Terrific Location

We felt it was good value for the price. The facilities were a little dated, the room was a little small, but the beds were comfortable and there were upholstered chairs for each of us. The location was terrific—very close to a Paris Metro station, so we saw many sights without need of a taxi or Uber. Breakfast was included and adequate.

Good hotel in a nice neighbourhood.

Great hotel, we had the superior size room which was a good size for a Paris hotel. Excellent staff on front desk, very helpful. Good aircon but also you could open the windows. Nice bathroom. The only things stopping me giving it full marks are little things like a lamp beside the bed not working and the housekeeping staff didn’t always refill all the supplies fully (though I got what I needed from front desk). In terms of eco friendliness there was a water dispenser in the lobby which was great (instead of lots of bottles of water in some hotels) but I didn’t see anything about recycling or not replacing towels every day. Nice area, plenty of food and drink options close by.

Worst experience!
We chose a room based on the pictures placed for that room. We got a room on the 1st floor, nothing similar to the pictures. They have placed the pictures of their best room for all the categories, which is not fair.
Also, the receptionist had a very rude and a bad attitude when I was discussing with her about the room. She said she won’t change my room because Im only staying for one night. She meant it wasn't worth the change.
We also found some hair on the bed sheets and in the toilet.
I dont recommend this place!

Hotel location was good, needs a full refurbishment which is very old now. Amenities was not adequate although I have my own. Staff is nice and it will be better if counter staff mentioned room given was meant for wheelchair bound so I’m not caught by surprise.

Unhappy with the room space.

In 30 years of visiting Paris, I find this to be one of the best hotels I have stayed in. Staff across all services are friendly and helpful. The hotel was of course clean, safe and centrally sited with great transport links. Wonderful value.

Pretty decent (by Paris standards) but...

The Timhotel Montparnasse is actually pretty decent by Paris standards - I've stayed in quite a few places in Paris and generally the standard is lower than most other cities.

The room and common areas are generally clean. Traditional but slightly modernised. You get a kettle in your room, which is uncommon in Paris.

This is my second stay in this hotel and the last stay was better. This time, the room (the same time as last time) wasn't quite as nice and then the air-con broke down. Got fobbed off for 2 days over the weekend by one receptionist, who claimed not to be able to speak English or understand my French (which is admittedly poor), that people were looking at it and it would be repaired immediately and they couldn't change my room. Eventually, on Monday a different receptionist switched me to a room with working air-con, but only a twin room was available (annoying, tiny beds - smaller than UK single beds). I was told it was any upgrade (???) despite it being exactly the same as the previous room but with 2 tiny beds. I was i this room until the following weekend.
The night staff were actually friendlier and more helpful than the day staff, I found.

I found it annoying to have to stand at the door as people brushed past on the street until the receptionist noticed you or you rang the bell for them to open the door.

Montparnasse is great, Gaîté is very vibrant and a bit louder than elsewhere in 14th. Great access to metro.

I think getting a \"superior\" room is the trick here, because the extra chairs and small table in there gave us some room to put our things and sit away from the bed. Nice location that was quiet and comfortable. Great creparies only a few blocks away!

Nice staffs no doubt about it. Great location but the room is pretty small even for one person. I can understand it is located in a prime location (Montparnasse) but the price does not justify the quality of the hotel. I could have got a 1st class AirBnB for less.

We chose to stay here to be near Montparnasse station. The surrounding area was great with lots of restaurants cafes and bars. The Saturday morning market was a most enjoyable bonus. The room was very quiet and the beds were really comfortable. The staff were friendly and obliging. Would stay here again.

Hotel location is good, but ask for a room that is not on the street side because it is very noisy. For the price, the room is very small. And the breakfast included never changes. Pancakes (cold) and hard boiled eggs every morning. We would appreciate having different options, like an omelette from time to time.

Timhotel has 3 hotels in the Montparnasse neighborhood. All within walking distance to the Gare de Montparnasse. Make sure you arrive at the right one to avoid walking around in circles. The hotel is ok, basic. Lots of restaurants around and very near Metro station. I stayed only 1 night as I was just transiting. If you are the type who complains a lot, do not stay here. Go find a 5-star hotel. The description in hotels.com says they have some amenities and slippers. There is basic shampoo and soap but no slippers (pls remove it from your hotel description as it is misleading).

