We booked amd paid for the hotel, and upon arrival were told that there is actually no available rooms, that there is a problem with the system. PLEASE REFUND MY MONEY ASAP

Great place to stay for a good deal. Felt very secure and safe. The staff is very friendly and spoke English. Rooms are small with a tight bathroom. Water was hot, but a little hard to get the right temperature. 5-10 min walk to 2 different metro stations. They will let you store luggage behind their desk while if you arrive early or stay late. Would stay again.

We have been to Paris few times & this is the worst experience so far.
Hotel room was dirty, door knob was broken, bathroom tub wasn’t shower proof so water was spraying all over.

Area not that great.

Basic room, a bit pricey

Good location on a street with plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars. I left before breakfast, so can only comment on the room which was small and basic. The bathroom was small too and the shower had a curtain, no glass screen, so a bit dated. Check-in was OK as was check out. A bit pricey for what you get, even for central Paris.

When you close the door of the room it is so difficult and noisy that you think easily that the wall will fall down, there is a hole on the screen cover, the ground: they put à lino on a very old wooden surface so it is very noisy, the walls are made of paper, very noisy, the shower is as the year 1950, very small and the plastic curtain stick on your body, the price: they put at the entrance 79 euros, maybe real price when I paid 128 euros, chercher l’erreur…cet hôtel mérite un large détour.

Walls are literally paper thin. Spent half the night listening to neighbours talking. Then woken early in the morning by someone walking around overhead! Bathroom too small, not ideal for bigger people. Check in staff was more focused on watching a football game than serving us.

Room was clean, but very small. Ideal if you just want to sleep and thats it. In fairness it is a very small hotel which is in a great street. Everything you need is close by, gets a little noisy outside about 11.00pm but thats Paris. Only two medium people fit in the lift, the bathroom is small and the TV is French only. But hey, if you want to stay in your room and watch TV then get a hotel with bigger rooms and pay extra. Bottom line it;s a budget hotel in a great location with small rooms.

Really comfortable - Big Bed, small room. 2 star hotel - is a 2 star hotel with a one person elevator that works. No air conditioning. French TV. Rue D'Gurre is listed as a small shopping street in Rick Steve's book. It lived up to it's name with food shops, bakeries, dress shops 2 grocery stores, wine, cheese, pate. Had several cafe's and 4 or 5 fruit stands. Ok place for a couple to stay. Too small of rooms for travelers with kids. Only 1 plug, so pay attention to charging. Staff was very nice and helpful. Skip the morning hotel breakfast and go to any of the bakeries. Yum. Get the 4 day museum pass and 5 day metro pass at tourist info at the airport. Take train B from Charles D'Guale airport to Denfort-Rochearu metro stop. About 5 short blocks to the hotel. Skip the car. Folks with luggage all around as this is a main connector stop. This metro connects with everything and will take you where you want to go. Catacombs right there by metro. Take the metro to Versailles with a 5 minute walk to the palace. Close to everything, far enough away from too much noise. Bars go quiet about 12:30. It was a good stay, surprisingly so. If you don't need much, (nice bed, French tv, good water pressure, 1 plug, elevator) you won't be disappointed.

Located in a wonderful neighborhood of shops and cafes. You can walk to the Eiffel Tower along the Seine to the Louvre, Norte dame, and back to Montparnasse easily, but public transportation is excellent! The staff was helpful!

Excellent hotel clean rooms with private bathroom, about two blocks from 2 major subway stations in either way, plenty of nice restaurants and mini markets within walking distance, the only downside is walking to the hotel at midnight it gets pretty lonely and creepy.

