I really enjoyed my stay here. I felt like I got a real Italian experience staying here. It was cozy and the bed was super comfortable. I did have some issues with the wifi at times but other than that everything was great. I would definitely stay here again.

Really dont think that the room matched the pictures on Expedia. The shower cubicle could do with a good cleaning to remove the mould. Bedframe was falling apart and the mattress didn't fit the frame. We found the room to be too cramped. Very outdated. Only positive was location with proximity to trams, attractions and shops and in a good area.

The room is okay, clean, you get what you pay for, this is no 5 star hotel. Its close to the tram or 15min walk from downtown. If youre a light sleeper , even the best earplugs wont cover all the noise of people, doors slamming from the lobby area. So room 1, 2 and 3, forget your sleep after 7-7:30

We stayed for two nights. Nice room, small but clean shared bathroom (the costlier rooms have attached en suites from what we saw). Tea bags and hot water accessible at any time, but coffee was only offered once. Property is pretty far out of town, but at least has a tram stop very close by. All said, for the very cheap price we paid for our visit, it was satisfactory.

It was amazing in room 4 - because there was a cooker for like making eggs or coffee if you had a pan or a mocha master, but I didn’t so I had to invest in one and knives and forks and cup and plate…

But I really like the place very central and easy to get there and convenient:-)

Generally a fine stay, we had some issues at check in, as we had to call someone to come check in, which we only found out by asking some of the guests of the hotel.
One or two days before our arrival B&B cassia sent an email informing that they had moved us to their other hotel, B&B Peterson. They seemed rather similar.

Given the price, we had no complaints. They had a common fridge, microwave and coffee machine. We had a private bathroom and shower, which was great.

Not good, not terrible.

When I was booking the hotel, the shower was included in the room description, but we found only a sink in the room. We witnessed violence against women in the room next to us, I was asked to call the police by the girl, later I also notified the owners but they seemed not happy about the police visit and also they were laughing of our concerns of our own safety.

Very CLEAN!

Convenient to city center with close tram stop.
Very clean, comfortable and quiet. Very conscientious staff doing thorough clean each day.
Price is right if you don’t mind carrying luggage up 3 flights. B&B signs say 2nd floor which is actually up 3 flights. No elevator.

I didn’t particularly like the service, my extra towel was removed and my room wasn’t made, their concept of breakfast is an prepackaged croissant or a 3 day old coffee cake. Also it was odd that the city taxes are collected in cash. I was never able to closed the blinds which mean full view of my room from the bruising across the street.

Clean, nicely decorated room with free continental breakfast. A little bit difficult to get in touch with owners before check in but to be fair, they did specify to notify them 24 hours before check in to organize this as there is no front desk, and I missed this part so emailed them a few hours before check in (worked out in the end), the owners are very nice people. Shampoo and body wash provided, pillows were amazing :) about a 30 minute walk to major attractions but lots of things to do and see along the way. Overall a very nice little place for a very very good price, would recommend.

It's 20€ a night for a clean, comfortable room so can't fault it. If you want high end then you have to pay for it, but as a budget option for a couple of nights I would definitely recommend.

The property is right beside the tram stop into town which was great. The room was basic but it did have a private shower room. A bath mat would have gone a long way. The full breakfast as advertised is a basket with a packaged croissant, a packet of melba toast and some jam. Also there was no coffee making facilities in the room. I was really disappointed with this. The room was clean and when you did see any staff they were pleasant.

Homely room with a good location

The room was very cozy with its old furniture, made us feel like home! Location is good, both a tram stop and a bus stop are about 100m from the door and get you to city center in 5-10 minutes. There is also a great restaurant right next door favored by the locals! Hotel was cozy but unfortunately at least our room lacked soundproofing completely. There was no face-to-face service at least during our visit but instead we received the door codes and instructions by phone, which was kind of convenient too. Good place for a budget traveller! Hotel also served a small breakfast basket to the room the day before, containing some croissants, biscuits, jelly and espresso.

Not a bad place to stay if you are getting in late and want to be relatively close to Florence. Everything is walking distance. But, it's a bare bones kind of place and it smelled like ancient, ancient cigarette smoke--even in the pillows--which made it hard to sleep.

