Perfect location for hopping an early morning Eurostar train at Gare du Nord. Rooms are very spartan so don’t expect much. No mini fridge, old towels, shower head that won’t remain in place.

Im not picky with hotel because I only need for bath and sleep but this one is the worst hotel Id stay. Noise from outside very loud that you cant sleep at all. Toilet so dirty and cant sit properly because no space for your legs even im very tiny. Tv not working. The worst part is, you have to leave the room key to the front desk when you leave the room, why?

Room generally very clean, staff most welcoming and it was lovely and warm with heating on! It was noisy outside, being on a main road, so i needed my earplugs, but it couldnt have been closer to the gare du nord station, which is what i wanted with an early start from there the next morning.
I could not get the tv to work despite following the printed instructions, but i did not really need it anyway. The bathroom had no shower curtain or screen around the bath, so i had to be very careful else water would have gone everywhere, so it was very tricky! The plug design in the sink meant that it was hard to keep open and not clean underneath when you pulled it up, so these issues in the bathroom could be improved, but it was otherwise spotless. Thank you.

Easy to find from the subways and overlooks one of the entrances to Gare du Nord. One of the cheapest places with ensuites so you get what you pay for. Small lift, rooms small and minimalist with a bed, very small desk, plastic chair, small wall TV and controllable radiator (higher settings make a bit of noise). Reasonably quiet with the window closed despite being on a main street and relatively thin walls between rooms. Good view of the station from the higher rooms. No tea or coffee or cups but several power points. Ensuite very small, difficult to turn or move. Same for the shower. Soap got taken away on day one without replacement - towels weren't renewed, but floor was clean. Small hallways fairly dark, had to feel for where to put the key in the door.

Quick check-in and checkout. Good service from the staff and plenty of activities leaflets in reception. Restaurants everywhere, tubes busses and trains within a minute or two's walk. Great location and easy to find, basic functional rather than luxury.

Terrible Experience – Would Not Recommend

I had an awful stay at this hotel. The door to our room didn’t even lock properly and we were made to leave the key at reception every time we left the hotel, which made us feel completely unsafe. The stairwell to the room was cluttered with luggage and cleaning products, and not powered by automatic lighting, making the walk to and from the room an accident waiting to happen. The room itself was filthy — the floors and walls hadn’t been cleaned, the bathroom was grimy as the bathroom ceiling was non-existent and there was dust everywhere. To make things worse, it was extremely noisy all night with ambulances going past every 5 minutes and traffic congestion noises so we barely got any sleep. Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I cycled to Paris. Unfortunately the hotel couldn't accommodate my bike. My mistake there. Room was small byt for my needs that was fine.
If you want a romantic weekend dont bother. Walls were very thun. Could here a neighbour's snoring. When someone flushed the toilet about i sounded like my room was going to flood.
No breakfast. Normal French shops near by.

I enjoyed my week’s stay at this hotel. It is conveniently situated opposite the Gare du Nord, which makes it easy to get to from Charles de Gaulle airport using the RER, and so there is ready access to both the RER and the Métro for visiting other parts of Paris. Shops, bars, restaurants etc. in the area are plentiful. My room was clean and comfortable, and I enjoyed the breakfasts. The hotel staff were polite and friendly.

Hotel right across the road from the railway station so ideal for a one night stay before or after your train. Staff helpful and was given a large room with comfortable twin beds. Room and bathroom was clean apart from black hairs on the sofa, possibly dog hairs. Plenty of bars and restaurants round the hotel.

The location was ideal for the train station and the price was really good. However, it was a bit strange that we needed to hand in our key every time we left for the day. Also, I don’t mind the only fashioned decor however the old shower door was broken and in the bathroom also was a strange grate on the ceiling. We also were only provided with half a loo roll and had to resort to regular boxed tissue. Lastly, on our morning of checkout whilst tidying the bed, we found a bed bug crawling along the sheets.

It is not fair for the management not to provide a fan in the room. There is no air-condition, no fan. The room was extremely hot. Once i opened the windows, flies visited the room. They need to consider air-condition or fan.

The room was ok! However, when i booked the room, the details said \" single room with double bed\". When i got the hotel, I was given a single room with single bed. The room was not even numbered. May be the room number fell off and they didn't care to put it back. I was not happy that the room on the advert was not the room given to me. The room on the advert was totally different from the room i was given!!! I reported this but the reception desk told me that Expedia made wrong adverts. I chatted with someone from Expedia, the person said their advert was correct but it wasn't!!! I was told that they will get back to me after speaking to the management but they didn't. They supposed to refund me some money because the room i paid for was not given to me!!!

