The hotel was surrounded by cafes. Great choices for dining. The hotel room was clean but the furniture was rather old and worn. The carpet in the common area was very dirty.The staff was pleasant and helpful.We were sent to the second location when we checked in. That site was not acceptable. The room was clean but bathroom was not acceptable as the toilet seat was damaged and very stained. We were moved when we voiced our issues.The staff were helpful and courteous.

We’re lucky to be upgraded to a triple room due to our last minute booking. The hotel is a small Parisienne hotel in the restaurant strip of Montparnasse. It is an old building but our room has had a refurbishment of the bathroom so apart from a small bit of mould on the window frame it was very clean. We opened the window to air the bathroom while showering. The room had a balcony looking over the street which we could use to dry laundry. Access to the Metro was excellent with two stations very close. Staff were helpful and friendly. Quite acceptable.

Unfriendly and unhelpful reception. Request for towels delayed for 3 days. Request for a bulb for the reading lamp, never happened. Toilet seat not fastened down and shifted around. The first night was NOT the room we requested. So we had to change rooms for the rest of the stay. The Hotel was NOT the one I paid for. They made us move to another building down the street. I don't know why. They didn't answer questions and were NOT friendly

When we tried to check in , the front office couldn’t find our booking and we were sent at another hotel that had a similar name cause he thought it was that one , just to get there and be told that it’s not that one , then after a while the booking was found at the first hotel and we were given a room in the back “garden” of the hotel and we were told it’s a “matrimonial room” , which it was obviously not as it was next to the hotel bins, had mould , the bed sheets were ripped , no phone in the room to get in touch with front office , the overall condition of the room was absolutely awful and beforehand we were told “we have no other rooms available “ , but because we were tired from the trip we had no other choice and decided to take it just to get some rest and eventually in the morning to find out that there were plenty of rooms available which was ok, breakfast was very limited with incredibly few options and from time to time pigeons were flying in and serving themselves from the empty table as bread and brioche were left for the next customer to come in . The hotel is in a nice area and it was easy to travel around as the metro station was next to the hotel . Awful experience for our first night in Paris

we basically stayed in our room to sleep, shower and get ready for the day. I wasn't happy with the original room they assigned to me so i told the concierge and the next day they showed me 3 possible rooms I can choose from. Robbie is very accommodating to my family. The staff is friendly as well. The location is perfect! walking distance to Edgar-Quintet station and theres many areas to eat, shop and drink. it is close to 5 corners and areas are not so far, easy uber rides and taxi to major attractions.

Learn some French it goes a long way. Great location, 15 min walk to Port Royal station to get to and from airport, about 2-3 min walk to the m-6 and m-4 metro, lots of food everywhere very close to the catacombs, and other large attractions. Very safe location. Great staff very helpful and very nice when I accidentally butchered their native language. Very understanding and even taught me a couple words in French! Would highly recommend and will be looking to book there next time I go back.

Not so good things: they say AC but it doesnt work. There is an ac looking appliance but we could not get the temp to change at all. So don't rely on that.

Shower was incredibly cramped. 6'7 so yea very difficult to shower.

If you want to turn on the lights and outlets you need your room card to be inserted into the white box thing next to the door. If it's not in there the lights and outlets won't work. Just fyi. Not an actual issue but we both never seen that before and it took us an hour or so to figure out lol

Very convenient location, right next to restaurants, a convenient store, laundry and a pib that stays open late. A quick ride to the eiffel tower. The staff is amazing. The hotel itself is dated, it's a good bang for the buck. My trip was with two other guy friends for the Olympics so it worked for us.

Shower wall and tub and bathroom need some deep cleaning and the property in general is falling apart, room smells like sewer. Not worth your money, do not stay here. The only good thing about this hotel was the guy at reception was nice and helpfull, beds are not comfortable, very small pillows, theres no wi fi, lights don’t work. One of the worst stays ever!

