The staff was exceptionally helpful and accommodating. The hotel was quaint and clean. The negatives were not having USB ports in the room for 3 international travelers and one night we had to wait about an hour for hot water to take a shower.

I made a reservation for 2 twin beds. When I arrived at the hotel, the receptionist said it was a queen bed, but I wanted to exchange it for 2 twins. I should have done the upgrade for 30 euros a day for a larger room.
I made the upgrade, but the room was too small, so I doubt that I actually received an upgrade.
The bathroom was very small and old.
The breakfast was excellent, and the location beside the train station was good, but the room was terrible.

Awesome area as it is across the train station which is convenient especially if you have a lot of luggage. It is also at least 20-30mins walk to sights if yoh don’t mind walking. It is also almost at ZTL and helps a lot of making sure you don’t cross the area if you are driving. Highly recommended!

We loved that it was across the street from the train station which was great for arriving and leaving Florence.

Taxis go on strike and you dont know until the day before or day of.

Its the city so surrounding area is a bit dirty but as you walk around its not too bad. We were 15-30mins away walking distance from everything which was great.

The hotel room was warm. The AC was not working.

The breakfast was good here and the staff was extremely nice and helpful

I appreciated the flexibility at check-in. When we returned to check-in (still early 2pm) the room was ready and our luggage was delivered. We didn’t read that check-out was at 11 and wasn’t informed until day of by a phone call from reception. As a hotel employee in the states we stripped the bed and straightened up the room to make it as easy as possible for our housekeeper. I would strongly suggest making people pay an incidental hold for taxes and fees at check-in. We were followed out of the hotel with an inquiry about payment and our one key card as we departed. It was embarrassing and insulting. I’ve never had to physically check-out of a hotel unless it was an early departure. I’ve also worked in the industry for 20 years and travel often.

Had a great stay at c-hotels diplomat in Florence recently! The staff were helpful, and the hotel is surprisingly quiet despite being in a central neighbourhood and close to the train station. There is parking in a lot right next door, though it's a bit expensive this was expected given that it's in a major city. The room was very comfortable and clean. The only major drawback was there was a faint smell of sewage in the lobby that never really went away, but both myself and my partner noted it the whole time. The hotel is located in a very central area, easy to walk to everything.

Room was very very dark. Rate was also expensive. We went to Rome immediately after and stayed at another hotel next to train station as well. It was much much much nicer for same price. Bigger room, better service, breakfast inclusive for the Rome hotel. Will not stay here again next time.

5 STARS AT A GREAT PRICE.

Excellent location near the train station. Also close to the most espectacular and iconic church of florence. Hotel provides elevator which is very appreciated because not many hotels in Florence count with this service. Very clean and modern room, i loved the tub in room with a separate shower. The hotel has an amazing location, just 5mins walk from train station and 15 - 20 mins from the heart of Florence. The room was comfortable and actually very decent size. It was a good choice. We booked this hotel for being VIP Access, too bad it meant nothing, hotel should pay attention because this creates an expectation and not receiving it was a boomer.

I would not suggest anyonev to stay at c-Diplomat Hotel in Florence. Our room was burgled while there. Thieves took the entire safe with all our valuables. People at the front desk were indifferent to our situation.

Horrible hotel firstly there is no air conditioning so the room is stuffy and really hot tried opening the windows but there is a sewage stench so freaking horrible and the hotel is filled with huge mosquitos I have killed at least 10 of it during a 2 night stay…reception is unfriendly and the sound proofing in the hotel sucks you can hear everyone loud and clear…won’t ever recommend this hotel

Hotel was critically short staffed and the employees at the front desk were always rude and unhelpful. We had to go down to the front desk several times over the course of our week long stay to get things that we had run out of such as toilet paper, coffee, etc. because the staff refused to bring those items to our room when requested. The internet was very spotty. Our room was full of mosquitoes because the window had not been closed properly. Overall, we had a miserable time at this hotel, and it ruined Florence for us.

This is a great located hotel, next to the train station and in the heart of Florence's city centre.
The hotel seems to have been recently refurbished. Staff was very accommodating, allowing us to an early check-in. We also got a free upgrade, and we absolutely loved our room! Very spacious, with an incredible view of the Dome and the mountains surrounding Florence. Bed was comfortable as well. We had an amazing stay, would definitely return to the same hotel next visit!! Grazie mile!

I booked the C-Diplomat Hotel, but when I showed up I was told I needed to go around the corner to the Joy Hotel. The Joy Hotel did not seem as nice as the Diplomat Hotel. I booked with a really good deal, so I was okay with what I had for the price. But I do feel like there was a bit of a bait and switch strategy there, and I'm not a fan of such business practices.

I had booked to stay here last week, but I contracted Covid and had to postpone my trip.
Expedia were excellent and would allow me to amend my booking to the new dates, however, the hotel refused and said I’d have to pay the cancellation fee, which was the full amount of my stay.
I understand that I did book a non-cancellation rate, however, I’d have hoped they’d allow me to amend the booking to my new dates at a small fee, but this wasn’t the case.
They did message me later and said they’d give me a special rate for my new dates, but when I asked what the rates would be (and followed up), I didn’t receive any response.