Perfect location in Montparnass

This hotel is perfectly situated. It is a short walk to the gare/metro Montparnasse. We were also able to get the \"bus direct\" on the street right beside the gare that took us right to the terminals we needed. The road this hotel Is on is lined with lovely restaurants.
The hotel itself is very nice. Hotel staff was extremely helpful. Now, the rooms are very small but that is to be expected. The bathroom door could only open part way before hitting the bed. The tiny bathroom itself was clean and well equipped. The shower was great.
I would definitely go back since I felt we got good value for the price.

Nice hotel, great location, near several metros.

My check-in went smoothly. I received a larger room than expected, I was very pleased by this. The hotel is a little old but everything was clean. The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful during my stay. There is a grocery very near and a lot of great restaurants nearby. I would stay here again. I really liked the area of Paris.

Very nice hotel in an excellent area of Paris - near restaurants, metro station and shops. Bedroom was small but perfectly adequate. Breakfast, although more expensive than some of the local restaurants, offered buffet style food and to that extent was better value. Lovely coffee and fresh orange juice. Would certainly stay here again. Airport bus leaves you within a few hundred metres of the hotel.

I booked this hotel to do the Pari roller Friday night skate. It was very close to the starting point of the group skate. There are also several Metro stations nearby within walking distance. Another plus is the convenient Le-Bus direct transportation to the CDG airport.

We had asked for twin beds, and when we got there..it was a double bed. There was a funny smell in our room...thank goodness for windows that open. Other than that, it was fairly quiet. The hotel staff were nice.

Convenient location

Hotel was OK. Small room, like many in Paris, was a bit cramped but clean with a comfortable bed. Conveniently located to many bars, restaurants, metro and close to train station. Just off of Montparnasse Blvd which is a great street to walk down with lots of eating places. Staff was very helpful and pleasant during our stay.

The hotel is in a good location. It was only a minute or two from the Edgar Quinet subway station. However, there is no lift in the station and if you are coming through Denfert-Rochereau, that station and no lift and what seemed like a million stairs for a tired older couple. The price is decent, better than most in that area, and the cost of food in the area is not bad at all. It is not that touristy. It was easy to get to the Eiffel Tower (take the M6 line toward Charles De Gaulle Etoile which is the Arc D'Triomphe), the Louvre (at Charles De Gaulle Etoile change to M1 eastbound, the opposite way from Le Defense), and Notre Dame (an easy walk from the Louvre.

The hotel is only minutes from Tour Montparnasse which has the best views of the Eiffel Tower, especially at night.

Family weekend in Paris

We made a spur of the moment decision to visit Paris for the weekend and opted for the Montparnasse area - a lively spot with a good variety of restaurants and 30-40 mins walk to all the tourist attractions that were on our list. Musee d'Orsay, Arc de Triomphe, Place de la Concorde, etc. The Batobus was an interesting mode of transport for getting around. Hotel Reception made us very welcome and held our baggage before we were due to book in and once again held our baggage until our departure at the end of the visit. I have already recommended this hotel to a friend who will be visiting shortly.

Timhotel Tour Montparnasse

This was our first time visiting Paris. We couldn't have had a nicer stay. The location is within walking distance of Gare Montparnasse. The staff was always available and very friendly. Our room was clean, looked just like the pictures, and we had room for our luggage. The area is extremely safe, and close to restaurants, stores and cute neighborhoods. No problems at all with the noise level. Paris was having a heat wave so we were thankful for the air conditioning. Would definitely stay there again!

Receptionist saved the day.

We arrived at the hotel after a 5 hour train trip and there was a technical problem and room doors could not be opened.
The receptionist was most apologetic and had booked us into another hotel not far away. We did not want to walk there with 3 cases so she organised and paid for a taxi for us and rang our airport shuttle for the next morning to change our pick up address. Also gave us bottled water to take on our way. The lady could not have been more helpful. We would have liked to experience the rooms at Tim Hotel.

