We could not even check in but the hotel still charged us for the stay. Due to our delayed arrival in Paris, I booked this hotel online at 11:30pm on the same day to spend the night. Our family paid for the Uber ride to the hotel, only to find out the property receptionist wasn’t there to let us in. We could not even check in or get into the hotel. I called the after-hours phone number. Someone picked up and told us that the property manager could not be reached. After two hours waiting for Expedia to speak with the hotel management, we were told that we could not check-in after 10pm. The listing on Expedia let us book without any issues. My husband, I and our two young children, ended up having to walk around Paris at 1am to find other hotels to spend the night. This was an apartment, not a hotel. The ‘hotel’ name was misleading.

The junior suite is not a suite, it’s a tiny room with a mezzanine. The mezzanine (bed) can only be accessed by a steep ladder which will require the occupants to be young, fit and agile. The bathroom is tiny and not convenient, only skinny people will be able to use the shower which will not accommodate anyone wearing more than a L size. There is no room to place any big piece of luggage.

Not all facilites advertised were in the room and when provided were not clean

No smoke detectors. Bedroom in reclaimed roof area so exit via ladder and 2 flights of stairs in emergency.

The continuous noise behind the wall makes me hard to fall asleep. I searched around where the sound is from, and figured it out it might be some equipments/pipes of the building behind the wall of bathroom.

Please be mindful when booking if your unsure of negotiating step stairs, as this is the case if you are allocated the Johan room. The bed is located in the mezzanine level of this room.
The sofa bed is a tad worn - ok for sitting on but not so much to sleep in.
It would also mean a smaller living space to use the bathroom or kitchen if the sofa bed was used.

Overall quite a nice little hotel/apartment suite in central Paris. Reasonably clean and modern fittings throughout. Although the floors seemed to be purposely rustic/Mediterranean in design i.e. dusty :-) While the location is central Paris it is worth noting that its still a 25 min tube/bus journey to the major attractions near the river but the immediate locality has some lots nice shopping and eateries. While we had a 2 bed apartment for a family of five it was a very small 2 bed apartment with the second bedroom stuck up a loft with a precarious ladder. Would have preferred a more comfortable room for 5 but nonetheless the staff were nice/friendly and cleaning was done daily to a good standard.

Although not having carpeted flooring, the staff were understanding as my daughter lost her passport along with the keys. Be sure to not lose your key though! It takes circa 30min to get someone to open your door, and there’s not always someone at the reception!

Very Disapointing!

After flying in from airport, our Uber dropped us off at front wall and gate. We repeatedly pushed button with no one replying. This was at 11:30 am. We knocked and tried calling the phone number on our reservation that told us it was not in service. After 20-30 mins. someone walked out the gate and we were able to get into the outdoor space. Saw what looked like a shed which was the office. We checked in and left bags. Our reservation said we could get our room at 3. The office person said not until 5. We were able to get the code for the gate at least so we could leave and go about our day in Paris. Came back around 9pm and were able to get key for room and get unpacked and showered. Had a very early flight the next morning and left at 05:30. No one in shed/office to check out with and give key, so we just left key in room. In addition, this area of Paris was not near as nice as where we had stayed earlier in the month, and yet the price for what we got was too high. We ended up taking an Uber to go back to another central part of the city where we had previously stayed. Very disappointing!!

Okay hotel very small room as you would expect

Close to Montparnasse Station about 10 minutes walk to metro stop Gaite. The next Street Draguere has many shops. The room was on the second floor and no elevator. The room was very small but that is Paris so was not unexpected. Good area to stay in, airconditioning was good though when we arrived the management tried to put us into an unairconditioned room

Deluxe Suite - quiet and spacious!

Wanted a place to stay that had a bigger open area for a few friends that we're coming round so we could sit and relax rather than a hotel room that is notoriously small in Paris.

Upon arrival, the hotel staff greeted me at the gates (they spoke fluent English) and after a quick check-in process showed me to the apartment, followed by a quick run through of what the apartment contained and how to use anything.

The Deluxe Suite had a rather large open area, 2 couches and a separate table and chairs for dining.

The bathroom contained not only a shower but also a sauna and jacuzzi.

The apartment is located off the main road and is gated so there's a feeling of extra security.

Clean and reasonably priced hotel and suites.