The hotel room was very confortable, and the hotel has an elevator wich is very nice for the luggage, is perfect to travel because is close to the train, metro and bus station, the room was clean and just the right size, the bathroom is very small but if you dont need luxury is perfect. Great location/price but paper thin walls

This hotel is budget-friendly and 8 minute walk to a major metro station (Defernt Rochereau). The only cons about this hotel is that the upper floors' Internet connection was very weak (lower levels it was very good); the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything in the corridors as well as the TV and toilet flushing occurring in nearby rooms. The staff were helpful and kind. They allowed me to check in several hours early as I had just come off a red eye flight. So overall, the price, service, staff, location, and Internet on lower floors of the hotel are great. The paper thin walls and also the lumpy beds were not so great.

A clean and comfortable place to rest your head.

You more often than not get what you pay for. This hotel is low cost and as such one should not have high expectations. The rooms are warm and comfortable with space to hang and store belongings. The shower/toilet rooms are poorly designed but functional if you are able bodied and of a relatively slender physique. Overall, it is a good hotel in a good neighbourhood with friendly staff but I assure you it is little more than a place to lay your head, at this price point (~50 Euros per night), one cannot expect more.

Comfy beds and good location

The Tipi Hotel was exactly what I was looking for, for the 3 night stay in Paris. The hotel had a typically sized Parisian room but had everything we needed for the few nights. The staff in the hotel were very nice and helpful. The hotel is in a great location for getting the Metro in town as well as having plenty of restaurants nearby. All in all the hotel was nice and if we are returning to Paris anytime soon, I will gladly book the hotel again.

The hotel is located close to a metro station (Denfert Rochereau), has lots of eating options down the street, including a McDonalds for those in a hurry. The staff was polite, and whole check in/out was without any fuss. No bad surprises either. CONS: The room was cramped, shower even more. But this was alright for my short stay, and the very reasonable price they charged.

Tipi Hotel is your average budget hotel. It worked fine for me as I was only there two nights and only slept and showered there. The rooms are extremely small and the shower was one of the smallest I've seen. It is also about 13 metro stops from the main train station and maybe 8-10 into the city. This was not a huge problem for me as a metro ticket is fairly cheap and I had no reason to go back to the room during the day. I would recommend this hotel for someone who is looking to do Paris on the cheap and isn't planning on spending much time in the room. It did the job for my couple days in Paris, but I would not have enjoyed staying here for a whole week.

Fantastic 'hood, outstanding service, OK facility

Rue Daguerre is a fantastic place, especially in the mornings when all the vendors are open. The street is a mix of typical Parisian cafes along with quaint shops and bars that take you back decades. The street's proximity to the Montparnasse train station brings lots of people and foods from northern France, and the mix with Paris is so much fun. The Tipi is adequate as a facility -- not bad at all -- and is a good value, but the staff is exceptional. In addition to being friendly, they do their best to make you happy, even when things go a little sideways (the battery in our door happened to run out on a rainy night but they did EVERYTHING to get us in our rooms as quickly as possible). The Tipi itself won't be the highlight of your trip but it is a comfortable enough place to stay in a great neighborhood to be worth the money they're asking.

Good location, needs some TLC

We expected a small room and tiny shower, though, some repairs are needed in this hotel. Our shower head would not stay in the bracket to hold it up, so you hand to always hold the shower head. (And in a tiny shower, that was even more awkward.) The staff was friendly enough, though not helpful with offering up info on the location or even hotel's own amenities. We didn't discover the \"rooftop\" terrace until our last night. (You access this from the ground floor - go into the back alley and you'll find stairs.) Overall, easy location for restaurants and close to the metro to get to all the tourist attractions. Good deal for the cost.

Highly Recommend if you are a first time Tourist

This place is perfect for the following reasons; 1) Politeness of hotel staff, (although the guy in the morning was making a bit too much noise while I was trying to enjoy breakfast) 2) Location - it is in a street that has only pedestrian traffic and lots of patisseries and fruit shops and bakeries 3) Room was very quiet and heated and clean. 4) Pillows were comfortable 5) View from window on the rear side was wonderful. Although I read some reviews about the noise of the lift (yes it was a bit noisy) I once I was asleep I didn't hear it. The cleaner in the morning was a bit noisy though because I was trying to sleep in until 12. If check-out is at 12 the hotel staff should be quiet until at least 12. I will book this again when I am in Paris.

