This hotel is across the street from train station Gare de L’Est and has a metro stop outside its door with 3 useful lines, many inexpensive eateries nearby & in train station. Room was very clean, bed & pillows very comfortable. I paid extra for breakfast, even with limited selection it was very enjoyable & filling - I ate slice of ham, swiss cheese, yogurt, orange juice, mini chocolate & plain crossants, hard boiled eggs, coffee machine; there was also fruit cocktail, soft cheese, and 2 cereals with milk to choose from. Only negatives were tiny shower in single room option, and no english-speaking channels on TV. Took train from CDG airport to Gare du Nord, easy 5 minute walk to Gare de L’Est & my hotel if you take Ave Magenta exit door when you leave Gare du Nord. Overall I would tend to choose this hotel again for my next visit to Paris!

Very nice hotel, typical of what one would expect in Paris. Service was friendly at every interaction. The room has no air conditioning which meant opening the windows and tolerating the busy and noisy street action including police sirens. Location is great just across the street from Gare de l'est but that comes with the noise. Breakfast is good but not great. All told, I would stay there again.

Our stay here was great. The room was clean and we had fresh towels every day. There is no air conditioning but we stayed here in October so it wasn't too hot and there was a fan in the room. The area around the hotel pretty noisy and busy even late at night but with the windows closed and fan on the sounds didn't bother us. Really convenient location to transportation - metro right outside and Gare du Nord just a few minutes walk away if you're taking the Eurostar. Staff was really friendly and held our bags for a few hours after we checked out.

Perfect stay in Paris at main train station

This is a very cute hotel a short walk from the Gare de Est main train station in Paris. Lots of great places to eat right there and easy to hop on Metro to get around to all the great spots in Paris. Our room was clean the beds comfortable the bathroom was immaculate. I will stay again on my next trip to Paris.

Nice location next to Gare de l'Est Station.The recepten guy who checked me in was nice. The room itself is very basic but sufficient.The shower was very small and raised about one step which means if you take a shower, the water will definitely flow to the floor.Other guy at the reception told me there was a leakage because of that and I need to be careful when taking a shower not to do it again. He spoke to me in respectable but rather unfriendly way. Luckily it was only one night. So, I didn't have a shower again to avoid any trouble.

Convenient Location but Way Overpriced

I guess you're paying for the convenience of being right next to the station because that's all the good you get. The floors are uneven and squeaky and there's a motion sensor light in the room that comes on any time anyone moves so everyone in the room gets woken up any time someone moves in the night. Glad we only stayed there one night.

Terrible. The desk staff was c very rude. No welcome or anything else. Gave us room no34 which was dirty not even cleaned . Had to wait for cleaning staff to come & clean. Ask for directions the desk man was rude. This hotel is very noisy place. Room no 34 has broken windows doesn’t close. All night time it’s very hard to sleep because of people screaming. Don’t waiste your money to stay here.

Has everything you need!

Fine for the price! A quite outdated room but cheap and had all of the essentials. Stayed here to be close to the train station for further travel the following day. Decent neighborhood, close to Le Marais and the Jewish Quarter, both of which are nice to walk around.

Recepit stated room with city view but got one with side view of another building; fan was old and noisy when on rotation and shower head was broken; room was clean so we put a do not disturb sign to keep valuables safe but they still came in to tidy it; free breakfast was ok but a rude attendance selectively ask us our room number among guests on the second day of our stay

Well that was a miss. No refrigerator. 2nd night was twice as much as first night and wasn't worth the 64 euro, much less 126 euro. A 2 star hotel with inflated reviews on hotel.com (hmmm?). Very old, no amenities, not ventilated well (so very hot). Not enough or convenient electric outlets. Shower the right size for a child. Folding bathroom door meant very little privacy. Just a big YUCK overall of a hotel.

