What stood out most of all to me was how all the associates were so nice, welcoming and very hospitable. The hotel is very nice, clean and very well located, away from the hustle and bustle of the city center, yet close to any attractive location. I love to walk so I walk to everywhere but if you don’t, one thing that also surprised me is that the city has a program which hotels give a voucher to every visitor which allows you to use the public transportation for free within the city of Geneva during your whole stay. The only negative of the hotel to me was the breakfast. It cost 19.50 Swiss Franc, about $25 which is not bad but there’s not much to offer, the selection of food is very minimal making this price a little bit hefty. I highly recommend this hotel to any kind of traveller: solo, like me, family or group.

Spacious, clean room with large en-suite shower room, although not too keen on the frosted glass wall through to the bedroom! Firm bed and pillows. Staff were friendly and efficient. Good situation for our visit to Plainpalais and the city centre.

One rude staff ruined the whole image of the hotel

One of the staff was rude and very reluctant to show the services, with attitude. She seemed to be racist and she also gossiped to the manager and I witnessed that.
The others were fine, but the particular one ruined the whole stay and I won't come back to this hotel because of that lady. The gym was not in the hotel, but you have to go to another place, no direction, and the photos are deceptive. No mini bar or refrigerator, towels seem worn out, and the breakfast was not good

Stay away from this hotHELL

This is a hotHELL. The worst hotel we’ve stayed in: no AC but a portable supposedly AC that is so NOISY we hardly slept. (Geneva law supposedly bans AC but a big fan would have been better or a modern unit without this huge pipe which pushes hot air out!)
Bathroom door has no locks
No night tables but a small cavity to put your belongings.
The plugs are tricky. The only good thing is the response from the receptionist who tried. AVOID this hotHELL by no means. Oh no parking either..

Solid hotel. The staff was friendly, room was clean, shower was great, balcony was nice. The glass water bottle provided to take fresh tasty drinkable water from the tab was lovely.

The location is a little off the center. And the Expedia VIP service was nearly not existing. It’s more like a good 3-star hotel rather than 4-star.

I liked my stay all in all.

The staff was friendly, efficient and knowledgable. The rooms were small and spare. The location is convenient for city walking and access to local restaurants, but not picturesque. The only down side was the second hand smoke which can in from the neighboring balconys. This made us close our windows when we would have otherwise kept them open.

Staff were excellent and so helpful, room spotless. Was missing a fridge which I felt was needed. There were restaurants etc within walking distance but it’s not the central area, and lots of places were closed for some reason, or not serving food. Free travel card was great, although I walked the 20mins to the lake most days as it was nice weather. Would like a recycling bin in the room for plastic bottles

A decent, very basic hotel (it's very similar to a Premier Inn style of hotel). Good enough value for the price.
You had to get the buses or trams to any of the attractions but there was plenty of public transport nearby the hotel.
I expected better from one of Expedia's VIP hotels, relatively it's probably the worst VIP one I've been to and you didn't get any VIP perks anyway.

Home Swiss has a very contemporary feel and is tucked just next to the center of Geneva’s buzzing art scene and a 10 minute walk from the lake. The neighborhood is more residential in nature this affords the need serenity after a long day of walking the busy street of Geneva. Service wise the hotel staff really went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible that really made our short stay very memorable and pleasant.

Good location convenient for the old town and lake (15/20min walk tops). Close to public transport links and you get a transport card on checking in for the duration of your stay. Lots of nice bars and restaurants/coffee shops about five minutes walk away. Hotel itself clean and comfortable. Modern fittings and good sized rooms. Staff were always very helpful. A great stay

The property was in an ideal location close to the tram system (Palladium & Cirque stops) with shops nearby within walking distance (for food). Seemed to be in quiet neighbourhood as I did not hear too much noise outside. The staff at the Hotel were kind and welcoming. There was regular housekeeping each day. The Tea and Coffee maker was a good touch which was topped up each morning. My room was quiet spacious and up to Modern standards. Although there was no AC (against Swiss LAW) the fans were adequate.

Ok but small room and no aircon

Located within 15-30 minutes walk from most attractions, close proximity to public transportation and several restaurants nearby.
Hotel offers continental breakfast and a complementary gym in the nearby office building (06:30am-10pm).
The room I got (501) was extremely small. Bed width and some wall to wall. No cabinet. Hangers off of the wall is all there is. No iron or board (but can borrow from reception). Private bathroom. Small but ok for a single Busines traveler with a trolley. No room for a suitcase. May be challenging for couples. Looking at the floor plan other rooms may be bigger (wider) and thus may be more suitable for couples with luggage.
Reception is open 6:30am-11pm. Late arrivals have to call a number to receive an access code and pick up their key. Not sure of the process for checkout at odd hours...
This is the second time I'm staying at this hotel for a business trip. No aircon in the hotel. Apparently this is state law... They do offer a noisy portable aircon that was able to keep the room temperature within my comfort zone but the noise may be annoying.
Bed was comfy. Maintenance good. Free WiFi. No parking. They do offer a complementary ticket to Geneva public transportation (busses, trams) for the duration of the stay.