A place to sleep

It is a quaint hotel with a small noisy elevator. If you go to bed early, some late comers may wake you up. Walls are thin so you can hear what is going on in the next room. People who work there were great and friendly. Spoke English well enough to communicate. There is great atmosphere on the street; pubs, bakeries, wine, little specialty shops and all the cheese, fish, and meats fresh that you could ever want! Metro station is 5 minute walk and train station about 15 minutes. We chose to not take the optional breakfast and just went on our own.

everything was great except the walls must be supper thin! and the plumbing made noise in my room from other rooms. other people talking, walls being hit, doors slaming, just too much noice from other guests at all hours. maybe just my room, dont know. (room 10) street was great, lots of restaurants, 2 subways stations mins away, left or right. one of them has the RER B that gets you straight to the airport.

Simple Hotel

My boyfriend and I, stayed at this hotel for 3 nights only. It was not difficult to find it as there's a train/tube station nearby (20 min walk). The staff are quite friendly I must say as everyone greets at all times. The only thing I didn't like was the fact the room was relatively small, was expecting a slightly bigger room, and one of the bed covers was dirty. Also no one explained to us that if we wanted to get our room cleaned, it would have to be before 12 and our door would have to be open as to indicate that we want it cleaned. We only find out the day before we were leaving. The same happened with breakfast there was no information on that, we had to ask. So if you decide to stay at this hotel, ask all important questions.

We stayed here for 9 nights and were very happy. The hotel staff were incredible and helped us way above and beyond! The location is good - 40 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower, plenty of restaurants and pastry shops, etc close by. Mainly a quiet street. The rooms are basic but for the price it's hardly an issue. I'd stay here again.

if you know the language a great place to stay...as long as you have a good sense of humour about their mini mini shower. if you do not know the language then pass. got 3 different sets of bad directions from the front desk....plus they could not open a bottle of wine as they had no opener .....are we in FRANCE? Front desk did not want to be helpful to those that did not speak the language and the INTERNET DOES NOT WORK NO MATTER WHAT THEY TELL YOU AT THE DESK!

tipi, clean and in a very convenient location

The hotel is clean and seemed well managed. The only thing I can think that it lacked was a safe and fridge. The location was very nice and the price very reasonable. Breakfast was great and the staff were very helpful. There are a few grocery stores around if you need more food and a wealth of restaurants. The metro is 3 or 4 blocks away but it isn't unreasonable. Our room seemed to have new furniture and was cute and up to date.

The hotel was under repairs so it should be better when finished. The comfort of the room was OK. No shades on the window (room 21), this was an inconvenience to get to sleep. There was a 1 inch gap at the bottom of the door, which meant you could hear all noises from outside your room. I could barely fit in the shower (I am 6.3 and 215 pounds).
The biggest disappointment was the speed of the Wifi. 90 kbps! unusable. I did need to work and it turned out to be impossible in the hotel.
Very friendly staff.

Tipi doesn't earn its two stars. The location is great, and it has a nice courtyard and lobby. However the room was a big disappointment. The sink didn't drain properly and leaked, the paint job was haphazard, and the general condition of the room suggested a lack of care and maintainence. While certainly affordable for the area, keep your expectations for comfort low.

Raccordement eau chaude inversée au niveau de la douche. Divers choses traine un peu partout pour accéder au chambres. Alarme incendie qui se déclenche 2 fois dans la nuit avec évacuation de la clientèle sans même un mot d'excuse. Je déconseille aux familles avec enfants.

Un hôtel avec un bon rapport qualité prix je trouve, pour moins de 100€ la nuit j'ai pu avoir une chambre propre avec un lit confortable dans Paris, ce qui est tout ce qu'il me fallait. Petit déjeuner avec tout le nécessaire aussi. Certes, les chambres sont petites et très peu insonorisées, mais ça ne m'a pas dérangé plus que ça, c'est ce à quoi je m'attendais.

