A week in Hotel Agenor, Paris

Our stay in a double queen bed room was good but I will not call it excellent given the rent. The room did not have much place to keep our luggage. We used the floors and then walking around was a bit constrained. There was only a small stool for sitting for two of us although a small chair with back-rest was provided upon request! The staffs were helpful. Location was really excellent close to both bus and metro lines. The room was clean. Overall, I will rate is as good.

I booked a room in August via Hotels.com. When I came to the hotel for my reservation on 22nd of October, the clerk told me that my reservation was cancelled because of a problem with my credit card. Surprisingly my friend booking was canceled because of his credit card problem. The same hotel, the same dates and two different credit card with the same problem:)) The hotel cancelled my booking in the last minute. Later I learned that the hotel cancelled my booking to sell my room to another customer for a higher price. It makes sense but too late for me:(( Additionally the clerk (a lady) one of the rudest person I have ever met. Don't stay for a night even for free.

Not what I have expected

The only good thing about this hotel is location. Other than that, everything else is not up to the stanard ... the bathroom and shower doors can't close properly, water kettle is not working, still no replacement after two service calls, receptiioist has limited English proficiency, etc. I won't recommend this place.

room carpet was very dirty , we were moved to a room with tile but so small that we had to jump over the bed to go to the bathroom.

Breakfast had no eggs, it was just bread , orange juice and cereal.

A lady in reception did not speak English, and she was very rude when I complained.

I booked through expedia a room for 2 adults and one child. When I got to the hotel, the men at the reception said that the room was only for two people, if I wanted my kid to stay I had to pay 14 More euros per night. I tried explaining that the reservation was for 3 people, but he started to get angry, treat me very bad, he was really mean. From that moment I didnt wanted to stay there. He yelled us that I had one hour to cancel, and that I would find another hotel.
When i got the survey about the hotel, i said that the pople were mean, and said all the problem. The people from the hotel replied, saying that it was all my fault, and I was the one who did bad, because I couldt cancell, and that they were goinfg to call expedia so they woukd charge me. And that they now i couldnt find another Hotel.
With this people, who would want to stay in that hotel???? Its not worth it.

The rooms are horrible, 1st room they gave us had the smell of cigarettes and had some ashes of cigarettes on the floor, it was very filthy, 2nd room is a bit more clean, BUT WE STILL DIDNT GET THE ROOM WE BOOKED FOR, they charged us extra 28 euros for taxes???? We asked for change of room and they promised in 2 days but still nothing saying that they are full on bookings obviusly lying when you see ppl coming in and asking for room and they get one, never and ever again on this hotel!!!

Lovely hotel close to Gaitè tube station, well connected to everywhere.
Gentle and lovely staff and cosy hotel.
I would improve a little bit the breakfast, however I had a great time here.

Fair price, in good location, lacking facilities.

We mostly liked the hotel. Fair price. Clean, great location and very quiet. Cons: small room, very small elevator and you might need it as there are 4 floors in the hotel and also very narrow staircase. We were travelling with a 9 months baby and had chosen the hotel as they advertised having a cot bed. Despite requesting a cot bed in advance, it was not available on arrival and our little one shared our bed for 2 nights. Only on 3rd night we had a cot bed. So, would not recommend this hotel for families with kids. Good for couples.

SHAMBOLIC HOTEL AND CUSTOMER SERVICE

The hotel does NOT provide family rooms even though they accepted a family room booking., the rooms are very small, uncomfortable and very hot. The stairs are very narrow and the lift couldn't hold more than 1 adult person. I was not impressed in the very slightest. My family were very tired and hungry and we decided to stay. Using the facilities in the room were very limited, the showers are very small. We reluctantly decided to stay a second night only as we had a very long day touring and meeting up with other families, having no time to arrange alternative accommodation. Couldn't get access to my room as the key did not work. It took nearly 45mins to gain entry into my room. The hotel were responsible on mishandling our request for a taxi to take us to the station. Eventually arrived home in the UK, later that evening to discovered I'd left my phone charger in the room. I called the hotel the following morning to explain. They confirmed they were in possession of my charger. I requested that they post it to me and I will give them my debit/credit card details to cover the cost of postage. They refused saying I will have to collect it. I then emailed them for clarity and ease of understanding, which they just again ignored my request. I sent further emails, they eventually responded, stating they do not give in to threats! 2 weeks later they are still in possession of my charger and have failed to acknowledge my emails. WOULD YOU BOOK THIS HOTEL?