Rooms are small but clean. Daily room service with fresh towels. Elevator is small - only 3 people at a time. Breakfast is very basic but filling. Very close to Metro station. Watch out for pick pockets especially on transit. Had group of young teenagers swarm me as I entered the train. Managed to get my wallet but I noticed it immediately and confronted them. Managed to get my wallet back but didn’t notice money gone until after they left train. Fortunately they did get much $. They are very fast and professional. Bottom line if you feel a group of people crowding you watch out.

Small room and quite basic, but clean and comfortable, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room had its own door off an internal uncovered courtyard, which was rather charming and meant there was no traffic noise. Metro station 100m from front of hotel (1 easy change to CDG airport) and lots of places to eat within similar distance.

The style of the room we had reserved was not available (3 twin beds) but they gave us what they called a suite instead with a double bed and double sofa bed. It worked out ok for us because we were all sisters, but it may have not been ok if we were just friends.

The courtyard was very nice and quaint!

Love Montparnasse and nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Room really was too small however, despite having the little terrace. Moving between the end of the comfortable bed and wall to get from one side of room to other was extremely narrow and hard not to bump your head on the TV above. And the shower was tiny. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely use this hotel again on the promise of a larger room.

Hotel was in walking distance of my train station, La Gare de Montparnasse; with comfortable functioning rooms; etc. My only complaint: although the manager was polite and well intentioned, he sometimes misunderstood simple requests such as setting up a wake up call, and it was hard to understand his French. The room was very little and since we arrived the toilet was not working, we report it immediately and leave for the whole day, when we came back at night we were surprised it was still not working, that was a

The room we booked was confirmed through expedia, however upon arrival it was \"over-booked\" which i think was not true. Before we checked in there was a woman without a reservation asking if the hotel was booked. The hotel worker asked her to wait a moment while he helped us. His name was David and he was really rude at check-in. After looking up my reservation he told us he was moving us to the hotel down the street but when we got there it was clearly not the same quality as the hotel we originally booked. We waited hours before we finally got into our room. Later on when we went back to the hotel the lady without a reservation was checked in. He clearly moved us to a different hotel so that he could check her in, thinking we would not care. David said he would move us back to the original hotel for the second night. so the next day we checked out and tried to check into our new hotel around 12:30 and it was not ready. The day before we were told we could move rooms around noon. We waited around the lobby for an least another hour with our luggage and just decided to come back later. When we did come back to our new room the a/c was not working. I asked another hotel worker for another a/c unit and he was rude too. He said there were not a/c units and they were fully booked so we could not move into a different room. He told me that I could talk to them in the morning after i checked out. He said that was mornings shifts problem. This hotel clearly over books on purpose.

Paris tempers many ills. Great local food and quiet location overcomes poor accommodation maintenance and poor quality of attention to cleaning standards. None of the ambivalent Staff understood the AC, or the restroom accessories. Incorrect room assignment upon check in. Strangers barging into the room at 2 AM, by Staff mistake assignment of the room to two different families. No apologies. Correct room as booked, assigned after first night mistakes.

Nice hotel in nice district close to all amenities

I enjoyed my stay in this hotel where I stayed previously. The staff is quite friendly and the hotel is well situated in the Montparnasse area and close to the 6th arrondissement. There are a lot of restaurants, brasseries (Boulevard Montparnasse( and boutiques (rue de Rennes). I definitely will stay again as I have also members of my family nearby and therefore it is convenient for me to visit them

What's not to say. Great room, great staff. Mouses is awesome. He even showed up at the shop I was buying food at for my vegan daughter just to make sure I was ok. ON HIS TIME OFF! We also had Fabian as our driver all week. See Moussa, I HIGHLY recommend Fabian. Great experience. Oh and the little bird happily singing in the courtyard every morning was enchanting. Also, you can take bus #4 from the international terminal at CDG to Gare du Montpernasse. It's about a 5 minute walk from the tower and LOTS of places to eat. Just perfect!!!

