It’s a busy but convenient location. There are bakeries and restaurants close by, the metro is across the street and a bike share station is around the corner. Plus the channel is nice to walk along. The staff were friendly enough. I arrived before check in and my room was ready to go so they let me in without an extra charge. No complaints on cleanliness but the rooms are a bit dated for sure. Walls are a bit thin so you hear your neighbours. My only real complaint is the wifi was terrible in the room and would barely connect.

The noise from the railway line over the road and constant sirens going off were not helped by the single pane glass. Sleep was difficult.
The concierge was very friendly and helpful as was the night time chap on the desk.
Room is very old fashioned but was clean and tidy. Only one electrical socket a ails me. Shower was hand held in the bath but the water was nice and hot.

It was great for both airport CDG (50min in total including a 2 stop on metro) & tourists spots (approximately 30-5 on metro to Eiffel Tower etc) metro is literally across the road, very convenient. Hotel is really dated. Staff were great. Hot water, great. Room was warm in the night. We only slept there, but I’d probably stay again for the price & travelling. Overall, we had a comfortable stay

Budget hotel if you're willing to sacrifice

I happened to be in Paris at what felt to be the most expensive time where hotels I normally stay at, costed 2x or more. It was absolutely ridiculous to find a room at a reasonable price, so I stayed here just to be in the city area.

Location: It's conveniently located by a couple train stations and there is lots of good food options near by. This was part of the reason I chose this hotel.

Facility: It's definitely old and feels it. You can tell from pictures from others what the rooms are like but they're very small. Unfortunate for me, there was a heat wave in Paris and there is no air condition so I had to leave the windows open, However, this is in a pretty noisy area, so sleeping was not great.

Needless to say, I won't be staying here again.

We stayed n this hotel for one night on return from Disneyland Paris before catching a train to Italy - it is older but very clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly. I wanted a close to transport inexpensive place to stay for a night and this place was perfect for that. McDonald’s is right next door and there is a carrefour(small grocery Store) across the street so we could grab what we needed and get to bed.

unique property, excellent location right near the metro station so easy access to any points. lots of bars and restaurants near the hotel. only quite a bit of noise due to the metro BUT not a problem as we slept through fine. hotel staff kind and friendly. you do need to hand your key in anytime you leave so bare that in mind. overall 9/10 stay!

I stayed in this hotel 5 nights last October, i just needed a place to crash while taking care of business and i did enjoy the stay at this hotel, rooms were priced just right, a metro station just a across the street will take me to the downtown center of Paris in just a few minutes, and other metro stations are close by,
staff was helpful and friendly, rooms and shower were cleaned every day, got clean towels everyday, when you leave the premises you need to leave the keys at the front desk and pick them up when you going back to your room, i had no problem with that at all, i think it was Safer to leave the keys at the front desk, i will try to book my stay at this place next time i go to Paris.
if you want a hotel that is up to date and close to all the tourist spots amenities you are going to pay way more money, but if you are traveling on a budget this is the right place.

The noise from the street made it hard for me to get much sleep, even with a 5th floor room. That was too bad, as otherwise, the hotel was great. The staff was friendly and helpful, the bed was comfortable, the included breakfast was fine, the location so close to a metro was great, the bathroom was fine, and the price was good. The elevator was temperamental, but it was better than no elevator. Note that the reception desk and elevator are on the second floor, so there are still steps that are unavoidable.

I stayed for four nights. It was really close to a major metro line, making it very easy to explore the rest of Paris. The rooms were based on keys so every time I entered an exited the hotel I simply left my key at the front desk and picked it up, and they checked my name every time so I wasn’t worried about someone else coming into my room. However, it was a smaller, potentially older building in the middle of the city and being so close to the metro line it was very loud, the walls were really thin too, so I could very clearly hear everything that was happening anytime my neighbors would enter or exit their rooms throughout the day. I also wish that there had been a do not disturb sign there was none available and there was a day where one of the cleaning ladies walked in on me because I happened to be there in the middle of the afternoon.