Room occupancy issue

Booked a double bedroom for 2 adults and 1 child and my booking specified that we required 2 single beds,and 1 child bed,but on arrival,the room was tiny with only 2 single beds. Manager of the hotel explained that the booking went through as a double bed. He said the problem is Hotels.com sell rooms without checking how many people are in a room (occupancy).The manager finally got a mattress on a floor for my child,not ideal as the room was tiny,but tried to help. It took 2 hours to resolve ultimately. Hotel policy was non-refundable,so our options were limited. Disappointing stay.

The phone did not work, the shower curtain fell off, the hair dryer did not work and I called the clerk. He said it is not his job to fix it.
It was hot and noisy. The neighbor had party all night long. It is the worst hotel I ever stayed.

Disappointing 3 stars

Arrived late, around midnight, in the heat of summer, the room was stuffy with a slight smell of mold. No AC. One of the pillowcases had spots and a few hair, the bedsheets pulled taught but creased. A curly long black hair on the floor of the bathroom.

Having unpacked, it was a bit late to ask for a change. And I missed the usual question \"was everything OK\" when checking out.

A pity, a good and quiet location, but not up to 3 stars.

Great location. Very small room - especially for a couple plus a small child. Our room was on the 1st floor, but lift went to 2nd floor only so we had to carry the suitcase on very narrow staircase. Relatively good value for money.

Good value basic Parisian hotel

A typical Parisian hotel - nothing special, but comfortable and clean. No BBC or CNN available on the television; the only English channel was Al JAzeera, which has a good news coverage. A good steam iron was availble to iron shirts - a must for me when I'm travelling on business. Convenient to Gaite metro station and Montparnasse restaurants. I din't have it but the breakfast was basic and cheap. Shower only, no bath, no elevator to my knowledge. Overall it was good value and I would stay again, but not my first choice if I other hotels are available at a reasonable price.

I have made a booking via hotels.com on March 28th for 3 night stay between April 7th and April 10th for a price of 243 Euros for the entire stay. I have received a confirmation from hotels.com and i called the hotel and confirmed my reservation.

I arrived at Hotel Agenor and checked in late night on April 7th and the following happened

1. April 8th morning - I was informed that my credit card was declined and that they have booked me in to a new hotel down the street

2. They asked me to pay 120 Euros for the stay of April 7th (orignal rate was 78), when i asked why do i need to pay more, they said since the card was declined they cannot offer the original price. I said i want to stay here but the hotel said they do not have availability. I do not know how they can book the hotel once i have received a confirmation. I also think there was some kind of racism as the hotel conveniently booked me in to another hotel which was very bad and my family and i had a terrible paris trip.

Never book at this hotel.

I have then checked the reviews on several sites, this hotel has a habit of over booking and declining cards.

Nice location, quiet street

I stayed with my wife for 2 nights. Everything is too small and narrow. A disabled person can't reach any room. The elevator which is very narrow, (1 person only) does not stop on the first floor and I had to drag my suitcase up on the narrow winding stairs and to go in the very narrow room where you can hardly turn. It is very possible that you meet problems upon leaving and be charged extra. Some of the staff does not speak English at all.

2 days in Paris

The room is small but the bathroom is modern. The breakfast was minimal with no real protein other than yogourt. The coffee was excellent.
It is conveniently located, 2 minutes from the SW corner of Montparnasses Cemetary and about 7 mins from the metro and 10 mins to the RER station that takes you to the airport. The street is tiny so not on the city map, you need to know where it is located beforehand.

Great Place to Stay in Montparnasse District

As a semi-regular traveler to Paris, I have stayed at the Agenor on several occasions. Don't expect a lot of frills: the hotel is a modest, clean, comfortable, family-run business. The rooms are small, in European style, and well-kept. The staff is helpful and friendly (not all of them speak English, but most do). Breakfast is petit-dejeuner, simple bu but high-quality, especially the absolutely fresh baguettes delivered every morning. Good espresso, which is a must for me.

Located in the 14th Arrondissement, right next to the fabulous Montparnasse Cemetery, the hotel is in a lively neighborhood with a variety of excellent restaurants, but quite a distance away from the main tourist attractions: it's a 40-minute walk to the Eiffel Tower, about the same to the Louvre or Notre Dame.

Next time I'm in Paris, I'll stay there again.

