A very pleasant and comfortable stay!

We had a lovely stay at Five Boutique Hotel. Location is good and we walked to sites like Pantheon and Jardin du Luxembourg. Metro not far off. Bus stops, which we never used, are close buy. Bed, towels, etc were all so clean. The free welcoming coffee/hot chocolate/water machine was an added bonus

The only thing preventing me from reviewing this proper as excellent was the fact that while I was there, the property was doing renovations, I'm assuming in preparation for the Olympics? This resulted in workers hammering, sawing, etc, at 8 am in the morning....as someone who enjoys sleeping in, this was very bothersome. As well, two days they were either painting or varnishing and it STUNK throughout the property. As well, this caused the room to be very dusty and accumulate dust.

However, the employees were lovely, there is a coffee machine on the main floor you can use at any time, it was safe, there was a pub right beside the property which had cheap pints, a bakery around the corner, and super close to all transit options. If I were visiting when there wasn't construction, this would have been the perfect stay.

BLEW MY DAUGHTERS BIRTHDAY TRIP TO PARIS

I was horrified. BED BUGS crawling on me and my daughter. Shower floor was filthy and kept shoes on to take shower. Shower door also broken. My daughters birthday trip to Paris and she was totally disgusted. I complained to front desk and told by Eric the manager \"this never happened before\" and he refused to issue refund or offer anything for this horrible experience!

Really enjoyed staying in this hotel. Our room was beautiful, and the decor had some fun touches that we enjoyed: the 'stars' that you could turn on at night in the bedroom and bathroom, and the tassels surrounding the bed. The Latin Quarter is also a really nice area. Apart from its obvious historic appeal, it's filled with students from the Sorbonne, which makes it both lively and having a lot of nice and affordable dining options. It's a little far from the RER and even further from the Metro, but there are nearby buses that can take you to either.

Great location, comfy bed, a few issues

We enjoyed the neighborhood of this hotel, close to public transport and walkable to attractions, shops, & cafes. Overall the the room was comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful, aside from one front desk woman. The lounge had a fun vibe, and there was a coffee machine accessible round the clock there. However it needed to be refilled with water a couple times. They were helpful to refill the receptacle, aside from one woman who just kept reading her book. When she finally did refill it upon my repeated asking, she did not reset the machine so it was unusable...a bit annoying, but no big deal against the hotel. The bed was great. The air conditioning unit did quit working after our 1st night. We would've been happy to simply keep the window open for air circulation however the window set up prevented that. There is a solid board that slides on a rail that acts as a shade to keep the light out. However the window opens inward so if you open it, the shade has to be slid allowing light in...and all the buildings a view of you! Further, the open window door hovers over half the bed, a bit hazardous for me as I get up to use the restroom during the night. I feared I would bang my head into it. So we were pretty hot and stuffy when we went to sleep. We were told they'd address the a/c issue but never heard follow up. We suspect they turned it off?

The staff were lovely, check in was easy and they all spoke great English. We got to our room and it was really nice but it was smaller than we thought it would’ve been. Another disappointing thing was that the walls were quite thin and we could hear the room above us and the room next to us quite a lot. We heard a little bit too much!! Other than that, the location was excellent and there were restaurants all around so al in all it was a great stay.

We visited Paris during the civil unrest and everything was closed however the staff directed us to a great shopping centre where we were safe and spent a lovely day hopping and people watching in cafes
They also recommended some fabulous restaurants
The hotel was clean the staff were first class and breakfast was great

Small room, but has everything ypu could possibly need.
If you are visiting Paris, you won't be spending much time in the room (unless you go for that specific reason) The staff are really pleasant and knowledgeable (especially Fadi) and the bed was actually quite comfortable.
Perfectly located amongst the tourist locations with some lovely local restaurants, but is far away enough from all the common annoyances of other tourists.
The missus has just reminded me about the little star lights above the headboard and the light up shower head, i thought tacky, but she liked it and thats all that matters. #HappyWifeHappyLife

Lack-lustre hotel in a lack-lustre area

Memo to the hotel owners - lots of red walls, red furniture and mirrored surfaces do not a 'boutique hotel' make: you need to try harder to deserve that description!