After reading bad reviews was very aprehensive. But couldn't fault our stay. Had our own bathroom and was sent codes to get in the day before we arrived. Was a 10 minute walk to the centre of Florence and excellent value for money. I wouldn't say it was traditional bed and breakfast but had coffee and croissants to go in our room to go, replenished on a daily basis. Was clean and for the price we paid couldn't fault it. I would take some mosquito spray though and there are a lot flying around as quite a lush, green area. Good price and for a budget break couldn't fault it.

The hotel was centrally located and it was an OK stay.

The prices are competitive and the main station is only about 10mins walk away. The room was comfortable enough and it had a cute little balcony. The tea/coffee was great and the staff we met were friendly although we didnt see much of them (no opportunity to ask for suggestions etc)

The room wasn't particularly clean. There were hairs here and there that didn't belong to us. The pillows are incredibly flat and there was no way to control the heating so it was cold at times. There is a big crack in the bathroom window they should fix and the breakfast was basic.

Woman at the "reception" as unwelcoming, room was very basic. Floors looked like they had not been mopped and vacuumed for a while. Free "breakfast" was just a bad tasting packaged croissant, biscuits, and jam. We woke up to bug bites all over our legs. Walls are paper thin, most rooms have a shared bathroom. Coffee machine and bathroom were right in front of our room. We heard every guest wake up, take their shower, and prepare their coffee. Was so bad we only stayed 2 out of our 3 nights in Florence.

E had not human contact all of our stay, let ourselves into the apartment block and flat after being texted the codes and then the room number- breakfast already in the room ready for the next day so nothing fresh and then a coffee machine just outside with a token to have the coffee. Team works right near the hotel and whole side of Florence made it a track away from anything or where you could get on public transport. The room was nice in the hotel but the toilette did smell a bit- good air con in the room though so slept okay

Firstly there was no one at the propery once during our stay. We had to phone someone to get a code to get into the place. The included "breakfast" was just very horrible wrapped croissants. The coffee machine didn't work either. The rest was good. There was just no service at all.

Shared bathroom (unexpected), constantly changing neighbours and thin walls (late night singing kept us awake): either a recipe for a terrible time or a chance to enjoy the richness of people from many nations. Go if you are up for the latter, and it will add to the joy of a beautiful city.

Good stay but location a bummer.

Overall a comfortable, clean and spacious room. Nice and friendly couple running the B&B and they do daily room cleaning. Bathroom was also clean even though it was a shared bathroom.

Take note though that the location is on the wrong side of the town. All the happening things are on the other side of SMN train station. And it’s a 1 km walk to the station every day. The side of town where the B&B is located is more residential and quite dead at night. And due to the construction going on for the tram, it’s not an easy walk to the B&B. I never managed to figure out the route to the B&B from SMN even though I was there for 4 full days.

Not recommended for solo travelers who are looking for nightlife. Ideal for couples who want to stay away from the noisy areas and want an affordable comfortable room to stay. Also recommend taking the bus to get to the B&B, especially if you have heavy luggage - it’s just 2 stops.

The B and B was located with 20 minute walk from the train station. There was a lot construction in this area making the walk more difficult. I was able to check in extremely early which was wonderful! The breakfast that was included was pre-wrapped croissants, slices of toast, cheese and the use of their coffee machine. WiFi was good! Room was basic, nothing fancy. Bathroom was shared with 3 other rooms. Over all service was great! The woman running the B and B,frequently checked in on me to make some I had everything I needed.

We found the B&B very comfortable and clean and good value for money. It's in a good location which does not require any transport to get into the centre, just 15 mins walk.
However, our main niggle is that the B&B in the description offers 'breakfast'. A packaged croissant and a small packet of melba toast is far from what I would call 'breakfast'. We were given two small bottles of water the day we arrived but these weren't replenished - where was our second day of our 'breakfast' refreshments?

Lovely room with balcony and ensuite. Air conditioning helped keep away the heat. Tea and coffee facilities were available in the corridor just outside the room with some croissants and jam for breakfast. Bed was comfortable and having some tea/coffee on the balcony in the morning was a lovely bonus

Comfortoable and welcoming. There was an initial mix up with our room but we were given another without much bother. The only issue that we had was that there was a large group in their early 20s who made so much noise at 1am that a resident in the stair came out of his home to shout at them. The local area also had a lot of road works making it difficult to navigate and adding another 10 mins onto every journey. These will be temporary however and there was an extremely good restaurant at the top of the road called San Jacopino that we ate in every night!

