would not recommend this to anyone. no hot water reception does not help they are rude and say we can’t do anything. we missed our events because we couldn’t shower and leave LOL. loud, noisy, and dirty. never staying here again and will be submitting a complaint to hotel. regret staying here

Sooooo disappointed! I booked this hotel based on the photos and description. However, what I got was a hotel lobby that is under construction and tools were everywhere. There was a made shift staircase to the elevator. And everywhere smelled like paint!

After I went upstairs to see what the room looked like I said there's no way I can stay here. I was ingesting paint fumes.

I asked to get a refund I was told it was impossible as the \"manager\" was on vacation!

This place was unsafe and unsanitary and until the construction is complete, I would not recommend staying here! Especially with the poor customer service and false advertisement

Gem of a hotel

Delighted to find this gem of a hotel in a really cool, quirky neighbourhood. Hotel staff were so friendly that we felt like we were home from home. Signs of refurb were still there but rooms were comfortable and cool in the hot summer. Excellent location with fab bars, cafés and grocery stores nearby. A big thank you to the team for looking after my Uncle's glaucoma eyedrops in their fridge when not in use. We will be back and will be recommending.

The front dest receptionist Sarah was awesome. She helped me a lot and pointed to stores and areas in Paris amd around the hotel that fit my taste in quality. A huuuuuge thanks to Sarah and the whole staff of the hotel for your help and support. God bless you and fulfill your needs.

The property was under renovation, but my room was new and clean. The only off point that there was no refrigerator in the room.
The area is nice. Lots of choices for food, near public transportation ( bus and metro/subway). This is a good place to stay for a budget week or weekend in Paris. Not too touristy so you can get the sense of a local Parisian life.

Poor service and very very noisy.

We paid for an executive triple but it was not available the first night. We were told we could transfer the second night. We dropped our bags at 9am and went out when we returned at 12noon we were told to come back at 3pm when the room would be ready. We had to sit in reception for 3 hours. When we got the correct room it was noisy. The staff said they didn’t understand but later the cleaner informed up it was a water pump and the motor from the lift. The noise never stopped.

We stayed here for essentially 24 hours for La fete de la musique and the the man at the reception was extremely hospitable. Made sure we settled in well, gave us recommendations for food and was all round very present. It is also in a nice little area! Highly recommend the stay.

This is a basic accomodation, small but clean. The only real issue came on the second night when there was a heavy rain. The rain was getting into the building and shorting out the electrical panel repeatedly. Power was restored to everything except the air conditioning. We tried to sleep with the window open, but people on the street yelling and motorcycles, combined with humid conditions, resulted in a less than restful night. The electrical issue is highly concerning.

Stayed for one night. Staff extremely helpful and polite. Very comfortable room with a double bed, clean sheets and the mattress on the firm side, which is my favourite. The AC was working and that was v a relief for the 32 degrees outside.
Nice, practical bathroom. It didn’t have a mini fridge but that may be standard in European hotels. Fantastic area as for commuting. Bus 59 that will take you to RER B station in a few minutes. Another metro in 50 meters. Stores and cafes right around the corner. Strongly recommended hotel.

Little document safe in the room, shampoo and shower gel, hair dryer. Very happy with the Superior rooms for our work trip. Elevator is up a few steps, so not really accessible.

Fantastic location near Montparnasse train station. Metro station ‘Pernety’ on line 13 is 20meters away across the street and runs direct to many great destinations. Area has excellent shops, food markets, bakeries, cafes and restaurants. Would absolutely stay in area again to escape busier locations in heart of city.

The hotel is very well located, with many restaurants, supermarkets or bakeries around. It is also at 1min walk from a metro station.
The front desk man who checked us in was beyond amazing, and overall, all the staff were kind and very helpful.
The underground parking is at 2-3min walk from the hotel and very safe and secure.
I highly recommend this hotel even if it is true that you can hear a little the metro until 1am, but it did not bother us as it was around the same time that we would go to sleep.

The Lady receptionist was class, she couldnt do enough for you.
However, the carpark was half a mile away and once you have finished with the car park you have to take the Key back the hotel. Ok on a quiet day, very difficult during a busy period.
Lots of noise around the room from other rooms etc, oh and the metro. Otherwise a good location.

This hotel offers a good price and is excellent for budget travellers. It is right accross from the metro and about 2 miles from the Eiffel. The rooms are small but works for the price paid. The staff is very friendly and provides good service too. They offer breakfast for a price. There is complementary tea/coffee at the room. Please note in case you arrive way ahead of your check in time of 2 pm you will need to wait untill then cause they are unable to accomodate unless notified a day prior for a price. However they do allow you to leave the bags in the lobby area in case you arrive early and need to leave.

