. Preislich für Nebensaison insgesamt okay, das doppelte würde ich in der Hauptsaison nicht zahlen.

Fazit: Wir würden zu denselben Konditionen wahrscheinlich aber wieder kommen.

Sehr schöne, ruhige Lage. Sehr hilfsbereites Personal an der Rezeption, viel Platz auf dem weitläufigen Gelände.
Nachteil: aufgrund der abgelegenen Lage ist man ohne Auto sehr immobil (kein öffentlicher Nahverkehr, Taxis müssen bestellt werden und sind sehr teuer).

Das Zimmer war winzig, NR 1216, dunkel und der Zustand war alt und verschlissen, die ganze Anlage total unübersichtlich, keine Wegweiser zu den Zimmern, erklärt wurde nichts, erst auf Nachfrage wurde gezeigt wo das Zimmer ist, es befand sich in einer dunkelen Ecke, kein Fenster, nur die Tür war aus Glas, davor eine dunkle Mauer, in der Anlage sind jede Menge Treppen, auf und ab mit den Koffern, keine Hilfe angeboten, der Preis war exorbitant, über 200€ für eine Nacht, eine Person, Abends im Restaurant, gab es 3 Vorspeisen, Hauptgerichte und Dessert's, für jeden Gang waren zwischen 25 und 30 Euro fällig, ohne Getränke, dass Essen war ein Witz, eine Kinderportion. Das Frühstück war ebenfalls sehr schwach, am Buffet war 09:00 so gut wie alles leer, einen Kaffee bekam ich nach einer halben Stunde, nachdem ich 3mal nachgefragt hatte, sehr unfreundliches Personal. Und als Highlight, Abends auf der Terrasse gab es Livemusik, ein Duo versuchte die Menschen zu unterhalten, leider hatten beide keine Ahnung von Gesang, es klang fürchterlich, kein Mensch applaudierte, es war alles in allem ein nicht zu empfehlendes Hotel, nie wieder!!!!

Hotel stupendo, una delle più belle location mai viste nella mia vita nonostante sia stato in tanti posti e per 15 anni a porto rotondo in un altro residence.
Discretamente pulito, spiaggia e lettini compresi..
Se vogliamo trovare il pelo nell'uovo : asciugamani vecchi e rotti, luce dell'esterno non funzionate e tv rotta e non riparata / sostituita dopo la segnalazione ...
altrimenti si sarebbe meritato un 10 secco!

Das aufgerufene Preisniveau steht in keinem Verhältnis zu den tatsächlichen Gegebenheiten. Bereits beim Check-in wurden wir negativ überrascht: Das erste Zimmer war von einem starken Geruch nach Feuchtigkeit und Schimmel geprägt – unzumutbar, besonders mit kleinem Kind. Nach unserer ersten Reklamation wurde uns zwar ein anderes Zimmer zugewiesen, allerdings ohne den ursprünglich gebuchten Meerblick.

Erst nach zwei weiteren Tagen und erneutem Nachdruck erhielten wir ein drittes Zimmer, das zumindest den Meerblick bot – allerdings entdeckten wir auch hier Schimmelspuren auf dem Schlafsofa. Damit war unsere Urlaubsstimmung endgültig dahin.

Besonders enttäuschend: Eine Hotelmitarbeiterin beschwerte sich über unsere Bewertung bei Expedia – ein inakzeptables Verhalten gegenüber zahlenden Gästen. Konstruktive Kritik sollte angenommen und nicht abgewertet werden.

Das gesamte Hotel wirkt stark in die Jahre gekommen. Ein paar neue Farbanstriche können den Zustand nicht kaschieren – überall Farbspritzer, rostige Lampenfüße, abgewohnte Möbel. Die Qualität der drei uns zugewiesenen Zimmer erinnerte eher an eine Bundeswehrkaserne als an ein Urlaubsresort.

Ein absolutes No-Go war das zwischenzeitliche „Downgrade“ auf ein Zimmer ohne Meerblick – ohne jegliche Entschädigung oder Kulanz. Selbst für den Stellplatz wurden 20 € pro Tag ohne Diskussion vollständig berechnet.

