Nice hotel in great location.

A small but comfortable room in a conveniently situated hotel, near a Metro station and with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Our room was at the back of the hotel, so nice and quiet. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Would happily stay here again.

Great budget option in a convenient, safe location in Paris. Close to metro, train and bus stops. Not super touristic yet full of bars and restaurants around. Aircon in our room was a blessing. Small room, but sufficient for Paris standards. Very clean!

Paris tends to cost a lot, wherever you go. With Hotel Transcontinental, you get a pretty good package deal.
The shower ended up being slightly bigger than I expected. The complimentary breakfast was rather enjoyable, albeit kind of simple (so grab that yogurt).
The customer service is top notch. The area is located near a great pizza place and a nice grocery store. If you stay here, you won't regret it.

The Transcontinental is a quaint hotel and is in a relatively quiet area which suited us perfectly. The breakfasts are excellent. The only real downside is the size (tiny) and age (old) of the lift.

Stay was brilliant, very clean and quiet hotel, swift check-in and check-out. Very well located a few minutes away from the Metro with a bus stop literally outside the hotel and restaurants close by.
Breakfast was ok, could have been a bit better though with freshly cooked items.

This hotel is in a completely pleasant, safe, walkable, primarily residential neighborhood. There are lots of dining, bar, & food resources - like neighborhood bistros open late and Sunday/Monday. My room faced the main street that was busy during the day but very quiet at night for excellent sleeping!

Short, flat walks to 2 Metro stops.

The staff is consistently friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, I speak only English. Their English is excellent.

Great Hotel and Location!

A great hotel in the heart of Paris. You are about a 10 minute walk from most major Metro lines, and the rooms are tiny, but well appointed, with comfy beds and excellent WiFi. The breakfast was quite delightful as well. Highly recommended.

This hotel was the final stay for us on our European trip, and wasn't the worst place we stayed. Rooms when you first walk in have a musty smell, but could be due to how old the hotel rooms were (some stains on the carpet, and blankets have seen better days, otherwise okay). Was nice to have the balcony door open at night for a nice breeze. Hotel is located in a good location 10 minutes from the Catacombes and 10 minutes from a main train station which can connect you anywhere - we used it to go to Disneyland. Breakfast wasn't great, it was a couple of bread rolls, a croissant, and some jams, yoghurts and cold meats left out on a bench, we only had it one of the mornings we stayed there and ate elsewhere the others. Be warned, rooms are very small, so much so that the foot of the bed hits the opposite wall so my partner had to climb over the bed whenever he needed to go to the bathroom. There is a convenience store/market next door which is handy for snacks that don't require a fridge - this place doesn't have one. The pizza shop 2 doors down was good on nights we couldn't be bothered going out, so if you are tired, there is that close by.

This hotel room is so cute and cozy. The hotel let us put our bags in our rooms before check in time, which was great. The room doesn’t have thousands of bells and whistles but it’s clean, comfortable, and it has a nice view of outside. I would definitely stay here again.

Great value hotel for overnighting in Paris if coming into Montparnasse by train. 15min walk up the ave du Main from Stn. And 10 mins from the RER to CDG. Clean, comfortable air-conditioned room with modern en-suite. Tiny lift, but at least there’s a lift! 2 star hotel which felt like a 3 star. Very happy. Will use again next year.

The location is fantastic, the wifi signal was strong and the room + bathroom was comfortable (albeit small). The small cons were that the front desk barely spoke english (not a deal breaker) and the luggage storage was just a closet (didn't feel secure). All said, the experience was good as I showed up early and was able to store the luggage. I can't praise the location enough with numerous restaurants, cafes and well-connected transportation nearby. (Close to the metro station with a direct line to CDG.) The hotel itself is minimalistic but relatively clean, good wifi and has basic amenities.

What can I say? Was celebrating my 40th birthday in France and got to see all the wonderful sights and sounds. Was what made my experience better was my stay in the hotel. Friendly helpful staff. No hassle check-in/check-out.

I travel to Paris frequently and like to stay in different districts. The Transcontinental suited that and was wonderful value for money; clean and quiet - with a shower large enough to bend down and pick the soap up in, should you drop it, without having to open the shower door! In my experience, that's very unusual for Paris hotels that aren't 4* or 5* establishments. Breakfast was perfectly fine.

