First of all, the positives: the staff are quite friendly and accommodating and the hotel is conveniently located very close to Gare de Paris-Montparnasse and metro stations.

Unfortunately, like many small independently-owned hotels, it’s not the most comfortable place to stay. The bed was fine, but the walls were not soundproofed . I could hear conversations in the room next door and even the sound of someone using the toilet in the room next door. Thankfully, I had silicon earplugs with me, or I wouldn’t have been able to sleep. The bathroom had been renovated, but the shower was cramped and the water pressure was very weak. The worst, however, was there were no amenities … no tissues (except for toilet tissue), no kettle to boil water for tea or coffee (which, obviously were also not provided). The hotel doesn’t even provide a complimentary bottle of water. That’s not an environmental choice either, as there’s no complimentary water fountain or service downstairs in the lobby either.

The photos provided on Hotels.com for the room I reserved do not correspond at all to the room I had. The cute balcony is a nice eye-catcher, but it wasn’t in my room.

Despite a very pleasant staff at the hotel, this experience was not worth the price paid.

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. They are under sonstruction with scaffolding so the balconies were unavailable but I imagine once fixed they’ll be much more attractive. Good for the price. Great location. Friendly staff. Loved Rocket!

The hotel is an excellent location, the neighborhood is filled with different restaurants and super convenient for going to any part of the city. We booked for the location over the actual rooms. The hotel is under some renovation until April 2026, so our balcony room was covered and there were workers during the day. I do wish the rooms were a little nicer, the carpets seem really dirty but the staff and the overall experience was wonderful. The showers were hot and water pressure was great, just some small details could be cleaner or refreshed. There is an elevator for those on the higher floors and again, the staff are super nice.

The location is great with so many cafes and restaurants nearby. Metros # 4 and 6 are also within walking distance. We stayed for 4 nights and felt safe the whole time even when we got back late to the hotel.

Staff is very nice and they helped me print out the train ticket to another city.

We got a standard room and the size is ok but our bed is small for me and my daughter. The room and bathroom are clean though, so we feel comfortable.

With the great location and cleanliness, we will stay again at Hotel Odessa when we get a chance to come back to Paris.

Hotel Odessa is a hidden gem in Montparnasse

Lovely stay. Clean, with wonderfully clean sheets, bathroom was separate to toilet and had a super relaxing bath with great shower pressure and hot water.
The receptionist Nicolas, is also an artist and will paint your portrait if you like. Lovely man, and made our stay very pleasant.
The area is packed full of creperies and brasseries and bars and cafes. Great, great area! We will definitely be coming back to stay again. Close to Metro but tbh, if you have good weather, it's nice to walk everywhere. Hotel Odessa is a hidden gem.

Nice hotel, but small rooms. Convenient to metro and close to restaurants and shops. Can be noisy at night with people talking late hours and vehicles / construction that seem to start very early in the day. Not sure if I would stay again, but overall it was nice

Perfect little hotel in the artsy area of Montparnasse. I had the family room that was 2 adults and 2 kids. The room is very small but extremely clean. It was perfect for us because we were out most of the day. Only thing missing for us was a little fridge. It was well located. 30-40 min walks to tourist attractions but many trains available within blocks that took your the attractions 15-20 min.

Méteo (1 min) and Gare Montparnasse (less than 10 minutes) are so close which can get you almost anywhere quickly. Neighbourhood is lively but not noisy. Would stay again out of convenience.

Very pleasant stay. Room was small but perfect for me travelling solo. Had everything I needed. Balcony was lovely! Staff at reception were so friendly and kindly let me keep my bags there after checkout. Area is quiet, a little further from the main tourist sites. Probably too far to go on foot, but very close to the metro and regional train station. My only negative was that it was a little pricey but I guess that’s Paris for you!

Staff was great. I was able to leave my luggage with them early in the morning and then on check out day leave it again in storage until late in the evening. Room was very small but if you go to Paris you are not going to spend your day inside the room, so that didn’t bother me. Only complain is the bathroom shower is really really small.
The area is GREAT! Right in front of the train station to the Eifel Tower and vicinity.
Bonus is that it has a lift so you don’t need to carry your luggage upstairs.
Restaurants around were great too. I would stay here again.

