Terrible Customer Service – Will Not Return
I accidentally left my USB charger in the room and called to check if housekeeping had recovered it. The representative, Mike, was incredibly nonchalant and dismissive. Rather than checking on my missing item, he bizarrely started questioning me about an ice bucket. The lack of professionalism and care was shocking. After a 10-hour drive, all I wanted was to check in and get some rest. Unfortunately, upon arrival the lobby was locked with a sign instructing guests to call a number. I called and was told someone would arrive in ten minutes — it ended up being about twenty-five. The front desk representative was very kind and apologetic, which I appreciated.

However, the room itself was disappointing. The comforter and sheets were visibly stained, there were only two poor-quality pillows on a king bed, and the air conditioner had to be manually reset to start. I also noticed burn marks around a light fixture, hair in the shower, and clothing tags stuck to the wall.

As someone that works in hospitality management, I understand that operations can be challenging, but cleanliness, maintenance, and consistent service should always meet brand standards. Unfortunately, this property did not.

We were utterly shocked when we arrived at the motel for our overnight stay. The room wasn’t disgusting but it was far from clean. The room was marketed as (renovated) but there was tape over the cracks on the floor. The bed spread looked dirty and the towel was dingy… we asked for more and the guy said “in the morning” and also wouldn’t give us a clean bed cover so all we had was a sheet and a throw blanket that I had packed. Toilet paper was out so the spare was just on the back of the toilet which tells me that it was cleaned. Just not a good experience and we normally have good things to say about Red Roof Inns but not this time. Very disappointed. I wish we had taken a photo

Upon arrival, they let me know that there was a $50 deposit that wasn’t brought up until check-in. The Man let me know that if any stains or marks on the wall we’re in the room then it will fall back on me once I got into my room I have photographs of dirty towels hanging up in the bathroom that were there before I even Thought about using the bathroom towels were stained. There were red and brown marks on the sheets and trash on side, the bed. The room had dead bugs in the corner underneath the sink room service did not come clean the room. And there were no staff in the office.

This hotel is super no nonsense, but it's super chill, which is nice. Years ago, it used to be super trapped out, but with the new management, it is SUPER QUIET now. Mike, the guy that works the front desk is super nice and very accommodating. He's the best. The area around the motel isn't the BEST part of town, however there are no real hoods in Lafayette.... I still walk alone here at 2, 3, 4 AM on the regular and have NO PROBLEMS.

When I arrived to check in, the desk person gave me a receipt for the room that did not have the amount charged to my card on it. Could not give me a receipt because I had 'booked on line' Given rm 110, staff followed me to room to show me how to work door, light turned red not green as other places because of 'low battery'. Room only had 2 pillows on king, bed, no refigerator, microwave, coffee, bare bones. When I said this was not what iI am used to, accusing tone, 'why did you book this room. ' Shown another room, with 4 pillows, refiterator, microwave, coffee, computer desk, more in line with what I have been getting/ Said I could have this room for $15/night, again no receipt. Room was nice except for glaring unpleasant overhead lights at head of bed & over desk, rather than lanps as I am used to.

Originally booked for the low price but averagely alright reviews as well as the “free crib” amenities. When we arrived, I asked if they had baby cribs but they did not which defeated the purpose of booking them. The front desk was very nice despite this fact.

The bed sheets and towels looked clean, but my fiancé did report that he saw roaches. Also, whatever renovations had been done left spackles of caulk, grout, and whatever everywhere as well as paint, so it does look cheap. We didn’t use the TV since most nights we turned in early for my baby’s bedtime.

The sheets were VERY thin, so if you like a cold room but cozy bed, bring an extra blanket. There are no side lamps, just two ceiling spotlights.

It is right off of the interstate, plus a less favorable area of Lafayette so of course, there are some sketchy looking people. But if you mind your business, they will mind their’s. The only patrons that did not mind their businesses were the local cat colony. There are some very friendly, sweet cats who will attempt to enter your room while you are unpacking luggage.

Overall, it was what I expected for the price, minus the lack of crib. So, I would say it met my expectations but did not succeed them, which is why I am rating this hotel rather mid or lower than mid (except for the staff, who were nice).

I took photos. It is NOT a safe area. Traveling alone, I stayed 6 hours and then left. Security lock was bent. AC wasn’t running properly. Trash all over the property. DON'T DO IT - worst hotel I've ever stayed in

This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The smell of stale smoke and piss hit me hard as soon as I walked in the (non-smoking) room. I was exhausted so I sucked it up - big mistake. The bathroom was terrifying - hanging electronic fixtures, peeling paint, and a stronger piss smell - and the rest of the room was dingy. I got to sleep and in the middle of the night someone started pounding on my door and window screaming to let them in as well as a litany of violent threats. I ran to the bathroom to hide and called the front desk, and they didn't seem to care. I then called the police, who I asked to wait as I quickly packed and left so I could feel safe leaving my room. At checkout the front desk didn't seem to care at all - even answering a call while I was trying to request a refund - and told me I'd have to come back in the morning if I wanted a refund. Complained and got it from Hotels.com instead.