My daughter and I used this hotel as a base while we chose her university accommodation and found it to be well suited to our needs. We had two rooms - good price - one on the second floor and the other on the fifth. Not much in the way of a view since we were at the back, but the rooms were quiet with good-sized and clean bathrooms (actually we had showers). Don't know if anyone was in the adjoining rooms but we certainly didn't hear them. Comfortable beds and more space than we had expected. For our purposes the location was excellent with a range of restaurants a short walk away, just up the street. I fully intend to stay there again when I travel from London to visit my daughter.

Be careful when booking a shuttle

Airconditioning is not working. Be care booking shuttle with them, I ask the guy is the front desk to book a shuttle for us to the train station in the morning. He said its 40 euros for the 4 of us.but I have to give him make a 15 euros deposit to confirm the booking. so I gave him the money,he called somebody on the phone speaking in language i couldn't understand after a few minutes puts down the phone and told me that my shuttle is confirm at 5am and we have to be infront 10min before five. he gave me a note saying that's the name and phone no.of the drive that would pick us in the morning. so 15min before five we were in front desk and another guy was there.15mins pass but still no shuttle so the guy in the front desk started calling the shuttle company, I gave him the note that was given to me the night before. He was talking to somebody on the phone then put it down. apparently no shuttle was schedule for us.He said he will just call a taxi so we won't miss our train.I told him we gave the other guy 15 euros he said there's nothing he could do about it cause its the guys commission for booking the shuttle. So this is my bad experience in this hotel.

I was given a beautiful suite when I arrived , it was quiet, charming, and within walking distance of Montparnasse train station. I chose to take a taxi because I was exhausted but it only cost 7 euros from the station to the hotel.

A piece of dungion in paradise

Hotel director was rude and unfriendly. Lobby has overwhelming odor suspicious of pesticide spray. There is black mold on the bathroom ceilings, showers, and walls. Shower curtains are rotting off of the rods.
We had reserved 3 rooms and when we arrived they sent us to their other property down the street which was worse. Rooms are completely outdated and there are holes in the bathroom walls. Air conditioning was turned off and when we asked for it to be turned on, the rude Director told us we should be outside enjoying Paris and not spending time inside. There is constant noise outside that you must listen to because if you close the windows, you will suffer from the black mold exposure.
Big problem is no smoke/fire alarms on the guest floors and halls poorly or absent lighting.
We picked free cancellation and the hotel charged the full amount and Hotels.com would not honor a cancellation. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Any negative review you read should be taken very seriously.

Central hotel for the Montparnasse area.

Good location, central to Montparnasse, not St Germain. The room was disappointing as it was nothing like pictured. It was dirty and after inspecting other rooms we took the least dirty room. The Hotel is in desperate need for a renovation as it is in a good location, a beautiful building, but tired and well over used. The hotel requires that you hand in your key when you come and go which was cumbersome. Some of the staff were very friendly and helpful others were not.

Got a great last minute deal on a double room. I have stayed in many hotels throughout Paris and this room was by far the most spacious and well kept room I have been in. The sheets and towels were promptly changed and the staff was very friendly and accommodating!

The worst hotel stay of my life.

First and foremost, i want to say i consider myself an easy going/ laid back person. Here goes my worst hotel experience. My wife and i arrive a Hotel Unit Renoir, the rude staff at the front then transfer me to a nearby hotel called Renoir Hotel. Thinking is the same line of hotels, i go there and it was a NASTY NASTY hotel with ripped bed sheets, cigarette stains, smelled moldy. After a 20 min phone call with Expedia about my wife and i refusing to stay there, we are told by he Expedia that a manager by the name of Standley has agreed to switch us to the UNIC Renoir Hotel. Once we get to the Unic Renoir Hotel lobby, the receptionist insist that both hotels are the same thing, i told him to prove it to me and show me a room, and he responds with an attitude and says \"I DONT HAVE TO\", at that moment i am about to jump the counter and strangle the guy, then a manager walks in and gives me the room without an issue. The room was better (remodeled), but WAY SMALLER and uglier from the pictures in Expedia. Shortly, after we decide to leave the hotel a new person is at the front desk and says, \"excuse me, you need to leave your room key\", I asked why and his response while STOMPING his hand on the counter was, \"JUST GIVE ME THE KEY\". I stomped back and told him to GIVE ME A REASON. He responded with, it is a security issue to ensure that we know who is coming in and out of the hotel. Apparently they had found people sleeping in the halls, hiding from the cold weather.