We enjoyed our stay. Our room had character with a very steep narrow ladder/stairs to a loft. No extra space, especially in the wc, but it was fine for us. Could have used a fan for the excess condensation from the shower!

The place in itself is ok, the area great. But the management there is terrible. I booked 2 breakfasts when I checked-in for 8.00am with the receptionist. The day after, they never came... I called them up and the call is redirected to a call center to someone who is not in the premises... Breakfast came finally one hour and a half after... Good thing I was not coming for business...
Also, when we chekced_in, the receptionist assured us that sheets and blankets where in the room for the bed-couch. When we came back to the room after dinner, we found out that there was no blanket... And the reception closes at 22.00... Impossible to reach them to ask for one...
I think future guests should know about it.

A great base for exploring Paris with a young family. The apartment is in a lovely quiet area with lots of local amenities: restaurants, cafes and supermarkets. It's within walking distance of Notre Dame and Luxembourg Gardens.

A rubbish dumpster hotel stay away

I have booked this rubbish hotel for 5 days but the surprise was when I came to the hotel. Never be fooled by the pictures on their website it is totally 180 degrees deferent. When we saw that we are practically be living in a dumpster we decided to check in to a another hotel lucky we found a real 5 star hotel.
Please stay away from this hotel. It is not even worth for 1 hour not a full night.

Pleasant Stay in Paris

We were a family group of four adults and three children. We arrived early but were accomodated in one apartment until the second was ready. We used nearby shops to stock the small but efficient kitchen. Enjoyed walking through the neighbourhood to the local Metro to tour Paris. Although the neighbourhood was safe, security was evident with password protected outer gates to the courtyard and again to the building itself with a key to your room. Our rooms were clean and well cared for. We did not take advantage of the generous offer of a guided tour of Paris. The staff was polite and helpful. In fact, we had looked at booking a large taxi to the airport online at 90 euros but the staff got us one on the morning we left for 75 euros. There is a well stocked bar fridge in case you forget something, milk in our case one morning. All in all we enjoyed our visit to Paris and Helzear is one of the reasons. No worries about our sleeping. Thank you Helzear. We would highly recommend Helzear to anyone who wants to stay in a quiet yet convenient location.

Charming secret home in Paris

Overall wonderful experience, staff very courteous and professional and attentive to needs of the customer. Organized place, clean, just like a tiny house with furniture, television, wi-fi, and kitchen for cooking (includes dishes soap), large bathroom (includes towels). Comfortable beds. Loft was fun for the kids. Cute, secure and private.

Nice - but need improvements

First the good things. The staff were extremely courteous, professional and polite. They were always ready to help. The apartment had enough space compared to Paris hotels - so that was great. The location was fantastic, with the metro and RER so close by, and lovely restaurants and French market places just about a minute away! I loved the design of the bedroom.
Now - the negatives: the condition of the room is not four star. While it's very quaint from the outside, the carpets on the stairs are very run down. You walk into the apartment - and there are stains from ages ago. This is NOT the fault of the cleaning staff (who do a great job, by the way) - the floors just need a revamp. The shower cubicle had a door that had a leak. The water thus leaked onto the floor and to that of the adjoining living area! And, the walls are very thin. This can be extremely annoying - as you can hear EVERYTHING happening in the next room. Turning on the TV might help - but obviously that's not a great solution.

We had a very good stay at Helzear. Wonderful neighborhood, perfect location!
Team very nice and warm. Beds very comfortable.
However, we had a few issues: the wifi was not working well and it was impossible to use it properly. And we had no hot water the first morning. It was apparently a problem in the whole building, but nobody warned us. No possible shower...

First time staying at an apartment in Paris, and was a wonderful experience.
The apartment is close to local supermarkets, the metro and buses. The location, is in a good area with local helpful people, if your french is not good.
Would definately recommend to friends and family, and definitely will stay here again.
Only down fall is the bathroom is connected to the main bedroom.

Definitely not recommended!

The apartment looked nothing like what was shown in the pics of Hotels.com and was tiny even by European standards. They gave us a two bedroom apartment with one of the bedrooms in an attic with a very steep wooden staircase, all this despite knowing that we had 2 small kids with us. How this place is rated 4 star is beyond me! Also they gave us only one set of keys saying that if you got back after 10 without keys no one would be there to open the door, which is absurd. The experience was not a good one at all.

