We had a nice time at this hotel. The staff was nice, the hotel itself was very beautiful. About a 30 min walk from the Notre Dame, 35 minutes from the Louvre. Convenient bus stops nearby to help get around. We also went to the skyscraper where you can see the Eiffel tower, which was about 10 minutes away.

It was very quiet, which was exactly what we were looking for!

I think the only thing not making it a 5 star review are the shower was a very deep bathtub where you sit and use a handheld shower as opposed to stand and shower. It was also nice to open the windows to ventilate, but when they were closed it was a little warm and they help block out noise.

Very helpful staff. Good cold buffet breakfast with hot scrambled and boiled eggs. Many eateries nearby. Close to Luxembourg Garden. Metro and bus stops within walking distance.

Coincidentally, we stay at the hotel during fashion week in Paris. The rate we paid might be higher than usual. For that reason I don’t feel it was good value for money.

Stylish boutique hotel in a quiet street in Montparnasse neighbourhood. Loved our room and all the bespoke design touches and comforts. Great location for cafes, shops, restaurants and access to sights. A stones throw from the lovely Jardin du Luxembourg. For folks travelling by train - an easy walk to Gare Montparnasse. We look forward to our next visit and exploring more of this great neighbourhood.

Great hotel, room was pretty small and felt crammed. Bathroom products were great, I love Grown Alchemist. Front desk staff was on point, very hospitable, offered great recommendations. There was one lady at breakfast who made the coffee every morning who was quite unpleasant but aside from that, no complaints. I was able to hear everything in the surrounding rooms (next door, upstairs) and outside so if you’re looking for peace and quiet, I would not recommend this hotel. I loved the unique artwork and art station downstairs. Definitely will return!

This Hotel is perfect for a 1st time stay in Paris or a return trip. The property is centrally located in a great neighborhood, close to everything a person would want to see in Paris. We walked to all the sites from the hotel but there is plenty of public transportation to get around. We prefer to walk everywhere to get the vibe of the city. The hotel itself is very cute and art oriented. Definitely a true boutique hotel with handmade art in every room. The breakfast is very nice with a great area to sit and eat. All the staff we dealt with were very nice. IT IS ALWAYS a good idea, at minimum, to figure out how to say hello, do you speak English and thank you in whatever language is native to the city you are visiting. The area around the hotel has plenty of restaurants, bars and nightlife. Noise was not a problem when trying to sleep. We took a taxi to and from the hotel from the major train stations to make it easy on us but you can use public transportation instead. We were travelling around Europe by train so a taxi ride always started our day off better than dragging luggage on public transportation. Be warned every Hotel in every Country we visited charged a \"City Tax\" paid upon check out that Expedia does not cover in your reservation. We travelled mid June 2025. Enjoy!

Superb boutique hotel in just the right location, close to the Gare Montparnasse and the Métro, an historic building filled with art and transformed into a work of art itself; even the room numbers are hand painted in a style reminiscent of Picasso and Cocteau. Everything about the hotel radiates taste, charm, and refinement--that most French of aesthetic values--yet none of it is off-putting or self-conscious. We've never had a better hotel breakfast buffet, and the breakfast room and front lobby were pleasant places to hang out.

The staff were delightful and helpful always, sensitive to our needs and curious about our own discoveries. And there's a lot to discover close by. The hotel is a few minutes' walk from the grand Montparnasse brasseries, and there are stunningly good small restaurants, too, the shops in the lovely Vavin neighborhood, and the Jardin de Luxembourg. There's a lot of Paris in this small area.

Yes, the rooms are small, though they're not out of line for a European hotel, but the bed was wonderfully comfortable, the fixtures new and as attractive as they are efficient, and the heating/cooling system excellent once I figured it out. There is really nothing we would change; we've found our perfect Paris hotel and look forward to coming back here.

I love all of the small art details throughout the hotel - especially in the room. The location is great - two minute walk to a Metro station and just another few minutes to the park.

