Great Boulangerie across the street.
Staff were excellent and inviting.
The lobby and front lounge area is cool - nice arcade glass game machine.
The room was clean.
The bed was comfortable.
But the hotel is a little (just a little) tired and in need of some upkeep/refurb.
The wall plaster in our room was bubbling.
Scratches on the toilet seat.
Our room was also to the front of the hotel, and despite admittedly good sound-proofing, traffic noise and sirens were pretty constant.
Bd Saint-Marcel is a pretty busy street.
So if you are a light sleeper, ensure you do not get a boulevard-facing room.
Also - the hotel room's Air Conditioning is not a dedicated unit that you can control to your liking.
It is a centrally managed panel, so if AC is important to you, pay close attention.
Oh, and our room also had lots of noise coming from other people's showers, toilets, taps, etc.

Wonderful Stay for Our Family in Paris

We stayed in the Junior Suite and it was just the right amount of space for our family of four. The hotel was a fantastic choice—clean, comfortable, and in a quiet residential part of the Latin Quarter that felt very safe, which we really appreciated.

The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Public transportation was a breeze, with both bus and metro stations just a short walk away. Plenty of restaurants as well.

We used the spa for massages the day we arrived—such a relaxing way to kick off the trip. One of the highlights was taking a tuk tuk tour of the city from the hotel, which made sightseeing easy and fun.

Breakfast was delicious (a little on the pricey side, but worth it). We also loved having an espresso machine and a mini fridge in the room. The bathroom was surprisingly large, and the cold A/C was a lifesaver during the warmer days.

Overall, we’d absolutely recommend this hotel for families visiting Paris. It was a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and charm.

My wife and I stayed here for 8 nights in May 2025. All the staff at the front desk were extremely nice, cheerful, and helpful. The metro station is close by. The neighborhood was very pleasant and safe. There are two grocery stores and numerous restaurants nearby.

The elevator was a bit small, but that seems typical for Paris

The photos of the hotel on the website do not match the actual rooms. The smell of sugary sweet cleaning products was overwhelming. I was awoken before the sunrise by the smell of frying food (perhaps the vent from the kitchen was right outside my window?). The pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable. There is no way this hotel is 4 stars.

This is a great hotel. Near lots of transportation, well kept and nice looking. The only drawback is the bathroom; it's so small you can barely turn around. You'll need to keep the door open to towel off after a shower.

The hotel appears to have been recently renovated so the room seemed quite modern with good amenities (including a strong hairdryer, not the “vacuum hose in some hotels.” ) The room is very small even by Paris standards. I was disappointed that there was no refrigerator but at least there was a kettle and coffeemaker. Ask for a room that does not front Blvd Saint Marcel. There is a hospital nearby and the sirens can be loud even with the window closed. There are boulangeries, restaurants and groceries in the area, but the neighborhood is not as charming as other areas. The staff was uniformly welcoming and helpful.

The property is clean and well-maintained. However, the room I paid for was not the one I received. I did not have a small fridge to store my medication or a closet for my clothing. The bathroom tub is so high that it is difficult to get access to take a shower. I imagine that a short man or lady would have trouble getting inside the tub. There was no safe deposit to store valuables..

Great hotel. Super chic and easy access to Le Gobelins metro. Absolutely spotless. Huge shout out to the cleaning staff.
Positives:
Huge towels which was fabulous. Lots of sockets and even 2 USB charging points. Amazing air con!!! Desk with mirror. Wonderful shower. Free water each day in the room. Bed super comfy and king size. Lots of lights and lamps and reading lights. Beautifully remade room every day. Lots of quirky storage and shelving. Beautiful decor and styling of room.
Possible negatives but not for us: only one English Channel which was BBC world news (I watched live tennis so didn’t bother me.. but you may want to some downloading before you arrive). Only half a dozen hangers on an open rail, so we lived out of our suitcases which we are fine with as only here for 3 nights.
OVERALL…lovely staff, reception and cleaning staff. We really liked the location as we were prolific users of the metro and bus so could get everywhere from here. Great stay and we would definitely stay here again xxx

We have stayed at La Demeter before. The service is professional and helpful. The lobby area is comfortable. They have a Wine bar and other drinks that you can purchase.
We stayed in the superior room and it was clean and had more room. It is quiet. The decor is nice.
It is in a great neighborhood with many restaurants and a metro nearby. Overall I would recommend this place.