Disappointing experience!

This hotel has some issues.
Pros: Good location,VERY tiny but decent room and bathroom.
Cons: Terrible Wi-Fi (only worked at the reception, we complained about that many times but they never fixed it). Breakfast is a joke (no fruit, ham, eggs, cheese). We had an irritating noise in the bathroom for over 4 nights… Finally, the last day we needed a taxi for the airport and one of the ladies at the lobby made us wait for about 45 minutes… Reason? She wanted us to take their own \"taxi service\" they have (“VIP Taxi”, that’s what they call it) so they could charge us a higher amount of money… When I wanted to take another local taxi because theirs did not arrive, she said: \"there are not taxis in the area, just wait...\". Hard to believe there are not taxis in Paris. This is a hotel for locals, they are not used to treat international tourists.

A good select for a short stay

We were in Paris for 3 days last week and the hotel was just right for the stay. Conveniently located to 2 metro stations, restaurants, a shopping mall and a supermarket, it made for a good choice. The stay accompanies breakfast which provided for a great start to the day. Would recommend the hotel - nothing fancy but perfect for a short stint.

Lucky choice at the last minute

For various reasons I was not sure I would be making this business trip until just 18 days beforehand. This was my first time with Expedia, and it was a winner. The price was at the low end for 3-star hotels. The location is a 10 minute walk from the Denfert-Rochereau metro & RER stop that is a direct ride, no transfers, from Charles de Gaulle airport. It's also about a 10-minute walk from Gare Montparnasse, and from the Observatory of Paris in the other direction. The hotel is on a small residential side street near Avenue du Maine & Rue Daguerre, both of which have many restaurants, bistros, brasseries, boulangeries, small grocery stores, and other shops. It's not a tourist area, it's a modestly upscale residential area. (But, it's a short walk plus a short metro ride to the tours areas.) Most of the other guests appeared to be French, so the locals seem to find it a good value also. Some of the desk staff have only a little English but I have a little French so that worked out OK. The room came equipped with a dorm refrigerator and there was free WiFi. My only slightly negative comment is that the room was tiny, but that's the norm in Europe.

Fine hotel in the middle of everything French.

We stayed for 9 nights, which is a long time for a single hotel stay. The staff was always polite and attentive. Clean up of our room was excellent and thorough - they picked up for us, but not in an intrusive way. We could tell that this is a family-run business. The level of professionalism was consistent throughout, even with the personal touches. Our room faced the street on the 3rd floor, and we could open our windows for fresh air and to capture the ambiance of the neighbourhood. At night, though, the outside noise dropped to almost nil, so sleeping the night through happened almost every night. We have recommended this hotel to our friends.

Hotel Room very good, clean bathroom with hot water. Hotel near to Gaite Metro station. Only drawback was the failure to provide the requested childs bed. Reminded at check in and again upon return to hotel at 7pm. A cot was eventually provided the next day. This issue aside the Hotel represents very good value.

A bit expensive for what it is

The room was small, but in acceptable condition - though the carpeting was on the old side (or, at least, smelled like it). The bathroom looked like it had been redone recently. The desk staff were nice enough, but the cleaners on one occasion did not close my door after cleaning the room - which could have resulted in possessions being stolen. Not only was this done with my door, I saw they had left the door ajar for multiple rooms. When I informed the desk staff, they did not seem alarmed and said they would close all the doors if I wanted. Their lack of alarm at the potential security issue was concerning.

Nous avons séjourné à l'hôtel Agenor dans le cadre d'une visite expresse à Paris pour assister à un concert, nous avons particulièrement apprécié la proximité de la gare Montparnasse qui nous a permis d'obtenir quelques heures de sommeil avant un train matinal. L'accueil était excellent, le personnel très agréable. Nous reviendrons pour un prochain concert!

L emplacement est tres bien située 200m station de metro , 400m gare Montparnasse. Pour sortir le soir bcp de théâtres autour ainsi que restaurant. Le seul bémol, très peu isoler,

Chambre en rez-de-chaussée côté rue alors que la réservation avait été faite longtemps à l’avance. Une des ampoules de lampes de chevet était cassée, une literie médiocre, une patère à serviettes dans la salle d’eau montée à l’envers et pour finir, un rideau de douche miteux qui vous colle à la peau. Sans compter que l’accueil n’avait aucun plan de métro à disposition. Bref, une bien piètre prestation pour ce montant.