We waited 15-20 minutes for a woman to arrive to open the door. When she arrived, she grudgingly said hello. I suggested that visitors should be notified online and beforehand about the absence of a receptionist. She became aggressive and argued that it was not her problem that we did not have a phone, which was not my point. Overall, she was extremely rude and condescending. On the second day, the water was shut off from 8:30am to the early afternoon. This was a huge inconvenience.

There are not many pros about this choice, apart from a decent wi-fi connection and a convenient location (walking distance to SMN train station). The cons are numerous:
-Don’t be fooled with the hotel description. This is not a B&B, but rather a room inside a 2nd floor flat (6 room capacity) in an old building.
-There’s no check-in so you’ll need to call the number provided post-booking to inform you arrived. The property manager is not fluent in English and will provide you with only basic information about your stay.
-By on-the-go breakfast they mean 1 packaged croissant, 1 pack of toasts, peach jam and 1 bottle of water (only given on the first day) per person. There’s a coffee machine outside the rooms accessible to all hosts and a supermarket cake to share. Needless to say, you may end up eating none of it.
-Our room was equipped with a TV screen and A/C but they didn’t work. We raised the issue to the property manager via SMS, but received no response.
-When we arrived, we were asked to pay the city tax in cash. We didn’t have enough money, so we were told to pay it the day after and that someone would be around to collect the money. That didn’t happen so we left it for the last day. The day before our departure, they left a rude hand-written message to “not forgive the payment” (ipsis verbis).
We would advise any guests to avoid B&B Cassia, unless they’re looking for a cheap hostel-type of stay. Florence is beautiful and this stay may tarnish your view of it.

Pros: Room was small but tidy with attached bathroom though all the rooms were not available with attached bathrooms.
15 mins walk from main central train station.

Cons: This hotel facility was made available in a building of residential apartments and this hotel was one of the flat converted in B&B.
There was no reception at the hotel and we had to wait for 15-20 mins outside on the street waiting for an attendant to reach there and have us checkin.
Booked the room with breakfast but we have just given only 2 breads and 1 croissant that's it. Coffee dock was outside the room near the shared bathroom, doesn't give a sound feeling.
Attendant was not fluent in English.

Overall: Not great value for money but fine if you are planning to stay overnight.

Pleasant room in a quiet neighbourhood.

The staff is friendly and wanting to help, the rooms are being cleaned every day, and the neighbourhood is quiet and nice. The only thing that wasn't very pleasant was the moody shower in the shared bathroom - you never know what to expect from it. But overall, a comfortable and nice place - and quite cheap!

Got off to a bad start when they couldn't find our reservation and the lady receiving us didn't speak English (contrary to what they advertised). But another woman showed up after 10 minutes and came to our rescue. Not sure why, but she placed us at a different B&B nearby (The Peterson I believe it was called), even though she found our reservation. The other one was nicer and came with a wonderful breakfast in bed at the hour of our choosing! Can't say much about the rooms in Cassia since we didn't stay in that one exactly.

A very quiet b&b with comfortable rooms hot showers a lovely expresso machine with some local cake,warm clean rooms freindly staff 20mins walk from town but had a very lovely roundabout square with local shops with great food and wine including a butchers a deli ,a fruit shop, a bakery ( just ashame that the b&b didnt have s small kitchenette with folks and plates so i could have sampled more of these treats for myself ) a freindly bar but my favorite was a small restaurant called san jacopino which served great pizzas and pasta ,the veal was great it was so busy with locals very unassuming area but very friendly and an authentic Italian suburb. A great base to recharge each night after the wonders and sights of Florence.

10 min from train station as the web says,if you don't have high exceptions this is yours B&B,good value for money,my room was on-suite with complementary breakfast(bottle of water,coffee,croissant and toast)
nothing special if you are looking for proper breakfast experience(no my case, I had breakfast every morning in the bar next corner with nice Italian pasty+coffee 1 euro each :-)
Also,you can find amazing restaurant/pizzeria in San Jacopino square where locals go and very economic.

This place gives you only one main phone number with which you need to call ahead so they will come to open the door. We had a lot of trouble calling it and getting the owner to come open the door for us. We waited 50 minutes. Had we not had internet access and asked hotel.com to call for us, we would probably wait even longer. To be fair, this place did give us a free upgrade for one night. Don't expect a lot from the free breakfast.