While the room was on the smaller side, it was smartly designed and had a great view of the neighborhood. I also really appreciated the Grown Alchemist in the restroom.

This hotel has a superb location near the intersection of Blvd, Rapail and Montparnasse. The rooms are small, but quiet, meticulously clean, and well laid out. Front desk staff are helpful and considerate, and are fluent in both French and English (and, I suspect, some other languages). Overall this is a very well managed, pleasant. The rooms are tight but very pleasant, like the property as a whole.

I don't think that I can rate this hotel high enough ... it all starts w/ the people that are there and the folks at the desk were in a word AWESOME. Antonio, Liz and especially Louis were fantastic ... always there to answer your questions and provide their insight and just chat ... an absolute A1 crew.

The location was great, quick access to 3 different metro stops, plenty of restaurants, pastry shops for a quick on the run croissant and juice pickup to start the day or a treat at the end of the day.

The room while small by american standards was just fine ... queen size bed with a clean updated room and bath.

I highly recommend this to anyone who is visiting Paris.

Our stay was overall fantastic! I’d highly recommend this place, certainly based on our room rate which when I saw the published rates at the front desk, was excellent.

The location is awesome, down a nice quiet street, but surrounded by attractions, architecture & great food... many open really late.

The only criticisms I have:
- kind of a pain dealing with not having a way to get in main lobby door aside from waiting on the desk manager to let you in... on particular when you are night owls and you have to wake up a sleeping Manager.

- for all the rooms, they only have 2 champagne/wine ice buckets... kinda strange

- housekeeping is often gone early, so if you want to Sleep late after being up til 6AM, you might not get your room serviced.

Regardless of these minor things, I’d come back here in a minute.

My husband and I had a great stay here over the winter holidays. The staff were really lovely and welcoming, the hotel was extremely clean, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was really nice and updated. We stayed in the smallest room - which is definitely small! I would recommend staying in one of their slightly larger rooms if it is in your budget. The hotel is very well located in the 6th arrondisement, just steps away from the Vavin metro, and Raspeil metro stops, with a couple of other stops being a little further away but accessible. There is a great selection of cafes in the area (go to Cafe Rotunde!), numerous places to buy your pain au chocolat. The staff are more than happy to make any recommendations or assist with any bookings if you need it. We were very happy with our 8 night stay!

Clean hotel with friendly front desk staff. Room was small but I am used to small rooms when traveling around Europe-its what I expect. Only complaint would be the noise from the street at night-could not leave the windows open at night because of extremely loud individuals in the streets. Once the windows were closed, however, the hotel was extremely quiet and coupled with the comfortable beds made for good sleeping. Great neighborhood-close to the metro and many restaurants, cafes for breakfast lunch and dinner. Hotel is updated and cute. Would recommend this hotel and stay here again.

This was our first trip to Paris and we couldn’t have found a better hotel. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, the location a minute’s walk from the Metro was perfect, there were restaurants and cafes galore in the neighborhood, it was a 5 minute walk from the beautiful Jardin de Luxembourg, and the concierge had the best suggestions for places to see that were less touristy.

the hotel is quite dark with a dark stairwell ( walls and carpet) dark hallway, and room with gray/black walls, gray tile and black furniture and bed cover.Somewhat gloomy with brilliant summer sun, would be depressing with rain in winter. My door was left open and ajar by housekeeping staff, discovered it at 10 pm. Single female traveler, made me uneasy about hotel security.

Small hotel, conveniently located.

This little hotel is located smack dab in the middle of everything in the 6ieme arrondissement. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. If you’re looking for a big hotel room, this might not be the place for you, but that’s just the way they are in this part of Paris. Everything in my room (and bath) was clean and new, with a little tiny mini-fridge in the closet.

Quirky small hotel well located for access to all parts of Paris. Local area has plenty of bars and restaurants and is quite lively on an evening.

Staff were very friendly and acommodating. In particular the staff on reception who couldn't do enough to make sure our stay was memorable for all the right reasons.