The room was disgusting, dirty and smelled like pet urine. There were holes in the walls, the bathroom vent had loose wires hanging from it and the water pressure in the shower was ridiculously low. There were always people “hanging around” in the parking lot, all night long. We were even asked if we wanted to buy pot. I don’t think I have ever felt more unsafe at any hotel before. Stay away from this place.

The room (despite the posted CLEANLINESS Guarantee) was not so clean! Although I requested the advertised NO SMOKING room, it smelled like smoke (curtains & beds). Sheets & towels seemed clean, but they were dingy, & I had to spray MY OWN LYSOL(!) on the sink, tub & toilet before I could use them!!! There was a dent in the wall that they tried to hide with a chair! I have stayed at Red Roof Inns from CA to GA, & this is the only one that didn’t have a fridge/microwave/coffeemaker, although there was space. Unless there is a change of management, I probably won’t stay here again!!

There was black mold all over the tops of the wall in the bathroom, as well as in the actual shower itself. There is no way that they actually thought that was okay for human beings to inhabit, even just for a night. The positive. Britney at the front desk was so sweet and accommodating. She truly did her best considering she had been there only 2 days.

Negatives: This place needs to be shut down and condemned. We did not stay here. Ended up down the road at America’s Best Value inn in Beaux Bridges.

Upgraded to a kitchenette and thought wow that’s great! Not so fast. Window for the room broken. Holes on desk where a tv was missing. Mold on walls. Bed looked slept in. Bathroom door veneer had peeled off.

Went back to Britney and told her so we went together to check out another room. Equally as bad but with 2 beds that looked like someone had laid on them. Broken AC/heater.

She immediately said she would refund our room. Then had to call hotels.com and they confirmed how bad the rooms were by calling the hotel and speaking with Britney and then hotels.com gave me a refund and a coupon. Highly recommend Britney finds another place of employment and also recommend hotels.com for all your hotel needs. They truly have excellent customer service.

The sheets were not clean and the floor carpet was super sticky. I was so tired of driving the whole day straight that I didn’t even bother to tell the staff because I felt like they would all be like that and my sister booked it for me. It’s even worse since I had to stop during a pandemic, you would think that they would go the extra mile to clean better.

My family and I like to stop in Lafayette when we travel through LA but I’ll never stay here again. I gave it the benefit of the doubt because I haven’t had bad experiences at Red Roof but this was the worst hotel experience to date.

First off the lady at check-in desk acted like she hated me . I reserved a non-smoking room which smelled terrible like it was a smoking room or worse . Do not stay here!!! It is horrible. The neighborhood is very shady. People fighting outside and cursing at each other. People just coming in and out of rooms like they’re doing illegal things.
The room was the worst I have seen in my life!! Covid is alive and well there! The bed was dirty and looked like someone had been in it. The walls were dirty and had holes that had been patched up. The drapes were filthy and falling off the rods. Dead roaches everywhere. The microwave they had in the room was all busted up. We walked in, looked around, and walked right back out. The front desk girl had no customer service skills and just walked to the back when we complained. It was a really bad place and it probably needs to be demolished. Don’t stay there!!!

Crime Show Episode

It was late & we had been to 3 other hotels with no luck. So I booked this one sight unseen on Hotels.com. Felt like we were in a crime show episode! Very sketchy neighborhood. Several transient people hanging around the parking lot and stairwell. The outside pane of the front double-paned window of our room was broken. As was the metal safety guard latch on the top inside of the door. Room smelled of smoke, bedspread and linens had cigarette burns all over them. The room looked dingy and old. As it was 2am and we didn’t feel like driving any longer, we crashed. But was awaken several times due to sounds and just a general nervous, unsafe feeling. No washcloths and hair in sink & tub. Definitely would never stay here again & do not recommend it to others!

I asked for a refund and the clerk stated that I would have ties it until the morning when her manager was there. We were only on the property 10 minutes!! Needless to say, we left and found other accommodations for the night.

This hotel was nasty, mold in bathroom, room completely dirty, piece of chewed gum on the side table by phone, carpet you couldn’t even take your shoes off.

Much improvement needed

First impression-the lady at the front desk had an attitude when I asked them to bring extra pillows for my daughters swollen ankle. Not very clean and not in a very safe area. Too many people in and out of the same room, looked very suspicious. We woke up to people arguing over the balcony and the police started to circle the area. Great value but the atmosphere could be better.