We had a great stay at the Le 55 Montparnasse hotel. The only reason I didn’t give it an excellent rating is because we had an unpleasant experience with the agent who checked us in, she was very rude and not at all helpful. However, the rest of the staff, particularly Rosie, were fantastic, very helpful, and sweet.
The rooms are super tiny, not much storage or counter space, but they are comfortable, clean and adequate for our stay.
Breakfast buffet had many choices and is continually updated during dining hours.
The hotel is centrally located in the 14th Arr. and within a few steps of the Pernety metro station on line 13. It is surrounded by many dining and shopping options and still quiet enough for a restful sleep, unless you have loud neighbors (we did).
Overall, this is a fantastic location and a great little hotel!

Misleading photos; rundown and basic

The photos are very misleading - this is a fairly rundown and cramped hotel, I would say closer to two star than three. Service was decent, and it’s right by the subway which is great. But I probably wouldn’t stay there again. We had to lift our sliding bathroom door to be able to close and open it, and there were no hooks for towels in the bathroom, or anywhere else to put them. Having said that, we didn’t pay much for our stay, so if you want a budget place and don’t have high expectations, this could be for you.

Staff are very friendly with good English, located right next to the metro station so is very easy to get anywhere! Room was very nice, bed was much more comfortable that I thought it would be! Was cleaned every day by the friendly hotel staff and I can say I would stay here again. The only negative was there is no room service to get food and we read that you’re not allowed to bring food in the hotel from other shops which I thought was quite wrong but other than that was very happy with the hotel, everything we needed for a 4 day break in Paris :)

I liked the location of the property because of proximity to shops stores restaurants, etc.

Its a small overpriced room, by the subway though. But not worth it. They tell you that theres free breakfast and then when you check out they charge you 11 Euros per person per day for a basic, toast and cereal breakfast, which is way to much.

Hotel staff was helpful in arranging shuttle to CDG for less than a taxi. Also printed my e tickets to two museums. Wake up calls were given on time. Breakfast is basic but convenient and sufficient with cereal, croissants, fruit, ham and cheese, yogurt. juice and coffee tea. Room is small but ok for my needs as a solo traveler. Good location for metro only 1/2 block and nearby restaurants. Feels safe and on Saturday sitting at nearby café customers were families with infants and small children so gave a nice feel to area. this is my third stay at this hotel. Very good value for the price. Elevator helpful since hotel has 4 floors..
Served all my basic needs .Would book it again. Pat

For location to the metro, you cannot fault this hotel m13 (Pernety) is on your doorstep. The images for the rooms are very misleading, we booked a triple room and felt it was extremely small. We were given two pillows and two cushions to share between the three of us, when requesting more we were told there were none, and we had two each, even I can do the math on this one?!?

The room could of done with a dust, as behind the tv was filthy, the stairs looked like they hadn’t been cleaned for a good couple of weeks. Given the ability to rate the hotel, it would have really been a two star property! The local bars and bistro’s are a little pricey so be prepared €per Coke Zero, coffee or soft drink of your choice. Walk 5 to 10 minutes in each direction and you can get this down to €3.50

I was a bit apprehensive about staying here because the reviews were so mixed, but I have to say that our 3 night stay was very pleasant! Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was convenient as it was a right next to the metro. We stayed in the standard double room with a queen bed and it was lovely. Bathroom was modern, bed was comfy, black out curtains, they had all the toiletries provided. However, they stated that the rooms are soundproof...but we could hear people walking past our room, customers entering their rooms. The floors looked a tad out of date, but apart from that it was a pleasant stay in Paris! Can’t wait to go back and I’ll be sure to book with them again.

The property was in an excellent location. Right across the street from the Pernety metro stop and various restaurants and shops. There is even a supermarket a few blocks from the hotel. The hotel was clean and modern. The room was bigger than I expected and had a window with a view of the street and shops. The staff was friendly, helpful and spoke English.

The front desk experience was very good, the room and its amenities were as expected. The hotel is located in a nice Montparnasse neighbourhood, with a metro station conveniently nearby. The breakfast room was cramped, and the breakfast menu could be improved, but I checked-in with low expectations, so I wasn't taken by surprise. Overall, if I ever need to spend another night in Paris between two flights, I would consider this hotel.

Well located and good cost-benefit hotel

The hotel provides a good service for its price. The location is very good, just a few meters from a subway station in a safe neighborhood with restaurants, pubs, and so on. The staff was friendly and the room and the bathroom look recently refurbished. The walls are thin, so it's possible to hear noises coming from the corridor and the other rooms during all the night. The bed clothes had some stains.