Fazit: Für uns definitiv keine Empfehlung – weder in Bezug auf Service, Zustand noch Umgang mit Gästen.

Superior “toilet ophold” med smuk udsigt

Hotelet ligger smukt på bækken med pragtfuld udsigt til bugten og smaragd vand i Marinella bugt. Vi havde superior suite for 2 for 235€ per døgn med terrasse, smuk udsigt men meget generende mugen lugt fra afløb som kunne ikke fjernes i 7 dage og er sansynligvis varig hotellets problem. Afløbet var oven i købet beskidt ved ankomsten i 2 dage.En flaske drikke vand 0,5 l koster 5 €. Postevand er sundhedsfarlig selv ved tandbørstning.Umuligt at være der uden lejet bil.Offentlig transport ikke fungerende midt på dagen. Morgenmad er ok , fin basis. Aftensmad velsmagende og velforberedt men prisen dobbelt i forhold til fex I Olbia. Vi vil gerne komme tilbage til Sardinien men ikke til Hotel Palumbalza.

Estuvimos en comunicación desde medio día antes de llegar, porque íbamos a llegar a la 1-2am. En ningún momento nos dijeron que no funcionaba su aire. Sabían que traía a un niño enfermo del estómago. Al llegar, caminamos más de 40 escalones en camino irregular, niños cansadísimos. Llegamos a una habitación sin aire acondicionado y sin ventanas y super caliente. No prendía el aire. Le pedí al chico que revisara porfavor para que lo encendieran. Esperamos y no pasaba nada. Llamamos al lobby y no contestaba. Tuve que regresar al lobby y el señor sentado sin hacer nada, me dice: \"ah! Es que está roto!, y la persona no viene hasta mañana\". Le dije que no podía quedarme en una habitación así de caliente, sin aire, sin ventanas!!, cuando además fué un punto en particular que busqué al seleccionar el hotel. Me dijo: \"si quieres te saco la cama al jardín\".... no lo podía creeer!!! Y con muchos mosquitos. Busqué hospedaje en el hotel alado, los cuáles estuvieron ayudándome a buscar hotel en otra parte hasta que encontré! (Hotel balocco, manejé 30min para llegar). El hotel q me ayudó Abi d'oru, Excelente hotel por cierto! Pero no tenían habitación). Regresé al lobby esperando que ya hayan cancelado la reserva, y me dijo el señor: \"no te preocupes, que mañana lo cancelamos\". Hasta ahora no han querido cancelarlo porque van a dejar de recibir su fee de expedia... se han portado terrible y sin responsabilidad! Ni el hotel, habitación, servicio o instalaciones son 4 strellas!

It‘s a lovely place, close to the sea.
There‘s not much around so really quite, beside some boats anchoring in the bay (we heared their Music)
Facilities typical for italian Hotels, used, a Bit old fashioned but still charming. Shower head in the bath room should be renewed.
Service Personal was very Kind (but in some cases overwhelmed; we did not receive what we ordered).

Overall - We enjoyed our stay!!

Très bel emplacement pour ce resort, accroché a la coline, vue sur marinella. Etablissement bien entretenu, personnel attentionné. Les chambres ne sont pas très récentes en terme de deco, mais spacieuses. Ménage tous les jours et changement de serviettes etc... sauf demande contraire.
Quelques points a ameliorer : insonorisation des chambres perfectible. Restaurant de l hotel bon, mais le snack est tres cher pour ce que c est.
Ca reste anecdotique comparé à tous les points positif. Je recommanderai cet établissement à mes amis.