The welcome to the hotel was lovely with very friendly staff throughout the stay. The hotel has a lift which was really useful as we were on the second floor. The lift is very small, so we just put our luggage in and went up to meet it which worked well for us. The room was a good size, and had a separate toilet which is a great feature. The toilet had no sink, so we needed to wash our hands in the bathroom, and it had all the hot water pipes which made it a bit hot but there is very effective air conditioning in the room, so it made up for that. The bathroom was very clean and will equipped. The walls are a bit thin which means you can hear some noises beyond your room but it didn't really bother us. The location of the hotel is absolutely fantastic! There are so many great restaurants, a market and a supermarket literally on the doorstep. There is also a metro station a minute walk away and another line about a fiver minute walk. Overall this was a fantastic place to stay and we would highly recommend it!

We stayed here twice, in different rooms. The main floor above the restaurant, was unfortunately very noisy. Upper floor was just fine. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Rooms very nice, bright and close to transit, restaurants and so much more. Tiny, but welcome elevator.

What a gem! 5 stars. My superior double was clean, modern and compact but well laid out. Large windows open to see the neighborhood below. A 5-minute walk to the train station in a much nicer neighborhood, and a Metro stop right across the street. Loads of cafe's nearby. No complaints at all. I will be back.

I will never go back to Hotel Odessa, as long as the new management is in charge!
More than two years ago, before the pandemic, I made a reservation for five nights. Covid arrived and I had to change my travel dates, quite a few times. The airline changed my ticket without any problems. Hotel Odessa did the same thing but after 18 months, or 24 months, they said that they can no longer change the dates. I told them I understood their position and that I do not mind losing more than $500.00. I really felt that small businesses needed help and I actually felt good supporting this hotel.
Then, once my travel dates were finalized I made another reservation and paid for another five-night stay. I was supposed to arrive in the evening of August 6. Once again the airline changed my ticket and instead of the evening of August 6, I arrived in the morning of August 7. I wrote to the hotel and told them about this minor change. They wrote back and said that everything was fine. I arrived on August 7, at about 9:00 AM and they told me that they had rented my room and that it won’t be ready before 12:30 PM! I thought that they were going to give me credit for the night of August 6 but they said No! And they kept saying that this is totally legal! I had to go to a restaurant to use the bathroom and I missed an important meeting that I had scheduled for that morning. I missed the meeting because his hotel wanted to milk me for an extra 100 dollars. I will never stay at this hotel again.

The room was large compared to other hotels I've visited in Europe. It was cute and quite clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.

My one and only complaint was there was no fridge in the room -- not a huge deal, just a nice convenience.

We thought all the “10”s were a bit generous. The location was great, the staff were very friendly and helpful, but to me a 10 means incredible. The room was small (expected), a bit noisy (not unexpected in an older hotel), and the internet was marginal at best and nonexistent at worst (my phone kept flashing between wi-fi and cellular, and my iPad couldn’t stay connected at all). But with all that said, we’d stay there again

Great hotel for our family vacation to Paris. The location was in close proximity to public transportation which helped considerably. The hotel is located near cafes, creperies, bakery, and a mini-market.

The hotel rooms were larger than expected with a bathroom that included a full size bathtub. The hotel has windows that overlook the street. There is some street noise if you leave the windows open. At night we closed the windows and used the air conditioner in the room. We were surprised at how late Parisians stayed up at night. The cafes and creperies were open past 11:00 pm.

The rooms were clean and well serviced. Breakfast was optional at an additional cost. I would recommend going to a café or creperie along the street for a better experience. The hotel has a two person elevator which is helpful if your room is on a higher floor. We used the stairs once during our visit.