If we had planned on spending much time in the Montparnasses neighborhood this would have been perfect but we found ourselves on the other side of town most of the day....It was our first visit to Paris so we didn't know any better. The staff was very helpful in assisting with transportation and printing tickets for us.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at le 55 Montparnasse Hotel. We stayed for 9 nights and found the location to be perfect: less than a block away from the metro, wonderful cafes within a stones throw and on a darling street. We enjoyed the stores, bakeries and groceries nearby and felt like we were living more like the Parisians than just tourists. With the Paris Metro everything is so accessible and this location was ideal as we could still be in the city without feeling overwhelmed by long lines and tourist traps.
Our room was larger than we had anticipated and had more than enough space to spread out our two large suitcases and carry on bags. The A/C worked wonderfully, our room was quiet and always clean when we arrived back from our days exploring. The bathroom was a good size and the water pressure in the shower was quite nice. The hotel staff were always pleasant and helpful and even assisted us with a reasonably priced taxi back to CDG airport. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel. It is a great deal in a charming area and I would certainly stay here again on another trip to Paris.

55 Montparnasse Hotel offers great value for those visiting Paris who want a comfortable stay and good value. Located just a minute's walk from Pernety Metro station, the centre of tourist Paris is just a few stops away. (Champs Elysee takes about 8-10 mins)

The immediate locale of Montparnasse itself is brimming with vibrant local bars and restaurants and exudes the atmosphere of true Parisienne life. Drinking and dining out in the area is very reasonable with a wide choice of European and Asian cuisine.

We were happy with this hotel. Great location and a real local village feel. Very close to metro. Breakfast was reasonable. Only negative side was the cleaning ladies left there stuff everywhere in the morning. As the corridors are very narrow you had to step over there things everyday. Even blocked the lift door one day.

The hotel room was very dirty and the bed smelled bad. All night until the morning, a voice of screaming and talking of hotel receptionist who spoke with his friends did not allow me to sleep. When I protested, I was insulted with a very ugly and inappropriate behavior by the hotel receptionist, who was nervous and rude person. At midnight, several times, someone tried to open the door of my room that failed. And the next morning, after showering, I realized there were a lot of glass flashing in the towel, which caused a lot of injury and excessive bleeding in my body, but the reception of the hotel insulted me rather than apologize, and I changed my hotel, which was the worst hotel I had ever seen.

Noisy value hotel in a good location

Whilst the bed was comfy and the room quite nice the noise levels were unacceptable. Guests in rooms next to me sounded like they were in the same room, and there seemed to be no sound proofing as guests on other floors could be heard.

The staff was really friendly and helpful but the rooms are SUPER tiny, you can smell cigarettes everywhere even though it’s non-smoking and it would have been super nice to have a variety for breakfast or at least a little more to select from. The food was really yummy though. Overall it was an ok experience. It wasn’t the worst place but for the price I paid..it should have been a lot nicer/a better experience.

Not the best.

The hotel room had an awful design, not even close to what hotels.com has in its photo galleries. Plain white walls with scratched paint on them. Very small shower cabin where I kept knocking my elbow into the wall when having a shower and trying to wash my body. Constant noise from the street including people and air conditioning/machinery noise.

Good If Small Room

Me and my girlfriend enjoyed our stay at the Hotel. The staff was nice and the room was clean. The room was very small but suited our purposes. I would recommend the hotel just know what you are getting in terms of room size. Overall I would rate this as a plus hotel.

OK stay, clean room and bathroom

Overall a good location, very close to the metro and travelling was a breeze. Not 7 minute walk from Montparnasse station as stated. Maybe I am just useless with direction but took a taxi eventually. Night reception guy was very helpful and pleasant. Never had breakfast so cannot comment on this. Room was clean, carpet can be vacuumed more regularly, bathroom was clean. Would stay here again.

Our favourite hotel in Paris!

We have stayed here 7 times. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. The location in Pernety is lovely- close to the metro and in a lively, bustling area with shops and plenty of places to eat. We thought that our room needed a little coat of paint and the bits of mould in the bathroom should be attended to! But the bed was very comfortable and the lighting good. The BIG disappointment is that there is NO provision for making tea or coffee in the room - something all Britons Expect! Breakfast is rather expensive too but the boulangerie next door is excellent and now serves coffee too. A great little hotel.

2nd time staying good choice we like the neighborh

Last time we stayed was the fall of 2015. Happy the hotel was about the same. The bed was firmer than I remember. The metro is just across the street easy access to most attractions with a quick metro drive. We like to eat and drink in the neighborhood.