This hotel is good for those who are on a budget. It has convenient location and good price. Everything is beside. Everyone was helpful and friendly. I would like to note Farid - a very good person from the staff who would do anything to make you feel happy and enjoy your stay at the property.
I booked the room with breakfast but upon arrival they told that breakfast is for extra charge. Only the confirmation email from the website proved that breakfast is included and everything was fixed.

Decent quality for a two star rated hotel. Clean and tidy, comfortable bed. Good location for the railway stations and for getting around the city.
The surrounding area is busy, still a lot of people around at 3.00 in the morning. Like any major city, you need to be alert but we didn't have any problems.
Would definitely use again for a lads trip.

I rate this hotel as 1 star plus. Other than the advantage of its location (close to TGV, Bus stops and surrounding market), nothing is special about hotel, staff and its facilities. Breakfast is bare minimum and Internet is zero in the rooms.

The hotels locations is very convenient however it's short on amenities. The room was clean but one closet smelled so much like mildew we didn't use it. The small fridge never got cold in the three days we stayed. There was no A/C instead the room had a rotating fan that was very noisy. The street noise was so loud that we often had to close the window at night which made the room very hot. They used so much bleach on the bed linen that my wife broke out in hives.

Great, but...

Was pleased to find \"big\" rooms where we could lay flat and open all our lugages.
Really close to the subway. Was able to find a parking spot in a lot just one block away (via the ZenPark app).
Tiny elevator.
But, one of the room we were in had some bedbugs (big and small) {noticed it when waking up at 3am and saw 4 or 5 tiny dots moving behind the cushion} Crushed one with the bed sheet and made a bloody mess. (btw, the sheet was not changed the next day, the other days either). I checked the mattress, no sign of anything...
Slept with the lights on.

Nothing fancy, but the staff was friendly and the room was just fine. The hotel is old and shows it's age a little. It does not have air conditioning and Paris was in the middle of a heat wave, but they did have a fan in the room so it wasn't unbearable. We felt that for the price it was a good deal. It is right on a metro stop, so that is also a plus.

the check in was efficient. the room met the basic needs. nothing pretty. very close to train station & i had a cool view of the train station from my balcony. walkable to desirable locations but not too close. the maid annoyed me by constantly banging on my door to get in my room. i find maids so aggressive and annoying! they need to have a \"do not disturb\" door sign for patrons so they don't have to be bothered by the maid.

Don't judge a book by its cover

This hotel is MUCH better than it looks when you arrive. And I think it deserves to be a 3 star. It's basic yes but SO SO immaculately clean I was really impressed. Reception staff are nice in a kind of a cold, shy way. And they are on duty 24 hours. No one enters the hotel without identification and no one leaves without leaving the key at the reception, therefore I felt very safe. My room to the back of the hotel was incredibly quiet. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

The hotel is just in front of the Gare de l'Est train station and metro, very convenient to travel to travel around Paris and france. It is also 10 minutes walking distance to Gare du Nord to get on to Eurostar. It is in a safe neighbourhood too. The room is small but not too small. It is clean and comfortable. It maybe a bit hot but then opening the window solved the problem. The hotel has elevator, so there is no problem with luggage.

Convenient and clean

The staff were friendly at this hotel and it is very well located, being right next to the Gare de l'Est - there is a Metro exit right outside the front door, so assuming you can work out which exit to take on arrival, it is perfect. There are lots of cafés, fast food restaurants and it is just a hop and a skip from the Gare du Nord.
The bedroom was comfortable, clean and thankfully there was a fan, which was a blessed relief in the 32C+ heat of a Paris summer.

I would whole-heartily recommend this hotel and I would definitely stay here again

The location to public transportation could not be beat. Within a block of the front door there was a train station, metro station, and bus stop. If you are looking for a place just to crash while seeing Paris for the price and access to transportation this place is great. It is what I have found to be typical accommodations in this price range in Europe.