Prestations pas à la hauteur du prix.
Les chambres, certes typiques, mais dénuées de tout service (bar inexistant, matériaux sbd en mauvais état, serruerie défectueuse, chasse d'eau défectueuse, salle de sports en mauvais état, service restauration limité).

die Anlage selber ist sehr schön, wir haben aber das falsche Zimmer bekommen und das war nicht ok , wir hat einen Blick auf eine verschmutzte Terrasse. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Gartenblick gebucht, auf der anderen Seite der Anlage wurde nie gereinigt was uns sehr störte, da füllt man sich zweite Klasse. Und von WLAN möchte ich gar nicht reden überhaupt nicht vorhanden bei unserem Zimmer, nur beim Frühstück aber wer braucht ein WLAN beim Essen. Aber grundsätzlich ein schönes Hotel.

Wenn man mit dem Flugzeug anreist braucht man ein Taxi. Wird mit der Zeit sehr teuer, wenn man Ausflüge macht. Flughafen Olbia zur Hotelanlage = 50 Euro.
In der Hotelanlage hat mich gestört, dass man wirklich für alles bezahlen muss..... selbst wenn man Kaffeetassen oder Weingläser auf's Zimmer nehmen will ! Frechheit !

Die Aussicht auf die Bucht von Marinella ist wunderschön. Die Gartenanlage ist super gepflegt.
Einzig die Dusche ist sehr mühsam. An einem Tag hatten wir gar kein Wasser und wenn, dann mit ganz wenig Druck :-(

Pas la chambre réservée... que de l’eau tiède, miroir salle de bain très éloigné, impossible de se raser ou se maquiller! Carrelage douche plein de dépôts jaunes et pièce vraiment trop petite!!
Chambre extra sombre, sans aucune « vraie et bonne » lampe, juste des lampes de chevet et un lampadaire... une mini TV, un frigo pas calé plein de gel. Avons eu froid, dormi habillé avec la veste!!! Petit-déjeuner extra rien à dire... formule repas du soir pas top comme concept mais par contre ce qui était servi était très bon, local et frais. Quand on voit le cadre extérieur et aussi le site de l’hôtel, nous restons étonnés et très très déçus de la chambre attribuée...

Sehr gepflegte Hotelanlage mit eigenem kleinen Strand. Leider ist der Zugang zum Meer sehr steinig. Ohne Mietauto kommt man vom Hotel nur mit sehr teuren Taxifahrten in die nächsten Orte oder zu den schönen Stränden. Wir fanden die Preise an der Hotelbar viel zu hoch. Wir empfehlen das Hotel nur jemandem, der Ruhe viel sucht.

Wir waren als Familie mit drei Kindern im Jugendalter in dem Hotel und haben alle den Aufenthalt dort sehr genossen. Reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet von hoher Qualität. Sehr aufmerksamer Service, der auch gern Sonderwünsche erfüllt. Der Zimmerservice brachte die Zimmer jeden Tag wieder perfekt auf Hochglanz. Die Außenanlage ist perfekt gepflegt. Alles strahlt Gediegenheit aus. Es ist himmlisch ruhig, keinerlei Lärm stört die Erholung. Die Apartments sind von außen individuell gestaltet, so dass die Anlage eher wie ein gewachsenes Dorf aussieht. Die Lage an der Bucht von Marinella ist traumhaft, nach Süden ausgerichtet. Man kann direkt von der Hotelanlage aus schwimmen gehen oder zu Fuß, am Ufer entlang auf Felsen kletternd, in 20 Minuten zum Strand von Marinella kommen.

Très bon hôtel dans l'ensemble. Personnel disponible et attentif. Restauration satisfaisante. Les chambres avec vue sur mer sont très agréables souvent avec une terrasse individuelle.
Cependant les chambres sont mal insonorisées. Nous avons supporté les bruits de voisins mal élevés pendant une bonne partie du séjour. Pas d'internet dans les chambres et connexion wifi insuffisante à la réception. Manque une glace grossissante dans la salle de bain. Pas facile d'accès pour les bagages (nombreux escaliers pour accéder aux chambres).

We was at the hotel under one week in juni -17 for holliday with two other friends.
Our room was 64 steps upp from the reception, no information about it. Bad avaibility for people with problem to walk. The staff at breakfast and the bar was allways in hurry and not so nice. The pool had poor accessibility with only one ladder on the deepest area. Very slow wi-fi and only available around the reception . The hotel was quite unavailable and there were no shops nearby, but you have to take the car and go to the nearest Community to shop.