The room was abit on the small side however I was told it was typical of Paris. FIne for someone alone and with a small suitcase, however if you had a larger suitcase or if there are 2 people you might struggle. Bathroom was clean and looked new. However in the room some details looked slightly worn out but it was still clean and presentable. Location is excellent as you are near metro and bus station. There is a convience store right outside and amazing take away just a couple of doors down. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We loved this hotel, highly recommend. It had the feel of a boutique hotel and the junior suite was perfect for an adult and two teenagers, large rooms and the sofa bed in the living area allowed my son to have space to himself. The hotel was very quiet, no noise from other rooms at all, comfortable beds and good air conditioning – perfect! Very helpful, friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again when in Paris.

We stayed here for two nights and had a very positive experience. This hotel is a great value, well-located with good facilities. It's a 5 minute walk from the Gobelins metro station, 10-15 minute walk to the Ruse Mouffetard and Jardin de Luxembourg, and close to many excellent restaurants and cafes. The room was attractive, but quite small. There was barely enough space to walk around the bed, and it's a miracle how a toilet, sink and shower could fit into a 4'x5' bathroom! We were surprised with a terrace that had lovely views over Blvd St Marcel and the city. The bed was very comfortable. We didn't try breakfast, but you can easily get an inexpensive and tasty breakfast at the boulangeries within a block or two. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay again!

The front desk staff at this hotel were top notch, the absolute best! We arrived before check in and they held onto our luggage. When we returned our luggage was already in the room for us. They made cab reservation and dinner reservations and suggested fantastic places to eat. The hotel was very clean, our room (junior suite) was perfect and the hotel location is fantastic. I’d give more than 5 stars for this hotel if I could.

The room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable. Although the room is small, it was very stylishly decorated and modern! Cute French doors overlooking the street when you wake up! Originally booked this property as it said it overlooks the Latin quarter but it’s about a 25 minute walk to the main area of the Latin quarter as the hotel is technically in 13th Arrondissement. We loved the hotel but weren’t a fan of Paris so we wouldn’t return to the city personally. But no complaints about the hotel at all!

The room was lovely however when we first arrived, there was a bag with cigarettes and ashes outside our door, there was no bag in the small bin in the bathroom and there were only two towels when we clearly stated we are 2 adults and 2 kids, so it seems as if the cleaner didn’t do her job. Also, I don’t think the floor was recently cleaned as my baby was crawling and you could see the filth and dirt on his clothes.

This small hotel was good value for money, with the staff being very professional and kind at the same time. The room was pleasant, small, ok for one person, but not spacious enough in case I would be accompanied by second person. Nice decoration & original, good barhroom, tv, but out of 50 channels only English language was CNN. Didn't try breakfast. The building is old, but with nice touches of modern design inside. I would recommend it.

Nice hotel but useless lift!

Room very clean and comfortable and staff very helpful. Great and unexpected view of the Eiffel Tower. Ideal location for our purposes.

Only problem was the lift broke down, meaning that my elderly parents who have mobility problems, had to walk up and down 5 flights of stairs to get to and from their rooms.

I also felt very sorry for the lady on breakfast duty as she had to deal with loads of guests on her own and was run off her feet.

We loved the room and the friendly, helpful staff (especially Mireille). The neighborhood was great with quite a few places to eat very close by. I recommend the bakery diagonally across the intersection from the hotel. Everything was perfect, except for the sofa bed, which was very uncomfortable. It might be okay for little kids but not for teenagers.

We traveled to Paris for the first part of a 3 week European vacation, the location of the hotel was great. Lots of cafes nearby and very easy to get to public transportation. The staff were so very friendly and helpful. The only thing I would change, the air conditioning in our room (106) did not work very well so it was rather hot in our room at night. Aside from that the bed was very comfortable and we loved our stay.

The hotel was pleasant however, having based my choice on booking this hotel on the reviews and pictures online, I was disappointed when I arrived.

I know that naturally hotels would be small in Paris but it was literally a boxed room and a little bathroom (LITERALLY). I booked into the standard double room but even still it was quite tight. You kind of have to walk on your side as you walk around the bed.

