Great location near Lux Gardens and Boul Mich, restaurants, cafes.
Helpful attentive staff. Clean, a bit “faded”.
But the big downside is: no soundproofing!
Very thin walls. Stayed three nights - had to change rooms after one night of listening to neighbor’s all night movies on TV. Dialog and music. They called her to turn it down at 1 AM per our request. Second room was not much better, though it seemed newer. Guy on his phone loudly till after midnight. Again, called the desk and they came up to knock on his door to ask him to be quieter. It worked somewhat. We kept that room when told any other room would be much smaller. Hotel staff was sympathetic but obviously can’t control the caliber of their clientele - and those guests’ behavior was rude!
Quieter from that room the third night, but slamming doors till after midnight from two other rooms on the floor with a child going back snd forth. So, we were not satisfied with comfort since we got no rest. Hard enough trying to re recover from jet lag! Disappointed - won’t stay there again. Till they soundproof their walls!

We have stayed at Trianon consistently for four years. The service, location, and staff are excellent. Unfortunately, the newly installed elevator was out of service for most of our 10-day stay. In addition, the ser ice elevator was out of service many days and we had to walk up 6 flights to our room.

Overpriced, mismanaged hotel — and Expedia offers no support even during a health-related crisis

Our 4-night stay at this hotel was a complete disappointment — and Expedia’s failure to step up when it mattered most made everything worse.

1. Hotel: False advertising and no onsite management
The elevator was out of service the entire time, despite being listed as a key amenity. This created serious problems for a guest with mobility issues and knee problems. Staff were powerless to offer help and unable to contact anyone in management — which was essentially non-existent throughout our stay. One receptionist, in a stunning show of arrogance and incompetence, told us “the elevator isn’t broken — a technician is coming to fix it.” It never worked once.

Rooms were stuffy and poorly ventilated, and the air conditioning unit was badly placed — blowing directly onto the bed. We had to request a room change due to health concerns related to the carpeting, which the staff struggled to communicate clearly, at first suggesting the same room would somehow be “modified.”

Breakfast felt like a school cafeteria — overcrowded, with far too few tables and no system for checking in. Instead, staff disrupted guests mid-meal asking for room numbers — awkward and unprofessional.

2. Expedia: Zero empathy, zero protection
We paid over $300 CAD per night, only to see the same room and dates drop to $16 CAD within 12 hours on Expedia. When we contacted customer support, they showed no willingness

Hotel Trianon doesn't deserve a 4 star - 2 stars at best. The front desk staff were unfriendly, ill-mannered, and not very helpful. Not even when I walked in with a cheery Bonjour. One of reasons we chose this hotel is because it was advertised as the rooms having A/C. This was not the case during our extremely hot summer stay recently. One of our rooms never had a working A/C unit and we had a very temperamental unit in another, where it only worked sometimes. We reported the problem, and they did nothing, not even attempting to offer a room change. Another huge problem is that the elevator only worked or rare occasion during our entire stay. It was dreadful, to say the least. Also, the tea reception hour is a joke. If you didn't arrive within the first 15 minutes, everything was gone. So much disappointment. We won't be staying here again.

Very convenient location to explore old Paris and on metro line to Roland Garros, main reason I chose it. I usually stay at 4* hotels. Would class this as 3*. Decor dated, bedrooms need refresh and it isnt usual in 4* to permanently store hoover & cleaning supplies in full view on main stairs. Was already in shower before bed when I found out bodywash container was empty & no shampoo provided. This is standard for 4*. Had to get out of shower already wet to call Reception for bodywash & shampoo. What followed was a Fawlty Towers style sketch of Reception dropping off bodywash (in refill pouch that dont stand up), leaving before I could ask where the shampoo was, them returning with shampoo, me saying I had no scissors to open either pouch and them instructing me to remove dispenser from the container fastened to the shower wall to use it to pierce the pouches open. They then spent 10 minutes in bathroom trying to dismantle the on-wall container to refill. All this time I was still soaked & asked them to carry on sorting out next day as it was gone 10pm & I needed to finish shower & go to sleep as leaving very early next day. After finishing shower, discovered hotel hairdryer didnt work and had to request replacement & wait for that to be brought. Gave me 1 with tiny cable meaning I couldnt be anywhere near a mirror while drying my hair. All of this added an hour to my shower time and curtailed my sleep on a very busy day. Great base but definitely not a 4*. Wouldnt stay again

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved the area. Staff was very friendly but The hotel it’s self is dated, dark colors make it feel small and older, a door that opens the opposite way which makes getting in and out with luggage a struggle and a small corner shaped bathroom with you paper behind you.

