This is not what we were expecting. The room was ok and the air conditioner was fine. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was not acceptable. You could not sit on the toilet without having the bathroom door open because your legs and feet did not fit in the tiny space. I am an average size woman,5’5” tall and could not begin to close the door. It was more than ridiculous. Also a superior sea view room that we booked had a glimpse of the water and no balcony. The hotel sits on a very noisy traffic corner. It’s not a bad location for restaurants and is only 1 block from the beach but I really can’t recommend it to anyone.

The hotel was nice. Great location. Room was clean and comfortable. Our room would not get the WiFi signal so that was very frustrating. Also, the apps for Netflix and YouTube did not work on our TV and the safe was stuck on the previous guests code so we couldnt use it.

Overall this hotel was just okay. Aesthetically it was cool and pretty. Location was close to the beach. Front desk staff was disinterested and a bit stand-offish. Hotel room had no refrigerator, no hair conditioner, and the rooms were incredibly tiny. Breakfast was the best part, but even then it was just okay. The coffee was terrible, but the fresh selection of loose-leaf teas were great. The elevator was small, so we found ourselves taking the stairs out of necessity which was fine for me, but my mother can't walk that much, so she would wait for quite a while to take the elevator.

Our room was small but well laid out and very smartly decorated. The breakfast was nice and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. I would choose a larger room without a view next time. Overall a wonderful hotel in a great location. The air conditioning works extremely well too!!

We recently stayed at Hotel Albert 1er for our honeymoon and had a mixed experience.

The hotel’s biggest strength is its location. It’s steps from Place Masséna, directly across from the waterfront, and within easy walking distance of Old Town Nice, restaurants, shopping, and public transit.

Unfortunately, several aspects fell short of expectations. We booked a Triple Sea View Room, but the view was primarily of the park across the street, with only a partial view of the sea from one side of the room.

We also paid for early check-in but arrived to a room that did not appear fully turned over. Front desk interactions throughout our stay were less welcoming than expected, especially compared with the helpful communication we received before arrival.

Noise was the biggest issue. Outdoor concerts next door took place nightly until around midnight, and the rooms were not well soundproofed. Music was clearly audible every evening. As this appeared to be a recurring event, advance notice would have been appreciated.

The room also lacked amenities we would expect at this price point, including a refrigerator and in-room iron or steamer. The TV offered limited channels, streaming features did not work, and ventilation throughout the room was poor. The bathroom had very little storage space, and there was a persistent unpleasant odor in parts of the hotel.

Overall, while the location is excellent, the experience felt below expectations for a 4-star property.

The hotel's biggest advantage is its excellent location. It's within walking distance of the Old Town, shops, restaurants, and many of Nice's main attractions.

The hotel was clean, and the rooms had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. However, the service could have been better. For example, it would have been a nice touch to offer guests water upon arrival. There was an empty glass jug in my room, but no one explained its purpose, and there were no bottled waters provided. Only after I asked did I learn that there were water fountains available on each floor.

Another issue was that the windows did not have screens. When I opened the window for fresh air, mosquitoes came into the room. Also, the "garden view" room actually overlooks the street and a nearby park. While the view was pleasant, light sleepers should be aware that traffic noise can be noticeable.

Overall, I had a very enjoyable stay and loved the location. Despite a few shortcomings, I would consider staying here again.

The hotel is in a great location near the beach, old town and transport links. Rooms are of a good size and recently modernised. We did not like the late hotel check in time if 4.00pm although we pointed out that on our booking with you us was 3.00pm. Would rather an earlier check in and check out. We stayed in this hotel last year and the breakfast room was on a higher level overlooking the park. It was a nice seating area outside of breakfast time and now the breakfast room is on the ground floor in the reception area with no other areas for guests to interact. Staff very friendly and helpful just facilities a little lacking.

The hotel is ideally located, in easy reach of the city centre, the Promenade des Anglais and the old city. It was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.
We went out for breakfast but the hotel offering looked perfectly adequate.
The room was small, as was the bathroom but the bed was very comfortable and we were not troubled by noise.
The lift is up a few steps, we had large cases, which had to be carried up the steps.
There is only one customer lift, when we left early in the morning, it was being used for linen, which made getting the lift difficult, however Reception staff did help once they were aware of the situation.

We stayed for 2 nights in May in a superior room with a sea view (3rd floor). I can honestly say this was one of the smallest hotel rooms I’ve ever been in - about 0.5m space around the bed, and the balcony was less than 1m wide. The room faced onto the park with a partial sea view, and there was a rock concert on both nights we were there, which ran until after 11 pm and which the meagre soundproofing offered scant protection against. The hotel had been in email contact prior to our check in and never mentioned this concert was on, despite it starting the day before we arrived and happening every year around this time. The staff weren’t very sympathetic to our complaint and only after writing to management did we get a grudging 10% refund.

