Very close to the center of town at a reasonable price. Room was clean and had good provisions. But only one espresso and one cappuccino cup not good if you have 2 people. Cappuccino machine and fridge were great. Maybe a kettle for tea and some more cups and glasses would be good.

The room looks absolutely nothing like the property, the room was hot without AC, dark, old. Impossible to sleep without open windows, and there was train disruption and jackhammers literally all night. We arrrive early, the receptionist through key at us and told us to find the luggage storage.

Unfortunately, I did not have a great stay, though it seemed people in at least one other room did not have my issue. My room had a sulphur like odor that seemed to originate from the bathroom. I opened the windows but that did not solve the issue. I told the front desk of the issue and they came to the room to inspect. Initially, the woman agreed that she smelled something, but then claimed she did not and that I could not change my room because the hotel was fully booked. She offered me perfume for the smell, which I declined. No other measure was ever offered to me to address the issue. I stayed in the room for 3 nights and it smelled the entire time. I was in town for a friend's birthday and was not in the hotel much beyond sleeping, so I did not attempt to engage the hotel staff anymore, as I did not think it would be productive. Upon check out, a different person at the front desk asked if I had enjoyed my stay and I said, no due to the smell. She said they had tried to \"find me\" to offer a room change, but I was never emailed, called, or spoken to by the staff. I told this woman that I had looked at online reviews once I arrived and seen a similar review about a sulphureous smell and she said that had been a different room.

Rooms are tiny and cramped, over stuffed with furniture so it is difficult to navigate the space. You get exactly one towel per person, and one blanket. If you ask for another, you may be questioned as to why you need this blanket or towel. If he deems your request valid (in his opinion) you may get one. This was ok and sort of humorous for one night to sleep but no need to go back.

The location is good. The hotel is close to public transportation and to the lake. But the hotel is small and dark. Room is not comfortable, pillows are lumpy. I stayed for four nights and three out of the four days water was stopped in the middle of the day because there was some kind of maintenance work. On the third day I came back to the hotel in the middle of the day and there was a very loud noise of drilling of some kind until 6 pm.

Best place to stay in central Geneva

We chose this hotel to be near our daughter's flat and are we ever glad we did. I have traveled the world for more than 40 years so it takes a lot to impress me positively or negatively. Hotel Rousseau provided two wonderful 4 night stays in December. The location is stellar, convenient to all that you might want to do including the train station. The rooms are clean and well designed. The staff is very attentive and friendly. Shamsa was at the front most of the time and made sure all was right with our stay in every way. We will be back! Staff were friendly and location is excellent. Manor, a shop one building over is ideal for food and some groceries and the waterfront is 2 min walk away. The train station is 7 min walk away and lots of eateries around.

Hotel is visibly dated, with some internal modernisation in the lobby. Flooring is mismatched and old (ours seemed to have a dent), walls have scuffs. The blackout curtains were too small for the window letting in lots of light during nap time for the toddler. The window/door couldn’t be left open because the bars of the balcony were too wide and hazardous for falls. The towels had holes in them, shower had mould and leaked water, and overall the bathroom was tiny. No outlets near the beds and limited coffee/tea facilities in the room (4 sachets of sugar for 2 adults for 2 nights). Bed was comfortable but pillows were flat and tattered inside. Good lift service, but on our floor it only opened to a floor with one room. Since we were in one of the other four rooms we needed to take a few steps up - with a buggy this wasn’t convenient. Definitely not soundproofed- could hear someone upstairs moving furniture around at 4am - felt sorry for our neighbours who probably heard the toddler crying as they normally do! Breakfast was bare, definitely not worth 17 euros - go to Manor or a cafe and pick up something more substantial!

Could probably find something better in the area for the same price.

Lovely hotel in a superb location. Only reason i didnt give it 5/5 stars is becuase my daughter did not have any bedding or a bed when we arrived in our room. It was rectified when we notified reception. They helped pull out the Sofabed and provided us with the bedding she needed. Rest of the stay was perfect. Thank you x

Nice, Convenient Hotel

When we checked in, the lady decided on her on that we should have a more convenient room than the one assigned to us, so she changed it! You can't beat that!! Everything about the hotel was wonderful. Location was great. The breakfast was super. Our two days in Geneva was memorable and relaxing. I am sure that having the Hotel Rousseau as our home base had a lot to do with that.

Interesting hotel, well situated in Geneva as the train station and old town are a couple of minutes walk. Not much in terms of creature comforts and the make up of your room is very much hit and miss! Its a 3 Star hotel all day long which is a little over priced in my opinion however this is Switzerland!!!!!!

Lovely hotel ideally located for a city break. About 5 minute walk from Cornavin Station (which itself is only 10 minutes from Geneva Airport) and about 5 minutes from Lake Geneva and shopping district (think Louis Vuitton and Dior to name a few!) Big plus is that there was a double bed and a large sofa bed meaning that children don't have to share the bed with their parents or be in a room on their own. Staff were friendly and helpful.
One recommendation is remember to claim the free public transport tickets if offered.

Spacious room, comfortable bed and great staff and good location just 5 minutes walking to the Old Town.
My only negative feedback is about the construction work being undertaken. Unfortunately, I did not see the note about the hotel being under refurbishment in the Hotels.com (There is one, I checked after) and at 9:30am the noise started right beside our room. As it is construction noise, it is quite loud. I understand that the hotel is being refurbished for improvements but perhaps looking into start work after 10am at least.

Don’t stay here, better hotels within 50 metres.

