We stayed here for 3 days prior to a wedding.
While its not directly \"downtown\" City Center, its an EASY walk to that and thus also not \"downtown\" cost wise and noise wise.

Exit the front door, turn left, when you hit the tran station follow it around the curve and that curved road will lead you right down to the city center, Duomo plaza, from there there are signposts for everything else.

The (outdoor) pool area is surprisingly great for a city center hotel. Very nice courtyard, chairs, small cabanas, a really nice hang.

The gym is small, but if you want to get something done its perfectly serviceable.

We did not eat at the restaurant nor drink at the bar so I cant comment on that.

The breakfast is very nice, completely worth the upgrade in cost.

Hotel staff are amazing, so nice, so helpful.
Taxis are a 5 minute call from the front desk.
Taxis are way better in both availability and cost than Uber in Florence. Forget Uber, just ask the front desk to get you a cab.

Rooms are pretty typical \"Euro Small\" if you are used to US hotels, but as long as you know that going in, you will be fine. If you have never been to Europe before, well it takes a little getting used to, if you are a seasoned European traveller, the room is actually larger than most.

The added upgrade of a Balconey Room was a godsend in space and also the balcony itself was a great place to sit and have a quiet moment.

I'd stay here again in a second.

Nice design, but….This hotel charged me twice for my room and then, at checkout, demanded the keys for a second room that I never booked, never used, and wasn’t even aware of. And of corse, they denied my refund for the room I never reserved or use. Instead of booked premium room I got basic room.

On top of that, the place was dirty, with blood on the floor in bathroom and a broken shower. Staff couldn’t properly communicate in English and offered no solutions or care.

This is not a small mistake, it is fraudulent and negligent behavior. Management must urgently address both the cleanliness and the unethical billing practices. Until then, this property deserves one star only.

Hotel Indigo was a great stay after a long trip to Florence! It was great that is was such a short walk from the train station. We had the most wonderful staff help us from start to our unexpected extended stay. The room was extremely clean and beautiful with a great balcony over the pool, which was also a blessing on such a hot week. To no fault of Hotel Indigo, but it is slightly removed from central area of Florence. Guaranteed if I return to Florence I will be staying here again!

Once you're inside this hotel, it's fine. The room is modern, the bed is comfortable, the restaurant is nice. The problem is outside the hotel. It's located in an unattractive part of town. It's not in the part of town that tourists want to see, it's a 10 minute walk from the picturesque part of town. With many other hotel options avaliable in Florence, many of which are located in the beautiful part of town, I don’t think that I'll ever choose to stay here again.

We loved our stay at this hotel, during our long Italy vacation we stayed here twice. I was so happy to finish my trip at this hotel. It was the cherry on the top of my Italy vacation.
The staff at this hotel is by far the best I have ever met and I want to thank them for being so wonderful. The chef is amazing, his food is delicious as well as a work of art.
The hotel is very clean very modern and extremely stylish as soon as you enter the lobby you get a beautiful scent and they offer delicious water with fruit in it as soon as you walk in from a long day of walking around in Florence. You can also enjoy a cocktail at their beautiful chic bar or you can hang out in their awesome lobby area.
Ladies, the toiletries in the bathroom are very high-quality. You will not need to bring shampoo, body wash, conditioner, or body lotion. Their products are absolutely top-notch. No other hotel in Italy offered even mid-level toiletries, which is important because it’s one less thing we need to pack in our suitcases.

This is a gorgeous hotel with many modern touches. The rooms are beautiful. The hotel lobby is gorgeous. The restaurant is amazing and the bar as well. The food is a culinary experience, my compliments to the chef everything there was amazing.
The staff is so sweet and thoughtful. They brought up a bottle of champagne since I was celebrating my honeymoon. Everyone there is very helpful and kind after staying in two other hotels around Tuscany I was so excited to come back for my second day at this hotel in Florence. It felt like home away from home. Also the products inside of the bathroom are top-notch. The shampoo , conditioner, body wash, and body lotion are so moisturizing. I absolutely loved them! I couldn’t wait to get back to this hotel after a terrible stay at a hotel in Tuscany.

Avoid first floor, otherwise it’s good

overall it was a good stay, however, due to us being in the first floor, the music was very loud from the bar downstairs.
It ends around 1:30am, which is unfortunate for those that are not partying in the bar…

I look forward to visiting Florence again and definitely will not consider booking a room at this property again due to this terrible experience.

The room was disappointing in so many ways. While many rooms and bathrooms were renovated at this property, not all of them were. Unfortunately, I was in a room that was not updated. Cleanliness was a problem in the bathroom; it was not well cleaned or maintained. Many tiles were cracked and broken. There was pink mildew throughout in the shower and the only outlet in the bathroom was non-functioning. Despite using an outlet adapter, the other outlets in the room were loose and the hair dryer repeatedly fell out of the socket.

Worst of all, water was shut off during the last day of my stay without notice from the staff. I returned for an afternoon nap and discovered this when I turned on the faucet to see low water pressure and murky orange-brown water slowly flowing out. (No, I wasn't able to take a shower. Fortunately, I was moving onto another hotel the next day for the next part of my trip!)

Another room was never offered nor made available throughout my stay. I was in the same room the entire time (4 nights) and housekeeping didn't address the cleanliness issues. While the hotel may be busy with a conference being held onsite during that time, that doesn't excuse the poor experience. The property was crowded and noisy, and this created a chaotic atmosphere, not a calming or relaxing experience for a vacation.

There’s a wash and dry launderette 6 minutes walk from hotel with delivery service.
If you get a bottle of wine, need to head down to the bar to open the bottle and get wine glass on your own.

i have mixed feelings about my stay here; its very very close to the train station, so very very easy walking distance between the hotel and the train station. There were lots of convenient resturants and sites......so would rarely require a taxi to go anywhere. My room was safe, but i could hear the next door; so wasn't too quiet. But i got a beautiful view from the balcony.

My family and I stayed 5 nights and 6 days. For the location being walking distance to the train station, restaurants and laundromat, this was ideal. The bed was larger than most queen size bed. Room smelled clean. There was plenty of towels in our bathroom. The complimentary drinks and snacks in our minibar was nice so was the in room coffee and hot water kettle. The water pressure in our shower was nice and strong.
Only a couple negative comments, our safe in our room didn’t work throughout our stay. It couldn’t be replaced because it’s built into the closet. There was some caulking in bathtub needed to be redone. It made the shower walls look old. The female staff in the front desk wasn’t as helpful or friendly when I had asked about extending my stay and the price difference between the search engine vs hotels site. Lastly, it would been helpful if they offered bell service and had our luggage taken to our room. Because we extended our stay for 2 extra days for 2 rooms, it would have been nice if management gave us credit towards the restaurant or bar, something to show some appreciation. Location feels a little dark to be walking in the evening if traveling alone.
