The good: multicultural area, close to Gare du Nord and a fabulous food market.
The bad: staff had real attitude and we were friends travelling together and had confirmed several times for a twin room to get a double on arrival at 5pm. After a stand off we finally ended up with one single and a double.

Very friendly staff, front desk available 24/7, convenient location to both train stations, have to leave room key with front staff when leaving building. Great lighting in room although absolutely no view from window and hardly any natural light from outside. Spacious bathroom. Small elevator and can be difficult to maneuver large luggage due to rooms being on different levels than where you get out on elevator (several steps up or down depending on location and narrow hallways). Breakfast is in very tight quarters. Even though breakfast ends at 10AM, staff were very kind to replenish food after that time.

This hotel is conveniently located only a few minutes from Gare du nord which is great if you’re taking the train to or from the airport and want a direct regional train to limit the travel time. We were four with two teens. The pictures and description made the room appear to have two big beds. But it was a queen with a single and trundle. However the trundle was really comfortable. The AC worked great. The room and bathroom were spacious for Paris. Being on the top floor it was very quiet but no view. The neighborhood was not charming and had few Parisian-type amenities.

Overall, I loved my stay at the hotel which is why I’ve given 5 stars but the attribute that stood out to me the most was the friendliness of the staff. They were lovely, approachable, accommodating and made us feel welcome and safe. Too add it’s only a 5 min walk away from Gare du Nord station (where we got off the Eurostar) and 5 min walk from Gare de L’est (which takes you easily to most places around the city centre). I will definitely be recommending this place to friends/family :)

Great value, great position, great area.

This hotel was an easy 4 min walk to the Gard Du Nord from which we retuned a hire car. The area has easy access to Gare Du L'est and all other transport. The area does not look like Paris but it was very safe and good. The young man on day duty was extremely helpful, and spoke English. He is a great asset for the hotel. The room was small yet performed well, and the bathroom being at the entrance was not a hinderance. Overall a good value hotel.

When booking I chose the more expensive 'executive' room with breakfast & a welcome drink. When I arrived I was told that there is no welcome drink (despite them advertising this at the hotel) and they did not have a bar area.
When I got to my room the 'city' view (which I had picked as a preference) was the space at the back of the hotel & the surrounding buildings, I could just about see the sky of I looked up. I spent the whole of my stay with the curtains closed.
Breakfast 'buffet' was a paltry choice, a pastry, one of 2 cereals, a bread roll, scrambled egg or chipolatas (kept warm in slow cookers,) cheese or ham. Didn't cater for any dietry 'needs.'
Coffee machine was good though.
Staff were friendly enough but seemed ineffectual & when asked if they had a standard mobile phone charfing cable they didn't know and just looked in some draws hoping to find one (they didn't.) They had a couple of paper maps on the small reception counter and when I asked the staff member to mark where the hotel was on the map they didn't know - they had to google map the hotel to find out.
There is no 'self entry' at night, the door is locked & you have to ring a bell to be let in. There's always a wait but one night this was nearly 10 minutes before some came out the back rooms.
On the whole a decent enough hotel that has falsely advertised itself to get businness which led to my disappointment in expecting more than they had to offer. Repuationally damaging to Hotels.com for not checking.

The room was spacious and clean, and the location was very convenient to both stations Gare du Nord and Gare de L'Est. However, the building is under refurbishment, so we had scaffoldings into our windows and noises in the morning from the builders - I wasn't aware of that, so it was not very relaxing in the morning and we couldn't open the window for some fresh air.

This was the worst experience of a hotel I've ever had, the hotel looked nothing like the picture, the ceiling was caving, in there was a huge crack on the wall, the service was terrible and rude. One of the rooms was a really cold attic, everything makes noise like the building is about to fall down and there is some serious deflection on the ceiling. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE.

Not worth the money they charge

Ive stayed in Paris many times and thought I found a good hotel, but sadly wrong, The room should have had lift access, I stayed on the 6th and no lift goes there, but that said, the rooms with lift access you still need to use the steps, if disabled, you can't get to your room, the room window was broken, couldn't close it, so you have the noise from the road with police racing pass, the shower in this room was a good size, things generally a little tired based on the value they are charging, the photos of the rooms have been very well taken as the room looks noting like it when you review the photos when sitting in the room, the stairs are not for the faint hearted un-level as you go down, but thats because they are old, look nice but if you have a few beers, be aware! The breakfast was something of nothing, egg and sausages didn't look fresh that day, not much to choose from and not worth the money paid, breakfast room can hold about 6 people, more than that you can't move, bit like the room, very small the staff were OK, but have a bit of attitude towards the English I think.