Firstly the positives great location for the old town bars and restraunts and high end shops with the beach 2 mins walk from the hotel. Hotel clean and modern but lacking a coffee / bar facilities . WORD WARNING do not expect to sleep before 11.30 pm as across the road is a park that hold live concerts . We had two nights of a rock concert that really put a dampener on the stay with NO prior warning . The hotel offered a 10% 1 night compensation with an excuse its a city ! If I had known I would of looked else where . Check before you book

AC was somewhat of a mystery as it has no explicit explanation and differs from North America. This hotel is very basic in terms of toiletries (no shower cap, body lotion etc).
Noise level is high due to traffic lane right outside the hotel. There were also renovations in the hotel which were distintively heard from my tiny room on 2nd floor.

We had a wonderful stay in this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they gave us suggestions of places to eat and such. The hotel is basically a few steps from the promenade by the beach and super close to the Place Massena. The tram and train station are located close by and also many great restaurants and superb shopping, including the mall with many stores, Galleries LaFayette and a ton of shops and souvenirs shops near the hotel.
We didn’t do the breakfast because it was a bit overpriced and instead we walked to the local boulangerie and it was great!
We highly recommend this hotel, the room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the view from our room was spectacular!

I had a corner balcony that was a partial sea view and of the Ferris wheel. We were there for carnival, it was a perfect room to view the parade, and for an evening view of the over the water as it became dark. The room was fairly small, clean, whimsical and a comfortable bed. The staff is friendly and helpful. I had breakfast one morning, it was delicious and had a wide variety. Loved the fresh squeezed orange juice. Shoutout to Joy!

The hotel is newly renovated and I love the decor. The room I had is just like in the photo. Very good condition and clean. However, a bunch of mishaps leaves things to be desired. First I had no kettle in the room. The receptionist couldn't find one so left a note for next shift to send one to my room. But I never received it. The wifi doesn't work for neither my phone or my laptop. There was no shower gel in the bathroom (but the receptionist brought one up within an hour). Heating was broken and they brought a heater for me to use for the 2nd night. No complaints about the staff they are all friendly. However I never had to tell receptionist so many times that something is wrong/missing from the room.

The hotel is in the perfect location. Close to everything. Room was a bit small and I was next to the closet with the cleaning supplies so there was a lot of bumping once housekeeping started their day but it wasn't enough to make me move. We had a lovely stay at Albert 1er Hotel in Nice. The location couldn’t be better - right by the Old Town and just a short walk to the Promenade des Anglais.

The décor throughout the hotel is very tasteful, and the staff were excellent - super attentive, friendly, and always willing to help. Communication before our stay was also great.

We arrived early and, although our room wasn’t ready yet, we were able to leave our luggage at reception, and did the same on our last day before a late flight, which was really handy.

The room was on the smaller side with limited wardrobe space, but the bathroom was nice and spacious with a bath and window. We had a courtyard view - not the most exciting, but it was mostly quiet apart from some noise on Saturday night.

The mattress and pillows were extremely comfortable – I often struggle to sleep the first few nights away, but I had no trouble here.

There are water refill stations on every floor, which is really convenient.

There’s only one lift, and it’s quite small - it fits about two people with bags. Unfortunately, it wasn’t working on our last day, which wasn’t a big deal for us but might be worth noting if you have a lot of luggage.

We checked in on my birthday, which the hotel didn’t acknowledge in any way.

Housekeeping could be a bit better, as we often noticed some hair still on the bathroom floor when we came back to the room in the evening, but overall we really enjoyed our stay and would consider coming back.

We stayed here for three nights. The room was very nice and well decorated, but the expel-air didn’t work at all which is unacceptable given it is windowless. We spoke to the lady on reception about it, but no action was taken to our knowledge. It certainly didn’t work for the remainder of our stay.

Is seems a bit of a stretch to classify this establishment as a hotel, given that there is no restaurant or bar service outside of breakfast hours which are 7 am to 11 am - not even a coffee bar, so for us it should be classified as a bed and breakfast offering.

The food was certainly good and fresh, but the dining area is totally inadequate resulting in very heavy traffic in a very limited space.

The property boasts 70 rooms so the clientele could number 140+ when fully occupied.

The location is very good which is probably a large part of their 4 star rating, but they could better serve their clients and themselves by ceding more space to catering and all day cafe services.

We did enjoy our stay in good part, but not sufficiently to entice us to return.

Hotel location is convenient to dining & transportation. Staff is friendly and helpful. They also provided a water fountain station on our floor to fill up drinking containers - much appreciated. I wished they had an ice machine on each floor as well because we had to go to the lobby each day to get ice cubes for our drinks provided in a bucket upon our inquiry. We also noticed a cappuccino making machine in the lobby but made accessible only for those who paid for breakfast in the morning otherwise the cabinet housing the cappuccino machine is closed shut. As a goodwill gesture the hotel should leave the cabinet open for all their patrons to get a complimentary cup of cappuccino throughout the day while relaxing in the lobby like other hotels did during our tour of France.

Great location for dining in the old town - shops close and a tram for getting to the station and around. We took the train to Monaco which was easy to do. Hotel very clean and lovely to walk out across the road to the promenade and the beach. You can just go on the public area- pebbly though!- or can pay for a lounger - quite expensive €20+- the sea shelves quite steeply and if the sea is strong a challenge getting out but we made it. A great place to stay. We went for a cocktail at the Negresco and have to say the service there was really slow and not worth the high cost for a drink.