Hotel is in a great location. Close to the metro, restaurants and shops.
Our room was pretty small, smallest room I've ever stayed in but the bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom were clean.
The walls are paper thin and our room shared a wall with another room, so if you are a light sleeper or get a bad neighbour it may be a little noisy.
The only negative we had is that we asked staff to book an airport shuttle. We gave them our flight time and being tourists took their advise on when we should leave. We thought the shuttle pick up time was cutting it a bit close. We asked 3 separate staff members if the Time was ok and they said \"I hope so\". At no point did they offer to move the shuttle forward even though we were concerned. We only just made internal our flight. It was a mad dash and extremely stressful. We did get there in the end, but thought staff should be a little less relaxed and accommodating in this aspect.

Just about enough room for two people in our room as it was very compact.
The bed though, was very comfortable and a good size.
The room had tea/coffee making facilities, but the milk/cream wasn't replaced and the cups were left unwashed for the first day.
The corridors to the rooms were very narrow, as too was the door to the shower room.
The shower room was small, but adequate. The toilet seemed to be unstable and creaked if you moved. The shower was great; hot and powerful, although the gap under the door meant that water managed to leak on to the floor.
The walls of the whole hotel did seem to be made from very thin partitions, with next to no sound insulation within them, I was woken by banging doors in other rooms and from the cleaning staff on more than one occasion.
There are safety deposit boxes available with a deposit of €10 (which is refundable), but these are not within the room itself.
Overall the hotel is a little dated and could do with a re-vamp, but it is in a good location, not too far from the sights (20-30 mins walk to the Eiffel Tower) and busy with local bars and cafés. There are three Metro stations in close proximity and this is a great way to get around the city.

Depends on the day and whose on duty..

I've had pleasant and unpleasant times at this hotel my room was decent, but not four stars. The room was clean when we arrived, but loud. There were items behind the doors left from previous guests as well as our room was not cleaned for two days because no one told us we needs to leave our key for that to happen. The breakfast staff was great, friendly and helpful- good breakfast. At no time during my stay, could I access wifi in room A2 (annex building) which I told every attendant and they seemed to ignore my request as stupidity. (I had access in the lobby, but not in the annex building; which I explained). Therefore, I spent a lot of time in the lobby. Not acceptable! That being said Alisa and Angelo are very friendly and helpful with advice on local places to visit. Tanya(so) is rude and needs to be more helpful to every person from all countries. Also, answering your phone in the middle of a full lobby multiple times is rude- not 4 star. I would stay again if the needs of the customer were heard and all staff were helpful.

Romantic Paris break

Room was surprisingly large, with fluffy bathrobes and was quiet considering the location. Hotel was close to main metro line which took us direct to Eiffel Tower and Arc de triomphe - the staff were very helpful telling us the best way to get around. Hotel was on a nice street with lots of restaurants and theatres and within walking distance of the Jardin du Luxembourg and Gare Montparnasse (which has a stop for the Air France bus shuttle from the Airport) - would definitely recommend!

Some weird things occur at this place

During the second night of my stay, the fire alarms wouldn't stop going off on each floor outside. I was there for a conference and so getting my sleep was necessary - and it's not possible when false alarms (which the reception described as a system failure) are going off every couple of hours. Comfortable hotel tho! Would come back :)

Hotel in great location

Our hotel, Timhotel Tour Montparnasse is on a small street that was filled with stores and cafes
and 1/2 block away from a major shopping/transportation square. Very convenient and everyone
in the neighborhood and hotel were friendly. Our first night at hotel, I complained to staff I was cold(it was comfortable in room but my hubby wanted air conditioning on high) so they gave us a lovely white down comforter for our bed - we slept like babies with it. The bed was very comfortable - thebest sleeping experience I've ever had traveling. Our bathroom was modern and had all the amenities. We loved the easy to use hot shower and my hubby liked that he could see the TV fromwhere the toilet was!! We took the option of having breakfast in the hotel, for 15 euros extra per person. The choices were numerous - eggs, croissants, fruit, etc but we found out that all the food was being delivered from outside restaurant - the hotel itself had no kitchen of its own. It was ok anyway but we also tried breakfast in cafes near hotel, not bad.
The hotel staff spoke English well enough when I needed a break from trying out my french. We had no problems with anything and I would recommend this hotel. The rooms aren't large but we didn't need to have anything more than the basic comforts, while we explored the city. The
hotel had free wifi and also a free computer in the lobby, so I was able to keep in touch with family and friends during our stay. We plan on returning to this hotel!