The hotel is nice, but the lift (from the first floor, you have to walk up a flight of stairs to get to reception) is small and may possibly be a bit scary for some. The Metro station is convenient but it's a bit noisy, so I'd recommend earplugs. The room is basic but fine as a base of holiday operations.

Breakfast was half a baguette (butter and jam), a croissant, juice and tea/coffee. Filling but not a lot more. There is a microwave for residents to use in the dining room.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. Nothing fancy. Lots of eateries and a supermarket round the corner.

Very Basic hotel with no frills

Building was old and room very old. It was really a basic hotel with no frills. Hotels in Paris are expensive so you really get what you pay for. The wifi was horrible. You can only log onto one device. Breakfast for 6 Euros not worth it, you are better off eating out. The bathroom was the worst with horrible tiles and black caulking, looked like dirt to me. The surrounding area is not the best, dirty and lots of questionable characters in the night but loads of stores and eating places. It's also next to the metro so a plus. However, the noise from the trains and police cars was very loud and at times off putting since I had to open the windows as there is no A/C. Overall if you are looking for a basic hotel to just lay your head and keep your belongings, which was my goal as I was out all day, then not a bad place. This is not a place I would like to stay at again though due to the area and hotel condition when next I visit Paris.

Arrived at night by metro. Not the safest neighborhood at night. Very loud from the room. Room facilities were below par. Not for families or couples- probably a good place for single guys. I had trouble sleeping as its located right infront of metro and you literally hear sound whole night as you have to open windows as it has no AC or fans .

Great Budget Hotel in Paris

This is a great hotel if you need a place to stay in Paris and are put off by the high prices.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. I thought the road noise would be a lot worse, I hardly heard it.

Being so close to the subway station was huge, there are 3 lines you can access which can take you anywhere in the city. One stop over accesses even more lines.

There is plenty to eat around the hotel, and a nice minimart if you need sodas or water.

Distance to downtown Paris was about 20-30 minutes, but for the price paid, it was worth it.

The staff is friendly and most speak English well so the English speaking tourist will feel welcome here.

Felt very comfortable. Great location. Metro station across the street and grocery stores, boulangeries, restaurants, and more within a block walk. Radiator kept room warm in the winter ( didn’t notice an a/c ) breakfast was simple but filling. ( Took the half baguette with me to snack on during the day.) room was kept super clean. Even in February, I couldn’t resist sitting on the balcony with the amazing views of the city-especially the Basilica of Sacré Coeur. 21 steps to the check in desk, but a lift to the other floors. (Thank goodness or else 126 steps to my room). Summer would be a different experience with no a/c and the elevated metro across the street.

This hotel is in a great location (it has a reputation but it's fine) and the staff are lovely. It's a classic Parisien hotel: massive key, creaky lift, small room. It's all you need to explore the city, at least in the winter, when it's not unbearably hot. I didn't have the breakfast but it felt like a good price, lots of stuff to do in every direction.

Please note this property doesnt have air conditioning in the rooms! When booking this hotel I didnt realise this (despite using the filters specifically for air con hotels) and it was impossible to sleep in the 30 - 40 degree celsius weather. Especially since it was such a compact room.
It was also incredibly loud due to the station being right outside, and due to being next to one of the main roads. We heard ambulances at all hours of the night making it really difficult to get any sleep.

The staff seemed friendly enough, despite speaking limited english, and gave us extra towels when we asked for them with no issue. We did therefore feel bad about having to leave. However we just couldnt stay there for 3 whole nights given all the issues - our sleep would be completely shot.

this is an old-style hotel, complete with the tiny elevator that groans (and works perfectly!), giant keys that you leave at the desk when you leave the hotel and a sun/dining room where you can have a continental breakfast or sit and enjoy the view of the bustling neighbourhood of La Villette. the room is very small with a single window, an adequate bathroom and it has enough storage space to hang/shelve your clothes. the towels are nice, the bed and linens are comfortable. the street is VERY noisy and there is no airconditioning, so if it is hot, it is VERY hot in the room if you don't open the window, and just hot if you do. there were no fans offered, but we didn't ask, either (and probably should have). some of the floors need some love--the paint is chipped and the carpet is old, although the 6th floor was nice.