This hotel is steps from the Metro, just 1 metro stop from the RER that takes you to the airport, and close to a bunch of bus stops. If anyone local wants to know where you're staying, just tell them Gare de l'Est and they know exactly where you are. The staff was very friendly and there is a lift (max 2 people). My traveling companion told me repeatedly \"wow, you did a really great job picking this hotel.\" They will happily keep luggage for you before you check in or after you check out. ATM's literally next door; nearby bakery; pharmacy; and Monop' (small version of a Monoprix grocery), as well as a couple of passable restaurants. Free Wi-Fi (get a login code at the desk); mini-fridge, armoire, and safe in the room.

Rooms are surprisingly large for a budget hotel and the windows did an excellent job blocking the noise at night. (Do bring a washcloth.) Towels are replaced every day; sheets are not. Soap, shampoo, etc. provided. Breakfast is priced reasonably for the area, though you can find it cheaper elsewhere. If you want to go out and are coming back late, just ring the bell and they'll let you in.

The park in front of the station itself is a little questionable, but you're just a few blocks from the Canal St. Martin (walk away from the station and then cross over; neighborhood is better).

Bare Bones Stopover Hotel

Used this hotel to overnight as I had an early train from Gare de l'Est. For that purpose it was perfect - right across the road. Good wifi. But definitely bare bones. Generally it was clean, but there was one shocking bit of revoltingness - somebody had smeared their boogers on the side of the mattress. IF it weren't for that, I'd say that it was good enough for the money I paid (60 euro).

Holy crap this place is awful

Where do I begin to say how many things are wrong with this place. The lone positive is the proximity to Gare du Nord and Gare d le Est. It goes downhill from there. The place wreaks of moldy, mildew, like your grandmother's basement. The beds are on rollers and when you move the bed moves. The area around this hotel is a tad shady, but we didn't have any probs. We only stayed one night because we had an early flight to catch. The rate was 68 euros which is about $80 and it was definitely not worth that much. Think of the worst hotel in the most creepy part of any major city and that is this place. How this hotel has 3.6 stars is a miracle. I would have paid 100 euros more to not have to stay at this place. I learned my lesson.

The location was ideal for using public transportation daily with a metro stop literally twenty feet from the door. No bells and whistles, but plenty of room for a Paris hotel. The bathroom was a little small, but not bad for Europe. We didn't eat the breakfast but it was nice that they had the option. The are several bars and restaurants nearby. There was no air conditioning but the windows open and the room had a fan. The staff was not the friendliest, but they were helpful enough. The Wi-Fi while tricky to get working was acceptable, especially for free. Many reviews mentioned noise and undesirable people in the neighborhood. We had no negative experiences in that regard.

Not too bad for a night in Paris.

Stayed here with my partner in early September. It is located right outside the train station which is really good. Its a quirky building with some weird steps up to the room. The room was what you would expect for a two star hotel. It served its purpose though. My only complaint would be that I got multiple phone calls 15 minutes prior to check out trying to rush me out of my room. If check out is at 12pm then I will be down at 11.59 if I choose. I don't want to be harassed into coming down early.

A very small hotel, but the double we stayed in was roomy for Paris (24). The bath was tiny but has shower over. Negatives: right outside Gare De L'Est so not the nicest district; no kettle; fridge wasn't working properly; the breakfast room gets very warm and close - it's tiny! Positives: despite the location, amazingly quiet (we had the windows open all night); right opposite a metro entrance; very nice staff; and an excellent continental breakfast reasonably priced. Be warned: the room we were in would NOT be suitable for small children as the bars across the floor to ceiling window opening are a hazard - may be different in a room at the rear.

well, the location itself was perfect. this was a quick stay after traveling for many hours. the neighborhood is not the best, and there was one individual at the desk who obviously didn't care for Americans. I can understand. there was another gentleman at the desk who was very friendly and helpful. yes, you do need to keep your room key with the desk once you leave, for security reasons. we had a room which looked out towards the train station. I really enjoyed watching all the life below. the WC was tiny but adequate. everything here was adequate. it's tough to complain; after all the traveling we did - it was just what we needed.

