The location is perfect for access to the Airport, subway stations, Montparnasse train station and many bus stops. There are tons of restaurants and shops close by. While the rooms are small, we didn’t spend much time there because we were always out seeing the sites. Great place to stop and drop into bed.

Hotel is walking distance to most of Paris monument and 5 minutes to metro station M12 & 11 minutes from RER. Amenities are bare minimum. Elevator only fits two persons or one person and one large luggage. Bathroom tub has no shower curtain so water plushest everywhere when shower. Unless bathing who baths anymore. Breakfast is cold bread and croissant. Fruits is okay. Workers are awesome and friendly. Front desk person speaks English very well.

The staff were very helpful and welcoming! It was a quirky boutique hotel. Issues with light in the elevator and hall on our floor. But other than that, was wonderful! Loved the neighborhood - quaint and beautiful cafes and gelato nearby. Great access to several metro stations and bus stops. Would recommend to those who don't mind a bit of quirkiness. It was charming.

The room was clean and a decent size for Paris. The bathroom did not have a shower just a hand held shower head in a bathtub which was inconvenient and annoying. The staff member on the front desk was very reluctant to call me a taxi to get to the airport which is something hotel staff are usually very happy to do.

Friendly staff. Carpet VERY worn. The room is small, but we were more concerned about costs and knew what we were getting. The bathroom was fine except the tub had a half wall and there was no way to take a shower without spraying water everywhere. I also did not like the lack of a safe for valuables. The key fob was enormous, but I took it off the ring while we were gone from the hotel and then put it back on when we checked out.

The staff was so helpful and friendly and the area was great. But… the carpet was really dirty, there was a 1/2 eaten candy bar in the minibar, and the bathroom floor was really dirty. When we checked out, they had us listed as taking 2 waters from the minibar, which we didn’t. They fixed it, but not very observant since they didn’t really check when the previous party checked out. Would we stay again, probably not.

Discovering the petite bijoux
Whether or not it was a joyful experience I would rather say it was a moment of discovery. This petite bijoux as it is well known by only a few that are connoisseurs of the area has many secrets. From the deco that has been tastefully chosen, in particular the vibrant paintings placed around the hall and the breakfast room to the amicable staff, the hours passed. It just needs a fresh update to make a stay infinitely pleasant.

The room AC at this hotel periodically cuts out and doesn’t restart. This led to us having a TERRIBLE night, with the room getting up to 29 degrees. The worst part of the experience was that when I told the desk staff they denied that it was true. For any unfortunates who already have a pre-paid reservation at this hotel, apparently quickly double-tapping the “on” button will get it to restart (can’t actually confirm). But the main point is that it is NOT OKAY for the AC to shut off during a heat wave, and for a room to get hot enough for the guests to wake up in discomfort, and it is really NOT OKAY to behave like they’re crazy when they complain about it.
I will also note that our bathroom did not have a shower, contrary to the Expedia listing. A bathtub with a hand wand is NOT a shower. Starting every day crouching in the very deep, hard to climb into bathtub while holding a hand wand over one’s head isn’t a fun way to start the day.
I also have to admit utter incredulity at the idea that this is a 3 star hotel. Maybe different rules apply in Paris. But based on the aged furnishings, small rooms, bashed up paint etc. this would be a 2 star at best in any other part of Europe.

This is a lovely little hotel, very comfortable and welcoming, in a great location. It's near Luxembourg Gardens, Blvd. Montparnasse and other left bank sites. We were very pleased we decided to stay for a night here [rather than at the airport]. Well worth the commute to the airport to have a \"city\" stay to enjoy a good restaurant and a delightful neighborhood.

Helpful , friendly and accommodating staff ,we arrived very early and hoped to leave our bags until it was time to check in but were allocated a room for which we were very grateful. Also able to leave our bags after check out as our flight was in the evening , this was much appreciated . Quiet location in evening even though the area is bustling with café's and bars . I would stay here again . Only thing that would have improved our stay was a kettle in the room .

The service here was incredible and everyone who worked here was super nice. The room itself was OK on cleanliness, but the towels felt a little weird and there were stains on the carpet. There were little things broken in the room, but nothing that ruined my stay. I did not feel like the air-conditioner was up to the standard I hold for AC.

