The hotel was conveniently located near a metro station as well as good affordable eats. There is construction on the street in front of the hotel. The construction starts around 8am and end at 3:30pm. If you’re looking too sleep in this may not be the hotel for you

This was a cute place with a nice window to look on the garden. The staff was a little hit and miss. Sometimes their was someone friendly there to help and sometimes it was someone distracted. The only negative which I have found at other European hotels is that they give you coffee for your room only the first night. I don't get this. I paid the same for every night. Why can't I get a cheap coffee pod every night?

I stayed at this hotel in Paris in the third week of May 2025, and I’m honestly shocked by how bad the experience was. It looked great online—that’s why I booked it—but the reality was appalling.

The room was filthy. Curtains were ripped, mold covered the bottom of the shower and the drain, and the entire space felt neglected. Worst of all, the service was downright awful—rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional.

Ideally situated hotel in a good area. Probably the best area of Paris we have stayed in over the years.
The girls ( daughter and friend) had a great room with balcony and space.
Our room had the smallest bathroom we have ever seen and a cupboard housed the toilet. That was so small my husband couldn’t properly fit in it. We would stay again but have made a note to ensure we get a properly sized room.
Very comfy bed and pillows.

This is the \"Little Hotel that could\". Sorry, it just fell short for me. Good location to the underground and buses. Across the street from a zoo. The hotel room was too small. The elevator was single person with a bag. The people around the area were surprisingly helpful. I would find a place nearby to stay.

Location was the reason we choose this place. This was a typical smaller double affordable Paris hotel room. It had classic french windows that opened which we loved. There wasn't much room for hanging. We were there only two nights with two carry on size bags so we could fit but maybe they should consider removing desk and put in more hanging. There was a nespresso machine in room so you could start your day with an espresso. The breakfast staff, housekeeping, and AM receptionist were very nice. The PM reception could be more engaged in friendly greeting but he did his job correctly and it didn't affect our stay. The location was fantastic and just 1/2 block down from Sorbonne and Jussieu metro stop-- don't miss the Sunday vintage/flea market!

Hotel des Jardins is conveniently located to metro access. Breakfast offerings were not worth the money. It is a tired hotel. The corridors and public areas were in need of updating. The hotel room itself had a comfy bed and a good bathroom and was clean. It was a bit noisy at times but this is Paris and Paris is noisy.

The hotel was pretty standard. The room was small but served our needs (however, the outlets for charging our devices were down by the floor and so it was hard to have your devices charging and also use the device; also you have to choose between the lamps or your device because the lamps plug into the same outlets). There was a sewage smell from time to time emanating from the bathroom; not sure if it was coming from the shower drain, sink drain, or toilet, so we ended up keeping the bathroom door closed most of the time. The hotel staff were lovely, and the hotel itself is well located (close to 2 metro stations, and a really great boulangerie a block and a half away...the one right across the street is okay but not as good as the Oria boulangerie). I loved how quiet it was, although the doors make a lot of noise when entering/exiting the rooms. There is a lot of delicious food within a 10 minute walk, and the jardin des plantes is a great place to sit and enjoy pastries or sandwiches during the day. It was nice having hotel staff at the desk 24 hours a day, meaning no finangling with card access to get in if you're coming home late. We did not eat the breakfast there (14 euros per person seemed exorbitant when we could just walk across the street and get pastries for 1,30) but people seemed to enjoy it. I would stay there again.

The property is fine, not quite what it looks in the pictures. It’s a worn out building, simple and a bit dark. The people are very nice and helpful. The breakfast is adequate. The area is fine during the day, with several restaurants and cafes, and close to the Metro. You can go everywhere using the Metro but the place is also within walking distance of many gorgeous sights. The Jardin des plants, right across the hotel is beautiful!

The area becomes a bit lonely and somehow sketchy at night.

We found the value of the place somehow high for what they offer. But nothing is cheap in Paris.

Overall this Hotel was quite good. Room size was adequate and beds comfortable. TV and coffee maker on room however no iron nor fridge in room. Note that you only get 2 coffee capsules for coffee on the first day after that you need to buy your own or be charged 2 euro per capsule. Hotel is a 5 minute walk to Metro station and supermarkets. There is someone at front desk most times.

While the room was small, this was explained in the website prior to booking, so it was not a problem. It was an easy 15 minute walk to Notre Dame Cathedral. The Jardin des Plantes is directly across the street and has amazing gardens, zoo and museum. It is a block from the Sorbonne and there many nice cafes around to eat at. There’s also a local park that surrounds an ancient Roman arena, now used for community recreation. It’s an hidden gem!