This is an older, charming hotel in a great location. There are seven rooms on each floor, we stayed in room 63 on the top floor (French 6th floor, American 7th floor). Because the hotel is on the corner of a multi-street intersection, our room was an odd shaped corner room. One window looked out to Rue Odessa and the other looked out on Boulevard Edgar Quinet. This meant Thursday night we could watch the marching Celtic band on Odessa and the Celtic singers and dancers on the Boulevard. Also, Wednesday and Saturday from 7 - 2 is when the farmers market is on the Boulevard. The hotel is not ADA accessible, as there are two steps from the sidewalk up to the lobby and one more step up to the elevator which is too small for a wheelchair. But if mobility is not an issue, this is an excellent little hotel in a great neighborhood with a load of great ethic restaurants, a Metro stop and Gare Montparnesse a five minute walk away. The hotel has a semicircular stairwell from the lobby up to the top floor and has many quirky characteristics. Our room had two large twin beds, desk and two chairs, closet, separate room for the toilet and a large tub/shower and sink in the bathroom. We enjoyed the room and the room service breakfast they provided.

Loved the hotel, perfect location right next to Metro Line 6 which takes you directly to the Eiffel Tower. Room service is well worth the 8€ and arrives at your room almost immediately after making the call. A night watchman is always at the door if you arrive back late. Room had a great view of Montparnasse with wonderful Cafes and a Pharmacy located right out the door. The catacombs are a short walk away with the Montparnasse Cemetery in between. Overall great little hotel and we'll certainly be back in the future.

Wonderful well appointed hotel in a fantastic and convenient location. We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay at Hotel Odessa Montparnasse. The staff were very helpful at all times and our family room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was newly renovated and also very spacious. The hotel only offers a room service type breakfast however there are numerous cafés and bakeries located nearby. The hotel is accessed via 2 metro/train stations and is within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower and main city attractions. This hotel offers value for money and we would stay again without doubt. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Family of 4 enjoyed our stay. Location is literally about 1 min walk to the metro station which has a direct line to the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe. Convenient and very easy to use for tourists. Multiple cafes in the area. Hotel staff speak English, very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

We chose this hotel because it is near my daughters apartment. It is also near the metro and made it easy to get around. We had a room with a double and two twins. The room was small but the beds comfortable. The bathroom and shower were very nice. We stayed one night, then traveled around and went back for three additional nights. The lift was out of service for our entire stay so suitcases had to be carried up winding stairs.

Front desk staff was so friendly and helpful! Quad room #40 on the fourth floor was great, but warm due to the hot weather without A/C. Had to keep the windows open for the breeze. The spiral staircase was the only option due to elevator being closed, so this will be an issue for anyone with mobility issues. The neighborhood was awesome with many restaurants. Prime location between 2 metro stops and near major train station Gare Montparnasse. We would definitely stay here again.

The front desk was very nice and even upgraded us to a family room. However, the room had long curly brown hair in both the bedroom and bathroom. The ceiling was moldy and the sink in the bathroom did not drain properly. The air conditioning did not keep the room cool and house keeping insisted on turning off the AC while we were out. The street noise was kinda loud till about 11 due to the restaurant business near by.
Overall it is in a good location. If you're looking for affordable then this is your place. Very close to the metro and convient to many restaurants.

A very good hotel located within walking distance to the Montparnesse Railway Station.
We arrived at night, hailed a cab but the driver told us the hotel was nearby and we could walk. Good advice. We stopped one or two more things to make sure we were heading in the right direction. Found it straight away.
The walk goes through local streets lined with cafes. Lots of life, lots of people.
Hotel is located right at the corner of a major intersection. Big neon sign above and large, busy cafe at ground level.
Reception office is located to the Right of the cafe (while facing cafe).
Good desk service. English is spoken.
A typical traditional city hotel room: snug, but big enough to be comfortable. Good bed, nice bath with tub+shower. Electric outlets for recharging and A/C... everything you'd need.
In addition on Wednesday morning we awoke to find a large market below on the d Odessa - everything from shoes to produce and textiles. A great part of Paris.
If you can be satisfied with a 3* hotel (my personal rating) this could be a good choice for you.

