Three of us stayed in the deluxe room with three beds. The room was very small. Very little room to walk. Elevator could only fit two people and two suitcases. Check in is at 3 we arrived at 2:45 made us wait the 15 minutes. Got charged an additional tax that I had to pay befor check in that was not aware of. Room was clean but had a moldy smell.

The Hotel des Mines is a wonderful place to stay in Paris. The rooms are very comfortable, and the little shower rooms are fine. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. The hotel is also close to the delightful Luxembourg Gardens.
Our only regret is that the hotel doesn't have a kitchen. We enjoyed the breakfasts, but did walk down the boulevard a couple of times to have a hot breakfast. I would happily stay at the Hotel des Mines again!

Very convenient to transportation to all tourist site. Negative was the air-conditioning didn't work. We told the front desk two times without improvement. Upon check out commented again on how hot it was and had to sleep with window open and listen to street noise all night. The clerk said oh we regulate that down here. Sad

Easy access to airport

Staff was very nice. Hotel was in a great location near the RER line to the airport, so it's a pretty convenient place to stay if you have an early morning flight. Room was clean and quiet. I would stay here again.

A very good and reasonably priced boutique hotel in the 5th Arrondisement near Luxembourg Gardens. Continental breakfast is excellent. Our one complaint was that there was almost constant street noise from passing police cars and ambulances on the Blvd Saint Michel, many of them apparently on their way to the nearby Palais de Justice.

This hotel was in the perfect area with kind, helpful staff! We loved the location which was near the Latin Quarter and easy walk to the gorgeous Luxembourg Gardens. Property was great for what we paid. The hotel is smaller/boutique. Not everything is renovated. We ended up with a room for 3 people cause we came too early for check in and came back after 5/6pm. There were some water damage on the wall and dust on the shelves I had to clean myself. Overall it was an okay stay. Some staff were helpful but some came off odd, possibly the language barrier, we don’t speak French. I picked the hotel due to its location, luggage storage as back up and they serve breakfast for a fee as early as 7am.

For starters I booked a triple room “double and twin bed”. We had a double bed and a rollaway bed. I do not find that acceptable when it’s not what I requested. Our rather tall son wasn’t thrilled with it either. He had a proper bed in our London hotel and in Brugge.

A large screw fell out of the door handle to the bathroom just after we went to our room. We handed it over at the front desk expecting it to be fixed. No! We were left with a door handle partially coming off.

The drainage in the bathroom seemed to troublesome. The shower wouldn’t drain and kept flooding. My husband decided to try and fix it himself as he thought it would be pointless telling the front desk. He shoved the hose of the hand held shower down it to clear the blockage and voila - it didn’t flood anymore! No more black gunky bits swirling around our feet.
The sink wouldn’t drain properly either. Took forever.

No replenishment of bottled water in the room either.

I had the most wonderful stay at Hôtel des Mines! The staff was so friendly and helpful throughout the duration of my stay. It’s a beautiful location right by the Luxembourg Gardens. The room was a great size for solo & couple travelers. I stayed alone and never felt unsafe in this area or the city. I look forward to returning soon at Hôtel des Mines!

We stayed at Hotel Des Mines for 3 nights- the location was perfect. Metro station just outside and super close to the Latin Quarter, which has some great places to eat and drink. Very clean hotel- the superior double room was very spacious! Would highly recommend for a short trip to Paris.

The staff is super friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a relatively quiet part of Latin Quarter and close to many amenities and public transportations. There are supermarket, bakery and family fast food nearby. The room is clean and bathroom has been renovated. We were allowed to leave the luggages with the front desk before check in and after check out, which was very helpful. We really enjoyed our 5 night stay. Thank you!

Lovely hotel located in a great area close to Metro RERB. We didn’t try the breakfast prefering to eat out each morning but it looked and smelled good .. perhaps not best value at €13 each though. The staff were very helpful and tolerated our poor french with great humour. Our standard double room was pretty small so we would upgrade next time but would definitely stay again

The new young man in the staff was extremely welcoming and happy to offer any help, which was very appreciated. I was looking for a restaurant in the area and he did some research for me.

A small room but big enough for one (I think it was a double room which would have been a bit tight). On main road but my room was at the back and quiet, nice simple breakfast with view to the street, friendly staff. Ideal for self funded business travellers. A few yards from the station with direct trains to Gard du Nord (Eurostar) and airport. A few minutes walk to Luxemburg Gardens, Pantheon and Notre Dame

This property appears to be under slow renovation. My first room was tiny, had electricity plugs in odd and somewhat difficult places. The facilities were on the old side.
I asked to change rooms when another member of my family arrived because we needed more space. This second room was excellent. Modern and (relatively) spacious bathroom, plugs in the right places, attractive and comfortable.
The staff works hard and is very helpful.

Very small room and bathrooms. Location is good.
Hotel is very old building and elevator is too small.
1st room we got didn't get locked from inside. requested to change the room and without any question they did it. 2nd room was good but bathroom was kind of tight and room was small and lobby was too dark. Requested for a 3rd room and again without any questions asked they did give us another room whose bathroom was good size and was neat and clean.