The stay was interesting, starting with the tiny elevator that couldn't fit the 2 of us plus carry-on luggage. Front desk was friendly, and you have to leave the key with them as you go out. Only a tub in bathroom and shower head. No shower curtain, so that means you either sit to sort of shower OR take a bath. Bathroom was cramped but fairly clean. One thing that irked us was the towels were not replaced unless asked, and it seemed like the housekeeping people just folded used towels back? Newly replaced ones had heavy cigarette smell, not clean towel smell you would expect. TV on the wall was tiny and at weird angle, good thing we weren't there to watch TV. Location is pretty good, easy access to Metro and bus stops, not too far from Pastry Shops and the Luxembourg Garden. Had a tiny fridge but we didn't drink anything from it. Bed was comfortable, but the bathroom situation was annoying enough that I am not sure if I would stay again (perhaps there's another layout?)

The perfect hotel for access to the rest of Paris
Home away from home. Quiet, only 15 rooms, excellent customer service and continental breakfast, in a wonderful neighborhood. Its very close to three Metro Stations (#4-#6-#12) and two Bus Stops (#58-#82) right down the street, which makes travel planning to other parts of the city very easy. Luxembourg Gardens is an amazing gem that is so close you can walk there in only a few minutes and enjoy its magnificent beauty daily. We will definitely stay at Hotel Danemark on our next trip to Paris.

The staff was welcoming and helpful, our room was off the street and there was a lovely lady across from us whom we said hi to daily. The hotel is centrally located to many bus lanes which we took full advantage of. Many many restaurants and cafes just right around the corner. Very pleased that we stayed here as it was so close to many attractions.

hotel Danemark is a small, 15 room Hotel, 3 rooms per floor, with a sophisticated, urban atmosphere. A charming contrast to the mega Hotels near the Gare de Montparnasse, only blocks away. We felt like short term Paris residents instead of tourists, enjoyed the Cafés and bakeries on the block. The room was small but nicely furnished, the bath well proportioned. I can't wait to go back.

Perfect little hotel
We first arrived at the Danemark at noon on a Sunday, after a red-eye from NY. As soon as we walked in, they said, \"Bon jour!\" and gave us the keys to our rooms. My partner and I stayed in one room, and my sister had in the room next door. Both had views of the lovely, quiet Rue Vavin. This was our first trip to Paris and we stayed 8 nights. We could not have been happier with the location and neighborhood, or with the quiet and comfort of our restful rooms looking out onto a famed, lovely apartment building. Every time we returned from our museums and site-seeing, it felt cool, comfortable, private, and quiet; we especially loved the beds. The hotel offers breakfast, but we thought it was fun to go out looking for pastries and coffee. Oh, and there's a Starbucks around the corner, for those Americans who need big cups of coffee! A block from Luxembourg Garden, a 15 minute walk to the Seine, walking distance to the Pantheon, St. Sulpice, Les Deux Magots, the Latin Quarter, Shakespeare and Company. And we're 58 and 60, so when I say walking distance, I'm not talking about a hike! The elevator is big enough for maybe two people and a suitcase, and the staircase is spiral, so be ready to make a couple of trips up if you have a lot of luggage. However, the elevator was very reliable and not too slow. Great staff, clean hotel, clean, cozy rooms, good air conditioning, great windows to either open or leave closed, on a perfect little street in a great neighborhood.

Wonderful, safe location near many restaurants and shops. Hotel front desk personnel were mostly helpful. Beds were comfortable. No top sheet so the duvet got very warm at night. Room is very tiny but has the basics. Bathroom was very clean, but there is only a hand-held shower wand, and the tub is high and narrow. One must take care to get in and out. The towels were the least soft of any hotel we've stayed in; they were almost crunchy to the touch, and the maid forgot to give us new ones on the second day. We did not try the food. The lift is tiny and holds only two persons with no luggage, and stairwell is dark and winding. Overall, we must give this hotel a good review for location and cleanliness, and a needs improvement ranking for tub, lift, and linens.

My son and I stayed there for four nights while touring Paris. Overall the hotel was nice and mellow. The neighborhood was not too touristy and we felt very comfortable. Being near the Luxembourg gardens was very nice as they are beautiful. Plenty of metro options and easy walking access to many great sites. The hotel was easy to find near the Varin stop. The staff was friendly and the room was new and clean compared to other places I've stayed in Paris. There wasn't a standup shower so the handheld was kind of a drag. Overall I would stay there again and certainly in the same general area.

