Room was adequate. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and the hotel is close to transport. For a couple of nights this was adequate. negative was the lifts only going to the half floor meaning you still had to drag luggage up some stairs.

After seeing the first room I was prepared to write that staying here is a half step up from sleeping in the park but after seeing the second room I realized that there was really no reason to be so charitable. Also, whoever decided that second room was worth 150 Euro a night clearly has no soul. I found Hôtel du Brabant a convenient location, but unfortunately the overall experience was disappointing. The staff felt rather unfriendly and unwelcoming, which set the tone for my stay. 2. After I stayed I found 3 red bumps in a row on my arm. Now I cannot be sure that this is due to this night, I only know that I did not find them before. The 3 in a row is classic of bedbugs, which once they are present are very hard to eradicate. I did not see a bug in the hotel room, all I can say is that I did not see any bites on me before this. This does not prove that this hotel had bugs. But if they do not wash the bed sheets properly then it could not be surprising.

The location was perfect! Everything was just a short walk or bike away. There’s even a bike shop a few doors down! Be prepared to hike up the steepest stairs I’ve ever seen in my life!

from the outside the hotel looks decent. but def need to realize it has 2 stars listed at the Hotel window. there was a lift but looked very uninviting. our room was ok all electrical worked but the shower was quiet treacherous. About a foot off the ground a bit slippery, held onto the sink to get out but worried the sink would rip right out of the wall. luckily no falls. there was an issue with another guest one night but it ended quickly, but allowed for a very unsecure feeling. 1 of my biggest complaints was the cooperation with the staff. most did not speak English and few made the effort to communicate. I would think a hotel would at least know the English word for a Towel. but i guess the biggest issue was the location. luckily, one end of the street felt nice and safe, but if you ended up on the other...we felt very much the opposite.

Access to 1st floor & no doubt higher levels was poor. We had to cart bags up 1 flight of stairs to get to lift which was tiny, so we continued up 2nd set of stairs. No refrigerator, no tea/coffee facilities, and those provided on ground floor area, you has to pay for, so no customer consideration.Bathroom extremely small. Hand basin could be used from sitting on toilet. Overall extremely disappointing.

Some things about this hotel were OK. The bed was comfortable, and despite being a side turning off a busy road, external noise was minimal. The building seemed very flimsy but there was little noise from rooms around me - perhaps I was lucky. Immediate hot water was available all day. The room was a good size, although it contained the most old-fashioned cot I've ever seen! Still, I didn't need that. There was just one electric socket in the room, but I managed. The ceiling light in the bathroom didn't work, but the one over the mirror was very adequate (although I had to use a coat hanger to reach the switch! But I'm not very tall). The decor was very shabby, but I didn't mind that. The only issue for me was the stairs/lift. I always look for hotels with lifts, and I checked this one. But it turned out that there were some stairs before the lift. The receptionist kindly helped me, but he didn't mention that there would be more stairs when I got out of the lift. I think it was the same on every floor, and they are slightly twisted, awkward steps. This will be fine for some guests, but it was difficult for me, and should be mentioned on the website or description. The hotel was convenient for both Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est, but it just feels as if no one really cares about it (although both receptionists were absolutely fine)

It's a basic clean hotel within walking distance of Gare du Nord and off La Fayette street and a charming place Frans Lizst with a beautiful church. The Poissoniere metro within walking distance. Excellent bakeries near by, I used to have breakfast each time in a new one, sometimes with la good view of the church. Staff has been very helpful, a difficult situation had been resolved. Location, location, location!

The decor was old, but great value - clean sheets and towels. We had window opening to see one tower of local church. Great restaurants and cafes in area. Close to trains, Montmarte and a great young vibe along the canal. A good walk to other main attractions so put on good walking shoes or catch public transport. We walked heaps and loved the exploring as we walked and stayed fit. Remember it is two star not 4, but for price good.

Awful place to stay. Price and location to gare du nord were the only reasons i booked it. Paper thin walls, tiny bathrooms, uncomfortable beds, no pillowcases, no towels, no soap, no remote control for the tv. Poor communication at check in and OVERCHARGED by a couple of euro...not a lot but the hotel was charging MORE than I was quoted on Hotels.com. lift was UPSTAIRS and only stopped between floors! Most bizarre! Horrible smells and view onto a filthy courtyard outside.

There is one narrow hallway to the rooms, and no other exit. In case of fire, it would be a disaster. Also, the front door to the hotel was locked at night--again, no way out in case of fire.

It is located in an old building so narrow staircases and the lift can only fit one person with their suitcase. When we got to our room the bedding had patches where it had become threadbare. The floor was disgusting and had hair and layers of dust. The bathroom mirror was stained and the shower didn’t even have a curtain. This was a cheap hotel so I didn't expect a lot of extras. But I didn't appreciate that the only clean thing in the room felt like the sheets on the bed. Also, this hotel is very stuffy with bad ventilation and tiny hallways. If you are prone to feeling cooped up or claustrophobic... probably not a good place for you. Walls are very thin so except to hear everyhting your neighbors say. Lastly, smells like sewage quite a bit. the room itself wasn't bad or the bed or the bathroom. Only for budget stays. lots of great great food in the area.

The hotel was located in a nice & safe neighborhood. The hotel staff were super nice, they spoke English, Spanish & of course French. They mentioned they were low on staff for a cleaning crew and that was obvious, the bathroom we had, had a missing door in the shower so all the water got on the floor, it was horrible. The restroom had mold everywhere and you can really smell it and see it. But you get what you paid for. The hotel was super cheap so it fit our budget. Overall, it was an ok experience.

The front desk attendants were kind. The hotel itself is in awful condition. I also got some sort of bits all over my back and shoulders and I asked the maids to change the bedding, they said no, we don’t change for 4 days. I had already taken off the bedding so they changed it but they were very upset with me. The location is great though, you can walk to anywhere.

When you start climbing the stairs a foul odor covered the whole area, the building needs a facelift, some updates are needed, I think the place will be better if the owner(s) put a little work into repairing the place, the room was plain but clean. For the price we pay I was expecting to see a modern room at least from the inside.

Very Poor Place
Very poor place. Management does not take an effort on making this place comfortable or keeping things clean. Needs renovation and like many other hotels in France don’t have air conditioning or fans to help cool down the rooms. Very sad... it has potencial to be a charming hotel. This place is in a good location , close walking distance to Gare du Nord and Gare d’l Est with nice restaurants and very good Bakeries around. Not recommended!

Where reception didn't care said the cleaner may of took it (why a cleaner went in there or had permission to as had checked in and was staying one night is beyond me). Was told to email manager on departure and he would respond. Surprise suprise no response
