The check in process was pretty easy and the room was quite big. It served its purpose, that’s for sure, but I would probably splurge a little more on a better hotel if I were to stay in Florence. There was nothing too wrong about Hotel Dalmazia, it was just very average.

Was not near downtown Florence, so would not suit someone wanting to be near the main attractions, museums etc. but neighborhood was safe and walkable with great gelato and dining options within short walk. We even were able to walk to the train station 35 ish minutes away with luggage for our departure. Property would not suit someone who could not do stairs.

Very good and affordable hotel. The tramway is right in the street, which is good for transportation but bad for the sound (nothing too noisy though). I would gladly go back if I ever go to Firenze again.

Stay here, it's lovely

This is a lovely hotel. The owners are friendly and very welcoming. The hotel itself is clean, well situated & quiet. The building is in excellent condition and transport to Florence S.M.N is easy. Lots of amenities nearby, including a laundromat. Would definitely would recommend.

Let down

Upon arrival into our room, we noticed the number of flies that were flying around the room. We had to trap them into the room which had the only source of natural light in. We contacted hotels.com and the virtual agent was very helpful although couldn’t get through to the hotel. The bed itself has stains which appeared to look like mould underneath so my friend and I slept on top of the covers with a towel we had provided for ourselves. As you can imagine this was very uncomfortable.

We could not settle into the hotel room at all. The first morning we had was being woken up by the construction work outside which we had no pre warning of.

The property did not have Wifi either which was stated on the website and is an important thing for young travellers.

The area itself was great and the staff themselves were okay but the hotel could do with updating massively.

This is a great basic hotel (no elevators and only 3 floors) A short walk to the easy and convenient tram, which will take you to the old town. It was hot when we arrived, and the air conditioning quickly cooled down our room (although not the bathroom). Staff was very friendly. There's a lovely simply breakfast. Not a fancy place, but a good experience at an old school Italian hotel.

The hotel was comfortable and clean. From the central station it took approximately 30 minutes which was totally okay. The staff was lovely and very helpful. The only thing missing for me was the hotel slippers because I forgot to pack one. Other than that it was superb!

The hotel is what was expected for the price. Managed by a team of nice Filipino ladies. The breakfast was a simple European style spread, with a coffee machine, but nothing special. It’s a quick and easy 10-15 minute tram ride from the ‘Valfonda’ station, next to Firenze SMN. The local Dalmazia area has a few stores and restaurants, should you prefer not to be in the central Florence district. The hotel rooms were very simple but very clean. The only problem was the mosquitoes, when opening the window, which was surprising for February. Overall, if you’re looking for cheap accommodation, with English speaking staff, it’s ok.

I was not expecting the good conditions that the hotel had to be considered just a 2 starts hotel. The rooms were big, super clean and comfy! The breakfast was great because you can pick from pastries, yogurts and cereals. You could drink any type of infusion (hot coco, teas, coffees…awesome!) I really liked it! And the staff was super nice as well!❤️

The stay was amazing! It felt very authentic, and organized. It is at an amazing location right near the duomo. There is AC, which is very fortunate in these hot summer months! There is also a refrigerator in the room which is very helpful! Highly recommend.

Nice, clean facilities, not far from the center. The downside is that there is no A/C and there are no screens on the windows, so mosquitoes can get in if you leave the window open for the night. They provide an anti-mosquito smell device, but it is not efficient. A screen on the window would work much better.

The place was a bit hard to locate as there are lots of street works going on that block off roads or make one way streets so the GPS had a challenge getting me there as street signs are not really visible anywhere easily. The hotel entrance looks like a residence entry so it was also a bit confusing. However, once you get there the host was very kind and helpful and the room was good.

Clean hotel at a great price! But FAR from center

Clean hotel with breakfast included which was nice. 3 beds crammed into 1 room was what we got - would've been nice to have a bit more space, but for the price it's hard to complain. My only complaints are that the hotel is about a 45 minute walk from central Florence and there is some serious construction going on right outside the hotel.