I visited because I entered the Paris Marathon and also wanted to visit historical sites. Their specific town Argenteuil was an ideal location because it was near the Olympic marathon course of 1924, which I wanted to visit, as well near where Monet painted the bridge. The staff was courteous, they had a hot water kettle in the room with which I could make coffee, they allowed me with a prorated rate to check out late, offered free of charge to check out on time and leave my stuff in the car, and even gave me a grace period when I had an Uber snafu getting back.

Our room was comfortable and clean, with a balcony and view to Sacre Coer and Tour Eiffel. Delighted. Next to Metro, so easy to get about. Nice pastry shop and places to eat and drink nearby. Very clean, simple room. Concierge was very friendly and spoke English well (helped us figure out metro, etc.). Relatively safe area with what looked like a couple good bars/restaurants. Best part was metro convience! Was a little far (30 min metro ride) to all the tourist sites but always really easy to get to. A great find and great stay for the price paid. Breakfast Inclused was a crossiant, baguette, orange juice, tea/coffee, great bonus and enough to sustain my always hungry husband till lunch!! Initially brushed off bc blurry photos, would recommend to anyone traveling to Paris on a budget!

The hotel is older and outdated. it is right next to a busy street and above-ground metro track, so it is very loud, especially if you have the window open (we had to because it was hot and we were on the 7th floor with no AC). While the room and noise weren’t great, the staff was awesome. They came to clean every day and offered us breakfast every morning. Staff is very friendly. Not a bad place on a budget if you don’t mind city noise.

Then you can use a elevator that reminds of some horror movie. It really mentioned inside the elevator itself “Please don’t move during ascent or decent of the lift/elevator”. The nightmare continued after that as well. We were forced to stay in a room with beg bugs and mosquitoes. There is no fan or AC. If you open the window the room will be flooded with noises from the street. We asked the lady at the reception to provide as partial refund as we wanted to move to another clean accommodation next day. We booked the “non refundable” one but we are just expecting clean and safe room to stay. So we requested the same. The lady rudely said no. It felt like they are are doing us a favour by letting us stay there. The room looked shabby with a smallest washroom. There are no shower curtains. Basically the washroom is filled with water once you take bath. Also not sure why we needed to leave our keys everything we leave the property.

Busy Jaurès area and great for watching the city buzz. Sit by the canals in the evening. Great local hotel and easy to find next to McD's.

Noice level of front facing rooms

If you are assigned a room that is facing the Jaures Station, you will hear the clatter of the train coming and going all through the night. You will also hear the cars, buses, trucks and emergency vehicles that travel parallel to the train track. There is also a busy public sidewalk where I was could hear some of he voices of some rudely people coming and going.
My room had double pane windows and that did not help. I also carry ear plugs while traveling and that did not help. There was few moments when it was almost silent but overall no. This is why I am forced to rate this hotel so low.
If I was given assigned a room on the side or back of the hotel, my review would be higher. Jaures Station was within throwing distance from my window.
The hotel is located in a working class neighborhood and does not cater to tourist. If you want to interact with the locals, you must speak French. There are professional and dodgy type characters in the area so choose who you interact with carefully.
Along with the subway stop, there are lots nearby stores and restaurants. It is too bad that the hotel does have a refrigerator in the room, you could save a lot a money.
The Jaures station was great. I was able to reach all of the popular spots in the city. However, the people in encounter in the information booth only spoke French. So if you need help, please have a map handle.
No, I will not go back to this hotel.