Check in was ok, except the rooms are a lot smaller than the pictures lead you to believe.
When we tried to move the curtain to close it, the entire curtain railing fell down. We asked to be moved to another room.
We were initially told that this was not possible and that it was not a big problem.
After insisting on moving rooms, we found out that the staff entered our hotel room without permission to inspect the curtain, even though they had already sent a staff member with me to inspect it. The uninvited visitor came to the conclusion of ‘human damage’ causing the curtains to fall, even though there was not a single screw attaching it to the runner.
Several arguments with extremely rude staff resulted in them invoicing me 50CHF for the damage.
If the curtains fall down through normal use, there’s something wrong with them.
Staff entering the hotel room without permission is is an unacceptable violation of privacy.
They moved us to another room (granted a bigger one) only after we insisted because they were leaving not only the curtains on the floor (and there was not much floor space to begin with) but also all the cracked laminate from where the curtains fell down.
We felt intimidated and unwelcome walking through the lobby, and although we tried to have reasonable discussions about how we could not have possibly caused the curtains to fall down, they still insisted on charging us.

Great value and location

Great location, easy access and a short walk from the train station. Waterfront is minutes away making a great location for discovering this lovely city. Great transport links and nearby shops and restaurants.
The hotel staff were all friendly and helpful. The twin room we had was clean and plenty space for the two of us. Lots of space for storage. Not situated on a busy main road so pretty quiet at night.
There was ongoing works in the hotel however we were informed of this at check in with much apologies from the staff, and assured works would be only between 8am and 5pm. Can honestly say during our stay we had very minimal disruption from these renovations.

Rooms are OK, big renovation is going on in this hotel, should be mentioned in the ad before booking.

Also should mention that there is no elevator between ground floor and 1st floor, does not exist, carrying 23 kilo bags and taking stairs to 1st floor is quite a task for elderly.

Location is good; however the property doesn’t look as you show in picture; There is construction and renovation going on and access to hotel is very limited; The lift is from mezzanine level and you have to take luggage a flight of stairs; the lift can only take one person and one suitcase, and is old style where if someone leaves the door open then lift is stuck and one has to run down to close door; they say they are doing construction to make new lift ; only two coffee pods given complimentary one flfecaf and one regular, and then you have to buy if you need more; No tolieteries like body lotion, conditioner given, only hand cleaning liquid and one shower and hair was gel; No microwave or washing facilities;Hope after renovation the place will be better;

We enjoyed our stay a lot. The location was convenient not only for the public transportation, but for the lake as well. The fact that we got free travel passes with our stay was absolutely fantastic. Really enhanced our trip as we were able to go on a boat trip and get around using the trams and buses.

When I booked the hotel I didn’t know the front of it was under construction. The hotel never gave me any notice about it. One getting to the hotel it was little hard to find because of the construction. The trucks starting at 6:45 am till late afternoon we’re beyond loud even with your window closed you would be woken up. So I was disappointed they didn’t give a discount or comp me a night because it was was a holiday in Geneva I could sleep in and enjoy.

Great hotel on in the city for business travel. Walk-able to pretty much everything. Minutes from the train station and 10min walk to Old town. Reception staff were wonderful. As with most buildings in Geneva, its older but renovated. For the business traveler who needs a good, clean and comfortable place to stay, this is it. Its not a 5star but it does the job quite right..

The location of this hotel was very good. 30 second walk to lake Geneva. Walk across the bridge and you are literally on the main shopping streets. First street is the for the rich! Fantastic designer shops! Second street up is your main shopping street where you will find a range of shops.
Hotel, is in a great location but is under contruction (October 2018) but not once did it disturb us. Rooms were clean and reasonably modern, but little confusion on Check in. Booked a room for 3 adults (sofa bed) but didn’t expect 3 of us to turn up...?
Sofa bed wasn’t ready and although I had to make the sofa bed up myself, the staff were very helpful in anything I’d asked.
It’s 3 star, and that is what you get.
There are plenty of hotels and maybe I would try a different one next time but this doesn’t mean to say I wouldn’t go back this hotel. I would recommend.

Good but small hotel close to lake Geneva,

Being small has a couple of disadvantages - building was narrow, lift is up a flight of stairs and was very small (or if you were feeling energetic you could choose the stairs)

Room was nicely decorated, well laid out and pretty spacious, my only complaint was the hotel was a bit mean when it came to pods for the coffee machine - wasn't enough for two people at 1.50 CHF for more

Hotel currently has building work going on but this didn't affect us on a weekend stay.

Would probably stay there again but would also look around at other hotels too.

The lobby is non-existent. There is a narrow stairway just to get to the elevator. No issue unless you need an elevator and weren't aware of this fact when booking. There was also construction going on next door at the time we visited that we also weren't aware of. Overall, the location was ok. A walk across the river to main part of Geneva and Old Town. The plus side, the room was a decent size but don't expect any view.

We had a layover in Geneva and chose this hotel because the location is close to the train station as well as the Cathedral. The room (6th floor) was renovated and clean. The bathroom was not fancy and not pristine (mild mildew) but acceptable. The reception staff was very friendly. Those with lot of luggage or mobility issues may have difficulty because the elevator starts from the first floor (not the reception level) so you have to walk up one flight. (I don’t know if they have a porter.). The elevator is small.

Nice staff, small room.

Staffs are very helpful and nice. The room I have only have 2 small windows without air con it’s very hot.

Great location.

Great location for accessing all that Geneva has to offer. Quiet hotel, really comfy room, extremely friendly staff.

Very helful staff. Modern room, small, practical bathroom, and most importantly quiet. Bed and pillows were also very comfortable. Couldn't find any English news channels. Minor draw back was having to carry luggage to elevator on the first floor.