Decor was arty and the room layout was a little different to the usual box shape in more modern hotels which added some ambience.

Definitely will be booking this hotel on our next visit.

Why and when is a hotel experience enjoyable? This is surely a philosophical discussion worth having ... and it has to include having an understanding of the local context: a hotel in Paris has different hues and dimensions to one in any other city or country or continent. Then their is the \"eye of the beholder\" factor: what makes a neighborhood and residence friendly and attractive is to an extent in the eye of the beholder. And somehow these realities have to match up to one's expectations and the price ... Well, this hotel has not disappointed: the neighborhood is quiet, and also quietly dignified, unassuming and on the creative edge. The staff achieve the right balance between being unobtrusive and being a friendly presence when you need them. The rooms are compact but elegant and comfortable: the Nespresso machine in our room was a nice touch, and compliments the artistic flair that infuses the whole place. And, its close to the Metro and has two Velib bicycle stations within a block or so. Therefore, a great place to say for a very pleasant weekend in Paris!

Terrific base for exploring Latin Quarter

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel des Academies and would definitely return for another stay. The location was ideal, nestled off the busy through streets in a neighborhood environment. The only downside was a small room, which was an insignificant consideration as we enjoy being outside during the majority of our stay. The beds were quite comfortable and the staff exceeded every expectation. We greatly appreciated an upgrade to a larger room (on a higher floor) during the final days of our stay and look forward to coming back.

I like this hotel. It's clean, comfortable and quiet. Location is convenient for the Metro and RER, and in this area there are plenty of cafés, bars and restaurants. I've stayed on more than one occasion and happy to recommend it.

Oddly, although the room price is good for this quality of hotel, when booking on hotels.com the price quoted for petit déjeuner is extortionate so I usually go elsewhere for that.

The location is perfect, within 5 minutes walk to at least 4 metro stations and bus stops. Walking distance to several attractions such as the Luxemburg Gardnes, the Catacombs, and the Pantheon. However, the rooms are very small like most Parisian hotels. Walls are not sound proof despite of what they may say. I could hear everything the people next door talked about at 2:00am every night, it was impossible to sleep after 6:30am with the noise of people walking down the stairs and the constructions work. On the second day, I asked to be moved to a room on an upper floor because of the noise and the front desk was very accommodating. If you don't mind small rooms and the noise, it is a good place to stay.

Warm and friendly hotel, but with very small rooms

The good: service was great, and located in a cute area (even if a long-ish walk from the heart of St. Germain).

The not-so-good: The lobby and common areas had a distinctly dusty smell, the rooms were a little dated and very much on the small side (even for Paris), our room didn't have an external view (faced a brick wall), bathrooms didn't have total privacy...

Great area. Lots of nice restaurants and cafes.

Close to metro. Easy to get to from airport via RER and metro.
Fantastic cafes near by. Starbucks and Laundromat 1/2 block away

Hotel associates very friendly.

Although the room is small, it works.

Fabulous little hotel in brilliant location

Staff went out of their way to be helpful. Hotel is quirky with great atmosphere. Lots of great bars and restaurants nearby and within walking distance to main tourist destinations. We will definitely return!

Elegant, restful hotel in busy Paris

This is a wonderful hotel, in an interesting, artistic neighborhood, conveniently situated. The ambience is creative, elegant, restful; the staff are superb: warm, helpful, unintrusive. Oh... and the breakfast was special, especially taken on the red velvet chair among the art books. We'll be back.

Wonderful boutique hotel in a great location!

A wonderful boutique hotel in a great location! The hotel has a cool design and a charming, accommodating staff. The use of space and the amenities in the guest rooms are great. The hotel is located near the Jardin de Luxembourg and multiple metro lines in the 14th arrondissement near Boulevard de Montparnasse. You'll be close to everything you want to see but not stuck in all of the tourist craziness that you might find in the 1st arrondissement. We were very comfortable there for 4 days and got a great rate. A real find and we would return to Hotel Academies des Artes again!