Good place to stay. Takes 15 mins to reach the hotel via Bus, but loved the neighborhood. Very peaceful. The Hotel is also very nice. Small and cozy. the staffs were very nice to the customers. The breakfast is not great, but good. Will fulfill your morning need. the Room was tidy and specious. The bathroom was also very big and full with toiletries. The plus to the room was with a balcony which was beautiful.

The only downside was the internet. really struggled to connect from mobile during the whole stay. Even if it was connected, the speed was pathetic. A good internet (Wifi) would make the hotel a very good one. For the international travelers, a good internet is very important.

Pretty good hotel-my second stay

This was my second stay in \"Dalmazia\". I already published a review on this site on Oct 16, 2014 and I confirm what I have said a year ago. But during my second stay I also noticed several improvements.
1. Last year, there was nothing in the wardrobe in my room. This year, I have stayed in the very same room as a year ago and when I opened the wardrobe I found a pillow and a very good blanket, with which I was very happy.
2. The staircase and the breakfast room are better decorated than a year ago.
3. They have added Philadelphia cream cheese to their breakfast menu and I appreciated it.

The hotel is very nice & good location.

The hotel is a 20 min walk from the train station, there are a handful of restaurants within a stone throw of the hotel. You can also hire bikes which is a plus. Overall not a bad hotel.

It was a great stay! The only negative was that the bathrooms were not private. But I was traveling alone and it was 1 bathroom for every 2 rooms, so no big deal to me.

Pretty good hotel

This hotel is basic but good enough. It is located near piazza Dalmazia around 10 min walk from the Rifredi train station or you can take a bus from SMN.
My room was small and had a basic furniture, but it was clean and comfortable enough. As for the bathroom, everything was perfectly functional and looked brand new.
Breakfast was good enough and I have no complaints about the service.

Lo que me a gustado; que el sitio está muy bien comunicado y la terraza .
Lo que no me gustó es que pagamos algo que no tenía; con decir que ni aire acondicionado ,que de hotel no tiene nada más bien un hostal por decir algo .Pasamos a los desayunos bastante escaso algunas frutas pasadas el jamón de días anteriores tres tenedores y tres cucharillas ; el primer día vasos de plastico.
La habitación regular ,el colchon tenía unos muelles que se te clavaban en la espalda difícil descansar y por no decir más los mosquitos ni poniendo el aparato podíamos dormir...Para mí ha sido el peor hotel con diferencia .Todo este comentario pongo para que otras personas no lo pasen mál, porque si vas a un hotel es para descansar.

El hotel es pequeño pero cómodo, la habitación tenia buen tamaño, el desayuno era bueno.

Solo tuvimos un inconveniente ya que el area de regadera ya estaba tapada desde que la use por primera vez, por lo que no se iba el agua, aunque fue un problema que solucionaron rápido.

Justo en la calle del hotel pasa el tranvía por lo que el trasponrte hacia el casco histórico de Florencia era muy sencillo y rápido.

Recomendaria el hotel.

Déçu de mon séjour de 2 nuits, en arrivant déjà pas de parking alors que sur description etait écrit parking disponible alors oui disponible dans la rue et payant.
Chambre au 3eme étage sans ascenseur.
Cabine de douche petite impossible de bouger à l interieur.
Point positif clim mais qui n a pas fonctionner la dernière nuit donc on a eut vraiment très chaud.
Isolation mauvaise. Bref très déçu.

Vicini.Pulizia buona, l'Hotelè gestita da cinesi gentili e cordiali. La Colazione e proprio misera, consiglio il solo pernottamento e poi fare colazione al bar. Do un giudizio globale positivo essendo un 2 Stelle.

Everything was fine - but for 2* overprized...

Firenze is really worth a visit - a very pleasant city.

About the hotel: the hotel is located 6 or 7 stops by tram (ticket costs 1.50) from the main train station, the area looks friendly, there is a large supermarket only about 200 meters away, but there are also a few other late night shops.