I think booking a junior suite would have been a much better option (had I known) but there were no availabilities when we arrived and wanted upgrade. The online pictures are very professionally taken making is quite deceiving.

The room and hotel is very clean and cleaned everyday. The cleanliness is second to none and the hotel seems to have been recently refurbished because everything is new. You don’t hear any noises from any rooms and the walls are soundproof.

The hotel is situated in a very good area with a nice view of Paris from the bedroom window. The train station is about a 3 minutes walk in either direction with very good connections to all of Paris. Local supermarkets in either direction and local cafes. I can’t review the breakfast on offer as we chose to go to the local cafes and sample out the food instead.

Reception was so helpful and very kind, especially Mateusz. He knew a lot of information on tourist attractions and was very helpful on providing us with bookings when we needed. He went above and beyond whenever we asked for help.

The room was extremely small with too much funrniture for the size. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom features were very good. The AC did not work the first night and we had to ask the front desk staff to turn it on. We arrived back to the hotel after dinner on the second night and the AC did not work again. Upon calling the front desk we were told it was not functioning for the entire hotel. We did not sleep well this night as it was warm in the room and could not open the window due to black flies.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We had a junior suite and it was spacious for our family of four. Our room felt like a small apartment. Hard wood floors, well decorated, large bathroom, huge tub and nice details. Our room was a little warm and the front desk has some control over the temperature. I complained and they allowed me to lower the temperature some.
The location is good, but you do not walk right out into the action. The metro is a short walk.

We would definitely stay here again!

The hotel was near a metro. It has restaurants and cafes nearby and was 2 seconds from a supermarket great for water for the room and snacks. The internet in the room was amazing, enough to stream Netflix which I've never had in a hotel before. Clean and cool looking rooms. Good bathroom facilities even though they were small. Big windows that opened right up which would be amazing in summer. Awesome view straight to the Eiffel tower. It's the best hotel room I've had in Paris as it actually felt like a hotel and not a dodgy overpriced room in someone's house. Great place and I'll stay here again when I go back.

The location of the hotel was fairly near to the main train stations that I require to travel for my day trips, walk-able distance to metro stations and bus stops. The bed was very comfortable, had good night sleep and the overall cleanliness was good. Required to print my online tickets where the receptionist has been very very helpful. Had the junior suite door to the room is a little awkward to open as the door is right beside the stairs. Room was quiet even tho the room is right beside a main street. Beautifully renovated hotel in calm area

We had a junior suite, loved the big bed, thick linen and cozy duvet. Not a noise at night. The bathroom was big and in pristine condition. Nice decoration, minimalist but not your boring standard hotel room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Conveniently close to public transport and within walking distance of the Mouffetard district.

Generous breakfast with good choice and reasonably priced, although I would have like more veggie/vegan options like almond milk and real olive oil and some nuts.

Really enjoyed staying at the Demeure. It's in a brilliant location about 300m from Les Gobelins metro stop, and just over 1km away from Jardin des Plantes and the Catacombs in the opposite direction. The hotel is decorated very stylishly, and feels more like a boutique hotel than a best western! The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are small yes, but have everything you could need and more. Ours had a SmartTV which my partner enjoyed connecting his phone to after dinner, a kettle and a nespresso coffee machine (although instructions on how to use this would not go amiss!). The rooms are really well decorated. The bathroom is tiny but the shower more than makes up for that, being a very large walk in two headed affair. Toiletries are provided, and the towels are perhaps the best I've ever used in a hotel. All in all a brilliant stay and would not hesitate to recommend - and we will be returning some day!

The hotel is very nice. Although it's not in the center of the city, it is very close to bus stops and metro. The junior suite is very big and perfect for a family. Breakfast is included, which is a plus. And they provide bottled water for your convenience. The hotel staff is very friendly and helped me at 3am with printing documents. There are restaurants and markets close by for those who don't want to go too far.

I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel staff were great throughout and the hotel is well kept, clean and quiet. Really good location both for local eating and drinking and for getting around Paris. The Butte au Cailles area is within easy walking distance. In the evening this is very buzzy with locals eating and drinking at the bars and restaurants.

Overall the hotel itself was very nice and after an early flight we were kindly given us of a room to shower in until our room was ready however the lady on reception was not very helpful and quite abrupt. The following morning the same lady was very unhelpful when we asked for a taxi, after it didn't arrive she told us to get be on the street but did not know if we could pay by card or how to actually hail a taxi. Also although there was a coffee machine in the room we had no coffee and only green tea.