I booked for a room that is accessible from a lift, this I dint get, the room photos are very misleading, the rooms are accessible via a lift then you need to take a little trip over the stairs, the rooms we booked had a chair in, but had to be put by the window as you can't get to the bed if placed by the 600x600mm desk, that can't be used as the kettle is there, there whole have been further items in the room, but were missing, the Kettle was broken, so no drink available in the room, we had breakfast for £13, I would say it was not even worth £5, very basic, the egg looked like its been there for several days, and very limited spread, the breakfast room is so small you can only use the bench side of the table unless you don't mind people bumping into you as they pass, the bathroom had mould growing as the fan was broken and when anyone above flushed their toilet you knew about it, the window was broken so you had the noise from the road all night, don't think to book here if you think you have found a gem, its OK for a 1 night, but thats it, the Staff were rude, so not a pleasant stay, I've gone back to Paris the following week and stayed in the Hotel Hor which I do recommend 100%

The room need maintatince and very dusty.

Before booking I read a number of the Expedia reviews and found they were pretty accurate.
1. Staying in the junior suite room 602, the room isn’t as it was pictured.
2. Being in the 6th floor means you get out at the 5th and walk up a further flight of stairs.
3. It is probably not in the best area.
4. The rooms were small.

I suppose each point is fair, but it’s europe I don’t expect a luxury resort experience I am here to see the country, I don’t want to have the best hotel and never leave the hotel as that’s not what I am here for. How was the location? Great, right around the corner from Le east train station for our trip to Colmar, we arrived by taxi from the airport and paid a fixed €50 price. The bed was comfy and after a 24 hour flight I slept well. The internet was plentiful which suited me well as being Paris there were strikes and I needed to reorganise part of my trip. When we arrived there were plenty of food places around that I could go with my wife and 2 children that were affordable and easy.
So take the room as it is, it’s a room on Paris, protect your valuables as you know you should and enjoy the experience 😊

It was close to the station which was good. But it was nothing like the photos. Room was very small. Double bed was barely fit in the bedroom and one side was attached to the wall. Breakfast area was very warm and it was almost impossible to sit and have breakfast in that temperature. Hot water was not working on day 1 and we did not manage to take shower. I do not recommend this hotel and it doesn't wirth the money

I booked this hotel because it was nearby the airport and in hope to explore Moulin Rouge that is close by. The closer that I kept getting to the hotel the more scare that i was getting.
It was in the middle of the day and it was the scariest place I ever been. The area is not safe at all, it is in the middle of the hood. I had to beg my uber driver to please take me back to where he picked me up from risking that I won’t find a room available in the area I was just in by the Eiffel Tower.
During this time hurricane Dorean was coming to Florida where I live and I also needed to get back but my safety was first. My girlfriends and I tried to contact the hotel and they did not care to issue us a refund.
The place was not safe at all and we also had the struggles of our flights. The room in the picture looked nice but you wouldn’t want to get off your taxi to walk inside the hotel because you might not make it.
I never seen something like this in my life. I recorded a video

Small winding stairs, small lift, small room but with a window looking down on the street, comfortable bed, and plenty of electrical outlets. They hold your key card when you leave the hotel and lock the front door so when we attempted to come back from dinner the door was locked and front desk person was on break so we had to wait until they returned to get back into the hotel.

When the staff had to unlock to door to let us in and out of the hotel it confirmed how we felt about the neighborhood. I am not going to recommend it to a friend.

The room is totally different from the picture. It was tiny. The area is not good. Our room is so dirty. We requested to change the beddings 'coz there is a stain but they didn't change it. Floor is dirty. And the worst thing is they hold us inside the hotel and says we can't go out yet cot there is a problem. We didn't see any problem on the door, so I asked where is the emergency exit and they said we can't use it as well. We try to stay for 1 night but they don't want us to refund the money and we have no choice to spend the 2 nights there. It is not worth the price that we paid on that kind of hotel.

The stairwell was fun. The windows are beautiful. But it's an old Paris hotel and it needs to be kept up and that's not being done here. There was a crack in the shower stall, and the rubbery remnant of some past amenity on the shower stall wall. The floor didn't look clean even though there was a too-strong smell of cleaner—like in a cheap Vegas hotel.

When we arrived, we were told that we were being “upgraded” to a mini-suite. Much to our dismay, the room had almost no window to speak of, being that the window looked out into an interior courtyard which measured about 8 x 10 feet, contained paint cans and an old tarp, and let in almost no light. Other than being so claustrophobic, the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast room was the same: clean but sooooo claustrophobic with low ceilings and no windows at all. I could barely tolerate being in the hotel and would have done anything to switch rooms or hotels if I thought I could, but I had prepaid for three night. This was definitely not the Paris experience I had expected.

The hotel is easy to find and has a great location near the train station - everything within walking distance. However, the room itself is difficult to navigate within the hotel due to its half a floor system, most of the staff there on the floor were cleaning staffs who didn’t know how to speak English.

This was our second stay at the hotel. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are a good size for Paris.
The area is great for us as we arrived late in the evening and left very early in the morning after our stay. The street is quite busy at night with many ethnic eateries but no noise came into the rooms - can be a bit daunting when walking home.