I was disappointed as they could have put my room back on the market and still have my booking for in a few weeks, and I would have happily paid a small fee to do so.

I will be booking elsewhere for my new dates.

Terrible stay. Upon arriving at the hotel, i was told i had been \"relocated\" due to renovations to a different hotel. Im not sure if this was the room upgrade suggested, but the room i received was poor. The bed was uncomfortable, and the room was very old. There was no sound proofing, and i was woken by neighboring people several times (eithet talking, watching tv, or plugging things into the wall). There was an issue with the AC that made the thermostat sound like a morse code machine in the middle of the night, it would click and buzz constantly until the AC was turned off. The walls of the room were also cracked and looked dirty. The wireless internet was also terrible. My laptop and phone struggled to connect and load even a basic website, unless i went to the lobby. The shower was also tiny and only had a combined hair/body wash. By far the most expensive hotel i stayed at in my trip to italy, and by far the most disappointing.

Mostly good, but bathroom has issues.

The place was modern and mostly clean. It was more spacious than the usual Italian hotel. Initial check-in was inconvenient as they surprised us with renovations and booking us with their sister hotel down the street. It was a minor inconvenience, as we were not notified of the changes in advance. However, the sister hotel was just as nice.

My only complaints are related to the bathroom. There is no ventilation or fan, and the bathroom door automatically closes, so expect the bathroom to always be moist after a shower. Also, the shower fixture fell down on my head while operating the knobs. I'm glad it happened to me and not my wife, but that was a major strike to this hotel.

I had to make a last-minute trip to Florence for a meeting. I found this hotel on-line and booked a two-night stay. It is right next to the train station, so not in an attractive area, but I must say it was convenient. At least the San Lorenzo area was close, with a number of good restaurants. The room was very fresh and clean, hot water and air conditioning were perfect. The shower was really great. Overall, I give my stay high marks. The hotel suited my needs very well, and the breakfast was quite adequate.

Convenient location right across the street from the train station. As other reviews have noted, you may get moved between the hotels (e.g., I booked the Diplomat but was asked to check-in at the Ambasciatori). Hotel kindly upgraded me to a suite, though depending on the size of your party, a standard sized room may be preferred. Overall solid stay.

Minimalist design with solid wooden floors, although not so soundproof as claimed, as babies crying could be heard 3 rooms away. Extensive hot breakfast served. Ideal location, across the street from the main railway station. Will gladly rebook in the future.

The hotel is in a very convenient location- right across the train station and a grocery. The sights are all walkable from the hotel- Duomo is about a 10-min away and Ponte Vecchio, a little further down. I’d stay here again if only for this. But service is also tops and the breakfast spread is good too so I’ll definitely choose this hotel again next time we visit Florence

I stayed for 2 nights and checked in late the first day and gave me a really strange room, not a hotel but a hostel. When I told them that I didn't like it, I changed it to a better room. Thank you for changing it, but I can't believe there's another room in one hotel. Anyway, the previous room was the worst and I liked the changed room.

Great location, next to the train station/bus station and in walking distance to many attractions. Nice hotel. Like smell inside the hotel, feel relax. Should have facial tissue, it is one of basic amenities.
Everything is almost perfect but unexpected find one of unfavorable insect in the room. I guess the hotel did something so didn’t find it on the second night. The hotel offered room change but it wasn’t convenient to pack and unpack. Hope the hotel pays more attention on this issue in the future.

What I love the most from this hotel is the proximity to Firenze SMN railway station, it's just on the opposite side if you exit from the right-hand side. And then buses and tram is just across the corner, make it so convenient to go to many places. The room is nice too, bed and pillows are really comfortable, room is very clean, bathroom is in good size too. Would be happy to come back here if I visit Florence again.

WiFi reception was awful. Spent majority of time on own mobile data. Room was supposed to come with kettle and teas/coffee. Took us an hour and half to have one delivered to the room, then another half hour for milk to arrive! Only to be told by the reception that milk isn’t usually supplied! It seems a real job in Italy to get a kettle in your room. A basic necessity in my eyes.

Very functional room, bed was comfortable and thankfully they had air conditioning which was absent in the Milan hotels. Quite some mozzies in room though, not sure if it is due to the weather as there were also mozzies in out Milan hotel. Great location wld stay again :)

The hotel says it has sound proofed rooms but this was not the case. I could hear my neighbour upstairs walking around their room and next door and people in the hallway talking (at a normal speaking volume). It's located beside the train and tram stations so the area is noisy. The staff were lovely and moved me to a room at the back after the first night when I was woken by works on the street at 6am. But none of the rooms are sound proofed - the noise from nearby rooms continued. The desk in the room was also pretty dusty - not sure how thorough the cleaning was. The location is great though.