It's a decent hotel. Nothing fancy. Good room but it lacks air-conditioning. They had a super noisy portable device where you had to have the window open in order to get the tube out of the room. Without it the room was super hot. So you either had to withstand the horrible noise or suffer through the insane warm weather.
The bathroom smelled of mold but it was clean overall. The ventilation there is probably not enough.
Breakfast was absolutely bare. For 18 euros per day for the breakfast alone I expected a lot more. I've eaten much nicer breakfasts on fewer stars hotels and it was included with the price.

They do provide you though with a phone which you can take with you around the city. This is very handy since you can use it to make free calls wherever in the world and you can also use it to navigate around the city. It beats paying for super expensive roaming charges.

Wifi was also fast and didn't have to jump through hoops to connect all of my devices.

It's not a bad hotel by any means but for a 4 star hotel I expected a bit more.

Shoe box hotel room

The room was very small and made me feel claustrophobic. The room is about 2 feet wider than the queen size bed. I had about 1 foot on each side to use to get into the bed. Walking sideways to get into bed isn't my idea of comfort. There were no night table of dressers to put my clothing. Instead there was a hutch above the desk with some open cubbies. The service was good, though. The room was clean and there was nothing that was run down.

Great stay in a cool part of town.

A really nice stroll to the lake, some great restaurants nearby and the staff were really lovely. The balcony room was worth the extra investment and it is a huge balcony. Breakfast is reasonably price and delicious. I had a really great stay there and would recommend.

Big room with a large, firm bed. Very modern decor (Scandinavian interior). A/C was provided through a noisey portable unit which couldn't be left on throughout the night but area was quiet enough for windows to be left open. Standard breakfast but at a price! I'd stay again.

Staff were great. Weather was too hot in July, so room was hot as well. NO A/C allowed in Geneva, and even though they facilitated an external one, it was just still very hot. Had trouble sleeping. It's not a cheap hotel, but you still have to pay 20 for Breakfast. That wasn't nice. Other than that, it is a good hotel.

Great Stay in an expensive but very nice City

An excellent hotel only 15 min walk from centre. Lovely rooms. We stayed in room on 7th floor with huge terrace with outdoor furniture and sun shades. Well worth paying extra for. We also had kitchen with hob, fridge & microwave and all kitchen utensils. Great if you want to stay in in the evening and eat outside on the terrace. Hotel is more in a residential area but many restaurants in the area some where you can get a take away and once again enjoy the terrace. You can get breakfast in hotel but not worth it. A Co op supermarket only 5 mins away where you can get everything you need. Staff very friendly. Only slight downside is that Geneva does not allow air conditioning in hotels and it was very warm when we stayed. Hotel does provide a portable unit and fan but unit is noisy and not great for sleeping but hotel are doing their best given the local rules. Another plus is that you get a free public transport pass for the duration of your stay and the public transport system is excellent.

An unusually small room, even in European standards. Free WiFi but speed varies by time of day. No iron and board in room but were delivered on request. No aircon (municipal law) but heater and ventilator available. Gym is completely but not integral to hotel. Served by a nearby office building, so bring your own towel. Shower stall with slow drain. A small pull accumulated...
Continental breakfast (surcharge).
Beware of Geneva hotel prices. On busy weeks prices hike and even the free public transportation voucher offered to all hotel guests can not sweeten this bitter pill.

Modern hotel without the expensive pricetag

The staff as soon as I entered were so welcoming, allowing me to check in over 3 hours early. Room was modern, comfortable and had ample amenities. I had forgotten an adaptor but reception provided me with one which was a great relief. Breakfast was good and reasonably priced, check out was smooth and location of the hotel was ideal, close to the centre but in a quiet residential area.

Home Swiss Hotel was superb. Friendly helpful staff - room was fabulous with added extra of kitchenette with fridge, hot plate, microwave, nepresso coffee maker. Bed was so comfy and with the blackout curtains we missed breakfast every morning! No air con but good fan supplied which was sufficient for our May trip would imagine not so in peak summer though when it’s much hotter. Hotel is stylish, very clean , lovely atmosphere, very convenient to all local restaurants, bars, trams, buses etc. Given a free ticket for all transport during our stay which was amazing. Easy routes - plenty of trains/trams even on Sunday. Love Geneva. Love to return to this hotel.

Nice hotel

Hotel is in a nice location not to far from the city centre. Many trams stop just around the corner and with the free travel card the hotel gives you it is very easy to get around. Kitchenette room has all utensils and helps as Geneva is quite expensive for eating out! Would stay here again if in Geneva.