I was ready to move when our stay was up…

I do like the Latin Quarter, had great dining, metro and stores near!

The hotel was very traditional, and quite small in places. Our room had a rather run down balcony and it was tiny but the view was brilliant. Sadly after a long day out visiting Versailles we came back and our room hadn’t been serviced, we asked at reception and went out while this was corrected but when you are tired and needing a shower, it was rather inconvenient. Otherwise I can recommend this hotel especially if you like quaint.

Very nice hotel. Unfortunately the main elevator was out of service the week we were there, this meant guests and hotel staff used the old elevator. Only one person at a time could use this. Occasionally someone on an upper floor did not close the door, so NO ONE could use the elevator until a staff member ran up to the 6th or 7th floor to close the door. The staff was friendly and accommodating, The breakfast was well done.

Disappointing Stay Despite Friendly Staff – Mislea

I want to begin by acknowledging that the staff at this hotel were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.
Upon arrival, we were informed that the main elevator was out of service. Instead, we were directed to use a single-person lift that looked like it hadn’t been updated since the early 1900s—an inconvenience that set the tone for the rest of our experience.
We had booked a King Deluxe room, but what we found was far from what was described on the hotel's website. Although the listing claimed the hotel had been remodeled in 2022, our room told a very different story. The \"king bed\" was actually two twin beds pushed together, with one side much firmer than the other. This made for an incredibly uncomfortable and restless night’s sleep, every night of our stay. The wallpaper was wrinkled, stained, and dusty, and the room had an overall neglected feel. The bathroom was another letdown. Instead of the bathtub-shower combo shown in the listing photos, we had a cramped, uncomfortable shower. The toilet was positioned so close to the wall that using it required sitting at an angle. The lamps were crooked, and the recently painted balcony doors had been painted shut due to sloppily painted hinges. Breakfast was advertised as a continental spread, but what we received was minimal at best. Bread, cold cuts and boiled eggs with juice and coffee.
The property is not inexpensive, and the misleading advertising is unacceptable.

Very friendly and helpful reception. Excellent breakfast choice in the restaurant. Room service breakfast also very good, although if weather not good enough to eat out on the balcony consumption a little awkward. Room was comfortable with plenty of wardrobe space.
The only issue was with the lift. The main lift is out of action and the service lift could only hold one person at a time.

A well located hotel in the Latin Quarter with easy walk to Notre Dame. Walkable distance to the Louvre and Musee D'Orsay. Multiple good cafes and restaurants are close. A comfortable room and staff was very helpful and accomodating. Downside for our visit was that the elevator was out of service for the duration of our stay. Older folks will be challenged by stairs if on an upper floor. In addition, the service elevator went out of service during our visit, making the stairs the only option. I would check on the status of the elevator before booking again. Overall, a decent, well-located hotel with kind staff.

but we only heard that the lift was not working just before travelling. The remaining lift accommodated only one person. The bathroom had a yellow stain on the inside rim of the toilet seat that we had to clean with alcohol gel, because although it was reported, nobody came to clean it.

Loved our stay the the Trianon Rive Gauche! The breakfast was amazing. Our room was a good size. The location is perfect and the view from our 8th story room absolutely wonderful. Really the only complaint was the elevator and if I could give a 4.5 rating I would. We knew the main elevator was out for maintenance. There was a second elevator available (which I assume is the service elevator), but it was absolutely tiny and broke down the first day and afterward was limited to one person at a time. We just took the stairs and it worked out fine - even if by the 5th floor it was mocking our fitness levels. In spite of that, I would definitely stay there again! Even without the elevator.