My room was small and looked like it hadn't been decorated in a while. The overall style might have been intended to be 'modern and minimalist', but it actually just looked spartan and cheap. There was a cracked mirror on one of the storage cupboards. The TV had no English-language channels at all. And I couldn't even stream movies from my laptop to the TV, because the WiFi was down on the night I arrived (apparently due to recent snowy weather). When I arrived, there were only two small pillows on my bed, and I need more and bigger pillows to be able to sleep comfortably. When I went to reception and asked for more pillows I was told that the chambermaids had left for the day (admittedly, I did arrive after 10pm due to travel disruption) and they didn't have the key to the linen closet so I would have to wait until the next day for my extra pillows. Sure enough, I got an extra pillow the next day, but only one, when I had requested four. The area wasn't very appealing. It is a dreary 15 minute walk from Port Royal station, past an ugly military hospital, and there are not very many bars or restaurants near the hotel compared to other areas of Paris. The area basically feels a bit dead, depressing, and in the middle of nowhere - quite a contrast to a 10 minute walk in the opposite direction from Port-Royal...

Don't Get The Small Room. Just Don't!!

My first room was the single classic. DONT GET IT! It's super small and the design is bad. No closet at all just a cheap coat rack that falls over. The room needs a serious remodel.

I paid to upgrade to one of the bigger rooms and it made all of the difference in the world. Ended up being a very enjoyable stay. Those rooms are better designed and they look so much better. Much bigger with a full bathroom.

I'm used to small rooms in Europe. They just work better when they're efficiently designed.

The staff was beyond nice and helpful. They were always willing to accommodate. If they remodel all of those small rooms it could really be a great little boutique hotel.

Great little Boutique hotel with quirky decor.

We originally booked a basic cocoon room which is ok for one person. Husband and I slept one night in there but did feel, as in the title, cocooned! We asked if there was any possibility of changing rooms the next morning and staff on duty were more than accomodating. Moved us to a 1st floor room with balcony street facing. Perfect. More space and a great view of our favourite late night bar.
Would definitely go back and request similar room or upgrade again. Staff are lovely and very welcoming. We didn't take breakfast there as enjoy finding numourous cafes to eat crepes and the most yummy pastries!
Around a 30 minute walk from Notre Dame so easily accessible to a livelier area if that's what you want.
Had a lovely four day break in Paris and already want more!

The staff were very friendly, especially upon checking in. The room was very small but this wasn't too much of a problem because we never stay in the hotel much anyway. Had to opt for room service because of a dinner reservation mix up; food was OK, nothing special and prices were a bit steep but that seems normal for Paris... Could have done with free in-room coffee but that's only a small matter. Bags were kept stored for us on the day of check out which was good. Overall, very pleasant!

The room was absolutely fabulous - decorated in such a way that it made me smile walking in the first night! The amenities all work fabulously and it is more than clean. I had an awesome window right next to my bed that had a sliding compartment to open at my own discretion for sunlight. It made me feel so comfortable looking out the window in the morning!

Not at all impressed...no convenience, all style!

This is a stylish hotel but user-convenience is not up to the expectations. The rooms don't have individual air-conditioners but are hooked to a centralised heating system. This does not allow to change room temperatures which made the stay a lot more uncomfortable. If the heating is on, then the room warms up and becomes hot after a few hours due to no air-circulation. Keeping the windows open helps for a short time but you can't keep it open for the whole night as it's cold outside. If the heating is off, then again it feels like you are in a closed tin with no air-circulation.

Stylish hotel but no sound insulation; you can hear the conversations from the next room.

Stylish wash basin but not even wide to keep the waters splashing on the floors after a good facewash.

Stylish but sometimes can smell the stinking skewers in your room.

Fantastic price & location - very near Metro & RER trains. Hotel staff was super - spoke English fluently and were very useful for advice about area, travel, things to do. Neighborhood is cute & safe. We ate in lots of the local cafes. Quiet in evenings. Rooms and bathrooms are very small, even by Paris standards, but we were not there to hang out in the room. We would definitely stay again.

Its an \"okay\" hotel. The staff was super friendly.

Room was very small. The pictures shown for thr hotel are misleading. We knew the toom would not be large, however, we were disappointed upon our arrival to see how small the room was. It was difficult to move around in the room. The area the hoyel is located is okay as well. Not the greatest, but not the worst.