Worst hotel.Receptionist was very rude. He is aged Arabic Guy. When we called reception he was very rude and he always disconnect the phone call. I paid £583 for room no :205 the worst room I never stayed in worst room in my life whatever hotels.com saying about midnight hotels is 100% lie. There is no bath room door
The towels are very very old. When I request some towel the same Arabic person was using bad language getting more towels to our room. When I spoke to hotels.com it was even worst. They can only refund £100 for my inconvenience. I have been cheated arround £483. I try to get the reception name he don’t want to tell his name. And there is no name badge. The room was very cold heating not working.

The hotel was very convenient for Gare du Nord, the room small but clean and comfortable and the shower room looked recently nicely refurbished. The only shortcoming was that the chair at a (very) small table in the room was broken. In fairness this was probably only obvious when sitting on it; the webbing under the padded seat was adrift.

What a horrible place! Stay away!! Not a safe neighborhood and the place looks completely different from the pictures. We literally walked in, looked at our room, and walked out. When the manager asked why we were leaving, we said we didn’t feel safe and he looked at us like we were stupid. Me, my husband and 3 daughters arrived at Midnight Hotel, we were given 2 units on level 6 but the lift is only up to level 5. We need to carry 4 big luggage (very heavy luggage as we were from London) up the stairs to level 6 with no help from any of the hotel staff. the lift can only fit 2 adults and we need to make 4 trips up and down to bring our luggage up to the room.

Hotel quite nice, clean, well fiited in a dodgy area. We had a cold water shower and told by the owner that there was a power problem overnight. This was not true as another guest had had a cold shower the previous day. The owner was unhelpful and rude about sorting the problem. My daughter got locked in the toilet, the owner asked why she had locked the door. To which I responded by asking why he had fitted a lock to the door

No hot water in the morning I stayed.
The room was under renovation and had been renovated the same day/week which left a strong smell.in the room. The bed sheets and bed cover had paint stains. The floor still had paint dust.

Hello, I was looking for something near the train station. This is the place! it was easy to find and clean. The reservation process was easy and simple to navigate. I would stay again. I was not near to the key site seeing but it was not too far away. 10 to 15 $ uber from sites. Thank you

The location is very convenient, as it's very close to the Gare du Nord and the Gare de l'Est. However, there was a horrible sewage smell coming from the pipes/sewer system in the bathroom. The shower was tiny, but had good pressure and temperature. The chair in the bedroom was broken. All in all, convenient but somewhat pricey for what it is offered.

The area was scary to walk to at night, smells really bad, my room roof had leaks and cracks the bathroom was really clean HOWEVER the ceiling was FILLED with mold, when I went to the receptionist and informed him shows him pictures & requested another room, he declined and told me I was sleeping in the bed not the roof, he cannot change the room he told me people stay in the room under that condition all the time it’s livable... ABSOLUTE WORST PLACE I WILL NOT RECOMMEND AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT NIGHT IS HORRIBLE !

Great stay at Midnight Hotel

My friend and I stayed there for about a week and it was amazing. While some of the streets nearby weren't great, the train station as well as the metro stations were a fairly short walk away and the people there were really nice - especially the staff at the hotel. They really made our trip! They were always friendly and helpful, and were really fun to just chat to. The rooms were really nice as well, slightly smaller than I expected but it was enough for us and the fact that the bed was so comfortable made up for this. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will probably go there again myself.

Inaccurate reservation/unremarkable hotel

The staff at this hotel was pleasant enough, and the rooms acceptable (if not remarkable). But the primary reason was I chose this place was because early check-in was included. I arrived to check in early, with my luggage, and was not allowed to check in. I showed my printed reservation indicating the \"early check-in\" feature, but the staff acted as if they did not know anything about this. The hotel was convenient to transport, but otherwise unremarkable. Had I known the early check-in feature would not be honored, I would not have stayed here.

Location was great. Very close to Gate de Nord train station for early RER to airport.
Room was clean and quiet.
AC was great as well.
Staff was helpful and courteous.

Expensive, run-down and in a dodgy neighbourhood

The hotel room itself was rather small and was in a poor state of repair; the toilet flush was partially broken, the shower cubicle was missing a door and the air conditioning could only go as low as 21 degrees Celsius.
The neighbourhood is also quite rough and dodgy at night. So much so that reception shuts the hotel at night and you have to buzz the night porter to be let in and you aren't allowed to take your room key out of the hotel with you.
I paid £115 for one night in this hotel, but it was of the standard of a £60 a night hotel. Breakfast was ridiculously expensive. But it is close to the Gare Du Nord station.
Won't book this one again.

Close to Train Station

The area around the hotel didn't seem to be the best, but the security of the hotel itself was good. The walls were quite thin, so sometimes you can hear the neighbors. However the location can't be beat; it's in the middle of Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est.

Room was a pleasant surprise (and glad to be on floor 1). Very clean and comfortable. The TV remote did not work but that was very minor. One of the two front desk staff was very helpful and recommended two very good local restaurants for us (Villa de Andrea!! awesome) while the other gentlemen made us to feel like we were being a bother to him.