Small, but very nice

Rather small, but nevertheless a great place. The nearby market street has everything, and the room itself is extremely clean and modern. The beds were very comfortable (one bed and one sofa bed, but the sofa bed was every-bit as comfortable as an actual bed that I hated folding it). The wifi is fast, and the guy who works there is very kind and extremely funny. If you want to enjoy good food and a comfortable stay, this is a great place. The only drawbacks would be that it is small, and that the table is even smaller. I would still stay there again.

The hotel staff were very efficient and friendly. The apartment was disappointing in its size, lack of lighting and lack of ventilation. The main bedroom was just like a box with no windows and very warm. We were 3 people so needed the sofa bed in the lounge which was fine but the bathroom could only be reached through the bedroom. Breakfast could be purchased for 5 Euros each and was excellent. Just a bit more attention to detail would have made all the difference.

I had replaced this room with another room in their own hotel at Champs Elysees location. Room(small) was really clean and its a prime location. Just few minutes to Champs Elysees avenue.

Fantastic.

Recently returned from a 3 night stay at the Hezlear apartments and loved it. We we're travelling as a family of 4 with 2 young children and the apartment really suited our needs, much preferred this to a hotel environment.
There was plenty of space and the facilities were more than adequate. The staff were on hand for any queries and very friendly/helpful.
The neighbourhood is quiet but with plenty of eateries on your doorstop if you want to fine close by.
Would definitely look to stay here again if travelling to Paris and will recommend to others visiting.

Very nice experience overall. 1 bdrm apartment was a bit cramped but just fine for our 3 day stay (2 adults/2 kids). Location is great, right next to fresh food markets on Rue Daguerre and easy access to metro. Staff was very friendly. Good high speed wifi.

The room was on the ground floor which was good because there are no elevators. No airconditioning but we requested and got a fan. The grocery store close by not so good, but there are other grocery stores about 5-7 mins away much better and also some grocery stores and delightful pastry shops in the next few streets. 10 minute walk to Montparnasse train station, nearer station stop is Gaite. Nice quiet surroundings and very friendly helpful english speaking staff make this hotel stay comfortable.

Hobbit hole?

For this price I should be able to stand up in my hotel room. Please note there is no elevator in this hotel, so if you have to walk up 3 steep flights to get to a room where you had to bend down to comb your hair in the mirror. Most of the room was like this. The a/c only cooled one room and the tv in the bedroom didn't work. Definitely not a good experience.

Just Like Living in Paris!

This Apartment Hotel is in a lovely part of South Paris, where real Parisians live. It's easy to reach from the Gare du Nord - just five stops on the RER B or a 30/40 minute bus ride across Paris on the 38. It's near a wonderful street - Rue Daguerre - with excellent boulangeries, fruit/veg, fish and meat stores, as well as restaurants. The hotel itself was good. Our one bed apartment was just big enough for two adults. The bedroom was small with no room for a cupboard but clothes could be hung in a wardrobe in the kitchen/lounge area. The latter was equipped adequately to eat breakfast and for easy or snack meals, sitting at a breakfast bar. The staff were top notch - always helpful. We loved the area and found it very convenient to get into the centre within about 30 minutes.

This apartment is perfect for a city break - small but great use of space and all the facilities you need. It was very clean, comfortable and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were 2 adults and 3 children (aged between 6 and 12) and were very pleased with the accomodation and all round experience. Very easy to get to Metro and explore Paris. Would definietly recommend.

Best way to stay in Paris

It was about 8 mins walk from the station but you can choose 4 different stations which can be handy if you are on the different line to go in and out. There are a local market nearby so you can get a fresh bread, fruits and veg daily and make a nice breakfast in a room. (if you want you can even cook lunch or dinner of course!) Also there are some cafes and restaurants nearby. I would recommend this apartment to anyone. It is much better than being squeezed in a tiny hotel room.

Affordable hotel in a nice area close to sights

Had a nice room with enough room for a family of 4. The hotel is close to several metro stops, making it very easy to get around Paris. We used line B from the airport and took it down to the Renfert-Rochereau stop. From there, it is any easy 5-10 min walk to the hotel. There are a lot of restaurants and cafes in the area, so finding something good to eat was never a problem. There is a grocery store close by as well to buy some food and drinks for the room. The hotel staff was very kind and spoke English very well. The hotel staff are there from 8am to 11pm, so if you need someone after hours I'm not sure what you do, but we didn't run into any issues.