Hotel was well located next to metro station, large park and many shops; 15 minutes walk to the Seine. Rooms are very small, but typical of Paris. A little pricey for the quality, but again typical. Rooms are clean, service was excellent and overall it was a good stay.

A great hotel for those who want to explore Paris and use the room as a place to sleep/change/shower etc. The hotel is very well located, walking distance to most of the major tourist sights and close to RER B which takes you to Gare Du Nord or CDG. Easy and accessible.

If you want to lounge around all day in a luxurious suite, this is not the hotel for you. The rooms are small but comfortable and clean. The bathrooms were nice and quite spacious. The walls were a little thin.

Staff was pleasant and helpful.

Safe neighbourhood- I was staying there in my own, and often times came back circa 1am and felt perfectly safe.

Simple hotel, clean, warm, safe, a minute or so from Luxembourg RER station, meaning linked directly to CDG airport or Gare du Nord for arrival or departure options. Breakfast is €10 for a hot drink, orange juice, croissant, small pastry, and bread, you also help yourself to yoghurt, fruit, toast, cold meat, cheese, toast and cake. Rooms at the back will be quieter and the main road can get quite noisy

This hotel is older and not very stylish, but offers excellent value and location. If the price is right, it is a good choice. Connection to both airports is also excellent on RER B. I would stay there again on business, but wouldn't use it with my family on a holiday.

2 star hotel.

It was literally a 2 star hotel. So don’t expect much. From check in you can tell that it is really outdated. Everything dusty and old. The elevator was so small that you barely fit in there with your luggage and family. I know Europe is small rooms, etc. but this elevator was smaller than a shower. The room only had one power outlet in the bathroom. Hard to charge our phones. The bathroom toilet was almost right up against the wall. I had to turn sideways so that my knees wouldnt hit the wall while using it. There was a huge weird looking stain on the carpet. It is very convenient if you are coming from the RER B line but I would not stay here again.

Great budget hotel with A/C near Luxembourg Gar.

Excellent budget hotel close to RER B/Metro. Rooms were clean and had air-conditioning. Right across from the Luxembourg gardens. The shower may be a bit small for American tastes, but the room was a decent size for EU, and the price was excellent for September in Paris.

Do not stay at Hotel des Mines

Definitely the worst hotel my wife and I have stayed in. The people at the front desk are rude.
There was absolutely no comfort in the room, Our bed was in bad shape, we could feel the springs of the mattress poking at our bones. The bathroom was so small, one could barely move around. the toilet was unstable, literally shaking off the floor and the wall. The walls are not soundproof; noise and conversation could be heard from adjacent rooms and the hallway. Wi-Fi did not work. We would not recommend this hotel at all.

Let me preface this by saying that we knew this was going to be a very basic hotel with few amenities. We chose it because it was close to the train station and in close proximity to places of interest.

When we arrived we were greeted by the front desk person who quickly checked us in and gave us our key. The elevator was exceptionally small. I would have preferred to take the stairs but couldn’t find them. The room was outdated but seemed clean. We immediately tried to turn on the ac but it wouldn’t work. Unfortunately, it was an unusually hot few days in Paris and we were on the top floor. The room was hot! We brought it to the attention of 2 of the front desk people hoping that someone would come look so it. We were told that they knew it wasn’t working and there was nothing they could do...not even a fan. Needless to say we weren’t very happy but there was nothing to be done. We still enjoyed our time in Paris and will return again...but stay at a different hotel.

My wife and I booked a double room for a quick stay in Paris. The location is great and the staff is friendly. That's it.

We know were settling for a simpler, more dated establishment but our room was nothing like the photos featured online. The room was so small it could barely fit the bed. We literally had to take turn moving around the bed to get to the bathroom. The shower was narrow as a coffin. I had to be careful not to break the showers glass walls with my elbows. The carpet was old and needed to be replaced.

Spend the extra bucks and go somewhere else. Even Jason Bourne had better digs than this.

I found this hotel through random internet searching and am so happy with this find. We were 2 blocks from the RER train from the airport and 5 blocks from a metro stop. The room was mignon and small but had all we needed for a great night's sleep to get ready for the next day of sightseeing. Bathroom was newly remodeled and lovely. We took advantage of the available 10 Euro continental breakfast on the last day and it was a great deal. Not a ritzy location but safe and so convenient to many great sights in the Latin Quarter. Will definitely stay there again.

Our room at Les Mines was worn out and needed renovation. The carpeting needed to be replaced. The shower had mold spots which could have been easily removed with some effort. The linens were clean and the bed was comfortable, but the room was too warm for our comfort. The air conditioning was locked to a pre-set temperature and would not cool down the room. We could hear the underground RER trains rumble past every 10 minutes from the third floor, which was unexpected. The hotel was undergoing renovations, so maybe things will improve in the future.

What a pleasant surprise the Hotel des Mines was! Beginning with the fastest check in we've ever experienced, and on to our top floor room with two big French door/windows opening onto a balcony with lovely rooftop views, to a comfortable bed, plenty of room for our things, excellent wifi, and a superb location with easy access to all we enjoy in the city, and to CDG airport on the nearby RER. We would definitely stay here again as it works so well for us - we frequently pass through the city on our way south and the access to train and airport is easy. This is a two-star that exceeds some three stars we've stayed in!