Overall, the place is good for transportation!!! The receptionist was good and helpful. The rooms are cleaned everyday. Will I use the place again? I may !!!

Recommendations 1. Update the charging sockets with with USB port (sockets type).2. Provide a fan in the room or air conditioner. 3. The window has no protection and it supposed to! 4. Bed should have at least two pillows. ( one pillow is not enough). 5. There is need to have channels that speaks English on the TV. Good luck.

Very bad hotel - do not book!

DO NOT BOOK HERE. I booked for 4 nights in Paris, $480, and ended up having to book another hotel because this one was so bad. The manager was very rude and refused to offer me ANY sort of refund.

Worst 15 mins of our lives

Arrived in Paris at 14:49, walked a short distance to the hotel for our 15:00 check in, the room wasn’t ready and were asked to go away and come back in hour. So we went for a walk locally to check out shops etc, about an hour and half later we arrived back ready for check in. The room was disgusting, hairs on bedding, layers of dust, bathroom light not working… the list is endless. I sat on the uncomfortable bed and we decided it was better just to go back to London, 19:57 we were on a train and booking a premier inn in London for the night.

The hotel is really close to the Gare du Nord and the Gare de l‘ Est. I am not sure, however, why it holds the status of a hotel. It’s more on the level of a hostel, very basic. Such is also the breakfast. It was okay for a functional stay but that’s it.

As a place you need to crash in for a night its okay compared to the price, but and a big but if you care about the bathroom it smells very bad and we had an issue with the shower and in my two days stay they inform me that they fix it, which they didnt. Bathroom is way too small. The big issue i had is about breakfast, i regret that i paid for it since you can have only one Croissants and there is only 2 kinds of bread and one kind of cheese. Worst breakfast buffet check the picture and you will know in advanced what you get

The property was very dated and very small, the bathroom and shower was enough for a midget not a full size person, I am no means big but I struggled to access the shower without being a contortionist!!! It was very handy for the train station and metro links, but the location had too many vagrants and transient people around which made the area feel unsafe at times although we did not get hassled but saw others being hassled.

Don’t dare show up before 3pm

We arrived extremely early, we went to the hotel who obviously told us there’s no rooms ready which of course was fine with us but when asked if we can leave our bags in the hotel because we had 2
Buisness meetings they told us NO, they actually had the cheek to tell us to go back to the eurostar station and pay for our bags to be kept there we had to go to 2 meetings with our bags which was inconvenient especially as our stay was only for 1 night and we paid £ 89 considering we left the room at 4.15am.
We stayed in many hotels in Paris and never nobody treated us the way the 2 day men receptionists did, we asked very politely but got arrogance out of them.
We checked in at around 11pm and my god the night receptionist was very very nice, Picardy hotel needs this kind of staff the whole day, this hotel is so convenient being just across Eurostar, pity the day staff are not fit for purpose but we will stay again bearing in mind not to ask to leave our luggage and not show up before 3 pm as they do so well to remind people.
Other than that we had a good 4 hours sleep. Thanks again to the lovely night staff who speaks English very well and was so pleasant.

You get what you pay for, it is not the hotel fault that it is very loud outside but they could amend the faulty light switch in the room we stayed as as we arrived late and only one small light was working in the room and it was hard to see anything. No aircon at all. They could also potentially look into having a luggage storage for early arrivals or late leavers as we had to pay extra to store our bags at the train station until we could check in. That being said fifty quid for a basic room is what you get.

One gets what one pays for! Due to Hotel Picardy being adjacent to Gare du Nord, i chose this particular hotel. Because it was inexpensive relative to other nearby hotels, I understood that I would be staying somewhere 'downmarket' - but for three nights, I was very happy to put up with it! The hotel is clean and tidy, but my room was extremely tiny, with very limited facilities -as I expected! The concierge was utterly unhelpful and I had to come to the aid of an American couple because the staff were simply unwilling to help them! I did not expect much - and I received very little! If you want a cheap, clean hotel, then this will suffice - if, however, you desire those little extras that can be important to some people, I suggest that you look elsewhere! Clean hotel - shame about the service!

Hotel is ok - could do with a refresh of the decor. Very convenient for public transport. Limited seating area in the breakfast room. The area around Gare du Nord is littered with gangs of men trying to flog contraband cigarettes and a strong smell of urine - not a very pleasant area.