The Bed & Bed Cassia was quite difficult to find initially as it does look like a normal apartment building. The check in was quite informal as there is no actual check in desk and we were standing around for a while waiting to grab someones attention. The room was a good size with all the amenities you could need, was clean and offered a basic continental breakfast (croissant/coffee etc). The wifi on offer was good and the overall location was suitable for our trip and is reasonably close to the sights. There are quite a lot of stairs to climb to reach the B&B which we weren't aware of but may be an issue if you have heavy luggage. Overall this was a great little B&B for our needs and would probably stay here again when we visit Florence.

Shower wasn't clean upon arrival. I kept the windows closed but room always had Mosquitos in. The windows are so old they don't block any noise from the street making it very hard to sleep and I had earplugs. I don't think a breakfast basket counts as breakfast, ?very poor compared to other b&b's. Check out was a nightmare as the lady spoke no english at all, when it's a central b&b for travellers I don't think this is very good. She had no €5 change for my tax so had to wait for her to get someone to get change.

It's hard to check in cause there is no practically reception in this bed and break fast so at arrival no welcome stood for half an hour to find out how to get in so if you arrived late no chance you get into property ... Other then that stay was great

hotel was nice very clean friendly staff. was about 15 min walk to city shops. nice and clean rooms, changed towels every other day. could of had more coffee pods given each day.....had air con which was nice and cool.......friendly staff, took 15 to 20 minutes to walk to centre....television was abit old fashioned. shower and toilet very very clean. pleasant stay all together. really good price to stay at cassia cssia b and b. good price to stay there.

Amazing stay, but a little far from city centre

The hotel owner did not speak English, however we managed to check in without any problems. Make sure to arrive between 10am to noon as that is when she does check-ins, if not, call the hotel's phone number and she will meet you there within 10 min.

We had the room with the private bathroom (need to request this ahead of time). The AC was excellent, no complaints with the room itself.

The location was a little far, 25 minute walk to the historic centre. The whole neighborhood was under construction, but at the price we paid, we absolutely loved our stay at Bed & Bed Cassia!

Not happy

We went there and there was no one. We called a phone number and a lady answered and said she will be back in 5 mins to let us in the room but she never did. We waited 1hr and 30 mins and no one showed up. We called 4 times and she never answered. The worst part is that the charged our card when when they knew we never stayed there because of them.

I really wound't recommend this room to anyone!

I wouldn't classify this as a B&B, it's a room in an apartment block! The woman who greeted us on arrival was rude, didn't seem 1 bit concerned about any of our questions, just wanted the money from us and then left. The breakfast is a packaged croissant and a bottle of water. Area is not so nice. I really wound't recommend this room to anyone!

lovely place but disappointing bathroom!

A lovely place to stay in a great area right next to the station. clean rooms and friendly staff, the only problem was the shower never had hot water which is a massive inconvenience. it is hard to find someone in charge as they only come at certain points so I was stuck with it.

It's easy to find the place but the property is an old building.we have a hard time with our luggage coz we are in 2ND floor.we need to carry our stuff and its a bit heavy.The room is small..breakfast?it's already in the room,a bread and coffee is in the hallway..nothing exciting but it's fine..

Great for a short break

Hotel was good location, about 25 minute walk from the main attractions. Staff were friendly and very helpful, and the room was very clean and topped up with coffee, water and breakfast things everyday. It is however very loud within the hotel, as doors are thin- the other residents and the cleaners would wake us up early every morning just by opening/closing their doors, or having conversations in the hallway. Other than that it was great value for money, and just what we needed for a short break away.

Unprofessional service and noisy room

Very disappointed with this choice. On our second day we came back to our room to find all our towels (including 2 we brought with us) in a pile on the floor with no fresh towels and no places to take new ones. There was nobody around (around 7pm), no phone number. Needless to say we weren't able to take a shower that evening or the morning after. When we asked the lady managing the place that showed up at the flat (it is a flat not your typical B&B) 5 minutes before we had to go what happened with our towels, she just nod her head and said she doesn't know. No apology or something. Having to take the plane that morning feeling sticky meant we left with a very bad feeling and put a dumper on our stay in Florence. Plus the shared bathroom had no soap or towels to dry your hands so you had to wash them in the room and the room was incredibly noisy since 7am both mornings.

Really good price!!!

Better to call the hotel before check in the hotel, otherwise no staff will be there, and we were just waiting in front of the door, until we met upper floor neighbour who called the B&B for us, then the lady came fast after 5 mins. The location is a bit far from train station, about 15-20 mins walk. But it will be a really good choice for people who wants to save money on accommodation and spend on others.