This apartment was great. Two pullout couches for our four kids and a separate bedroom for us. Laundromat right around the corner, <10 minutes to the subway and there is a charming neighborhood a few blocks away with streetside cafes and markets. Highly recommend this place.

The apartment was located near restaurants, bakery, café and pharmacy. The metro is just 7 min walk and it was not a problem for us. After all, if you are in France and you are going to walk. We will walk to Monoprix Supermarket and made our breakfast at the apt. The staff was awesome. Always willing to help but be aware, they work from 8 am to 11 pm. Nobody is available after those hrs. Special thanks to Joan. She went out of her way to help us. I'll definitely go back but not in the summer since I didn't see any air conditioning at the apt. I might be wrong about AC.

The location of this hotel is close to metro, but not close to any attractions. The room is good size, with small kitchen, quite clean. However the wifi is so slow you can barely get connection, not even check email.

Entspricht überhaupt nicht der Darstellung auf Expedia. Zimmer sind schmutzig, die Treppen extrem eng und gefährlich. Toilette winzig, keine Parkmöglichkeiten wie angegeben. Insgesamt sehr enttäuschend und nicht empfehlenswert.

Luce bonito, tiene personalidad pero las escaleras lucen descuidadas, no hay ascensor para un segundo piso con valija. El wifi solo funciona en el salon, en el baño y la habitacion no hay cobertura. En la habitacion en el atico, las vigas impiden aprovechar el espacio.
Sofa viejo y sillas con huecos en los soportes.
Quizas buena idea para una pareja joven pero no merece 4 estrellas para ir de negocios

Wir haben einen normale Suite gebucht, aber das war keinen Suite sondern einen Sehr schlechte Dachgeschoss Wohnung in sehr Alte Gebäude und jeder Seite ( Schlafzimmer, Küche, Badezimmer usw….👎) musste immer bogen sonst kopf an Dach getroffen ……Aufpassen kein Suite!
Die Einzige Vorteil hat nur einen Parkplatz pro Tag 25€. Unsere Paris Besuch war spontan zwischen unsere Urlaub und unterwegs gebucht, sonst hatte nicht bei ankommen akzeptiert!

Das Preis war nicht wert, da keinen normale Suite gewesen wenn mann sitzen duschen muss oder von Bett aufstehen, krabbeln soll!!!!

Superbe hôtel et accueil parfait

Notre séjour sur Paris à été parfait et en partie grâce à cet hôtel. Accueil plus que parfait, le logement est très bien adapté pour les familles comme les voyages professionnels. Nous recommandons cet hôtel à 100 %. Hôtel calme idéalement situé près de la gare Montparmasse et des stations de métro. Hôtel qui nous fait sentir comme à la maison. Un très grand merci pour tout. Nous reviendrons dans cet hôtel.

Séjour agréable comme à chaque fois, le personnel est très très sympathique et serviable ... Nous avions une suite sous les toits avec baignoire, j'aurais préféré une douche ou au moins une vitre de baignoire, un peu plus de lumière dans la chambre et des miroirs plus pratiques. Sinon les lits sont confortables et l'emplacement est parfait.

Navrant pour un 4 étoiles sur Paris !

Un séjour plus que médiocre au niveau de la gestion des arrivées, relation client. Hormis la qualité des espaces et le confort des chambres, le reste ne suit pas pour un 4 étoiles (et pour le prix qui en découle également). Pas de service de conciergerie, un accueil soit disant jusqu’à 22h30 (une honte, j’ai été appelé plusieurs fois par la personne en charge de l’accueil “tardif” alors que j’étais au travail sur paris vers 20h30-21h pour me dire qu’elle ne serait là que jusqu’à 22h, pas plus pas moins), un service de petit déjeuner fantôme ( avec comme petit plus, la remise en cause de mes propos par la personne en charge de la e-reputation par la suite ! Apparement j’aurais dit non au petit déjeuner de vive voix à la personne à l’accueil… ), une alarme qui retentit au beau milieu de la nuit,… un ensemble de facteurs qui font que je déconseille fortement la “maison Helzear”. Lorsqu’on se positionne sur un standing et un accueil irréprochable en vitrine sur internet, il faut que le reste suive. La clairement non !
