Convenient location — the hotel is within walking distance of Gare du Nord train station, making it very easy to access trains and public transportation. There isn’t much to do in the immediate area, but it’s a great hotel for a short stay or if you need quick access to transportation. The room was clean, big and comfortable.

The staff were lovely, from the helpful and thorough check-in I got to the faultless housekeeping every day to the breakfast staff. My room was amazing - nice and quiet thanks to being on the side away from the road, and while not spotless (marked paint in a few places, a sink that's continously stained because it doesn't drain perfectly) it was a great environment.

Great location! Plusses: very quiet despite active hotel and noisy neighborhood. Plenty of good lighting. Comfortable bed and linens. Nice attention to details: Good storage with hangars and room hooks, bathroom mirror has a section that doesn’t steam up.
Staff quickly fixed the one item not working in our room.
Shout out to the breakfast manager who was very welcoming and attentive and pitched in to help his staff. Also to the barman who was a consistently efficient, professional and knowledgeable.

The staff at NH Hotel Gare de l'Est were incredible - welcoming, friendly, incredibly helpful and attentive. I cannot speak more highly of them. I purchased the on-site breakfast package, and I'm so glad I did! Im addition to the food being varied, beautifully displayed, amd good, the staff in the breakfast dining area were so friendly, and cheerful and helpful! They remembered me by name each day and made me feel so welcome.

Great location opposite Gare de l'est and a 10minute walk to Gare du Nord. Quite a small room but that's to be expected in central Paris and it was modern, comfortable and with air con. Only marking down as some of the hotel was being renovated at the time so some noise and mess but once that's finished I'd definitely stay there again.

We booked here because it is across the street from the Gare de l'Est, from which we were taking an early train the next day. The desk staff were friendly and efficient, the room was spacious, immaculate and well equipped, and the hotel's front door is 100 feet from a metro station, with places close by to eat. The hotel was undergoing interior renovations on the lower floor, but the staff took pains to contain the noise and the dust. Everything was clean and we could hear no noise in our room. Checkout was easy. I would stay here again.

Horrible experience! AC was not working for the entire building, our room was above 80 degrees and they provided no solution. They lied about the AC working and then tried to come up with excuses promising that it would be fixed the next day. The next day never came, we barely slept.

Amazing hotel in the 10th district, across from the Gare de L'Est and about 500 meters from the Gare du Nord. Our room was the cleanest, newest room I've ever stayed in. Got my own balcony and zero noise! I didn't get a chance to try the breakfast because I left too early, but I'm sure it must have been up to par. The staff was incredible! French or English, no problem! If you're coming in via the Eurostar (Gare du Nord), and have to take an early train, this is a great choice.

Booked this hotel to be convenient for Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est - it's certainly convenient for the latter!

Hotel was undergoing renovation when we were there (May 2025). You were aware of it but there was no major inconvenience apart from a bit of noise during the day.

The rooms are comfortable but quite small - typical for hotels in central Paris.

We really liked the area around the hotel - 10th Arrondissement - towards Canal Saint Martin. Plenty of restaurants and bars full of locals (and a few tourists!).

You can probably find a cheaper hotel if you look but overall good location and not bad value.

I thought the service was poor and condition was as well. Half the power in room didn’t work. Reported the first and second day of stay and no record of it. Nothing done until last night we were were offered a free breakfast.
Windows blew open every night- even when securely locked- not very safe.
Needs attention and proper repairs.
Would not recommend.

Excellent hotel, staff very friendly and rooms very clean and well maintained - the only reason I haven't given 5 stars is because of the noise at night - this kept me awake the first night as we were facing the train station and windows are not double glazed so constant buses through the night and there is a homeless problem round the train station, this however would not deter me from staying at this hotel as metro and train links very useful and we dield enjoy our stay - it is just like anywhere in Paris - you have to be extra vigilant - And take earplugs!