The hotel is centrally located and has nice, clean and quiet rooms. We ended up extending our stay in Paris and based on our previous visit this hotel was such a pleasant experience. The hotel staff, especially Joseph, was friendly and sincere and provided helpful detailed information about the city and gave us a room that met our needs. He answered all our questions and made our stay very enjoyable. The other hotel staff including the overnight clerk was extremely pleasant. The room was quiet and almost felt like a small Paris apt. We will definitely stay there again on our next trip to Paris.

Hotel is old but clean.

The hotel is a bit far from main attractions but metro is just near by. The area is BAD. Lots of homeless etc. You can walk around but the feeling is unpleasant. Beyond it the hotel is rather fine.

Two Night Stay.

Situated next to the train station but surprisingly quiet , The Hotel is clean and comfortable. Reasonable size room with en suite . Flat screen TV. Staff on arrival more interested in his computer game than dealing with guests. Free WiFi although I had problems logging on, possibly my computer!.

Close to train station

Hotel is almost directly opposite a central train station, Gare de l'est and less than 5 mins walk or 1 metro stop from Eurolines stationed at Gare du Nord. This proximity is the hotel's only saving grace. We chose it because of closeness to train stations plus free wifi. The wifi worked for only 3 of the 6 evenings we were there and even then it was an extremely weak signal. Staff at front desk were aware of the problem, but failed to rectify and seemed not to care. Shower very poor. Hand shower only, water pressure of both hot and cold required to be on at full capacity in order for the hand shower to remain on but this meant luke warm water which often went suddenly cold. Staff at front desk made aware of this but said it was normal. Breakfast poor, a few old croissants, cereal, yogurt and cold meats only, plus tea and coffee and juice. Walls very thin. Could hear neighbours brushing teeth and upstairs apparently walking in circles into the late hours. If you decide to stay here and they ask if you'd like to pay 1 day at a time then our advice is to accept this offer to give you the opportunity to change hotels.

I would have given it 5stars if the WiFi service worked consistantly. otherwise, great location - across the street from Gare de l'Est, train [El stop here in Chicago], and bus stop with easy connections to the Metro. The Post Office is located inside Gare de l'Este for mailing post cards and letters, and if you forgot anything else, there is a Monoprix located just around the corner. No fancy room or turndown service just a nice comfortable bed and bathroom.

Great Location

Im not sure if its a Paris thing but the room was very small, the bathroom was even smaller. I only stayed for two nights so I didnt mind so much. The location was great as tour hop on hip off buses pass by their and gare de est is right across the street along with other underground trains. It was a bit noisy at night even at 4am but again I went with an opened mind and enjoyed Paris to its fullest

terrible service

We found out when we arrived that our room was already booked. And we were told this happens often because their computers are not in sync with the online booking sites. We were offered two rooms at a 70 increase from our price, but with breakfast for free. However, at checkout we were charged for the breakfasts. Overall the service was terrible, the rooms were small, but it was very close to the metro and the train station. I suggest calling this place before booking.

Location and convenience

Staffs will be more friendly if you can speak some French. Location is good, and convenience to metro and restaurant. Staff is available 24 hours even we checked in later.

We recieved what we paid for!!!

Very convenietly located. Just steps from the metro entrance. We just needed a shower and a bed because we are out all day on tours and that is what we got for a small price. Fast train just a few feet away as well. The room was kept properly and as usual there was no air condtioning as in all hotels in paris. First night was brutal because of the heat but there are fans in the rooms. The other two nights were very cool.

One or two night stopover!

Hotel is situated about one hundred metres from the train station so handy for those travelling by rail. The area is very busy so cany be noisey There is a public car park below the station but will cost you 32euros for overnight parking. The hotel is a bit tired, old furniture and an even older bedspread. Comfortable bed, free internet but no air conditioning. One or two night stopover ok but would not recommend for longer or for families.All the above are reflected in the price paid, 92euros which for any area of Paris is reasonably cheap.