Very nice decorated hotel. The rooms are big enough and french sytle windows which make the area more specious.Bathrooms are perfect.They have just renovated. Beds and pillows are comfortable and clean. Inside the room we have a coffee machine and cattle for tea. Breakfast are highly recomended. Five star breakfast for three star hotel! And the staff are kind and helpful especcially the guy in the breakfast room. Location is also perfect. Metro station is just a walking distance. (Les gobelins) the bus station is in front of hotel.And there are lots of restaurants, cafes,markets, pastry and also a hamam sauna near the hotel but still very quiet and descent place to stay. I would prefer for the next vacation.

Nice hotel in good location

The hotel is nice and modern inside, the rooms albeit quite small had all the facilities I required. The reception staff were very helpful. Breakfast was adequate but felt very much self-service even the coffee was from a self service machine. The hotel was in easy reach of 2 metro stations within a few minutes walk which made it easy to go sightseeing round Paris and as there isn’t much nightlife in that particular area we found it quite peaceful at night for sleeping

Very nice, if you don't need a lot of space

The room is very modern and fancy, the bathroom was especially nice, it was the coolest nicest shower I've ever seen. The bed was very comfortable and everything was extremely clean and smelled nice. There was a large window we could open and could control our own thermostat. The room came with a nespresso machine and bottles of water, and as we used the kcups the maid replaced them for no extra charge. There are restaurants close and the metro station is also close, it is not walkable to city center but the metro system is great; also there is uber. The only issue is that the room was extremely small. It was the smallest hotel room I've ever been in and I was a tour guide in Europe for 2 years. Still comfortable but it was difficult to access our luggage as there was not enough room on the floor to open it and we neeed to do so on the bed.

Friendly staff, very clean hotel. Breakfast in the morning was great, I would recommend the express, it is more than enough. Hotel room was small but very comfortable. Hotel is near metro and bus- easy to get anywhere.

Lovely Stay!

The hotel location is very nice, close to metro M5 and M7, good and easy for sightseeing. The hotel just completed the renovation, everything was nice and clean. Staffs are so friendly and breakfast was good.

My parents like it so much and will be back if we visit Paris again :)

Cute, small hotel

I stayed here with my boyfriend for 3 nights in late May. We arrived to find out that they are currently renovating the hotel...so the elevator was not working and they were doing construction during the day. This is planned to be completed by early summer 2017 so it should not be an issue for too much longer.

This also meant we had to walk up to the 5th floor to get to our room. The hotel staff did help bring bags up upon arrival. The only other time this was an issue was one day when we went back to the room to take a break/nap during the day and it was very loud from the construction on another floor.

The room is small but normal for Paris. Bathroom is also tiny but very clean. Front desk staff were super nice and helpful. It is a bit of a walk from the major tourist sites but there are a lot of cute cafes around and also a metro stop very close by.

Clean and nice hotel

We really enjoyed our stay at Demeure hotel. It's a great location to anywhere you want. And staff were super nice and helpful. However, due to they were doing some re-decorations, the lift was not working during our staying. So, my parents (over 60 years old) had to climb 3 floors everyday.

Very good modern hotel with very good service

Very nice and modern. Very well suited for business travelers. Very good Wifi, Office area with desk. Desk had power outlets and a MAC desktop as well.

Would recommend this hotel. Room was small but to be expected. 1 mile walk to notre dame cathedral, Parthenon, Luxembourg gardens. Friendly staff. Updated amenities just like the picture. Ask for a room on one of the top floors for best view!

Pleasant receptionist, nice hotel

A very pleasant receptionist was exceptionally helpful with everything, the room was clean but the decor looked like it was ready for a fresh coat of paint. The fact that there were no carpets on the floor was very nice for someone like myself who is allergic to dust and carpet fibers

Yes, the rooms are small but that's all part of the experience. The staff could not be more helpful, there are great restaurants nearby and a metro station is two blocks away. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!

quite a disaster experience as many problems occurred, room condition and service is poorly maintained, people at the reception is reactive for requests, even just find a temp staff who cant provide any help or solutions...was a good hotel before, but seems many things change these days, my advice is to avoid this until the service and facilities get improved...
