The name is a misnomer: we saw no garden. The 5 rooms occupy the ground floor of an old bldg. 10 mins' walk fr Santa Maria Novella station. Our room was clean, sheets were fresh, and we. The shower worked but has a flimsy water-control handle that felt like it might come off

The location was inconvenient.

The wall air conditioning unit was unable to generate cold air, so we used it as a fan and opened the window at night.

There was no soap in the bathroom.
Three lightbulbs were missing (two by the bed and one in the bathroom).

This place has potential to be nice. It was clean.

It was clean. No set reception so if you need anything you are on your own. No baggge hold since there is no reception. It is just renting a room. WiFi did not work. Really bad WiFi. But overall good for just a sleep and head out to sightsee. Sightseeing is a 10-15 min walk.

The room was clean. Check in was easy, after messaging with the hotel when we would arrive. But you could hear every door open loudly and people talking in the other rooms. It was good for a couple nights.

This was a lovely spot to stay. It was clean and comfortable and had all that we needed. You can tell the property is taken care of well.

It’s near the train station but a bit of a walk from the heart of the city. Still walkable for us but was about 20 minutes to get to the city centre which was about as far out as we’d want to go.

Horrible experience!!!
There’s mold in the ceiling of the bathroom and even in the room - looks like just painted the ceiling.

Send email to the staff to move us to another room as I was experiencing severe allergic reactions to the moulds and problem breathing.

No response from the staff, just send somebody who can’t speak English and collect the tax for the other room.

I need a refund.

Avoid this hotel at all cost.

The room was clean and modern inside. Area is about 25-30 minutes walking to anything (food, activities, shopping, etc.) and loud has there is no insulation to help with outside noises or other guests. Staff was friendly but there’s no 24 hour front desk which they do disclose in description. Out AC went out night 2 so we had to sleep with windows open as the building itself is stuffy and humid

My bathroom was clean but the door was so hard to close because it is sagging and creating so much friction with the floor. Also, the shower drain is partially clogged so the water is pooling on the shower pan. This facility doesn’t refresh your room daily.

Nice rooms near SMN - watch for checkin note

The room was spotless, roomy, and recently updated. AC worked well. The staff went out of the way to help us. I didn’t get their message asking for our arrival info (technical issue with internet service on our cruise ship) so arrival was a bit rocky. There was no sign pointing to reception so we were standing out on the street trying to message them until another guest pointed us in the right direction. At reception, a kind, service-oriented housekeeping staff member stored our bags and got us checked in so all ended well and our rooms were great.

it was far from everything, The garden at the El Roy was not like it looked on Expeida. The rooms were clean, but I had to ask for more towels and toilet paper. There was someone to greet us but other people arriving there no one to greet them and they did not know where to go for info. I would not recomend this one , maybe for students

We really enjoyed our time! Everything was clean, it was nice having coffee and extra blankets in the room, and we appreciated having enough shampoo provided for all three of us. The woman that checked us in was cheerful and explained everything thoroughly. The patio area that we had access to was quite nice as well. If we come back to Florence we will definitely keep this in mind as a place to stay for the future.

For our group this was just a quick stopover before taking the train early in the morning to Monterosso. The train station was walkable. The rooms were basic. If we were in Florence to enjoy the town for a few days this is not what we would consider.

The only decent thing is the room. The building is awful and creepy. At night looks like an scenary from a horror movie. The staff, well there is no staff or front desk. The pictures in Expedia are misleading people showing gardens that are not accessible or don't exist. Going out a night is challenging because there are people that look dangerous in the surrounding areas.

Our stay at El Roy Garden rooms was interesting to put it into one word. When we got there, the directions took us to a completely different building, and there was nobody there to check us in. I then called and then somebody came. However what I cared about most was the area, it was just my boyfriend and I staying here, and this hotel was in a pretty unsafe area, which made me uneasy. The man who cleaned was very nice and made sure to smile as we passed and such, and made sure our room was clean. Personally, as a young girl, I would stay somewhere else due to safety, but if this isn’t a concern for you then you will be fine.

The property was a budget-friendly renovated rental, but there were several issues during our stay. The address provided was not accurate, and we had to wait under the hot sun for 20 minutes for someone to arrive and open the door. Unfortunately, the person assisting us didn’t speak English or French, so all communication had to be done via WhatsApp.

Inside the room, both the AC and fridge were leaking, and we had to mop the floor and dry the walls every evening upon our return. Towels were not changed on the morning of our second day, and the property had many stairs, which may be challenging for some guests.

Overall, considering the conditions, it did not feel like good value for the price we paid for three nights.

They were super accomodative with everything including sending someone to check me in early when I arrived in the morning and was expecting to have to wait. I can tell my room was newly remodeled as everything was new such as the bathroom, ac, mini-fridge, and bed. Definitely a great place to stay if you're traveling early from SMN as it's a 10-minute straight shot walk.

El Roy Gardens was a very convenient, clean place to stay for your visit to Florence. It's proximity to the train station is a big plus. Lovely Location but Some Issues with Check-in and

We recently stayed at this accommodation, which is located in a great spot—just a 15-minute walk to the city centre, making it easy to explore the local sights on foot. On arrival, we were a bit early but were kindly allowed to wait in a lovely little courtyard, which was a nice touch.

However, check-in was a bit confusing. We paid for the room upon arrival, but then the receptionist came to our room later to collect the city tax—despite initially telling us we could leave it in cash at the desk. In the end, we paid the tax by card. Shortly after, they returned again to ask for our passports. It would have been more efficient and less disruptive if all of these details were handled at check-in.

Our room itself was bright and spacious, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, there was noticeable mould in the bathroom, which was disappointing and should have been addressed before the room was made available to guests.

We briefly spoke to someone we believe was the owner over the phone, but she wasn’t present during most of our stay. Instead, one man appeared to be managing everything—from checking guests in to cleaning rooms—which may explain some of the disorganisation.

Overall, while the location and space were great, the check-in process and cleanliness left room for improvement. With a few adjustments, this could be a much more pleasant experience for future guests.

The location is close to train station, we walked to everywhere 15-25mins to and attractions. Staff is very helpful and responsive. Room#1 is near to the main door to the building, we heard a lot of the door slam early in the morning.

Had everything we needed, spare blankets duvets and pillows, plenty of towels and some toiletries in the room. Wifi and gair dryer and was a level walk into the centre of town down a well lit street. Tram also stopped close by. Very clean and comfortable, no hesitation to reccommend.

Poor communication from staff resulted in difficulty and lengthy checking in. No servicing of room between our 2 night stay, only given 1 bottle of water, 2 teabags, no milk in room. No milk at coffee station in reception area.

Wir haben uns selbst eingecheckt, hatten während dem Aufenthalt nur via E-Mail uns Whatsapp mit dem Vermieter kommuniziert.
Das Zimmer war im 1. Stock, sauber, erreichbar über eine Treppe (kein Lift). Es ist extrem hellhörig, man hört jedes Wort aus den anderen Zimmern. In der ersten Nacht waren andere Gäste mit einem lauten Hund anwesend, schlafen war nur mit ohropax möglich.

Excelente ubicación. Muy muy cerca de la estación de trenes y a unos 15 min caminando del centro.

El anfitrión fue amable. No hay una recepción física pero se comunican contigo antes de tu llegada y cuando llegas ya hay alguien esperándote con las llaves del alojamiento.

Tienes que pagar el city tax en efectivo.