Nous avons réserve une chambre 2 lits. Venius tard le soir ( 81 ans nous deux. Une lit , petite, petite chambre mansardée. Mon mari se blessé sa tête la nuit pour se leve et allaz au toilette. La TV ne marche pas( Foot France Belgique. Nous etions a paye 193 !!!! Euro

Propre, bonne literie.
Chambre petite, quelques petits travaux de maintenance seraient nécessaire ( plinthes décollées, rideaux décroché) mais rien de grave. Personnel disponible et sympathique.

Also ich persönlich fand die Hellhöhrigkeit nicht sooo schlimm, weil ich einfach Ohrstöpsel benutzt habe. Wir haben das Zimmer sehr sauber vorgefunden. Die Betten waren sehr bequem. Die Gegend war einfach wunderbar! Würden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen!

Je pense que j’étais à côté de l’endroit où les femmes de ménages entreposaient leur matériel car énormément de bruit de leur part des 8h, au point s’ouvrir ma porte pour comprendre…
Un hôtel et un Acceuil charmant, propre mais je n’y retournerai pas car je n’ai pas dormi de la nuit…

The shower was really bad, basically not working. The room is very small and noises from other rooms can be heard as there is no insulation whatsoever. Breakfast is below average. The sheets of the bed were stained

A éviter en famille !

Hôtel bien placé mais à éviter en famille à part si cela ne vous dérange pas d’entendre les étreintes des voisins, le bruit des travaux à 8h00 ou des douches.

Les chambres sont petites mais confortables.

L'accueil est bon (jeune homme) hormis la fille qui est désastreuse avec le non respect des règles d'hygiènes, impolitesse, insulte.

Bref, l'hôtel est mal mais une dame a détruit notre séjour.

Relación calidad/precio immejorable
por los precios que hay en Paris. Habitación confortable con una cama grande y baño correcto. Por poner una pega, solo había un enchufe en la habitación. No es céntrico pero está a unos 20min en metro de todas las atracciones turísticas. Está a 5 min de las catacumbas y la boca de metro. Además está en una calle animada con muchos restaurantes.

Bien sauf l'isolement phonique

Hotel propre et bien situé, avec un personnel accueillant et un petit déjeuner copieux et varié. Les cloisons de notre chambre étaient en revanche vraiment trop peu épaisses. Notre voisin était pourtant discret mais nous l'avons entendu faire sa toilette !!

je n'ai pas eu de chance, ma chambre était au 4ème étage sous les toits. Avec le temps sur Paris (canicule) durant mon séjour, nous avons je pense tous souffert. Je souligne toutefois qu'un ventilateur était à notre disposition dans la chambre. Je l'ai apprécié.

Emplacement bien, hôtel bruyant !

L'emplacement de cet hôtel est parfait. 5mn à pied de la gare, du Métro, pleins de restaurants aux alentours et de petites supérettes. Par contre l'hôtel est extrêmement bruyant, on entends le voisin d'à côté lorsqu'il est au téléphone. On entends les chasses d'eau du dessus et les gens qui marchent en continue. Niveau propreté déçu car nous avions des fourmis dans notre salle de bain... Une seule prise électrique dans la chambre, donc impossible de charger 2 téléphones en même temps, dommage pour une chambre double. La personne a l'accueil est souriant et aimable. GROS Gros bémol pour les femmes de ménages qui font les chambres à 8h30 et qui parlent comme si elles étaient seules au monde !! Aucun respect pour les gens occupant leur chambre et qui dorment encore à cette heure là. Pour résumé : si c'est l'emplacement et la praticite des transports est ce dont vous avez besoin allez y les yeux fermé, par contre si vous voulez un minimum de repos et de propreté passer votre chemin.