Nice hotel in a great location

This hotel is in a great area with lots of cafe's, restaurants and activity. It's across from a Metro station which is great for getting around. Our room was spacious and had a great view. The staff was friendly and helpful. I loved being in Montparnasse - it's vintage Paris. I would definitely return.

Great location a few minutes from Gare Montparnasse and the Metro stop was just across the street. Great vibe in the area; many restaurants and cafes; close to the catacombs (2 subway stops) but be prepared for a 2 hr wait unless you get there early! Great subway access to other parts of the city. Hotel staff were very nice and accommodating; 8 Euro continental breakfast was cheaper than most in the area. Also has an elevator which is a decent size plus spiral staircase for 6 floors.

Room was large by European standards and the bathroom was also lovely, big and bright with an opaque insert window/door that opened onto the small deck.

Excellent night in Paris

Excellent location. Steps from the metro line 6 that goes direct to the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe and much more. Five minute walk to the Montparnasses train station as well. Service was super friendly and helpful. Room was great for a family of four with three beds. Clean and tastefully decorated with comfortable beds. Excellent windows that opened up to the vibrant neighborhood below.

If you taking day trip to see chateau or mont st michel the train station is 5 min walk. You are in the middle of everything. Include a bunch of popular restaurants. You are right on top of them. We were there when weather is cool and windy. There was a flea market between cemetery and that 56 story building, they are selling kind of antique. We enjoyed it.

Nice hotel in Montparnasse

Great hotel close to everything. The accommodations were great, room was small but it was nice and cozy. Big bathroom for Paris. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They have a 24 hour front desk. The area outside is full of cafes and crêperies, and we also found a pharmacy and a laundromat within a 2 minute walk. I would definitely stay here again.

Great staff, great location

It is difficult to imagine a better hotel at a reasonable price with a great location. You are outside the usual tourist area so you have a real sense for the culture of the city. However access to all of the sightseeing is very easy with two very close metro stations and a train station all within a three minute walk. There is a open air market on the weekends. There are several restaurants very close to the hotel. It also seemed very safe at all times. The rooms were A little bit small, but they were very clean and had everything that you would need. I can't say enough about the front desk staff. Our luggage had been lost by the airline and they were extremely helpful and accommodating to our needs. They allowed us to store our luggage for almost a whole day and allowed us to wait in there waiting area and helped us with phone calls even after we had checked out.

Our favourite place to stay in Paris.

We stay at the Odessa as long as we can get a good rate because it meets all our needs and it is very close (5 min walk)to Gare Montparnasse, where we catch a train south. Air France bus to Charles de Gaulle airport is regular from the station. Thus perfectly located. Very nice neighbourhood. Big, clean rooms. Last time we were in Room 30 and it had a double and two single beds. Big bathtub in a large bathroom which is almost unheard of in two star hotels. Very clean and double glazed windows mean quiet at night. Farmers market on the street in morning. Cafe at the front of the hotel is a great place to watch Paris folks go by. This is where Parisians live, and not as touristic. Lots of little theatres around and a lot of inexpensive restaurants of various ethnic backgrounds. Street in front has three or four Brittany Creperies which are a nice light meal the night before flying. We love it there. A bargain at the price.

Short stay in Paris

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel. We had a lovely balcony overlooking a lively, but not too noisy, Parisian street. Room decor was modern. Nice large bathroom. Down side: no in-room kettle or coffee-maker. However, there are many cafes, including some really good creperies, in the neighbourhood. Convenient location - near 2 Metro stations (Montparnasse-Bienvenue & Edgar Quinet).

Ok for the money

Nice theatre district but a 15 min cab ride to all sights depending on traffic. Noisy so ask for room not streetview but in back of bldg or away from elevator. Pretty clean except stains on bedspread. Mattress comfy. Tiny room spotty wifi. Excellent cafes and bakery right outside. Convenient mall and pharma rite down block. Their bkfst not worth money when crepe places and bakery with coffee rite outside. Luxembourg Park worth the 15 min walk from hotel.