Was visiting Paris with friends. Upon arrival even though i stressed when booking we needed seperate beds we found our room had obly a double bed. We were offered a different room which was much appreciated but once we were settled in our new room we discovered that the toilet did not work. We do not like to complain but when we raised this issue with reception we were greeted with a very rude response. The problem was never rectified which contributed to a less than perfect stay.

Simple room, ok if looking for something to just sleep. Outdated bathroom and decor. Got a triple and the third bed as more converted sofa. Overall ok if you just want to sleep but when we had rain on the bank holiday was concerned we’d need to spend time at the hotel as there isn’t much in terms of comfort.

We will definitely come back to Paris but not this hotel we will pay more for better service.I did like that we had hot water and some breakfast items.

Location right next to Gard du Nord was great for us as we were on a late Eurostar. The price was good for a room with an en suite bathroom. The room and bathroom were clean, good bed with fresh, white linen. The shower worked consistently. However the decor looked dated and the corridors were dark and off putting. The bathroom was very small - I'm an average size lady and it was just OK. It was fine for one night before moving on but I wouldn't want to spend a longer stay there.

Simple budgeted hotel

When we first checked in for the hotel, was stunned that i need to pay additional 30 euro for bringing my 8months old baby along instead of just hubby and i. No extra cot nor extra amenties were given but charge extra. The room doesnt have basic amenities like tissue (staff said ran out) , no toothbrush, no shampoo, hair left behjnd bathroom by previous guests. the breakfast was decent and the staff was generally nice people but honestly to charge additional for a baby who doesnt eat or need extra bed, i dont get it. Location is good but noisy. Room is stuffy. If u need a budget hotel, you can consider. Or if breakfast is important, can consider staying. Overall it was ok for me, just not so pleased we are charged extra.

As far as price goes. It was very affordable and close to the metro was the best part about it.

Nice people at the reception desk.

Cons:
Small bedrooms and single beds are about a full size.
Not enough room for two people to be comfortable.
The bathroom was a joke as the toilet was in a small corner and had to hop my leg over to use the bathroom.

Comforter had what appeared dry blood stains and so did the curtains.
Has free wifi but not good at all.

During the day I felt completely safe with but during at night is where it gets a little sketchy. As I got my room key after spending the whole day in the city a man walked into the lobby and started raising his voice to the receptionist and looked aggressive. After the receptionist warned him about calling the police he left.

The heater wasn’t working I was freezing the whole stay!
There was a leakage in the shower-room
And the sink was not flushing out properly.

And to top it up there was bunch of pick pockets wondering outside the main entrance, one actually had the audacity to follow me to the hotel entrance as he kept trying to get my attention and asking for my number! Felt like an harassment! I was so uncomfortable and very disturb by it that I was scared to step outside the hotel.

I did not enjoy my stay there and unfortunately won’t recommend it at all.

When I spoke to the receptionist he said he did not see the message and could not move us.
The hotel seemed really empty so I couldn't understand why they couldn't move us and just thought they didn't want to.
The bed was hard and uncomfortable
The breakfast was extremely scarce and not great quality. Overall it was not a good stay

The windows did not seem to shut tightly and the street outside was extremely noisy with traffic all through the night. Lots of horns blowing almost continually. I know the hotel cannot control traffic but some sound proofing would-be in order.

worst place I’ve ever stayed at

I booked two rooms for myself and my 2 siblings due to a cancellation of trains meaning we needed last minute accommodation but in hindsight sleeping in the train station would have been a better and cleaner option as we all did not manage to sleep anyway.
The hotel rooms (both rooms), had an indescribably foul smell, dirty sheets and unclean bathroom area. There was stains in random places such as the curtains, the bedsheets and the toilet seats. The floor was unclean. Due to the severity of the uncleanliness I asked for cleaning material to clean myself as we did not feel comfortable in the disgusting environment but this was rejected by the receptionist who advised me he could give me tissues (which I found peculiar.
The bathroom setup was impractical with no space to move.
I complained that the rooms had not been cleaned and this was evident when I found used condoms in the bathroom but to no avail. We were bitten by bed bugs and there was flies. We are still suffering itchy skin a day later. The corridor areas were filled with dirty laundry stacked up in various locations which was visible from the lift area and corridor.
This Hotel is unhygenic, unsafe, PEST infested and overall in humane.
I have travelled around the world to many different countries and quite frankly, this is the most vile place I’ve ever walked in to needless to say, slept in. Although this is a 2 star hotel I was under the impression that cleanliness and basic hygiene would still be maintained as

Arrived in a freezing room at night as the windows was left open. There was not possible to turn the heating on. On the morning there was not hot water in the shower.