- de très jolie chambres, le lit est vraiment confortable franchement rien a dire, la chambre est vraiment conforme au photo
Point négatif :
L’accueil , les paiements en chèques vacances ne sont pas acceptées c’est espèce ou carte alors que l’établissement est agréé pour enfin bon. La salle de bain la porte ne se ferme pas , la télécommande il manquait le cache des piles ,ascenseur bien trop petit vraiment petit. Très déçu de l’hôtel je déconseille fortement grosse déception

Séjour médiocre, car le Wifi ne fonctionne pas (ou très mal), et le personnel d'accueil n'a pas su me commander un taxi (!!) L'évacuation du lavabo était défficiente et l'eau ne s'écoulait que très lentement. Cela dit, la chambre n'était pas chère. Clairement un hôtel qui ne mérite plus ses 3 étoiles.

Hotel vetuste, pas d’eau chaude, seche cheveux en panne, lumiere cassée dans la chambre, odeurs persistante car humidité, chambre petite et tres sombre, bruyant, petit dej tres moyen (cereales dures etc.) etc.
Je crois que c’est le pire hotel dans lequel j’ai séjourné.
Il y a beaucoup mieux dans le quartier pour le meme prix.

A fuir

A fuir!! on me propose à mon arrivée, une chambre avec barreau aux fenêtre sur rue avec des travaux..puis une chambre au 1er. Là, kata!! Moquette dégueuelasse, pas de ménage fait, gros trou dans la moquette, salle de bain salle, non nétoyée, douche avec une demie-porte qui devrait coulisser et un rideau , le tout mal refait, fenêtre donnant sur les clims...et en prime la moquette trempée par la Clim. Le deuxième jour, ménage toujours pas fait malgré ma demande. Cet hôtel ne correspond pas du tout à un trois étoile!!!!!

Bien pour 1 ou 2 nuits max.

Climatisation en cours d’installation = vivement.
La chambre est basique mais pour court séjour c’est parfait. Hotel en retrait de l’axe principal donc pas de nuisance sonore.
Le petit déjeuner est à améliorer, pas de fruit, ni de lait froid ni de laitage ni fromage, choix confirure restreint pas de miel, viennoiseries moyennes, pas de pain frais.
Bon acceuil.
Très bien pour court séjour uniquement.

El hotel supuestamente tenía aire acondiciona pero no funcionaban, tuvimos que abrir la única ventana del cuarto pero el ruido por las mañanas de los camiones recolectores no deja descansar y la regadera es muy chica. No hay donde estacionar al menos que tengas suerte.

Bom hotel!

Ótima localização, perto de 3 estações com linhas diferentes, incluindo a que passa o Orlybus. Quarto confortável, limpo, muito bom. Elevador só cabe uma pessoa com mala por vez. Pontos negativos são a ausência de ar-condicionado (tivemos que dormir com a janela aberta nos dois últimos dias por conta do calor) e escadaria pra subir com mala grande.

No respetan las reservas

Habíamos realizado la reserva con seis meses de anticipación y nos la cancelaron sin dar aviso el día de nuestra llegada. El hotel estaba completo y tenía mucha demanda. Estábamos el día de la gran nevada de París, nosotros con un niño con 41° de fiebre, el hotel decía que había dado aviso a Hoteles.com y Hoteles.com no nos dio ningún tipo de respuesta, ni aviso ni solución ante nuestro reclamo, nos ofrecían una habitación de mayor costo a gran distancia. Conclusión nos alojamos en una habitación para tres personas (éramos 4) en este hotel porque dadas las circunstancias no podíamos hacer otra cosa. Fue una mala experiencia

　ホテルは、従業員の案内も親切で、また、ホテルのレンタル傘があり、雨だったので助かった。

Hotel de tient pas ses engagements en reservation

Lorsque je suis arrivé à l'hôtel, la receptionniste m'a annoncé qu'il avait annulé unilatéralement la reservation, sans prevenir Hotel.com, car ils ne disposaient pas de ma carte bancaire, ce qui est une raison bidon, car hotels.com ne communique jamais les numeros de carte bancaire de ses clients mais utilise des numéro de cartes virtuels. Par contre, ils pouvaient me céder une chambre, mais à un prix nettement plus élevé . Cela sent très fortement une utilisation abusive du site de reservation hotels.com pour amener des clients, mais leur facturer plus cher le service. Hotel à eviter donc.