My wife and I were very happy with this hotel.
I'd specifically chosen it solely because of its proximity to the Jardin des Plantes (and the amazing museums there), but it turned out to also be a great base of operations for exploring all over the city - especially a new discovery (for us), the nearby Rue Mouffetard, full of great little shops, cafes, restaurants, and bars - and life!

The hotel itself borders on barebones but is really quite nice, especially for the money. Don't expect huge rooms (its Paris after all), and gilt everything. But, you do get quaint modern, clean, rooms which are just big enough, with great beds and amazing views - and friendly helpful staff.

It's always a dumb thing to say, especially in a city as full of special neighborhoods and great places to stay, but we'd happily stay here again.

The staff are very friendly and the location is perfect. We had a great view from the 4th floor and the room is quite newly renovated. We did find the room to be too small though with no space to put our luggage. The two single beds were very tiny, as were the towels provided. And the lift in the building was also very small with only room for 2 people in very close proximity. We would probably stay here again, although only if we had small bags as there was no space to put our things in the room. Paris is expensive but this place wasn’t quite worth the money we paid.

Very convenient for the Metro and Jardin des Plantes (don't miss it) but the cramped bedroom had no drawers, hooks or wardrobe. Open hanging space with four coathangers. TV stations are all in French only.

Temperamental coffee machine and one had to ask each day for ingredients. Neither bedside lamp was working.
The shower was strong and new - so new in fact that the door was fitted only halfway through our five-night stay. A floorboard was raised. The toilet seat was unhinged.

The cellar breakfast room had tiny tables with tiny plates. Breakfast was adequate.

We’ve stayed there three times over the last 20 years and will continue to go back. The hotel rooms are predictably small but serviceable. The rooftop garden plants need a little clean up, but still provide a fantastic respite. The best thing? The location. The neighborhood is wonderful— few tourists and friendly local businesses. It never changes. We love it there. And the botanical garden is across the street.

Cute bistros and boulangeries nearby, the Jardin des Plantes is beautiful, and many transportation options with a metro station on block away and bike/scooter stations just steps away. The Mosquée de Paris is another stunning local find.

This hotel was good for a budget stay in Paris. It was 2 blocks from the Metro station, and from there 20 minutes by train from all the major attractions. On the flip side, the rooms are very small, the elevator only holds 2 persons, whenever a door opens it blocks the halls, in general is a very tight design. But it works as a place to drop the bags and come back to sleep at the end of your day. The AC was controlled from the from desk so that made it very uncomfortable for us since we wanted a colder temperature on our room. It was located on a pleasant and safe neighborhood.

The hotel is really close to the metro station and has some cute cafes around. The hotel itself is very clean, the rooms are very modern, simple and comfortable. The shower/bathroom was fantastic. The only downside was I stayed in the bedroom that was on the ground floor opposite the reception desk. Because of this the noise of the people traffic was very loud. I could hear every single person coming in through the front doors, going into the lifts etc. Therefore even though my bed and room was comfortable, I didn’t get a very good nights sleep. The other issue was I didn’t know how to lock the terrace doors (the key lock is on the outside) and unfortunately neither did the man at reception so as a single women staying in an unknown place I felt slightly nervous that the terrace doors were open. So again, really great that I had somewhere to have my coffee outside in the morning, however flip side was a felt slightly unsafe at night. I’m sure there was a really easy way to do it, however the receptionist was also unsure.

This hotel is a perfect example of what you would want in an airport to catch some sleep. The bedding is excellent and the place is like new. Breakfast was well done and typical Paris breads, meats, eggs and coffee. Have to say, the rooms are really small. We have used small room hotels before and they work if you are mostly roaming around being a tourist.

Weren’t allowed to control our own climate control

Room was much, much smaller than online photos suggest. Maybe 2-3 feet wider and 4 feet longer than the bed. The bathroom was very well appointed but maybe 3 feet across. We were not allowed to control our air conditioning and desk staff didn’t know how either.

Good stay in Paris

The location of the this hotel is fantastic.....on a quiet street right across from Jardin des Plantes, down the street from rue Mouffetard and close to many other amenitie including 2 metro stops. The room and bathroom are smaller than in North America but they usually are in Europe, I find. Everything was very clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable . The safe in the room and the free bottle of water was an added bonus. The only complaint I would have about the room is that there is not much shelf space or hooks to hang and put things but that is a minor issue. The service at the front desk is ok....not too friendly or welcoming but not rude either. Don’t forget that there is a very small tourist levy that they charge you when you check out (all hotels do it) and they only give you one room key.