The washroom was fully renovated and very nice. The bedroom part could use a refresh. While the area itself is relatively quiet, the walls between the rooms are paper thin. So, if there was someone in the next room, I could hear everything. They would not let me check in 2 hours early even though I had emailed them a couple of days beforehand. I would have been willing to pay a fee.

A hideaway gem

I chose this hotel because of the location where i wanted to visit having stayed at another area in the previous trip. The place was convenient to many metro stops and within walking distance to Notre Dame, Louvre, pantheon, St Chapelle, St Sulpice and even the Musee DÓrsay and Les Invalides. The staff were very professional, helpful and amazing. I love my room at the 7th floor and the breakfast was delicious.

We really enjoyed this hotel. Close by many of the sites we wanted to visit. Very close to Latin district which has many, many dining options. The only thing we did not enjoy is that the hotel is currently renovating (putting in a new elevator). The existing elevator is extremely tiny, very slow, and doesn't always work. We were on the 8th floor, and the elevator only goes to the 7th. We had to climb a very tiny spiral staircase which was difficult with our large luggage. But the room was adorable. Despite the elevator challenge, we would absolutely stay at this property again.

Complimentary coke and juice in the fridge and bottle of champagne and macarons in the room upon arrival. Received a bottle wine and candied nuts the second day. Not sure if always do or was just for the overpriced Olympics stay. Breakfast buffet is tasty and has good variety, but is expensive. Several inexpensive restaurants for breakfast across the street. Friendly, helpful staff. Short walks to Left Bank sites, metro and RER to airport. Unfortunately, stay was marred by the elevator breaking down for 4 days (was still broken when I left), so had to take the dingy, slow service elevator that only holds two people. Both elevators only go to 6th floor, so if your room is on the 7th you have to walk one flight. Was napping first day and had do not disturb sign out, but person delivering the wine just entered my room.

The room was smaller than I imagined. I feel there was too much furniture in such a small space. My advice is to remove an end table and slide bed another two or three inches in order to have access to dresser. Also, I recommend smaller table and chairs in the balcony. The hotel is well located and the staff is very helpful. There is a new part of the hotel and an old one. The old one seriously needs a coat of paint and a change of carpet, even if they wait a bit to remodel the bathrooms (which is also on a to do list) because the impression walking to your room is a “where the h&ll did I book, this hotel is a century old and is going to be full of bedbugs and lice)… however the linens and beds were amazing, as were the amenities.
Only issue, the bathroom was not only old, but it felt dirty, the grout is stained and there were hairs in the tub that also didn’t drain properly. NOT a good look.

I was charged for a queen bed for 1 week and was given a full size bed for 1 week. Management did not reimburse me for the over charge for a bed I never got

I was fortunate to have a room at the back of the property, which was very quiet. Also, being on the 7th floor, I had a lovely view. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Lovely breakfast room with many food and beverage choices. Best of all was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is in a good location. Very close to the bus/train system. Close to notre dome that you can walk there. Luxemburg gardens is also just a quick walk away.
Quite area, away from noise and the crazy amounts of tourists.
Front desk was beyond helpful. Very friendly.
Also breakfast was included which was great. Very yummy and a good variety of food and drink. Honestly the breakfast made me very happy.
The room itself was quite small, but the cleaning staff was very good. And little treats and drinks left in the fridge for no extra charge was a great.

This hotel is in a great location. It was within easy walking distance to the Latin Quarter and near two different metro stations. There is an abundance of restaurants for dinner within 3 blocks of the hotel.

Love the location of this hotel, and the staff at the front desk were very helpful! But the room is so tiny, bathroom facilities are so old, and the elevator is way too small.

Amazing location and good service. The breakfast was very good each day and they had cake or dessert in the afternoon which was a nice touch. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. I booked a balcony which was small but nice to have. The room is small and very clean but need some refurbishing. Would stay again!

I loved the staff! They were very helpful and informative.

I didn’t like that there wasn’t a coffee machine in the room. But they did offer these tasty treats once you check in.