Don't stay here if you want decent night of sleep

Many creperies and cafes, so it was noisy outside our window. Looking only for a decent bed, my elbow literally fell between the springs of the mattress it was so horrible! And the 1 pillow was paper thin. I tried using my staightener and it just fell out of the wall socket. Horrible hotel.

The room was super small.and we took an elevator to the 6th floor that barely fit two people.The hallway and room were very dark. The bathroom smelled funny and it didn't seem well cleaned at all. It took my mom and I almost 40 minutes to find the location as the street is a bit hard to find. They wanted to charge us extra for breakfast but we said we wouldn't be eating breakfast there as we had to leave very early so they didn't charge it. However, they charged us hotel taxes and they said there was a 3 Euros extra charge per day which I reluctantly had to pay. If you're a single traveler who don't mind sleeping anywhere it is ok but if you're there with your family or partner stay away

Unfortunately, we only stayed for one night as air conditioning was not good at all. Temperature was hot and we could not sleep. This hotel is great for someone who likes the heat. Staff were very helpful

Close to Montparnasse, wonderful staff

We have stayed in this hotel now 3 times and each time have been pleased. The staff/reception is exceedingly friendly. The furniture in the rooms doesn't necessarily match and is rather used, but all the important stuff is excellent--cleanliness, quality of the mattress, highly functioning air conditioning, and consistency of hot water. And the price is very reasonable for a Paris hotel--so the quality of the furniture in my estimation is not of real importance if that helps to keep the price reasonable.

Great place to sleep

Great Hotel for the value but the one thing I wish I had known is that this hotel has two locations. Same hotel and everything but they are down the street from each other, and they offer a breakfast service but what they dont tell you is that if you use it they charge you per day at check out. I feel this should have been an upfront thing to say.

Paris Value Hotel not really a value.

The taxi dropped us of at the address listed, but then we found out that they had two locations and we had to walk with our luggage down the street. The concierge walked us down to the other location, which was nice. The room was small. Two issues we had with the room were that the bedspread was stained and looked disgusting. The other issue was since our room faced the street, even with the windows closed, we could smell cigarettte smoke from people on the street. The bathroom was clean there was air-conditioning, and a small elevator. The staff was helpful and friendly and the hotel was close to a Metro station.

Not what we booked

The location of the hotel is great, with a very short walk from the Metro and near the Montparnasse Tower where you can enjoy the sunsets on the roof terrace.

We arrived at the hotel to check in and were told the hotel was fully booked so we were allocated a room at their sister hotel across the road...This was not the hotel we booked and not by far the standard we expected. The staff were appologetic about this and explained the 'system' (which I am well aware of happens) of using their hotel as an overflow.
The room itself was small and it was hard to walk around the bed. The mirror on the wardrobe door had a big crack in it and the shower had black mould between the tiles (thick mould!), not very invitiing to step into. I had to re-hang the shower-door, as it was off the rails and hanging at an angle.

The bedding was clean, as were the towels (...) but the room was worn and not very clean. The lift was very small and only fitted two people and with a squeeze, our handluggage, too.

We had breakfast one morning and this consisted of

1 partbaked breadroll
1 partbaked criossant
1 danish pastry
1 small glass of orange juice
1 yoghurt
1 small pot of jam

This was 10 Euros. The waiter stood about 2 yards from our table and looked at us all the time while we were eating. No wonder there were no other guests in the basement breakfast room.

This was a week end away for my daughter and I, a special treat and some precious mother-daughter time alone. We spent time looking for a hotel we would like to stay in and that looked reasonable for the money. This is not the hotel we booked and I woud not have paid the full amount for this level hotel. We have travelled around the world for many years and are aware of varying standards and that the star-ratings are not consistent across the world but this was way below anything we would expect.