My initial room did not have any windows, just a skylight and it felt like living in a box literally. I asked for a change of room, but I found out the light of the new one did not work , so I have to ask for a room that really worked. The manager on duty took over and reassigned another one, which was much better than I expected. I truly saluted to the manager as she was customer centric, patient and professional. She has the magic that turns lemon into lemonade. When I checked out 2 days later, she made sure my stay was satisfactory and happy. She represented the gold standard of client service. I was impressed by her professionalism and a strong sense of commitment to client engagement and service. I like to express my gratitude and appreciation for her excellent service. I strongly recommend the senior management of NH hotel to talk to her and ask her to share her best practices. I have been staying with NH hotels around Europe at least 3 times before, but this one was the best and I would say this is one of my best experiences in my frequent travel. At the very least I would like to recognize this amazing manager for her excellent services. Please send my gratitude and appreciation to her. Once again, thank you! I am looking forward to seeing her in my near future in Paris as I will definitely stay this hotel next time in Paris, which will be soon. A job well done and you deserve a salute !

This hotel was very disappointing for an NH hotel - not the standard you would expect. The hotel appeared to be under renovation everywhere you looked, from duck tape on walls and surfaces to shabby stains in the bathroom, bedroom and communal areas. Would not stay here again.

NH is in the High rates per night. However they are not renewing the bottles of water nor coffee after the first day. We stayed 4 days and where told that they charge if we want some more... we found this a bit cheap to say the least..for a hotel of that cetegory !
On the good sides, personnnel was top notch and room very clean and the subway was litterally at the front door

My room was really small. However, it was just me, so that wasn't a big deal. The room was on the 8th floor, which was really cold at night. The heat had only three levels, and the highest level didn't do anything but make noise. I needed an extra blanket to survive

It’s a great hotel, but it’s currently being renovated so the main exit is via a fire exit which means climbing stairs - which isn’t easy while tugging around luggage. Also one of the lifts was out of order, which meant relying on one lift for all customers and staff to use so wasn’t exactly the quickest. The sink in my parent’s room was filthy as well. I have no complaints about my room

Entrance and exit problems.

The main problem was that the entrance level was being re-constructed, and the lifts were not generally availlable at this level. As we are seniors a door was unlocked for us and there was a lift up to Floor 1, were there was a temporary and very crowded Front Desk. The check-in took a long time as the staff did not seem to recognise my husbands Cartre de Sejour. The rooms were clean and the staff up to their usual good standards, as was the breakfast area. I wish we had known about the building work and chosen another hotel more suited to our needs, as the pricing was too high considering the problems at the entrance level. We have frequently stayed at this hotel, but this time it was frustrating.

Disappointing NH experience

We were not informed by Hotels.com that the hotel is under construction. Definitely not up to NH experience or standard. We knew it was previously a Holiday Inn but was branded as a NH, very disappointing. Things like very poor drainage in the shower, bathroom door is extremely heavy & difficult to open. The room was too small, almost no room to walk around the bed.

I will probably stay here again when I stay in Paris. The location has some major benefits such as across the street from Gare de l'Est but also within walking distance of Gare du Nord. Being near the train station you get some sketchy individuals but I never felt unsafe. The hotel has security which is great and the front desk staff is very helpful and professional. A major bonus is the Metro station Gare de L'Est is right outside the hotel and is a larger metro station with many lines running through it so getting to the the other side of the city in any direction is easy. The hotel room was spacious especially for Europe and the bedding superb. For the price I paid it was an amazing deal. The rooms I feel are well insulated from noise, I didn't feel like the hotel was loud at all.

In the bathroom is terrible. The carpet is dated and old. The shower door is a poor fit so you have to use a towel to clean up the water.

5km walk to Eiffel Tower & Arc de Triomphe, 2km walk to Notre Dame & Louvre. 1km walk to Basilique de Sacre-Coeur de Montmartre. Lots of nice dinner options within a 5 minute walk. Our room was a bit 'tired' (old bathroom fixtures, lots of silicone). A leaking washbasin pipe was fixed within half an hour; very responsive staff. The beds were so comfortable!