Hotel is located centrally - walking distance from Montparnasse and Denfert-Rochereau. Rooms are small. Windows are sound tight, air conditioning works great. Interior walls, however, are thin - can hear neighbors talk or flush toilet.

Good, solid place to stay

The employees were very friendly and helpful, though the evening guy didn't want to give a recommendation for a restaurant, telling me \"they were all good.\" Nice, clean. Only problem was only one electrical outlet that turned off when you turned the light off. Problem if you sleep with a cpap machine.

For the price the hotel was nor bad. The room was a little bit outdated, but nice. Love the idea of paintings reproductions in rooms. The staff was nice, and there are a lot of subway stations around. However, we booked Montparnasse location on purpose, but if you consider booking it you have to keep in mind that you'll have to use subway to reach almost all main sights, or get prepared to an hour walk.

Fabulous Location

First time in Paris. I know that older buildings have smaller rooms however, this did not dissuade me as I was not going to be in my room other than to sleep. Hotel was located within a few blocks of the train station and I had used Le Cars bus from the airport to arrive at the station. Metro was within a two min walk and was able to walk approx 1 hr 20 min to the Eiffel tower from this hotel. Room was clean and staff was courteous. I had reserved a three night stay and on the third night I asked the front desk if the room was available for one more night. I was told no rooms were available and told to go else where. I asked if another Tim Hotel had a room and was told to call... I asked the clerk to call and begrudgedly he finally did. He did explain that this is not his job and that he was filling in for someone else. I stated I wished to go to my room but had left my card in the room and wanted another one, the clerk then stated that replacement room cards are 100Eu...? Who charges this for a simple, no name plastic door card? Just then my friend returned to the hotel and she had her card... Next morning while checking out we were told that there were actually rooms available for that night... we did not stay as we had already checked in to another hotel down the street. Overall, the experience was fine apart from the one clerk who was totally inappropriate and rude. He worked evening of May 11th.

Excellent location

Room was small, but clean and modern. Hot showers, free WI fi. Appreciated being able to print our boarding passes from lobby computer. Great value and location. loved the montparnasse area. Lots of restaurant choices. Great gelato on the corner and sushi right next door. Used the scenic # 6 metro often and loved that the Edgar Quinet station was a block away. Sunday artist market and Thursday local market on Edgar Quinet street were a lot of fun. Easy walk from the Les cars CDG #4 airport coach drop off point. Loved the La Parisienne patisserie on Odessa a block away. Would definitely stay there again.

Everything was great

The person who checked us in was amazing, the service was great. He had good knowledge of the Metro and the surrounding area. He arranged our airport shuttle and helped us with our French. The room was very comfortable and clean. We had a great stay.

Vibrant atmosphere at location.

Small but comfortable room. Beds comfy.All extras/ refreshments supplied in room. Disappointed that required dual named invoice was incorrectly prepared at end of stay - despite promise that this would be ready.

Central location but not very comfortable....

The location is great in an area of Paris where I usually stay. However the room was very small, the walls are thin (meaning it is possible to hear conversations in neighbouring rooms) and there was no fridge (which meant we could not keep our own food in the room). They provide coffee/tea facility but the provisions were minimal and our room only had only one cup... The pillows in the bed were stuffed with foam which is uncomfortable. There were spare pillows in the ward robe but no extra blanket - which would have been useful given that we slept with the window open...

Staff very helpfull and friendly. Very well located: from Montparnasse, a lot of restaurants, patiseries, clothing stores, metro station an many other services.
I recomend this hotel.