The hotel is situated in a nice area with lots of eating places and close to a metro stop so movement was easy.We got there at 5.30pm after an overnight flight and our room was not ready.We had to wait an hour.The room was up 2 flights of a narrow spiral staircase with no one to help with luggage.I adked for 2 extra pillows everyday and was promised but never got them.

Run away! This is a nightmare...

This is a scam. They are selling you a room with a big discount at the 4 stars Hotel Unic Renoir. And when you show up there, the front desk tells you that 'No, you've been booked in to the other hotel' of the group which is a few yards away and simply named Hotel Renoir (without the Unic - You will understand why). So not only you've been misled in your booking by Hotels.com but your stay in the 1-2 stars hotel turns out to be a nightmare. Arrived late, the front desk refused to help us settle in the room. I was alone with 2 kids. There was missing one bed. The guy did not want to provide another one (I specifically requested a sleeping for 3). The aircon was not working and we had the feeling to be in an oven. The guy did not want to change us to another room. He also refused to give me the WiFi password (Free WiFi was advertised). I had to go back to the Unic Hotel to complain to the front desk so someone came with me and they both had an argument. We finally got a 3rd bed, with the sheets and cover thrown on it. Our mission was to set the bed up. We could barely sleep as we could hear all what was happening in the other rooms around ours (up, down, left, right...).

Good location

Hotel in good location-restaurants everywhere. Pleasant hotel- room older and needs little update and deep cleaning. Basic cleaning very good- but one day they only cleaned 1/2 the room- as it was a suite with 2 rooms only one bed made and bathroom cleaned. A/C listing for hotel a joke- pitiful little wall unit that did not work. If only the temps were normal and not hotter than average it might have been o.k.. For the price and location a good deal! check in and out easy. Staff spoke excellent English - so we had no problems there.

Loved our stay here

The people who worked reception were wonderful. They helped us with very useful information to make our visit enjoyable. The room had air conditioning and a small balcony overlooking the street. The street has many creperies and the hotel is located in an area with good shops and is close to the Gare de Montparnasse (to travel to Versailles).

Hotel was a decent place to stay but the fifth floor rooms were far too warm. Walls are thin so neighbours could hear everything. The staff in the morning were delightful and very helpful but the night staff were moody and very unhelpful leaving us standing outside while he was away from reception. Area not too great for clubs but the metro was helpful and a cheap way to get to ceNtral paris. Overall a mediocre yet cheap hotel to stay at for SHORT trips.

In great location, hotel is OK for a stay and sleep

The location is the great thing I love about staying here. I was with my friends in Paris in 2008 in another hotel which is the location is not that great. We had difficulty finding restaurants and had to walk for miles to the train stations. But, here was just love love love. Hotel area is great. Just a minute or less walk to train station, galeries lafayette mall and many more. You all would enjoy the area. Restaurant everywhere and we felt safe late at night. You could find a disco bar just the next bldg. The hotel itself is OK, if you just want a room to stay and sleep in. Never had a breakfast in the hotel. but they have. The only thing was the elevator is not working and on the 1st day they said that it would be fix the next day, but until we check.out it wasn't fix and needed to bring down our 23kilos x3 luggage through stairs, but got free wifi for that. And lastly, while booking I saw that they offer airport transfer. I ordered but they never came and when I asked upon arriving they said that didn't have received it and need to pay extra for it.

Don't stay here!

Disgusting room. Hundreds of bed bugs on bed, wall and floor. I'm feeling sick just by writing about it. I would never stay there again or recommend it. However, the staff felt so bad about it and changed our room. If they hadn't we would have gone elsewhere. Scarred for life!

You can not have everything. For a short stay, you will have what you need. If unfortunately you have left too fat, you will experience some difficulties to enter the bathroom shower, but still you will have a wide and clean bed in a cramped room. The reception is good, if one excludes the excessive concern of someone who talks a lot and goes back on what he said. But just as important, Paris is there so close!

Clean but small hotel

We were a bit disappointed to be told upon arrival we had to walk down the street to their lesser hotel as we had booked on Expedia. The hotel was clean and the staff extremely nice and very helpful. The room was old and the bed's were very hard with one tiny pillow.