The hotel itself is 2* and for a 2* it's actually pleasant (but more on that later).

The reception is in the basement (-1), the lady there was friendly.

You then go up a flight of stairs (no elevator) to the room - but the staircase looks also friendly and freshly painted.

The room itself seemed gloomy, because it didn't have its own window, but the room next to it has a window.

This \"next room\" also houses huge boilers, which I have never seen anywhere else before in a Hotel.

Then follows another room: the bathroom.

Sounds a bit weird, and it was.

The bathroom was bright, clean and had a window.

Otherwise there was a wardrobe, a desk, 3 beds in our double room, a fridge and AC.

The AC is really important because the room itself had - as I wrote - no window.

You shouldn't open the windows in the boiler room or in the bathroom, because then you attract mosquitoes - but we were able to kill them.

What was really positive (and I'm very, very picky): everything was absolutely clean. You could eat off the floor. Also the bedsheets and the towels were clean and there was a good smell also in the staircase (a bit artificial, but good).

Descaso com o hóspede

Chegamos no hotel cansadas para fazer o checkin e a atendente disse que nao tinha quarto disponivel ( embora tivessemos feito a reserva e o pagamento) . Nos mandaram para outro hotel, ao qual tivemos que ir andando uns 15 munutos e ao chegar la alem de termos nos deparado com um hotel horrivel, tambem nao tinha vaga. Voltamos ao hotel Dalmazia e entao arrumaram um apartamento. Quanto ao apartamento nao podemos reclamar estava bem limpo e compativel com um hotel 2 estrelas. O problema foi o descaso no checkin porque eles tinham um apartamento e mesmo assim disse que nao tinha e nos mandou para um hotel horrivel que tivemos que ir a pe carrgando mala e quando chegou ainda nao tinha vaga tambem. Apesar de distante do centro histórico, tem metrô muito proximo. Outra falha é o horario do cafe da manha que so comeca 08 hs.

L'hotel è davvero molto pulito e il personale molto disponibile e flessibile.
Per essere un 2 stelle è in ottime condizioni. Per un soggiorno veloce a Firenze è davvero ottimo e comodo, noi abbiamo solo dormito.

3 jours à Florence en famille. La ville est magnifique. L’hôtel …. Bof. Nous sommes une famille de trois personnes au petit déjeuner il nous était proposé qu’une table de deux… 😳Nous avons dû déjeuner, ma fille et moi sur une table et mon épouse sur une autre seule dans notre dos !!!! Dans la chambre des escaliers très escarpés, j’en ai encore mal au genou! une première série de quatre marches pour aller dans la salle de bain puis une autre série de trois marches pour aller jusqu’au toilettes… ! Notre chambre donnait sur une rue desservie par le tramway qui ne cesse de circuler toute la nuit… ! Penser bien à demander une chambre silencieuse car il existe des chambre dans cet hôtel donnant sur l’autre côté!
certes le tramway au pied de l’hôtel est un confort si l’on veut se rendre en ville mais le bruit la nuit… !

Me gusto el hotel y la atencion fue buena el unico incoveniente fue que cuando hago la reserva decía que el hotel incluía desayuno y cuando llegó al hotel me dicen que no era así que el desayuno lo tenía que pagar y le mostré la reserva con hotel.com y me dijeron que no de resto todo bien...

Nas fotos parece um hotel grande e legal, mas é bem pequeno, velho e desconfortável. Fica em uma rua movimentada então tem bastante barulho a noite e não tem nenhuma comodidade como frigobar, bons lençois e etc.. O banheiro do quarto é minúsculo e sem janela e no meio de uma noite de verão de mais de 30C o ar condicionado parou de funcionar. Chamamos a funcionária e ela tb não conseguiu ligar o equipamento e nos prometeu trocar de quarto, mas no outro dia disse que tinha alugado o quarto disponível para outra pessoa o que foi uma tremenda falta de respeito e de caracter, já que ela já tinha prometido o quarto para nós. Foi a pior experiência que já tive em um hotel.