In for our son's wedding, we chose this hotel from the reviews and it lived up to all the good ones. It is a boutique hotel and therefore small. Clean, well maintained and renovated,also quiet. Neighborhood was lovely and the staff was amazing. We had various challenges and they graciously helped us with everything. Tub is long and deep but a bit hard to get out of and the towels were stiff. Found out the place is family owned and that added to the charm. Would stay again.

I stayed at Hotel Danemark for my first trip to Paris last week and I had a great time. Staff was very helpful across the board. Location is great - close to a lot of good cafes and parks. Metro station is right around the corner so going anywhere in the city was a breeze. Room is clean, comfortable and sufficient - no bells and whistles but it has everyone you need for comfortable stay.

Location in the 6th arrondisement was great. Staff couldn't be more helpful. So that was all great. Rooms are small, but you're not in them much, and there aren't many amenities. No coffee maker in the rooms, although there is a pricey minibar. Overall, appropriate 3 star stay!

Danemark is a small hotel beautifully situated in Rue Vavin, Luxembourg Gardens at one end and Bvd Montparnasse, with its great choice of places to eat at the other. Metro Vavin is close by, but I chose to walk whenever I could, as you see so much more and the position is so close to everything. We had a twin room which was very comfortable and very clean. The bathroom was surprisingly big and had a full sized bath. The staff was always polite and helpful, especially as my French was limited and their English better. There is a great variety of cafés and restaurants to choose from within easy walking distance.

Great value hotel near Luxembourg Garden
This is a small hotel like the ones you can find all over Paris but their attention to comfort (best bed I have slept in on many trips to Paris) and client service (umbrellas for our use in a stand in the lobby) far exceeds its humble demeanor. Our bathroom, tiled in white marble with a (small) bathtub was much larger then usual and included touletries from L'Occitane. The room was painted blue instead of the usual antiseptic white or beige and everyone who worked the desk was VERY nice and helpful. There was plenty of room for our stuff and the air conditioning worked very well. All of this a few blocks from the most beautiful garden in Paris and two subway lines! Will definitely stay there again, and this is the first time I have said this!

Very pleasant hotel
We enjoyed our stay and would cheerfully stay there again. The only reason I rated the rooms at 4 instead of 5 is that the rooms are small, but this is true of many excellent three-star hotels in Paris. The Danemark rooms were comfortable, nicely appointed (small fridge even). My daughter and I stayed in a twin. The beds were comfortable, the linens were spotless, and unlike the room, the full bath was very modern and even spacious. I chose the hotel for its location, a quiet side street very close to Montparnasse and a two-minute walk to the Jardin du Luxembourg. Ten or fifteen minutes to Saint Germain des Prés and ten minutes to the Latin Quarter if you walked across the (beautiful) gardens. It's also handy to metro stops, and there is a small adjacent street with a laundry (if you're staying longer) and a little green grocer. One of the best things about the place was the incredibly helpful and multilingual staff - they could not have been more professional or polite. I would recommend it to friends.

Hotel Danemark is in a great location, in a quieter neighborhood, but close to several Metro stops and within walking distance to a few sights. Our room had huge windows that opened out onto the street with a fantastic view. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The room itself was a bit cramped, but worked fine for us. It's worth noting that the shower head is not mounted on the wall, but attached to the faucet by a cord.

Nice pad to use as base while visiting Paris.
Found the hotel very easily from the Vavin métro stop (also close to Notre Dame des Champs métro stop). Small but functional twin bedded room looked recently renovated, bed extremely comfortable. Bathroom door did not shut well but still afforded privacy. Staff very friendly and efficient. Although our check in was slightly delayed, we were able to leave our cases at the hotel which were then brought to the room once ready. Would go back again. Situated in my favourite 'arrondissement' of Paris, close to cafés, restaurants and the Jardins de Luxembourg.

This hotel is fantastically located, we didnt catch the Metro once. The surrounding bars and restaurants were amazing, we can really recommend the St Germain area for this. The rooms were very clean, although they are small which is to be expected given how centrally the hotel is located. The staff were very friendly and keen to help us discover Paris, but we didnt really ask for much beyond the odd bit of information or for them to book a restaurant on our behalf. The hotel doesnt really have any amenities to speak of beyond the rooms, although they do do breakfast which we didnt have because we prefer to explore and find cafes, delicatessens and bakeries to eat in the morning. It is a bit noisy at night, although this didnt effect us too much. We really enjoyed our trip and cant wait to go back. If we stay in this area in the future we will definitely think about Hotel Danemark again.