Buona posizione dell'hotel non lontana da portorotondo e da altre spiagge, ottima pulizia della camera e della struttura in genere, personale gentile e disponibile, si lamenta solo un servizio bar inesistente in spiaggia e con orari troppi ristretti la sera. A mezzanotte già chiuso. Cibo di ottima qualità e vario sia a colazione che a pranzo. Consigliamo di separare la preparazione di spremute d'arancia da quella delle centrifughe. Basterebbe preparare il succo d'arancia e lasciarlo a portata di tutti

Sehr schönes Hotel mit Traumausblick aufs Meer

Wunderschöner Garten und sehr gepflegte Poolanlage.
Tolles Frühstück mit viel frischem Obst. Wechselndes lokales Wurst- und Käseangebot von sehr guter Qualität. Auf Wunsch gab es zum Frühstück ohne Extrakosten einen frisch zubereiteten Cappuccino. :)
Liegt zwar nicht direkt am Sandstrand, aber mit dem Auto sind eine Vielzahl von schönen Stränden in kurzer Zeit erreichbar.

Sehr gepflegte Hotelanlage, tollem Garten

Wir waren 14 Tage dort und fühlten uns sehr wohl. Die Mitarbeiter waren alle sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer wurden sehr gut gereinigt. Wir hatten ein besonders großes Zimmer, wahrscheinlich weil wir 14 Tage geblieben sind. Obwohl wir das billigste Zimmer gebucht hatten. Es gibt auch kleinere Zimmer. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und es war von allem reichlich vorhanden. Kaffee, Cappuccino, ..... Frisches Obst, gepresste Fruchtsäfte, Schinken roh und gekocht, Salami, Käse geschnitten und am Stück. Kuchen, Würstchen, Rührei, Joghurt. Halt gut Italienisch. Die Mitarbeiter beim Frühstücksbuff waren sehr aufmerksam.
Mann sollte unbedingt ein Auto haben, weil sich die Anlage außerhalb des Ortes befand. Das Hotel war auch von der Hauptstraße nicht so leicht zu finden. Das würden wir bemängeln.
Alles in allem würden wir gerne wieder kommen. WLAN befand sich nur an der Rezeption und es ging auch nicht immer. Das war auch keine 5 Sterne wert.

Gutes Preis-/ Leistungsverhältnis.

Service, Zimmer, Frühstück und Umgebung waren wie erwartet. Nichts auszusetzen.
Zwar war kein fussläufiger Strand vorhanden, aber mit einem PKW war alles schnell zu erreichen.
Abendessen hatten wir nicht mitgebucht, wurde aber für einen angemessenen Preis angeboten und wir waren mit Qualität und Umfang sehr zufrieden. Auch die Preise der Hotelbar fanden wir eher niedrig.

nous avons séjourné 4 jours en Mai 2017 dans ce très bel hotel avec vue sur la baie de Marinella (n'hésitez pas à prendre une chambre avec vue sur mer, vous ne serez pas déçu !). c'est un petit hotel, donc rien à voir avec les gros complexe de 500 chambres; tout ici respire le calme et la tranquilité; le personnel est très aimable. notre chambre était spacieuse (environ 45m2) avec un grand lit de 180*200 + salle de bain + salon + balcon; très propre et nettoyer tous les jours; il y a aussi plein de rangement pour y mettre ses habits. l'hotel est à peine 35 minutes de l'aéroport d'Olbia. Je vous conseille de louer une voiture pour découvrir tous les charmes de l'île (mais évitez l'agence \"Goldstar\", car les frais d'assurance sont très important).
bref, nous avons découvert la Sardaigne pour la première fois, et nous retournerons à l'hotel Palumbalza avec plaisir.

Nous venons de passer 5 nuits dans cet hotel. Le personnel est très accueillant, les chambres sont spacieuses et propres. L'hôtel dispose d'une petite plage privée. Notre chambre avait une vue magnifique sur la mer.