I had a two night stay at this hotel. The staff are fantastic, they helped me with directions and gave me maps to all the local tourist attractions. They are very friendly which is a plus. The hotel itself is clean, rooms slightly smaller than usual but it was good for a two night stay and easy access to the subway.

Unique Hotel with friendly, helpful staff

Ok, so husband and I stayed at this hotel in November of 2014. It was freakin' awesome. Literally all I can think to complain about is that the hotel rooms didn't have fridges, and rooms were a bit small, but hey that's not bad at all! All the wonderful things make up for these minor flaws. The room we got was on the 4th story (I think), and it was so colorful. The showers had LIGHTS in them! I loved showering here because of the cool lights! I will admit, the bathroom is small, but we weren't paying for anything luxurious - just a standard room for a few days while in Paris, and Five Hotel gave me a very memorable room to stay in with all the comforts I'd expect from any hotel. We had a TV, a nice comfy bed, closets, a travel sewing kit (which I used on my coat sleeve that ripped, thank you Five Hotel), a functional bathroom with a toilet and standing shower. Honestly I'm happy with what we got. It was a fun room to stay in, and the view was nice. Lots of good restaurants and food shops within walking distance. We had massive fun exploring the area around the hotel (also there's a Starbucks nearby, woo!). One thing I have to really rave about though is the staff. Wow! They were so friendly, so helpful, the best people we met on our trip. Recommended restaurants, called us a cab, gave us directions. The hotel also had a \"tea time\" where they served complimentary tea and snacks in the lobby, we enjoyed it. Laundromat nearby if you need it too! Highly recommend this hotel.

My daughters 16th birthday trip.

This hotel is small but perfectly formed. I was a little hesitant travelling alone with my daughter but the hotel accommodation and staff made me feel safe. The staff were helpful with direction and information, what ever you asked for help with was no problem for them, 24 reception was nice to have. Hotel rooms actually look like they do on the Internet. Breakfast was and enjoyable experience with a variety of choice, although all cold options still very filling to set up nicely for a day of site seeing. The hotel offer a small but informative leaflet to take on your travels with you which is a nice touch and really helpful to refer to. All in all a great trip. Paris2016

Long weekend away

We had a lovely greeting on arrival from the staff who spoke good English and were very accommodating.
Room was small but was clean all be it a little worn. The bed was large but quite firm.
Location was close to cafes and a 10 minute walk to the closest metro station and takes 20 mins from there to get to the centre attractions.

Really cool place!

Staff are super friendly, everyone from front desk to the cleaners and everyone in-between. The rooms are tiny...micro rooms. The price that we paid it would have been nice to have breakfast included, we paid a small fortune for this room, but it was new years eve so I think prices were on average higher.

The decor is awesome and for a tiny place they did an amazing job. Very modern and luxurious. Location is about 30 minute walk to latin Quarter and 10 minute walk to a cool local restaurant/market area.....its also an easy flat 1 hour walk to Eiffel Tower.

Nice hotel

I stayed here for 3 nights and it was a nice hotel.
I paid for a premium however I'm not actually sure it was a premium room as it still felt quite standard.
The hotel is a nice location which feels less tourist like and more everyday Parisian living.

Friendly, bilingual staff.

Very hospitable and accomdating staff. Located within walking distance of 2 highly used metros theoughout our trip. The breakfast was likely better than what you would find at most local restaurants, and you cannot beat the service since it is a buffet. The staff unlike some places in France understand hospitality and made us feel welcome the moment we arrived. The room is ridiculously small and was the only flaw of this hotel. From the \"toilette\" to the shower to the amount of actual space around the bed, compared to american hotels, is all very little.

Fantastic romantic get-away in Paris!

My partner and I were greeted and doted on from the get go... The hotel was clean, comfortable and romantic. We were close to all the Paris sights and the staff gave us great directions on all our journeys to and from. I highly recommend this hotel.

A little gem in a big city.

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with my partner. Hotel is in a student area so plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants with a variety of choice. Hotel is within walking distance to 3 different metro stations which makes it accessible to all the major tourist hot spots. Staff were lovely and very helpful and I would recommend this hotel to anyone experiencing Paris for the first time.