The very best thing about this hotel is how close it is to the Gard du Nord. When one comes out onto the Dunkurque St exit beside the starbucks one looks to the left and across the street and there is is!!! It is also right next door to a great patisserie and boulangerie!

The proximity (directly opposite) of this hotel to Gare du Nord (Eurostar Terminal and RER Station) and the No45 bus route which takes you from Gare du Nord straight to the city centre (Concorde) is this hotel’s chief attraction particularly as I was arriving and leaving on Eurostar. You don’t usually visit Paris to enjoy your hotel room but to visit the sights and when you are in your room you have your eyes closed - hopefully - most of the time. I was travelling to Paris without my wife and with things to do, so this provided me with a comfortable bed and my own bathroom. The WC worked fine but the wash hand basin drained extremely slowly so, with the very hard Parisien water, the basin was full of scum after I used it. I spent 3 nights here and the cleaner thoroughly cleaned the washbasin every day so I knew she had been. There are plenty of adequate bar/cafés in the immediate neighbourhood so I did not take breakfast here (additional charge) and my room for Paris was cheap so it represents fair value. The entrance is manned 24hrs and the various men guarding the hotel entrance (conciergerie) were helpful. The lift worked throughout my stay. Would I choose to stay here again? Yes, but if with my wife, probably not.

Worst experience I’ve overpaid for

I had reservations for 4 nights and checked out after the first night because I had to wait to find another hotel with an available room the next day. I was still charged for the other three nights. We arrived at 6pm, check in was at 3pm and our room was still not ready. Our room was in the 7th floor, no air conditioning (since 1974 I was told), no fan, no working elevator, the bed was worn out, had to leave one window open the other window would not open, very noisy area, no shampoo, and the shower is very small. When you leave the building for a short time you turn your room key back in with the receptionist. The windows have had to have been left open while it was raining outside. The exterior walls and base boards were water damaged and the closet floor was sunken down about an inch and the floor was soft.

Don't let the bed bugs bite... literally

Seemed ok... until I awoke at 3am itching all over. On looking in bathroom mirror I was covered neck to ankle in bites, and on returning to bedroom I could see the bed was crawling with bugs. Complained at the time and requested refund, manager was not on site but I was assured it would be taken care of, in the meantime I was moved to another room (a single rather than a double as booked and paid for). On checking out I again raised the issue of a refund and again was assured the manager would handle it... however the manager then refused a refund as I'd 'completed my stay'. So never mind that I was covered in itchy bites that are still visible a week later, apparently I still have to pay for an infested room because I opted not to walk out at 3am...

Did not get the double bed that I paid for

2 night stay...warm weather, warm room, close location to trains/metro, no early check in, nice staff, 2nd floor was very noisy w/ cigarette/? sales, yelling & traffic noise just below..suggest 3rd floor or higher. 2nd 1 night stay...nice staff, did not get double bed as hotels.com sold me, hotel said 1 person only gets single bed/“simple room”??

Good location, very bad breakfast service.
On the first day we should ask for milk-no milk, no orange juice, no place to seat.
It was the worst hotel in Paris I've been.
Can't recomanded.

Great location near two main train stations. Very tiny room but good if you just want a place to sleep. Watched bags after checkout, so that was a plus. Nice staff. Lots of places to eat nearby.

A nightmare stay.

We very soon realised after we’d got to our room that the toilet flush did not work. I went down to reception and highlighted the problem to be told it would be dealt with. We left the hotel around 4pm and returned about 9.30pm and the problem had not been fixed. I went again to reception and was told “j’arrive Madame “. In the meantime my daughter took a shower. We then discovered that it was blocked and didn’t drain properly. She was obliged to stop mid shower to allow the water to drain away before she could recommence. The same applied to the wash hand basin. When the receptionist arrived we told him all this. He seemed surprised as if this was the first time it ever happened. He couldn’t do anything to fix the toilet problem as the cistern was in behind a tiled wall. He did tell us we could use the toilet on the first floor. We were on the fifth. The hotel was full that night so no other room was available. There was grit over the bathroom floor and a neat pile had been swept into a corner. The toilet brush should have carried a health warning. All we were looking for was a place to sleep for the night and get ready the next day, we weren’t even able to do that properly.
Would I stay here again? Absolutely no way. Would I recommend this establishment? Absolutely no way. Was anything offered in recompense? Absolutely not.