Convenient hotel location & I love Paris!

Overall, it was a comfortable stay. The only inconvenience was that I have to climb on a stool to reach the aircon on/off button (being 5' tall). I have to do this each time I get back to my room in the evening. The room and bathroom were clean. On one occasion I got back to the room and saw my windows overlooking the street, were wide open. Of course, the mosquitoes invited themselves in. The male receptionists were helpful and spoke fairly good English. This hotel is conveniently located; 5 minutes walk to Gaite Metro station,walking distance or one Metro stop to Gare Montparnasse, mid-size supermarket, and lots of restaurants and cafes.

Clean, Quiet, Basic Hotel

I stayed in this hotel for a week in April 2011. The rooms are small as one would expect in Paris but well maintained and cleaned. The air conditioning works well. The bathroom fixtures were very nice; the shower is small but worked well. I stayed in room 502, at the back of the hotel with windows on the neighborhood apartments and condos. It was very quiet with the windows open. Those facing the front of the hotel and the avenue du Maine will have noisier time with windows open, but colleagues told me their rooms facing the street were quiet (double-glazed windows). It is a pleasant neighborhood with a daily market and many restaurants along the avenue Daguerre just north of the hotel. Metro stations are a walk, however, the most convenient being Denfert-Rocherau, allowing you to walk along the pleasant avenue Daguerre. I recommend catching the 28 bus out the front door to Gare Montparnasse metro, and you can take it back to be dropped off just across the street from the hotel. This hotel is a very pleasant place to make your home base in Paris if the motive of your stay is not to have a large and luxurious hotel room.

Good for a 2-stars in Paris. Clean room, hot water easy to regulate. Typical Parisian breakfast with bread, pastries, dairy products, no grains and no fresh fruits. As usual in Paris, narrow spaces, short bed (I'm 1,75 metres tall, so I'm not a giant...) but in general, much better than average, for a 2 stars.

Bon accueil par le réceptionniste. Hôtel est très sécurisé ce qui est appréciable. La chambre était confortable et pas de bruit malgré que ma chambre donnait sur la rue. L équipe du petit déjeuner était très serviable et sympa.

Chambre disponible dès 13h (ça devient rare à Paris). C'est simple mais propre et en arrière cour, les chambres sont préservées des bruits de l'avenue.
Literie un peu molle et coin bureau peu pratique.
A 15 minutes à pied de la gare Montparnasse.

二度目の滞在です。
前回は7時すぎに食べたからか自分だけだったが、9時頃の朝食場所は満席で席がなかった。
一旦荷物を取りに部屋に戻り、チェックアウトを先にしてもタイミング悪く席はあかなかった。
時間がないからすぐに食べたいというと、フロントスタッフさんが対応してくれて中庭のテーブルに9:15に席をセットする段取りをしてくれた。
パンは食べる時間がなかったので持ち帰り、ドリンクだけその場で飲んだ。
対応してもらったことに感謝です。

Op loopafstand van station Montparnasse (en metro station Gaite op 100 meter). Ondanks wat verouderde accomodatie is het keurig schoon met redelijk ruime kamer voor weinig geld (Parijse begrippen). Redelijke en schone doucheruimte. Ontbijt niet erg uitgebreid maar alle basics (waaronder verse broodjes) zijn er.
Prima hotel en uitvalsbasis voor een of een paar nachten Parijs. Aanrader.

Personnel très sympathique, agréable. Petit déjeuner très convenable. Hotel très bien situé, proche métro, gare Montparnasse. Musée de la libération a proximité. Bar et restaurant a côté. Très bien. J ai pu laissé mes bagages gratuitement quelques heures après mon départ, le temps de visiter le musée de la libération. Je suis très content de cet hôtel et du personnel. Merci.

L'hôtel étant en 2 parties, ma chambre se trouvait de l'autre coté de la cour pavée à l'arrière du bâtiment principal. Au 2d étage et sans encenseur... pas très pratique lorsqu'on a une grosse valise à transporter.
